Missouri Sewing Machine Company: what do users think?
CLAUDIA DUFF: It was the most enjoyable buying experience I have ever had! Jamie at the KC downtown center was amazing. She explained all the things to me. Sat with me while I test drove one feature after another. I absolutely loved working with her on this purchase. I went into the store with lots of questions and I walked out with a beautiful machine that will meet all of my needs.
Stephen Person: Very helpful and friendly people here!
Cindy Miller: We moved from St Louis to Kansas City. We dismantled & reassembled my long arm quilting machine. And sadly, it wasn't quite right. One call to Jeff, and he came out, fixed our problem, leveled my machine, and has me humming again! Jeff was efficient, friendly & knowledgeable about my Babylock longarm!
Sharon Wuthnow: The staff is helpful and friendly. Great explanation of each machine. Definitely glad I went there instead of buying online.
Sharla Riead: I was in a panic. Sewing for my daughter's wedding when my machine stopped working and jamming and messing up. I chose to go to Missouri Sewing Machine Co because they have been operating in Kansas City forever and I needed someone with experience. They immediately ran my machine through is paces, looked at the examples I brought in of what was happening, and determined that I was just using the wrong thread weight and needle for the buttonholes I was attempting to make. They helped me determine the correct size needle and thread and I was back in business! I am so grateful that they not only helped me, but didn't make me feel dumb, even though it was operator error. They treated me with respect and could not have been nicer! I will be bringing my machine back for a complete clean and tune up after the wedding.
aivilO: Such a cool place to visit, everyone was so nice and helpful!
Nicole Smith: Very knowledgeable, helpful , and reasonably priced.
Amy Chapman: I'll change this review if something changes but I need a commerical machine serviced and I talked to Jeff today. He was a complete jerk to me. I was told to call and tell him what day I was coming. I called and said Friday and was told he cannot do Fridays due to being out servicing other machines. Ok, so I asked what day. He said Saturday. Unfortunately I cannot do Saturdays. When I said that, there was nothing but silence on the phone. I then said, ok what other day. He said you tell me. Well clearly there are days he can't do, I don't magically know his schedule.I used to love this place, but will now be looking elsewhere if this is how they are going to treat a long time customer.
Scott Guthrie: I had the good fortune to meet Kelsey who not only sold me the thread and seam ripper I was looking for, but turned me over to Mark when I mentioned I was having tension issues with my machine. Mark took one look at it and saw the missing pin behind the tensioner. Within minutes he had a replacement in and I was off and running! Because of this kindness I was able to finish sewing curtains with a friend nursing a newborn baby and meet with a neighbor to show her how to correctly manage tension on her machine. Missouri Sewing Machine company showed me kindness, shared knowledge, sold me the things I needed, made a great repair on my machine and all for real value! Good service, kindness and compassion for strangers is always a winning combination! Love runs down hill and brings joy to all! Thank you both!!
Justin Colvin: 100% an absolute treasure! This store is worth its weight in gold! We drive across the state with a smile on our face to see them!!
Lillian Uding: Just purchased a machine for my upholstery business. Curt was very helpful answering any questions and demonstrating how to upkeep the machine. The ladies working were very helpful and friendly as well. Would definitely recommend for all your sewing needs!
Michael Squires: Dropped off a surger for service.
Daniel Green: Nice people, a whole lot of options for sewing machines and repair
Angela Marie: This is a cool shop... conveniently located near many busy and highly traveled streets in the heart of KC...ample and properly engineered parking lot, not far from gas, food, or lodging.
Anna Hawley: Wonderful staff. The gentleman there helped walk me through a older machine and it's parts so that I could work on a new project. Great service!
Sherry A: We ONLY SHOP this BUSINESS for our NEEDS ! Because we Get Honesty answers and Great Prices, and The Best Service in Missouri ! Love the showroom and People who Work here ! Missouri Sewing Machine Company: what do users think?
Kara Reiff: Wonderful ladies! Very knowledgeable and always there to help you and teach you.
Watermelon Soup (Lio): they said my repair would take six weeks. They had my sewing machine for a full FIVE MONTHS and never even began repairs. i was without my only source of income for half a year and i am still without it because they never even started to fix my machine, i am beyond angry
Jan Jasper: Customer service was outstanding. The amount of time the were willing to send with me to see that all my questions were answered. They were very knowledgeable.
