Alla's Tailor & Alterations: what do users think?
Vicki Taylor: Took a pair of $200 boots to have one heel fixed. When I picked them up i questioned the fix of the heel. It looked like they laid and glued some type of black tar on it and did not blend it in or smooth it or anything. And I also realized the buckle on the other boot that did not have any imperfections were broken! They did not want to fix it and questioned how I know my boot was not like that!!! After a back n fourth they fixed my boot at no charge of course and the young ladies attitude was not pleasant! I will never go back! There use to be a man doing the work I liked him much better!
Lashawnda Parksel: They tailored my son suit to perfection. The staff was attentive and nice. Would definitely recommend.Services:Suit tailoring,Alterations
Xo Amirah: This place is the truth, I came In needing alterations on my prom dress and they got it done! Sophia is so nice and sweet! They did my dress in 5 days. The best place in Kansas City!!Services:Alterations,Women's clothing alterations
Laura Gillett: I have never had a poor experience. The quality of the work is amazing!
Valerie Cherry: Took two leather bags and shoes for repair. The charged me $93.00 cash. I asked them to stitch the handle on my Donna Karan bag. When I first looked at it and took it home I thought " good job". Then a few weeks later both handles came APART because theyGLUED it and didn't stitch it!!! I took the bag back very upset because they didn't do what I asked and charged me a fortune!!! They repaired the bag while I waited because I insisted. Not going back!!! Check your things before you leave!!Service:Leather repair
Matayah Francis: I needed a few inches off the bottom of my dress. I called a bunch of tailors on Monday. Other places either couldn't do it in time, or the price was crazy for what I needed. Alla’s was fast and high-quality work for a reasonable price. They don't take card
Lindsay Lamb: I have used their services for alterations and repairs. They have always been very fast about turn around time and the alterations were perfectly done. The fit amazing. Clearly talented and reasonably priced! Highly recommendedService:Alterations

Ruth Mcbride: My husband and I both had alterations done here for our birthday party. She handled our clothes with care and the alterations are PERFECT! I have already recommended her to family. She is fast and efficient.Service:Alterations
Matt: Had a jacket that needed some work and they did a great job with a reasonable price.
Tierra Coleman: When I tell they saved my daughter’s dress…I mean exactly that 🤩 another vendor had my daughter’s dress for 2 1/2 weeks and had barely touched and gave my 11 yo a D rack 😯 Ms. Alla removed the unnecessary padding, took and executed perfect measurements ALL WITHIN A WEEK of pageant 😉 The work she provided was nothing short of outstanding. Definitely recommend to anyone. My daughter’s dress was beaded and three layers of tulle - all no problem 😉Service:Alterations
Nancy Snyder: You girls saved my wedding dress I will never go anywhere else but here for alterations definitely deserve 5 stars!
Carla Williams: Price for a suit alteration was more than the suit cost so I did not use them and then the daughter who had put the pins in said I wasted her time once I realized how much it was so I won't be going back since I can sew myself but was having sewing machine issues but it was not worth $140
rima: I’ve brought a couples pieces to get altered here in the past year or so. Sofia is always so good in understanding what I need done. She does a great job in her work and you can tell she really cares about her clients. Will always come back for my alterations!
Jocelyn Ramey: The first time I came for alterations made me want to come back again & again. I was so impressed with the quality of the work, I bought a dress brand new to have altered for a wedding & the dress fit me perfectly and you could not tell that anything had been altered from it's original look. I absolutely love this tailor & currently am having my 2nd & 3rd alteration done. I'm so enamored with the quality of the work, I've been going through my closet trying to find items I've always intended to have altered but never did. If you need quality work done at a reasonable price please try Alla's Tailor & Alterations; you will not be disappointed.Service:Women's clothing alterations

Kendall: I brought a couple of jeans to be altered for a better fit and Sofiya did a great job! Love that they were tailored to fit my body. Very happy with the results.Service:Alterations

Kathy's Alterations & Tailoring: what do users think?
Demario Richardson: Kathy was absolutely amazing. She was personable and fast turn around. She is reasonable and the most the sweetest woman.🌹Services:Custom tailoring,Shirt tailoring,Formal wear tailoring
Lindsey Doolittle: Kathy’s is awesome! Her prices are great and so is her work 🖤 I’ve now had pants, dresses and tops altered by her. Definitely will continue coming back.
Anthony Garth: Very nice work
Kris Fernald: Incredibly friendly and professional! I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Billy Lor: Complete Trash, store hours states 10:00AM-6:00PM Tuesday-Friday. Went there Thursday around 3:00PM and store was closed and no one was there.Service:Alterations
Stephen Bai: I had a couple pairs of pants tapered here, and Kathy was very pleasant to work with. She did not give me a quote until she saw the items of clothing on me so she could make suggestions on what to alter; this made a lot of sense to me. She did an excellent job with both pairs, and it turned out to be very reasonably priced compared to other places I called. Overall had a great experience, and will definitely be returning for future alterations!
Rosa Rosales: Kathy was so nice, I had a very complicated dress that I needed alter and she finished it early and it fit like a glove! She was amazing the dress looks beautiful! She does amazing work!
gary donovan: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueKathy is careful to follow instructions and reasonably priced
Kevin Jones: Excellence
R H: If I could give 65 bad reviews, I would. That is how much it was for a simple hem for a single layered dress that didn't even cost $65 to start with. This was not a rushed job, as I took the dress in 2 weeks before I needed it back. I was shocked when she said it was $65. I have had complicated prom dresses with many under layers hemmed for less. Definately would NOT recommend and my family will never go back.
