William Murty: I want to shout out a big thank you to Dr. Tauber and his employees at Tauber eye center. They were all very helpful, courteous. I went to different eye doctors and they couldn’t find the problem. Doctor Tauber found the problem right. It was deep into my cornea. He took all the precautions necessary and removed it successfully with no problems. Thank you again Tauber eye center.

He's coauthored research and is an expert on the eye condition I was concerned about. I found Dr Tauber and his staff to be every bit of what I expected. After initial testing and taking a proper history, he took the time to really engage and explain what was going on, he conducted further testing, and developed a solid treatment plan. I'm very satisfied with his expertise and personal approach to care. His staff if excellent, and friendly as well. I appreciate the time taken by the staff to educate me on the issues and provide effective training for self care.
Tyler LeBar: I had a horrible experance here. I went in to get a eye exam and get new contacts. I have insurance they didn't use, there was no eye exam. I was told to contact my old doctor to get my perscription. Then nothing I was never called back and got a bill for 239.00 dollars. The funny thing is they didn't run or use my insurance, also the bill was for someone that is not me and I don't know who it is. Would not go back or refer anyone.

All staff here were absolutely amazing in addition to being comforting and humorous. They took his situations seriously with the upmost caution and direction toward preventative healing. Laurie: Wow wow wow!! I was very impressed at the care at this facility. My sister sees Dr. Tauber for dry eye and I have been looking for a new dermatologist since I can no longer go to my specialist at Children's Mercy. I tried Discover Vision multiple times and really wasn't impressed. Since I have gotten older I realized how scary it can be if you don't know if you have a problem or not! In Discover Vision they didn't listen to my concerns and ignored my problems. I liked my old opthamologist because I knew she cared enough to see if there was any problems (which makes you feel good because sight is important!) I couldn't make an appointment with Dr. Tauber, but was able to get one with Dr. Remmington. WOW! Best eye doctor EVER! I thought my last eye doctor was thorough... Goodness! I was there for about TWO HOURS and not because they were slow!!! They wanted to make sure they knew everything they could to help me and they answered every question I asked. Dr. Remmington is the kind of doctor everyone wants, she is kind, empathetic, a good listener, great explainer and KNOWLEDGABLE! She doesn't papoo anything you say, GREAT eye doctor!!Thanks again!

Robyn Jackson: I've suffered from dry eye for many years. I went to several doctors over the years with limited success. But finally my eyes were suffering so much that they were tearing up constantly. Another doctor suggested I needed surgery to open my drainage ducts. I didn't buy it. After lots of internet research and trolling dry eye bulletin boards, I suspected I suffered from meibomian gland dysfunction. I found Dr Tauber because his web site actually had information about dry eyes. He confirmed that I indeed have meibomian gland dysfunction and after several treatments of him "popping" open the meibomian glands along my eyelids, I finally stopped the constant crying. My eyelids look normal again rather than super thick and irritated. I'll be dealing with this issue for life, but with regular treatment at home and from Dr Tauber, my eyes feel good again.

The front office staff, back office and Techs are all very friendly, positive attitudes and efficient. But the primary reason I use this clinic is because of the excellent care I receive from Dr Dawn Bircher. I’ve been seeing Dr. Bircher for over 10 years and she’s simply the best. She’s very knowledgeable, patient, kind, great sense of humor and doesn’t rush through exams. If you’re looking for a good Dr and great care, look no more!