Alice Renollet: Best place for new sewing machine or repair of old ones. Lots of seeing notions & not just the usual ones. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable
Connie Kelsey: Very helpful and love my new Janome 5300 QDC!
Shirley L Bonkoski: I drove 40 minutes to have someone put a light bulb in my Bernnia. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The lady was so rude. I was going to shop, it decided to go to Joanns. Don’t waste your time.
Cherron Clevenger: Good place to shop
Samantha Priddy: My machine is running like new! Great work and service, worth the wait for repairs. Great selection of sewing machines and super helpful staff.
Tim Thomas: Very helpful staff, very knowledgeable about sewing machines and sergers along with other sewing equipment.
Mom by Love Robart: Great service. They enjoy what they do and are very knowledgeable. They can send out even the oldest machines and bring them back working like new, for a price. I've been using them to service my serger and my straight stitch for 20 years.
Teresa Dearman: I took my husqvarna opal in for service and the lady got it back in alignment without sending it off..for a 8 week turn around.. So very Grateful!! With the pandemic going on it has brought all sewers out and people needing their machines serviced and taking So Long for turn around!!Thank you So Much for helping me!! This is where I will be purchasing my next machine and custom koala sewing table!! 😊💗
Shelly Frazier: Great friendly, knowledgeable service
Eve Hayes: The older lady in the store had a very bad attitude snapping snapping at her employee not really wanting to help just want to sell regardless of what was wrong with my machine she just wanted to sell
Charlie Fischer: Great stock on sewing needs
Gary Ford: Only place I'll let work on any of our sewing machines.
Glenda McEnaney: Knowledgeable staff. Caring and respect for older machine and of elderly owners who still use the older machines! A great appreciation for an art going lost. So sad, but this compa6keeps us old die hard still up and sewing! Great staff, professional and ....well, just practley perfect in every way! Great job guys!Oh, and I've got my favorite machine that needs a bit of help that I'll be bringing in soon. I know you can fix her! Thanks and see you soon.
Baiju john: Having been there for adjusting the dress sizes.
Brent Milam: Highly disappointed!! They say they work on all models?? Well, they don’t!! Then, when you drop off your machine with them they never call you back! They sent my machine out to a third party, charged me $900 to have it come back with new stickers, new throat plate, new thread guard, and not repaired!! It didn’t run and stitch regulator didn’t work.Needless to say, they refunded me the $900 after returning down there taking my machine back to them 5 times. The last visit was at my house after we picked it up and it still wasn’t working!! They actually left my machine in PIECES!! That’s when I complained to the owner and was compensated!I leave the choice up to you whether to trust their competence or not!! I’m not comfortable to return for service with any of my machines!!Update: This is a Voyager 17 long arm that was made by Hinterburg in Cedarburg Wisconsin!! Look them up on the internet!! NOT FRANKENSTEINED as they want to say!
lorrie sparks: Everytime I go, the service is beyond awesome. They share they're knowledge and experitise. Friendly and truly want you to enjoy your sewing experience.
Sandee Salisbury: Service was poor and unfriendly
Heather S.: Very impressed with the service here. They diagnosed an old machine and gave me a quote, sharpened pinking shears for me, and every time I've called with a question they've been very helpful. Will be bringing my newer machine in for service from now on,

Mr C's Vac & Sew: what do users think?
Teresa Zaner: I recently had problems with my old Kenmore sewing machine and talked to Mitch about it. He was able to diagnose the problem and walked me through the fix. I had had the machine in over a year ago for other issues and it was fixed and ready to go in a week. Had checked other repair shops and the wait time was ridiculous!!!! Have bought several vacuums there and have had repairs, too. Always friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Won’t go anywhere else.
Rene Kuhnhoff: Went looking for the lightweight Oreck.Ran into some issues attempting to purchase online. An online search led to Mr. C's. The person whom took the call took the time to answer all my questions.Walked out with a Riccar today. The shop will gladly allow you to test the product before buying. I like the way they do business they are certainly worthy of mine.
Melinda Musil: “Mr. C” is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. I wasn’t sure of the model number of my vacuum, but he asked me a series of questions (Upright? Fabric cover or plastic cover? Is the filter round or oval?) and went right to my vacuum. He’s friendly and he will do whatever he can to keep your vacuum working for years to come. He’s a hidden gem in our city. A+!