R Hayes: Terrible, charged me 65 dollars to hem a cotton dress a couple inches, the dress doesn't have multiple layers or anything fancy. The dress cost me 20 dollars. To hem it was 65 dollars. Didn't give me an estimate when I asked for one either, I shouldn't have taken that as the red flag it was. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Tamara Gummiger: Kathy did an amazing job! She is a very sweet lady who tries to make sure her job is done great. She explained she needs to see jobs in person in order to see if it can be done instead of quoting over the phone and giving wrong prices. Which makes sense, how can someone quote for a job when the alteration can require uniquely different work. She gave me her suggestion on a bridesmaid dress that was different from what I originally went in for and it came out amazing! Definitely recommend going in person, once you meet Kathy you will see how knowledgeable she is at her work. She will not do a job she cannot feel confident in to have a customer complain.
Gabrielle Love: Called about adding fabric to a bridesmaids dress and was told no no no too difficult. Mind you already had the fabric.
Trixie mg: Kathy is an amazing seamstress. I have to get alot of pieces hemmed and reworked.
Henry Lavayen: Great work very nice to deal with.
DJ Shewmaker: Kathy is wonderful. She was shortstaffed and was still able to shorten up the sleeves on a new suit jacket under a serious time constraint.Prices on alterations seem very reasonable. I will be taking all my suits in for alterations soon.
Alberta Boulkhouatem: Ordered a coat online knowing it would require alterations. Found KATHY through a google search. Her store is neat clean easy to find. KATHY was kind considerate and very honest. She was reluctant to do the alteration at first wanting to preserve to quality and style of the garment. Wow who is that honest in business? I was able to convince her to do the alteration a little differently than she had imagined and cannot wait to get my coat back. Thanks KATHY.
Cassie Kester: I believe this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. About a week ago I called Kathy's Alterations to set up an appointment for a wedding dress alteration. I was immediately told that she does not take appointments and that I just need to walk in for an alteration. When I tried to ask further questions about services, I was hurriedly told that I just need to come in, no appointment. The following Saturday I attempted to come in at around 1pm, but the store was closed, even though the Saturday hours listed on the door said 10am-4pm. So, I take off a few hours of work the following Wednesday to come in around noon. When I told Kathy that I would like an alteration on a wedding dress, she immediately tells me that she does not do wedding dresses. Now, my wedding dress is a simple white dress that I bought online, something someone would wear on a casual night out. When I tried to tell her this, she would not even look at it, just kept saying that she does not do wedding dresses since they take too long. If Kathy had originally let me ask about her services on the phone, I would not have wasted so much time trying to come in only to be rejected. Would not recommend this place solely on this terrible experience.
Lichelle Leapheart: I have went here several times and each time the work was done b4 or on time. You can pay extra to have rushed service, which I like. The work is very neat and clean. I have had custom complicated work done here and was charged very fairly.Don't worry about if she doesn't answer the phone keep trying. She is always very busy but manges things very well.
Ray Holmgren: Drastically overpriced for the work. I took in three shirts to have the sleeves shortened roughly an inch. Charged me $34... per shirt.
Geavonna Johnson: My review is 6 months late. #shameonmeI am originally from Miami, Fl. and I needed my graduation dress fitted. It was a dress I had custom made from REX Fabrics Haute Couture about 3 years ago, but I had never worn it. I went there and she reminded me of my abuela! I was so happy to see that they were hispanic and where I come from those ladies can SEW!Any whoot, I showed them my dress and they LOVED IT! I was confused at first, she was encouraging me to keep the dress the way it was, meaning NO ALTERATIONS. I was shocked! Ms. Kathy wasn't trying to take my money?! Her and her staff told me how beautiful I was in the garment and encouraged me not to change a thang! At the end of the day, I did not get my dress altered. The entire staff was soooooo supportive!!! I felt like family.Although I did not get any work done to my dress, she has won my trust. I saw lots of her work on the clothing racks and will be stopping by later this month...holiday party:)I will update this posting soon, but I must say, that visit was thee sweetest visit ever and she has already won a trustworthy star in my book.xoxoxoG

Expert Alterations & Embroidery: what do users think?
Will NorthAmericanGroup: I want to give a special thanks to Breonna. You guys are awesome! I drove to KC, the trip was horrible and the next day we had to attend a funeral. I came in at 3pm on a Friday and she made it happen the SAME DAY! The shop design is great and I really enjoyed the transaction.
Dante Combs: Expert Alrerations has been the epitome of true custom clothing and top shelf tailoring for me for 20+yrs! Thank you for keeping me tight EA!Services:Shirt tailoring,Suit tailoring,Pants alterations,Drapery curtains alterations,Clothing repairs,Coat jacket alterations,Invisible seams,General embroidery,Custom made clothing,Formal wear tailoring,Alterations,Waist adjustments,Kids' clothing alterations,Men's clothing alterations
Kendra Stiles: I decided to hire them to hem a gown for a formal work event even though I'd heard the prices were high (true). I had a mermaid gown with a handkerchief hem that fit beautifully everywhere — but it was much too long. When I went in, they pinned it up near the bottom. I took it home and tried it on after the alteration, and the dress was now extremely ill-fitting. Apparently they hemmed it from below the bust line instead of from the bottom because the hem at the bottom was too complicated; which then caused the part that was supposed to sit at my hips to now sit at the waist. And the hips were now crammed into what was formerly the tapered area closer to the knees.I took it back in and asked the seamstress if that's what she did and explained why it was so ill-fitting now, and she said she wondered about that when she was working on it. So I'm really at a loss as to why she did it anyway. To their credit, they did fix it in time for my event and reduced the fee (only after I asked them to). In the end, the service was provided; it just came with too much added stress and frustration. I'll go elsewhere next time.Service:Alterations
Clare Frantz: I absolutely adore Expert Alterations! I used them for the alterations to my wedding gown (which were quite extensive), and they did an incredible job. They were timely, efficient, capable, communicative, helpful, and really helped my vision come to life. I changed a lot about my gown's hemline, neckline, sleeves, fit, etc. but they did it all perfectly. I loved the final result. They also altered a dress and pants for my mom, and they did an amazing job with that as well. They really are incredible! 10/10 would recommend for any altering needs!Service:Alterations
Erica Johnson: Excellent customer service! I was running late and they kindly stayed for me to pick up my item! Also, rushed an order when my other online order didn’t make it in time. Gracious with offering to help me out!Service:Alterations
Demetria Spencer: The seamstress listened to what we need, gave expert advice, and will have the dress done timely for our event. Loved it!