Samantha Beneski: It has been over a month since I placed an order for contact lenses with KC Eye Clinic. They allegedly arrived about 2 weeks after the order was placed and then were lost. They were reordered, but I still have not gotten them. I've called multiple times and have always been told the person I need to talk to isn't available, and they take my number to call me back, but then they never call me back. I used my insurance to order these lenses so I can't just order them from somewhere else, but at this point I've been using trial lenses for way past the recommended time. (which, it wasn't until the second time I got trial lenses to "hold me over" until the actual lenses arrived that they told me I should only wear trial lenses for 1 to 2 weeks. This is my first time using contact lenses so I had no idea). Honestly at this point it feels like the new location is a front to steal people's insurance money.Edit: In response to my review, the eye clinic finally called me and said they would ship the contacts directly to me. They were supposed to arrive yesterday and they were not there. To the reply from the clinic on my review: I am understanding of the things out of your control such as the backordered lenses, but never once was any of this communicated to me. It shouldn't be on the customer to reach out after weeks of silence to ask what the heck is going on. Why did no one call me to tell me my order had been delayed and offer me more trial lenses? Why did I need to take time out of my work day to track down what was happening when it would have been way easier from someone from your team to call me? I was told multiple times your mission farms location was understaffed and that's why no one picked up the phone. If you don't have enough people to work at a new location and support something as simple as answering phones, you aren't ready for a second location.
Jeff Evans: It's always best to have your first contact be professional and friendly. This wasn't the situation with my phone call to this office. We decided that we weren't compatible. I politely decided to look elsewhere.

Cheryl Merriman: The tech wrote my prescription and I went to fill it and that’s when I found out it was wrong. Called them and talked to Mindy the administration. They called me back and wanted me to come in and do an eye check and that is when Mindy came me and told me the prescription was written correctly and they would do nothing about it. Even when I was in earlier all the techs said the tech had written it down wrong. I have been a patient of them for years and not to make good on this is a wrong and I will never go back and I will tell everybody I know not to go there!!

My eyes are usually dilated quickly, then I have to sit in the waiting room after for a minimum of 45-50 minutes. Once I'm taken back, the wait time starts again. It happens every visit. If you want a quick visit with the same level of professionalism, go to the Odessa branch.

John O Tierney: This place is the biggest JOKE! My appt was at 10 am and after waiting 45 minutes to be seen I asked if maybe they were overbooked and the receptionist said no you're next. Well after another 15 minutes of waiting I was still not called to see anyone so I asked to cancel and the receptionist instead of canceling at my request called someone out to talk with me and try to keep my business. I politely said no please cancel and do not charge. If you use this establishment plan on at least an hour to 2 hour wait to be seen. I think this place has become bigger than their britches and are just moneymongers.