Brian Zevecke: A great place with a downhome feel where they still actually care about their customers! I would definitely recommend them they are very knowledgeable and helpful.
rtv 190: They have a tone of rare and hard to find parts, the employees were very helpful, and their selection is second to none.
BRUCE BLAUVELT: Time and money well spent.Vacume cleaner works great. Thanks for your help. Its good to meet you.
Chris Schaberg: Take all my needs whether it be repairs service or new purchase. Mr. C's does it all. Mike is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff. They will get all your vacuum needs taken care of. New used and rebuilt with warranties on their purchased products. Can't go wrong here.
Anthony Evangelista: Excellent service center friendly helpful staff.
Greg Thornhill: Brought in a carpet cleaner I was sure I had destroyed, they took a look and quickly noticed the problem. Now I can spill coffee as much as I like.
Fix-It_FPV: Didnt have what I needed, but he was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Definitely would return
Liza Renee: I had contacted your company inadvertently a couple of months ago thinking you were the place my sister had taken our family vacuum. I had also spoke to you about purchasing a unit for my business. I was so impressed with our conversation that when there was another issue with the vacuum, I suggested they take their vacuum to you. They left the unit with you. When you came back with a price of $500 to repair their unit, or the option of buying a used unit. My sister, who is disabled and living on a small disability, explained that she would discuss with her family the possibility of purchasing the used unit, as she was not able to pay the monies asked for the repair. I have a mother who is fighting for her life and each of us are pitching in the monies needed for her care. My parents are very poor. The vacuum is theirs and my sister lives there. We all try to provide for their needs. When my brother came to pick up the unit because we were unable to come up with the $500, your business returned the unit dissembled. I retract any good I might have thought of your company. They were at least able to use the unit, prior to it being in your hands, even if it were not an ideal way to use it. You should have at least returned it in the condition it came to you in. You really should be ashamed of yourself. Word of mouth is the best advertizement and word of mouth I will use. No Kudos to you or your company. Highly dissatisfied!!!!!!
John Maxwell: This Place is literally what all small businesses should be!! Friendly and Knowledgeable staff. Has everything you need. Sells top of the line products. This is a blast from the past when the little guy wins!!! I bought a Riccar R10s Vacuum over a year ago after a demo on site. WOW WOW WOW!!! Best purchase ever. I have three dogs, a cat and two teenagers and this vacuum cleans better than our Dyson's we owned previously. If you are in the market for a quality vacuum please don't go to any other place. The only stop is here at Mr. C's Vac and Sew.
Joy Prout: Good place to get your vacuum and sewing machine fixed.
Mike Mellen: I'm looking for the front roller for my basil power force baglees upright .Hopeing I can get one here cheaply
Susan Pool: Just moved in the area and had no idea who to call to fix my deluxe vacuum cleaner. He (Chris) is very helpful and knowledgeable! Customer service rated AWESOME!
irene downs: I found this gem after my old place I had been going to closed it's Independence location and moved ro Johnson County. Their expertise and knowledge are second to none and then add in an exceptional level of care and customer service. I can't recommend this place enough!!
Allan Williams: I always enjoy my visit to mr. C's. Very knowledgeable helpful and friendly. Go here first!
Mr. K: We have been going to Mr. C's for a long time. They have great products to clean and maintain your carpet. They have serviced our vacuums and cleaners many times. Pricing is fair and they know their business. I went in looking for a solution to problem we where having and they had the answer. If you need your cleaner or vacuum/shop-vac fixed, cleaned, or serviced drop it off. They will hook you up. If you need a new vac or cleaner, then check them out. They have top of the line stock.
David Grippy: Great service had the exact size belt I needed for my vacuum. After going all over town looking my belts, just go to Mr C's!
Michele BT: Mr. C’s is the only place I will go for vacuum repair, information or any other small appliance issue I have. They know everything about vacuums and carpet. We just purchased new carpet and my husband thought Dyson was the vacuum we should use. Mr C advised me our warranty would be void if we use a Dyson on the carpet we got. The manufacturer states in its online information that Dyson will damage the carpet and therefore they won’t cover anything on the rug. That was great to find out sooner then later. 😅. The staff is so helpful and for a vacuum geek like me, they give a ton of information. The prices are reasonable and they can fix any model any year ( that’s my words not theirs, but I think they can)If it’s your first time visiting it’s a little tricky to access from 23rd steet. You park in the back and enter through the back as well. It’s worth figuring out.