Paul Theobald: I took my clothes here to get altered for a few years and always had a good experience. A few months ago I took some mens pants in the get hemmed. They almost tripled their price and their service time. $33 for a 3-week wait (!!) for one pair of pants. I am empathetic to economic factors, but that’s unacceptable to me. Found a place in north Kc, less than half the cost and less than a week.
PJ T: I have to have custom suits and clothes (except for a few items). As a result, I've used every alteration and/or tailor shop in town (particularly those on either side of State Line(Plaza to Leawood). Expert Alterations is unequivocally THE best. The crew there excels in not only more typical alterations, but also in expert work, such as re-designing suits (e.g., altering older style suits -- pleated pants and padded shoulders -- to the more modern no-pleat, tighter fit style suits).Services:Design,Alterations,General repairs
Madison Ella: Positive:QualityThis is my go to alteration shop, always a great experience. They’ve embroidered some items for me as well. It’s a one stop shop highly recommend yes!Service:Alterations
A.M. S.: Have taken several pieces of clothing to be tailored and they did a good job. Unfortunately, some time ago i paid about $320 to have 12 white sheer gauze panels (for 2 sets of sliding glass doors) hemmed to 108”. They were ALL uneven; kinda embarrassing since i have dark wood floors so it’s obvious. I called and they told me to bring them back in but i never did. Took longer thank what i was originally quoted, had to keep calling to check, then having to take them down (replace with plastic for privacy) and wait again was not convenient. Felt ripped off.
Jihan FathAllah: I know am late but I want to say thank you for fixing my wedding dress. It was 1 month before my wedding and where I bought the dress they don’t do alterations they suggested a place that charged me half the price of the dress to fix it I googled and found this place I was very scared but didn’t have time but the result was great and the price reasonable I recommend this place.Service:Alterations
Rebecca S: Service:AlterationsPositive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Anthony Amador: Great little shop with an awesome owner and crew!
Mark R: In my opinion, the best in the area and one of the best in the city. From custom masks to tailoring, excellent service.
Hahaha Nope: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessThey did an amazing job for Breast Cancer Awareness. Love the masks!!!!! Thank you and will be coming backServices:Design,Alterations
Sicc DiCarlo: Convenient location and friendly staff, got an up front quote and they seem to be pricey. $25 to get suit pants cuffed, $40 to shorten sleeves on a suit jacket. I have 17 suits to get alterations but ill probably seek out another tailor or seamstress. I left 10 pairs, we will see how happy I am with the work for the price in about 10 days when they say the job will be complete. Update to come... starting to think I'd have been better off with a sewing machine and a youtube tutorial
WC Monroe: Overpriced and not transparent about pricing. They stated one price and charged me for several other things that were “separate alterations.” Just would have been nice if they would have actually explained that up-front. Definitely not worth their high prices compared to other places that do amazing work, too.
LOVE Ojeda: Reasonable
Amy Smith: I got my mask about a week ago and I have gotten a whole bunch of complients in my apartments complex. Please go to her to have a mask made. I love mine, and she has alot of fabric prints to choose from
Katie Evensen: I’m so glad I came here to have my wedding dress altered! There was a lot of work that needed to be done on the bodice part of the dress and I felt taken care of through the whole process. Thank you so much!
Luay Kayyali: I was there this place is about almost everything you will think about clothes and alterations lady's who is working there is awesome Natasha is great helpI can't wait to go there again for the rest of my stuff excellent service price is average 👍

The Tailor of Kansas City: what do users think?
Peter Makori: The owner of this company is a scam—the worst type of scam—I have met. Worse than the scams of Nigeria! I brought my suits and Jay Matthew promised heaven but unfortunately delivered hell. First, he said his work is of exceptionally high demand, hence his expectation is that you book ahead of time and pay before work is done!I paid him $2,740. He gave me a schedule when to complete the work, by February 2022. Lo and behold, new excuses started emerging: “I am unable to make it to the office because my car has broken down on me. I was on the highway and I have a puncture…” Hi Peter, I am sorry I can’t meet this weekend because, what I didn’t tell you is that I am an ordained church minister and we’ve our annual seminar out of State. The announcement was made abruptly and I had to leave…”After eight months of endless merry go rounds of excuse after another, I demanded that he returns my garments. He blocked me from reaching him. Yet he had virtually all my suits!I obviously panicked and reported him to the police. He was contacted but accused the police of listening to one side of the story! He finally delivered my suits in a carton box. He simply dropped them next to my car at the police station and drove off. I wish there’s a way I can upload the images of extremely very bad work he did on the few jackets he managed to cut. He mutilated my suits. This is man is a vampire and his criminal activities must be stopped through the law! Please stay out of this scam! I wish I had checked on his online page to see the customer reviews. I’ve instructed my attorneys to take him to court to recover the money and pay for the damages suit jackets.