Sam Porter Bridges: Great doctor and nurses. Exam was top notch.I'm not sure why they didn't try to sell me glasses, that's why I went there. I was ready to spend a good amount, but whatever.Since I wasn't worth their time, I'll just buy online.
JESSICA SWETE: I have been going here since birth. Over the last 5 years or so, their care for their patients has declined rapidly. I always liked Dr. Somers, but going to him since birth and he still "doesn't recall" who I am, is a little disheartening. I can get over that (kind of). What I cannot get over is how horribly rude his front office staff is. My sister, mom, and myself are all looking elsewhere.
Ed Ellyson: This review is for Dr Audrey Blacklock,. I have been a patient of hers for several years and have been very satisfied. She took the time to explain my need for glasses and convinced me to try them vs. having readers everywhere. The progressive lens are equivalent or better to the readers and to my surprise, the distance lens is an improvement to around 20-15 vision, vs. the 20-20 I had without glasses. She's personable, professional, very competent and a whiz with the computer stuff.
Nikita Guthrie: I give this company 1 stars. I applied to work for this company, who is opening up a new office in Grandview, Missouri soon. I got an email saying I wasn't a fit for their company. How can you tell if a person is a good fir for your company, by looking at their resume? Just because I haven't work in an eye center, doesn't mean I'm not a good fit for your company. To me, that's discrimination. The very one you are over looking, could be the right fit for your company.
Kristen Gibbs: I had debris spray into my eye at a house fire. He was my third different eye doc visit and the only one who caught the 2nd abrasion. He is thorough and direct, doesnt mince words but he is dedicated to making sure your eyes are good to go. Also does Lasik eye surgery. I plan on using him. I really like his staff. They remember you and you can be formal or casual talk with them. They are very kind. I recommend this place!
Dan Ozborn: 1st time visiting, after several years of the same prescription I decided to have my eyes checked. getting to the office was easy and parking was close by. I arrived on time and was presented with papers to fill out. The process took all of 5 minutes before I was taken to the exam room. The girl who took me back greeted me with smiles and a happy attitude making me feel comfortable. After she ran a few tests the doctor came in about 3 minutes after she left, he greeted me, smiled and proceeded to perform additional tests and observe my eyesight. His explanation was thorough, his demeanor was humorous and fun, he was intelligent and genuine. He explained my issues and asked if i had any questions...He didn't seem hurried nor anxious to "move on" to the next patient putting me at ease that he wanted to make sure everything I had concerns with, were covered.All the staff was nice, the office ran professionally the Doctor was genuine and professional as well. Great experience, I'll go back again when needed.
Trini Ozborn: I was very satisfied with the care and patience that Dr. Somers had given me when I had gone in for my eye exam. He put me at ease by answering all of my questions about an eye condition that I have been worried about developing. He's very thorough with his exams, the atmosphere is comforting and the staff is wonderful.
Emily C: Dr. Somers put in punctal plugs for me. He was so quick it was over before I knew it! And it didn’t hurt a bit. I would definitely recommend him for all your eyecare needs.
matt reinschmidt: My wife and I have both used Lenscrafters for years but recently we thought a change was in order after Lenscrafters moved to a location further away from us, so we tried Somers Eye Center located in the North Kansas City Hospital tower. Two pairs of glasses from them in a row have both fallen apart now literally while my wife was laying in bed reading at night and not even two months after getting them back from being fixed - so they have both fallen apart!!! None of the glasses we got from Lenscrafters or even Sam's Club ever did this. The screws are very small even smaller than my jeweler's screw driver and these frames go haywire when they come apart so of course we have to make an appointment to get them fixed which is a huge pain and major inconvenience. And they do not seem to like to hand out new cases with their $300+ pairs of glasses unless you ask specifically for one. I would have to say do not be fooled by a location in a major hospital which they are not actually affiliated with, this outfit clearly does not know how to make a pair of glasses. At least, not glasses that can hold together for longer than 6 weeks of reading books in bed or sitting in the office. That seems really poor for the $300+ purchase price for each pair.

Anna Guerber: I have been a patient of his for over 5 yrs. now and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Dr. Brundige also takes care of my husbands eyes. He did do cataract surgery on my husband with great results. He listens attentively to all of your concerns and never appears too hurried. You do have to wait sometimes in the exam rooms, but I would rather wait on quality than settle for less.

Audrey Martiny: I was unsure when all of this started. Talked to 1 person at work that had to get donations 👁 he said no problem. Great work. I knew I was in good hands then. Right 👁 is next week for cataract removal. Pay the extra 600. Each eye for refraction it's worth it.
Lisa Shackelford: I drove 45 minutes to my consultation and was 5 min late bc of traffic and they told me I had to reschedule!!! 5 minutes?!?! We have to wait for doctors for hours and I was late bc of traffic. Rude, rude, rude! They lost a client and I’m billing them for my time off work. Completely un accommodating and heartless. Would never go! . .
Darrel Robertson: I had cataract surgery done by dr cavanaugh at an early age after lasik done by Dan durrie a former cavanaugh employee. Dr cavanaugh did an excellent job on my eyes. Ten years later my opthalmologist in Arizona say I have the eyes of a 20 year old and I am 70 years old. I have seen work done by ophthalmologists in Arizona and they are 20 years behind the quality work that dr cavanaugh does

They said they were booked for quite a while. When I described my problem she immediately replied she would try to work me in. Called me back within a couple hours with an appointment for today! They are all so professional yet personal and kind!

I spent nearly 2 years at cokington eye center and all I got was $1000 poorer very poor service and no compassion for me being a nurse working during a pandemic and for missing literally 1 appointment but never getting a call back to reschedule. But everything has been 100% different at Cavanaugh I get to be followed by an actual doctor not a tech. They are thorough and don’t make false promises. I have had nothing but great experiences so far with them and hope this turns into the specialist for all my eye sight care going forward.