David Deckert: I actually wasn't wanting or expecting to buy a new vacuum but rather looking for some repair services. The associate was very knowledgeable and prompt in answering our questions. We ended up doing a quick belt repair on the old vacuum but also ended up purchasing a new Riccar vacuum. It took a little time to convince us that the purchase made sense but it's been a couple of weeks since our visit and they were right. If it's possible to enjoy vacuuming and a vacuum we are there....thanks for the sound advice!

They treated me as though I was valued. When I am in a spot to purchase my next machine I will be going through them!
Hailey Sipes: I had a great experience buying a new machine here. Sherrie assisted me. She asked what type of sewing I do and showed me machines in my budget. She pointed out which of their features were different and which would be helpful for me specifically. She even walked the new machine out to my car for me.
Madison Durham: I had my weird sewing machine (a Shark by Euro-Pro) serviced here and had a great experience! Because everyone is picking up new hobbies now, the waitlist for repairs was quite a while (7 weeks when I dropped mine off) but it was only 4 weeks before we got the call to pick it up! It's working great now and I am happy that I chose to fix it there; Now I know of a great local place to buy supplies from rather than the big box stores!

JOANN Fabrics and Crafts: what do users think?
Russell Primeaux: Alrighty then .
Michele Evink: The staff was genuine and helpful. In contrast to some other locations I've been to, this group actually cared and was helpful. So nice!
Sophia A: I always have such a great experience when I come here and find everything I need and more. I was in-and-out quickly with exactly what I needed but wanted to take the time to say thank you for people working there, like Wren. He is one of those special people you meet right away and know he is such a kind, generous, sweet human being. He made my whole day during my short little run. Thank you for being a part of the team!! :)
Mallory Fergason: I always have some of the best customer service experiences here. Their cashiers are always so kind - my recent shop there I was checked out by Wren who really brightened my day ☀️
Gloria LaFollette: Dirty, especially the bathroom. Outdated pattern books and the pattern drawers are almost empty.
Angie Zacharias: Always have what I need and more. CRAFTERS paradise.
amanda: I love joanns they have the best staff.
Kendra Young: Long lines
Michelle Marshall: This place has changed. It is a lot more than fabrics now. It is more like hobby lobby with all sorts of craft materials. I went to get paint brushes for pottery. They were buy one get one free! I spent $5 dollars and got 2 decent glaze brushes. The quality is better than other cheap brushes I have used.
Stacey Marie: The selection at this store was marvelous. It did seem that they are always running a 40% off special of some sort, considering the seasonal decor is overpriced. For the most part, the store was well organized. The bathrooms were not cleaned, but it was a Sunday and they were clearly short staffed with a very packed house. I do not recommend going on the weekend. There was 2 checkouts going...about a half hour in line. They do offer online ordering and in store pick up for 25% off. I will go back on a less busy day.
playalots: I’ve been going to this JoAnn location for years and there’s always this wonderful Hispanic gentleman that helps us out all the time. No matter of how busy or hectic it is the store, he is always pleasant and has a smile on his face.He lets us know of any good deals and coupons that are available and is very knowledgeable about the products. Besides the broad fabric selection, he’s the reason I keep coming back. We need more workers like him.
Walt S: Lots of sketch art supplies. Very knowledgeable staff when asking about different products. They even directed me to a coupon that saved me 60% today.
Teresa C: Plenty of everything. Not a lot of service. It seems everyone is just supposed to know how to shop here and how to get fabricVisible signs would definitely help a newcomer feel more welcome.
Mike Pangburn: This Joann is undergoing a management change and is a bit on the messy side. The employees are kind, hard working and will do whatever they can to help the customers get what is needed for their craft project.
C R: They alway seem to haveehat i need
Jon D Barnett: Lots of stuff, but i only go for the yarn.Too much emphasis on gimmicky discounts/coupons/sales. I always leave thinking I've been ripped off with high prices because I don't play their marketing games.
Sherri Johnson: We went for the basic sewing class. The teacher was excellent.
Angela Pope: A certain person that works in receiving is very rude and has very poor people skills it's really sad to see that person treat people so poorly......