Claire Bates: Jay is professional and trustworthy. He altered a dress hem for me and multiple suits, which now fit great! He is always adapting his business model based on the times, one time I went to his store front, another time we arranged for him to do measurements and garment drop off directly to my place. Definitely recommend!Service:Alterations
Ralvell Rogers II: My pick as the best tailor in Kansas City. If you're looking for someone who's well-versed in the craft of tailoring, then J is the tailor for you. He's very knowledgeable and strives to work with each client from the ground up.Services:Design,Alterations,Fitting custom tailoring
Jess Ray: Bridal nightmare experience!! My wedding day was ruined thanks to him. We paid up front 3 months in advance for custom suit and custom wedding dress alterations and almost had nothing to wear for our wedding day- not ever receiving what we asked and paid for despite very clear expectations and deadlines. He completely conned us and has since ghosted and blocked us- DO NOT TRUST OR PAY HIM! His business has failed and he is a con man that will take your money and never deliver.Service:Fitting custom tailoring
Jennifer Christensen: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueThey altered a bridesmaids dress with a short turnaround time before a winter wedding. Four weeks notice, and my dress fits perfectly! Highly recommend !Service:Alterations
Nina Taylor: I’ll always use The Tailor of Kansas City~I needed a emergency alteration on my daughters violin recital dress, I took it in at the last minute on a Thursday & he had it done by Saturday..the recidle is for the next Monday & he came through for me..I put 4 safety pins around it to the length I wanted it, cause my daughter was at school & couldn’t come & he made it work to the perfect length without her even being there..Now that’s Professionalism~Thank youThank youFor your service…JServices:General sewing,Alterations,Fitting custom tailoring
Ash Epperson: I am so happy that I found this place! For some reason, I thought that alterations was an In and out thing, but he quickly let me understand that i needed to bring the dress in at least a week prior. I had a wedding to go to within the next two days, and a lot of alteration shops were not open. The owner of the shop offered to alter my dress within an hour! I got so many compliments at the wedding, I am very grateful for his service. This was way back in September, but I thought that he deserved a good rating.Services:General sewing,Alterations,Fitting custom tailoring
LS Chapman: Professional, reasonably priced, fast, high quality work.
Leza Johnson: J. Matthew is so very stylish and charming; what a lovely experience to meet him. We had some minor alterations made to my husband's pants. So confident of J. Matthew's skill, professionalism, and panache that next time we are in Kansas City, we will be bringing back some suits to have modernised; I wouldn't trust anyone else. Thank you so much from Gary and Leza, from Colorado/Sydney.Service:Alterations
Levi Taylor: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI approached J for some alterations to my pants before my wedding day, and he did not disappoint. He was quick to finish the job, very professional, and also gave me a great deal when I picked them up. I recommend stopping by to see what he can do for you!Service:Alterations
Michael J. Dijak: What a wonderful experience. J. Matthew is a master of his craft and made me feel like a VIP. He accommodated my timeline and was super pleasant to work with. I will be back soon!
Sonia Klouse: I am so beyond impressed and pleased with the level of professionalism and talent I experienced at The Tailor of Kansas City. He took the time to explain the structure of my garment, the various alteration options and associated price-points, and was personable and friendly throughout the whole process! I will absolutely recommend The Tailor of Kansas City to any friends or family in need of alterations and craftsmanship!Services:Alterations,Fitting custom tailoring
Grant Malone: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessNeeded a quick, last minute alteration for my suit jacket, and came through big time for me. Work on suit was top notch and was very professional. Definitely recommend for all your tailoring needs.Service:Alterations
Emma Lundberg: John is truly the most incredible human in the world, on top of being the most incredible tailor. He has been my tailor for about 5 years and everything he has done for me has been more than perfect. He even tailored my wedding dress where I needed to take off the sleeves (I had to reschedule my wedding due to Covid and we moved it to Mexico) and had him add a slit and he did an incredible job + it took him no time at all. Please if you need a tailor go to John. He will be your go to guy.
Brittney Ryan: I found Jay Matthew to be a great person, however his lack of communication and planning throughout the experience is what needs to be shared! I had my wedding dress altered, and it was the only stress I had for the entire wedding! If you do not stay on top of everything yourself, it will not get completed properly! I scheduled appointments that were cancelled or rescheduled 1 hour before I was supposed to be there, on many occasions. What I thought was a final fitting ended up turning into an hour or more appointment with him completing alterations while I was there! When I showed up to an appointment, that was the majority of where the alterations were happening. My dress was hemmed too short to fix and I only got it 9 days before my wedding after being told I would have it at least a month before my event! I believe Jay does great work with making custom clothing, however alterations are more frequent. Please stop advertising as bridal alterations if a bride cannot trust her tailor to make it everything she wanted and on the scheduled time line that was promised! Jay did partially reimburse me for all of the trouble, which was very much appreciated. However, I would NOT recommend for your WEDDING DRESS!Service:Alterations
Bryan Terry: We went here for our wedding. My wife had her dress altered and I had my outfit tailor made. We both couldn't be happier with our look for the big day. I'd go back for a custom suit anytime. It's a one man operation so he is very involved with giving you the right fit!
Grace Hopkins: Positive:Professionalism,QualityJay is amazing! He altered my bridesmaids dress in just over two weeks and did a fantastic job. He is very personable and professional. I will be back!Service:Alterations
Geoff Kerns: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessJay killed it! He had us looking sharp and was easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!
