Emily (Selkie): Check your receipt before you leave. Apparently nobody ever updates the price tags on the shelf to reflect the current prices. I've been here twice this week and have been overcharged both times on different products because of things ringing up more expensive than what is shown.As far as food quality goes, it's not great. The produce always looks near spoiled to actually spoiled and the selection is severely lackluster.The food selection overall is limited. If you're looking for basic packaged/processed food they'll probably have it but if you need something specific, don't count on finding it here.Clientele and shopping atmosphere is hit-or-miss. Sometimes it feels somewhat sketchy in there so I try not to linger for longer than absolutely necessary.I guess this store works if you need something basic in a pinch but it's not where I'd recommend doing your grocery routine at.Update 4/10/23: they closed up shop a whole half hour early for no discernable reason. I swear this place is run by lazy clowns.

Manny Mundo: I went in to buy beer and they had almost none in there. I also looked around because they usually have their frozen pizza in the same aisle across from the beer. The next week everything was restocked, great right? Well everything seemed to have been thawed already so when you opened the pizzas they had a bad smell to them somehow and were falling apart. It’s already priced higher than even Sun Fresh for a cheap Jacks pizza but obviously their machines broke down, the food thawed and they just took it out and then put it back in once they were fixed.
KCBruin MO: Always check the expiration dates on your food here. It’s usually expired.
Brigid Elbert: Small market that I can quickly locate what I need and get in and out. I love it. If you for some reason need Halloween cards in April, they'll have that, BTW. Admittedly the interior is pretty tacky and their THC counter is kinda weird among the rest of the shop, but it's a local corner convenience market, not a Cosentino's. Not totally reliable on stock but 6/10 times they'll have what you need in terms of dairy and meat. Lots of students live around this area and it's a decent spot to walk to for shopping. The employees keep to themselves but are nice!

Liza cartwright: I just wanted to leave a little note to the lovely man who went above and beyond for me yesterday. I couldn't find my wallet. I called there to see if anyone had found it. I told the man I didn't think it was there but I was just recounting my steps that morning. He asked the cashier who checked me out. He watched the video and followed my steps from there out to the parking lot to see if I dropped it. He went outside to look around where my car was. He did not have to do all that. Nobody goes out of their way anymore. I just wanted to tell him thanks and I found my wallet in the depths of our car. I wish I remembered his name but as usual, brookside markets customer service is above pare. Sidenote: Carlos and AJ are always my cashiers in the morning and they are lovely. It's always such a nice way to start my day.

The deli area has a great selection of food you can get to go or sit at one of the tables they have on a small dining area. They also have an amazing selection of desserts if like us you are just looking for something to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Benjamin Moore: I just left the Main St. Kansas City, MO location of Cosentino’s Market. The male cashier was quite unhelpful and short. When I walked up to the register, he spoke and rang me up. I selected the $20 cash back option and said, “It would be great if I could get two 10’s.” He said - in a very cold and short tone might I add - “I’ll have to see I have that.” Which, of course, I know that. It wasn’t what he said but how he said it. He opened the register and had no 10’s. So I asked for four 5’s, which he then gave me. The next customer - who was a White male - was greeted warmly by the cashier with, “Hey! How’re ya doin’? Do you need your parking validated?” As you could imagine, I was caught by surprise, because I received none of that courtesy and warmth. Also, see the picture I’ve attached. Quite disturbing. Why do I post it and bring light to it? Because this is a hint into the culture and mindset of this establishment.As a cast member of a major musical tour that is in town, it is immensely disheartening to tour this country and experience people’s bias, racism, and inequities. The same people - who quite possibly came to enjoy my performance on stage - treat me differently when I patronize a local business. What a shame! I hope you examine your policies and employees and ensure that they treat ALL PEOPLE with care and respect. It’s 2023 - time to do better.