C Coe: was only in long enough to get scissors
Teresa Whitworth: Love this store, great finds!
Ron Groves: They need staffing review only one register open I saw enuff staff there for another open checkout and still have store covered bead selection has diminished from couple years ago

The owners went out of their way to make our trip really great. Breakfast was nicely done. Patti is especially helpful with quilt questions. Cannot say enough about the comfy beds, thick towels and comforts you might not expect. I cannot wait to go back!
Kathryn Davis: I met Patti when I signed up for a T-Shirt Quilting Class. I learned so much from this class and Patti offered all her help for me to continue and finish my project. I continued to come on Monday Sewcial and loved it! I have several new friends and even joined the Monthly Strip Club. It has been so rewarding for me. I have made several new small quilts under Patti's direction and it has been truely a wonderful experience. Patti is a wonderful teacher! I look forward every week for new things to learn with my new friends. Highly recommended!
Chris Gierer: Patti is so helpful. With her guidance and support I was able to sew some dining room curtains for my house. I enjoyed the other crafters & quilters, ate some snacks, and had a great time at KC Maker Studio and Retreats.
Pam Heller: What a fabulous space! Plenty of room to do crafting or sewing in the basement. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious. It was close to fun restaurants and the sights of KC. I would recommend KC Maker Studio to anyone who wants a getaway retreat!
Judy Mischke: Dana and Patti were great hosts for our retreat. Great facility!
Lori Bain: The KC Makerspace is a fantastic retreat and teaching center. No only do you have GREAT hosts, Patti also teaches classes, hold sew ins and is an amazing Longarm quilter! On top of all of that - they also have a wonderful online Etsy shop. You won’t be disappointed with any time of the events they host!
Gail Allen: Sewing has filled a void for me. It brings me joy to create beautiful keepsakes for my family, friends and myself. This is made possible by the guidance of Patti Meier. Her studio has hosted several classes and Monday sewcial. Not only does Patti teach and guide me but all the people who attend the classes are creative and collaborative. I just love this place.
Priscilla Strube: This is absolutely a beautiful home! My friends and I did a quilting retreat there and it was amazing. The sewing area was well lighted, which is very important for sewers. The bedrooms were so comfortable and welcoming. The owner's, Dana and Patti are wonderful people. Dana bent over backwards to make our stay perfect. He even went fabric shopping for us! How many men would do that?!I highly recommend using KC Maker Studio and Retreat for you next event.I would highly recommend KC Maker Studio and Retreats for your next event.
Patti Baumgartner: Great place to learn to quilt. Patti is an amazing teacher. Fantastic choice of fabric to choose from. Every week something new comes in and I have trouble choosing which one to use for my next project. She offers long arm quilting services too.
Kylah Bierbrodt: I had Patti make a custom quilt and it turned out better than I could have imagine. She was able to take my ideas and gave helpful insight of how to make it work. She also surprised me by adding a detail to the stitching to make it even more personal. I am highly recommending her and will seek out her services for any future quilts I want to make.

Richlin Fabrics: what do users think?
Joy Garcia: Couldn't even get in because they only sell to businesses.
Rondi Anderson: For wholesale only. Very good at what they do.
Julie H: I have been ordering fabric from Laura Samet with Richlin Fabrics for the past several years and love doing business with her. Doesn't matter if I'm sending a question or an order she responds to my emails immediately. I've always received a quick turnaround time and my orders have always been accurate.
little threads: I placed an order with Richlin fabrics and we received one bolt in a broken box and re taped I ordered 6 bolts and I received only one. They shipped by Fedex , I called Richlin immediately to let them know the situation. They will going to pack my goods and ship and charge again my credit card. while they solve the problem with Fedex. We had recently the same situation in my business , we shipped to a customer their order and the box got lost with USPS, the customer called looking for a tracking number and I found out about the lost package. Immediately we repacked their order of my customer and we shipped their order. I never asked for the customer to pay back again while I found out and put a claim with the carrier. I have never heard of a customer service so bad as Richlin, they want to charge my credit card twice while they take their time to find out with Fedex what happened with the rest of the goods. I spoke with the owner and I am amazed that a person in business can deal with a situation so poorly.