Weston Branchick: Positive:Quality,ValueJ hooked me up and made sure I was looking great before the wedding I attended! I also needed some quick repairs and he turned that around quickly. Would recommend!Services:Design,Alterations,General repairs
SeMiyah Tomato: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueSuch a great place! I highly recommend. Totally worth it!!Service:Alterations
Estvo Estvo: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWhat a great personality, professionalism and neat and clean work environment. Thank you J for the idea and the great job. I’ll definitely will be back.Service:Alterations

Rydell's Custom Tailor: what do users think?
Otto Houston: He moved from his old location, but I found him. His new place is great!!!
Me'Shelle Bishop: The is the best taylor around hand down! Have used him for over 10 years now!
Angel Salcedo: Services:Suit tailoring,Pants alterations,Alterations
Kristi Seaton: Eric is magician. I just moved to Brookside and he quickly got all of my alterations caught up. Linen pants, maxi dress hemming, jeans needing shortening, and when I brought a pair of corduroy pants he explained why the altereration I wanted wouldn't turn out good. They are more expensive than my tailor in Lees Summit but the service and work are absolutely perfection. 12/10 starsServices:Pants alterations,Ironing,Alterations,Women's clothing alterations,Dress alterations
Cory Bittner: Rydells is fantastic & the new location at 59th and Main is beautiful with convenient parking right out front. Five stars out of five. A Brookside institution where you’re tailoring needs will be met effectively and efficiently!Services:Shirt tailoring,Pants alterations,Cuffs alterations,Alterations,General repairs,Men's clothing alterations
Nathan Gamache: I did not have a great experience here, a shame since I have heard this place is so highly recommended. Brought in a suit purchased in Soho NYC, designed by the former creative director of Zegna. It is a forward thinking cut, not your traditional menswear idea but something fresher and more contemporary. It’s slightly oversized but draped like a lot of modern suits you see on the runway nowadays. The tailor at this place did not see nor listen to my vision on how I wanted it altered and told me to leave because the suit was “beyond repair”. I am not new to tailoring, I know what is possible and for what cost. I had a complete vision for this suit. He asked with disgust where I got this suit and made me feel like an inconvenience. I’m not here to knock the quality of this place, I didn’t even get to experience it. But as far as keeping up with what younger people (and just a basic level of customer service) will want in from suiting as trends change, this is not the place.
Chris Butler: Service:Men's clothing alterations
Nick Gentry: Great service and friendly staff!Services:Suit tailoring,Pants alterations,Cuffs alterations,Coat jacket alterations,Formal wear tailoring,Alterations,Men's clothing alterations
Evan Batten: Erik and his team are great and work with your schedule for when you're needing alterations done. I'm a repeat customer and will continue to visit them in the future.Service:Alterations
Stewart Duncan: Excellent! Highly recommend this tailor for experience and attention to detail. They know what they’re doing here. On the expensive side but you get what you pay for. I’ll continue coming here even after they move to the new location.
Abigail Harlan: Eric is a magician! He and his family have been doing alterations for me since I was in middle school and I will never go anywhere else. I recently had a very ornate beaded skirt that was too big and he was able to alter it through the zipper without ruining the pattern or the beading. He is a miracle worker! Will be taking all of my upcoming wedding looks to him. Michelle Banes: They altered a dress with double spaghetti straps so well you couldn't tell anything had been done. The atmosphere is great and they were incredibly polite and the work was done quickly. They are worth the price for the incredibly high quality work.
Jonathan Daniels: I don’t take all my stuff here- but wouldn’t take the things I really like anywhere else. Took in a wool jacket that I’ve had for ages and was oddly bulky… just not a great fit. Got it back and it’s PERFECT.Service:Alterations
D. Avery: A great Taylor that finished my items when they said they would be finished. Nice doing business with them.

From hemming, altering waistlines and nearly remaking a skirt to fit me before, I will never use another tailor. Erik is truly skilled and amazing. While the cost may be more then some others, there is no comparison and worth every penny.Service:Alterations
J.D. Green: Extremely prompt service, affordable prices and very professional. Will be using this tailor service again for my uniform needs! Five out of five stars.

Jessica Monopoli: Came in last minute for my bridesmaid dress and the owner so was fast and pleasant. I will going here from here on out and super affordable as well!Service:Women's clothing alterations

Brandie: Needed pants altered last minute for a funeral and was able to get great service quickly and inexpensive! Will definitely be a returning customer for future needs!Services:Suit tailoring,Pants alterations,Alterations,Pants hemming,Men's clothing alterations
susan hendricks: I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Pak’s. I provided material for two side windows on both sides of my front door to be cut and hemmed so each curtain would be 78 inches long. One curtain was hemmed unevenly so it hangs with a gap on the side and the other curtain is nowhere near 78 inches long. This job cost me over $100.00 for the material and charge for hemming. I will never return to this place of business and I suggest you don’t either!Service:Drapery curtains alterations
Jessica Starleen: I highly recommend!! Not only did she get it done quickly but it also turned out beautiful.Service:Bridesmaid dress alterations
Randall Paul: My wife had two uniform tops altered. The work was done most excellently and ahead of time. Now her uniforms fit and she looks and feels very professional. Prices are fair for the work involved. Thank you so much! 😊
Veronica Bolton: I took my pants here to get altered and she got it done pretty quick and she only charged me like five or $10 for two pairs of pants which to me is like extremely cheap and I don’t know how they made a profit from it but I did up tipping her because I felt like she deserved more so I highly recommend coming here they get the product done fast and cheap
Loretta Cannon: Hands down the best in Kansas City! Pak alterations has done a couple of spur-of-the-moment jobs out of the kindness of her excellent service excellent alterations and very kindThanks Pak's
Kami P: So talented, so quick, so reasonably priced. I had a satin gown to wear to a wedding, it was hemmed within two weeks and it cost less than $40. I never need alterations, but when I do, this is where I'm going.
Nik Wickerhauser: Wonderful experience here! Could not be more pleased.
Michael Berney: Very friendly, and my shirt now fits wonderfully.
Maddie Dierkes: I had a shirt I needed a button repair and also wanted to get altered a bit to fit me better. Kind woman, clean place, quality work and fair price. Not much more you can ask for. Definitely would recommendServices:Custom tailoring,Shirt tailoring,Blouse alterations,Women's clothing alterations
Andrew Charmley: They do good work and very reasonable pricing. Friendly too. They definitely don't hit you over the head with process like most places do today!
joe ph: I've had a pair of linen pants and wool pants hemmed, tapered, and waist adjusted. Each time the turn around was quick and quality of work was great. I consider myself a lifetime customer as long as she is in business.
JT Fune: She was able to salvage one of my favorite pair of shorts! Quick and neat job.
Bryan White: Staff was very very friendly and helpful. I was in and out in no time and will be able to pick everything up the next day
Ravell Watkins: Very quick and very professional work is done fast and niceService:Alterations
Naomi Soto: Amazing service! She does an amazing job! Perfection! Great communicationDefinitely coming back for future alterations 👍🏻Service:Alterations
Kieara Hughes: I came here for alterations on a bridesmaids dress - I ended up making a silly mistake and wearing it incorrectly when I tried it on for her to pin, so it ended up fitting too tightly after alterations when I wore it correctly. Not the lady’s fault at all, she did a great job with the alteration!! Another bridesmaid ended up needing her dress extended, so she used material from my dress and the lady did AMAZING!! When I went back to pay for my dress that I didn’t end up wearing, she gave me a discount which I was not expecting at all, that was very kind. It was all and all a very pleasant experience and I will be using them again!! 😊Service:Alterations
Lance Godley: Reasonable and good work.

Lucky's Tailor Shop: what do users think?
Travis Trober: Did a fantastic job on hemming our pants and was done when she promised. Definitely recommend
Lorraine Acfalle: I currently serve in the military and needed one Army OCP top to get 3 things (my rank, name rose and U.S Army) sewn on.The owner looked at me with a disgusted face and turned me away. She said she doesn’t sew those things anymore.Sad thing is her husband served and retired from the Army.
Lori Simonis: This little lady does absolutely amazing work and there is nothing she won't take on! I'm so impressed with her! If you need anything tailored I highly recommend you go see Lucky, she's a little bit expensive but worth every single dime and her turn around time is very respectable as well. I'd give her 10 stars if I could!
Stacey Croley: Not open when they are supposed to be. Never received a call that my dress was done. Came by hoping to get it and the door is locked during business hours. There is a sign showing they will return at 3:30 and the current time is 4:04. No answering machine to leave a message or anyone answering the phone. Frustrating.Service:Alterations
Michael G. Tucker: I started using Lucky to alter my clothing back in the early 90's. She always did a great job until the last time I went to her to get my slacks altered. When I went to pick them up I could tell that they were too short. I asked Lucky to fix them and she started arguing with me and refused to do it. Keep in mind that I have been going to her since the early 90's and she knows me quite well. When I got home I decided to call her to give her another chance to fix the problem. I called her back 3 times, but she never answered my calls nor was there an answering machine. There was one other time when I took a coat to her to get fixed and she was rude to me because she said it needed to be cleaned before she would fix it. I can understand her position in having the coat cleaned first, but she didn't need to be rude about it.Service:Alterations
Jeff Downing: Great rare find and Lucky is one of a kind. She is very honest and open about what she can do and in the time she can do it in. Consider have alterations done here if your normal place is too busy.
Al Mccormick: Great Seamstress!
Jaimie Michalke: Stood there just to have her turn me away because she couldn’t fix my blanket which was very easy! Super rude
Michelle McDaniel: I've had 2 pairs of pants hemmed. Lucky did a great jon and was incredibly professional.Service:Alterations
Jaime A. Moreira: Very Expensive.....
Sean Phipps: Love this place - she does amazing work and so quick
Jerilee Hendrich: Always perfect!!!
Bill Bowermaster: Super nice lady does great work and at a great price. I've been taking clothes there for many years.
Madeline: She was nice at first, looked at my dress and quoted $145 for a hem. As soon as I said I couldn't afford it at that price she put the dress on the counter and walked away telling me nobody else would do it for less. I found somebody to do it for $50 so it all worked out. Prices are extremely high!
george klepac: Standard good shop. Don't expect special service, but they git it done.
Garret: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI've been taking my new jeans to get hemmed here for around 10 years. Always an amazing, fast job.Service:Alterations

Lucia's Sarto: what do users think?
Marissa Pope: I think they did great with the craftsmanship of the alterations and I trusted them with working on my dress because they came recommend by my bridal shop, Bride KC. Everything fit like a glove and I was happy with how it looked. I do think their prices are more expensive than most, but I wanted to go to somebody familiar with my dress and designer so I paid the higher costs. I am not always the most decisive but I felt like their suggestions were confusing at times. At the first alternations appointment, they moved the cups higher up which was $30 or so. But at the next appointment they told me that I should look at getting double-sided sticky cups and remove the cups... I probably should have not had them do the cups first then but oh well. When I went for what I thought was my final appointment, I brought my mom with me so that she could learn how to navigate the bustle. They must have forgot about my appointment because when I arrived they had finished shortening the length but the bustle was not done yet, which is the whole reason my mom came. We ended up scheduling another appointment and it was still ready with plenty of time before the wedding, but I would have preferred that they called me to tell me it wasn't ready before we drove all the down there.
Jasmine Sal.: I was late to the game on getting my wedding dress alterations and Lucia got me in quickly and did an amazing job! Thank you so much!
Diane fletcher: Very, Very overpriced. Charge $700 for half the dress which she did not finish. Took to another alterations shop and they charged me $240 for the same thing and it looks awesome!
Dana Waller: When I brought my wedding gown in for alterations I had purchased it far to large. That was no problem for Nataliya. She got my gown fitted perfectly. She also got a lipstick stain out of the front that I had gotten on it during a fitting. Customer service was amazing and I am so glad I trusted my gown to her for my most special day. Highly recommend to all brides.
Shannon Balda: Apart from having my wedding dress altered here, I have also had multiple bridesmaids dresses done, jeans, various event dresses etc. I have tried other tailors but I keep coming back to Lucia Sarto - fantastic quality (the only hint the clothes have been altered is that they fit how I want! Otherwise no evidence!) and great customer service. Highly recommend for your day to day and special event wear.
Taylor Good: Nataliya was the BEST to work with for altering my wedding dress. I was not the easiest to work with, as I kept changing my mind & ended up adding something a little different to the back. Nataliya was very passionate in ensuring that my dress was exactly what I envisioned! Not to mention she is very genuine & down to earth-couldn't recommend her enough for bridal alterations!
Barb: What a rip off. The prices this woman charges for alterations are outrageous. She wanted over $1,000 for basic alterations on a wedding dress. After wasting $650 here, we took the dress to another seamstress who was shocked at the shoddy work they had performed. And after 50 years in the business, she had never heard of prices this high. She is fixing what they did and finishing the alterations for a fraction of the price. Shame on this owner. What a racket!
Jordan Hatch: WOW. My husband and I were in a bind trying to find someone to alter his dress pants for the military ball coming up. When all hope seemed lost we called this shop and they were SO helpful. Not only were they able to get the job done in one day, they also sent us text messages to ensure they were completing the job correctly. My husbands uniform looks great and we could not be more satisfied. Whenever we are in the area we will be going to this business again.
Rebecca Bilderback: I had my wedding dress alterations done at Lucia's and had a wonderful experience! Nataliya and her team are so kind and talented. All the options were explained to me so I could make style decisions that went best with my vision. Nataliya even added new details to my dress that are beautiful. I love my dress even more now than before. Thank you!
faythe stone-brocka: Horrible customer service and workmanship. And she video taped my daughter during the fitting without my daughter's knowledge or consent. The owner, Nataliya, is a crook, con artist, and scammer. My future daughter-in-law bought her wedding dress at Bride Confidential in KC and Bride Confidential pointed her to Nataliya, owner of Lucia's Sarto Custom Sewing in KC for the alterations. After giving my daughter an exorbitant fees for each alteration (around $1413 total) and coercing her to not go elsewhere because the alterations to a lace dress were delicate and she was skilled in this and other seamstress shops were not, my daughter decided to let Nataliya start on the alterations. The dress was bought off rack, and the alterations cost more than the dress. Makes us wonder if the bridal shop, Bride Confidential, is getting a cut off the alteration fees for sending people there. My daughter made an appointment to come in and be fitted after some of the alterations were done. She had her attendant with her, who had to travel several hours to make the appointment. Nataliya changed the appointment time the afternoon before and then made them wait upon arrival. My daughter did not ask for the straps to be shortened. Nataliya removed the sleeves (the sleeves were going to be reattached after shortening them) and shortened the straps so that the bust points on the dress were far too high. My daughters nipples would have had to been up to her collar bone. Nataliya also said she let the side seams out on the dress. She charged $400 to shorten straps, remove sleeves (sleeves were not shortened yet or reattached, and let the side seam out on the bottom). My daughter was so upset with service and quality of work. She decided to take her dress as is and come up north to my seamstress with decades of experience in altering bridal gowns. My seamstress is charging around $300 to fix what Nataliya destroyed on the dress and doing all of the rest of the alterations. Another bridal shop's seamstress quoted about the same price. My seamstress also pointed out that the side seams were never let out. She said you can easily tell if a dress has been let out. I called Lucia's Sorto to speak with Nataliya. I told her what my seamstress is charging for everything and that she did not let out the side seams as she said she did. I requested a refund of $400 for my daughter. Nataliya said she did let the seams out and would not refund the money. She proceeded to point out twice that she videotaped my daughter's fitting and she would show me the video. I requested the video via email and still have not received it or heard back. Beware. Take your dress elsewhere for alterations.
Heidi Downey: Went to get my wedding dress fitted becuase Bride Confidential recommended I go here for alterations. She was way overpriced (1200 +) and the work that I had done there was not done correctly. Now my new seamstress is having to correct all of the problems done to the dress. Very disappointed/ added stress..
Joy Brady: I could have not had a better experience with bridal alterations! Nataliya was knowledgeable, generous, flexible, and made me feel so comfortable! She even made my veil, and it was beautiful. Definitely recommend.
Keil Young: The best and so kind!! Also a fast turnaround if needed. 6/5 if I could!
Britton Hunter: They were so nice, hemmed my dress perfectly and did so in a rush- Quick and easy service. Will be using this tailor from now on!
KPSFerden: Love this shop! She was able to completely alter my giant wedding dress in about 6 weeks. I'd recommend her for any occasion.
Whitney de Souza: I came to Lucia’s Sarto after having multiple alterations for my wedding dress with another alterationist. My dress never fit quite right and they didn’t understand why I wasn’t happy with it, so I wanted to get another opinion. Nataliya was a complete life saver. I came in four days before my wedding and in about 5 minutes she had pinned it to perfection and provided her expert recommendation. She was able to turn in around in two days and I was so so so happy with it. It looked absolutely beautiful and fit me perfectly on the day of! Her price was also incredibly reasonable (considering I had paid 4x as much at the other alterations shop)!I cannot recommend her enough. If I could give her a million stars I would.
Charlie Pike: Very friendly staff and quality service!
Rebecca Bellamy: Nataliya was wonderful to work with! She was so sweet and accommodating when I had questions or concerns about my wedding gown. She completed my alterations early and for a very reasonable price. She even took the time to make a video on how to bustle my gown so I could show my mom. Highly recommend!
Catherine: Very talented and accommodating! Will return over and over.
Ashley Hopkins: Love her!!
running funk: Really good job correcting a crazy botched prior alteration on my daughter’s solo Irish dance dress by a different place. Liked the fact she gave options and finished on time and for the quoted price. Was not cheap, but was impeccably done. I would make sure you communicate well, as there was only one thing that didn’t go quite right. But all things considered I am happy with her correction and upgraded hidden zipper.

Sisters Alterations: what do users think?
Jessie Poole: They always do a great job on alterations!
Angie Calhoun: Homma is awesome and very talented at what she does. So glad I found this plaxe.
caron comas: Nice people.
Kara J J: They fixed up 3 of our jackets. replaced a jacket zipper on 2 and fixed buttons and pockets on another. It was cheaper than getting new jackets and they look great... can't even tell.
Katie Jackson: Way way over priced. I picked up my romper and it was more for the alterations than I paid for the romper! They should have called to tell me how much it would be. I would have said nevermind don't do the alterations. Nice staff but ridiculous prices.
Kathy Fiorello: Jackie you are not nice. Wouldn't even speak to me.when you didn't finish my beautiful dress.I took it to Paks alterations in NKC .She did a great job. I got a lot of compliments . Maybe you should retire.Service:Formal wear tailoring
Deborah Fischer Stout: She does great work.
Angel Leasure: THANK YOU JACKI! I called this place for an emergency fix on my wedding dress and she calmed me on the phone and told me to bring it in. I get there and Jacki was so motherly with calming me and giving me hope by walking me through it and making a way. Got the finished product and LOVED it! So much so that we decided to bring suits in and have them worked on.
Jennie Lakenan: I've had half a dozen items altered at Sisters Alterations now, everything from a simple hem on a pair of jeans to taking in a dress that was several sizes too big.Service:Alterations
Tony Bonura: They were very accommodating.
Kadence Robertson: I tell you to RUN! I brought a dress in needing a slip/lining and get taken in. When I brought the dress in the lady was very nice but she said that the manager would need to call me the next day to quote me a price for the lining. I had missed the call from the manager the next day so I called back, the manager answered the phone and told me that she would be putting me on hold. As I'm sitting on "hold" I can hear the manager and another seamstress talking about a customer's dress. All I heard was "she needs this zipper to be bigger because she's a little chunky". My jaw was on the floor, I could've been the girl they were talking about. The manager herself calls me later that day about 5pm, speaking 200 words a second and I hear okay bye so I'm like wait I'm driving right now I have no idea what you said could you please repeat yourself. She acted annoyed and then proceeded to tell me that my dress was ready to be picked up. I had only dropped off my dress the day before so I was surprised and I wanted to confirm with her that my dress was the one she was talking about and she insisted that my dress was ready to be picked up. I thought this was strange because my dress wasn't supposed to be done for a month. I went in the next morning and the same nice lady was there. She told me that my dress was not ready and no one had called me to pick it up. I showed her my call log and she said the manager is an older lady and she had got confused. After I heard them body shame their customers and waste my time I decided to take my business elsewhere and I recommend you do the same. This place is so unprofessional!
Kris R: Friendly but pricey. Took 2 items to be altered but when I went back to pick up one of the items had not been completed. Good thing I tried on and noticed the pins still in tact. They offered to refund cost of altering and also offered to work on after hours since it was closing and our was imperative for evening plans. This is why I left a week in advance. I had to leave and come back which with the gas expense and time spent, was not fair to me. I arrived 30 mins later and item was done, but not perfectly and I received no refund. I did not ask for it but "in good faith" should have followed through with her resolution to compensate for their discrepancies. Not throughly happy with services received.
Susan Harris: Work completed as promised. Very friendly and respectable business. I highly recommend them.
Jennifer Lamb: She does a great job on alterations in a timely manner. Will be back!
Lisa Whitworth: They are excellent at what they do and very reasonably priced. They are also always friendly and quick to complete the work.
Charles Strauss: Great place the ladies stayed late to get my suit done for me on a rush job and did the job perfect. Thanks ladies.
shahab sayedi: Couldn’t be more satisfied.
Jenny Aktar: Came in to get my blouse altered and the owner did a fantastic job. It was fast and affordable. Will definitely come here again; great service!Service:Alterations
Jason Peters: I had a pair of jeans hemmed. They turned out great. I will be returning.
Kurt Preston: Quick and friendly service, they did an excellent job shorting my wife's pantsuit. The outfit doesn't appear like it had 3 inches removed from the legs. This isn't her first time using Sister's to shorten something, she plans to continue to use them because of the quality of work performed.
Ana Haynes: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueThey are so amazing, my family has had a couple alterations done but me being the most recent. I had a couple things done to my wedding dress and it looked so incredibly beautiful and couldn't be more happy! The price was just the icing on top. Very affordable!