Rhonda Barber: I have done business with them for approximately 3 yrs maybe 4. They are always very nice to work with. Also helpful when looking for something outside the box. I can’t say enough.
connie ratzlaff: Loved it
Cheryl Wyrick: Great place to save money!
Conni Begeman: Great
Fahren Green: Great place to acquire fabric of you buy several bolts.
Jill Petersen: Fabrics are good. Watch out for the shipping charges! Almost double what I was quoted and much higher than other wholesale suppliers. Put me in real trouble with my business.
Dan Novak (Prime Time Real Estate): Its awesome. Best selection in the world
Susi Matthews: Fabric at Wholesale prices in the warehouse (one must have a tax ID number to shop there) north of the river. Nice people & two shop dogs in residence. Great selection!
Tom H: If you are in the business, this is the place to go. Very friendly staff (and dogs)
Heather Loewenstein: Staff is always helpful and the stock is great.
Alexander Dyer: This place is cool, you got to buy a certain amount but if you need bolts of fabric there is a good selection and the quality is pretty fair.

Harper's Fabric & Quilt Co: what do users think?
Taylor Westfall: Took a hand embroidery class with Jackie and absolutely loved it! The shop is adorable and the class was affordable and informative. Will definitely return.
Lucy Hoffman: This store has some cute fabric! I’m giving it a below average rating because I feel like the service is poor. When I was younger, I took a sewing class and the instructor was very… cold and nit-picky. If you have a beginner wanting to learn, I feel like the classes would turn them off from ever learning. Maybe they’re better for people who already know how to quilt and just want to meet people? Anyways, I returned recently to browse and wasn’t greeted at all. When I went to the counter to ask a question about a machine, the lady was short and condescending. I’m disappointed because I love how warm the sewing community usually is, and I love to shop small, but Harper’s leaves me wanting to run to JoAnns instead.
Debbie Stanton: They had replacement bobbins and needles that I wasn't able to get where I get my machine fixed. Glad to know I have somewhere else to get my sewing machine accessories.
Alycia Maurer: They maintenanced my Viking sewing machine at a very reasonable cost and with quality workmanship. I love to buy fabric and notions for my Viking machines there. Looking at taking a class!
Kortney Mettle: This is a great shop and I really enjoyed the class I took. You can tell, they know their customers and community very well, everyone that came in was treated as family. The selection of fabrics, is fantastic, they seem to have something for everyone and are willing to lend a hand as needed.Happy to take more classes soon!
Kastian “Kas” Slayton: Good but pricey
Richard VanDyke: Large inventory of everything wanted and exceptional staff.
Pat Vaughn: Good variety of fabric and patterns
rrw jes: I have shopped and learned at Harper’s for 25 years and love this gem of a shop. I feel inspired the moment I walk in the door by the proliferation of color, art, and imagination! The knowledgeable instructors have helped me improve my construction techniques so my garments fit perfectly and my fabric creations look beautiful. They carry some whimsical fabrics I haven’t seen elsewhere. Elaine taught me the secret to interfacing and stocks unique products I didn’t know I needed until I used them. I feel at home here among the sewists.
Audrey Martin: Beautiful shop, friendly people working I loved to variety
Claudia Tang: Great! Super friendly, a big store with lots of space to spread out. Very clean and bright. Fat quarters are displayed right next to their line/similar lines. I went to pick up a print that I saw on their Facebook page, and I honestly thought it would be more expensive than it was. Maybe I'm used to much more expensive independent quilt shops, or markups for brand names (this was moda), or who knows. Also easy to get to and walk around. There's easy parking nearby. Will come again, will probably take a class and get my machine serviced here and my scissors sharpened. One thing-they don't take American Express. This is pretty common so I'm not gonna count it against them, it's just something to know, if that's what you have.
Erica Rainae: Simple easy fast
Suzanne Maschler: I moved here from Oregon, where I had an outstanding Husqvarna machine dealer. Returning to Kansas, I struggled to find someone who knew anything about my machine. Yes, Joanns knew a little....but were hard to deal with and Missouri Sewing machine was very accomodating, but again...knew little about my machine. So happy to find Harpers! They are very knowledgeable and accommodating. whew!
Kim Gerber: I love this place! This quilt shop makes me happy. I visit the shop typically once a week, check out the latest fabrics. Last Sunday's visit, there were plenty of quilts displayed on the walls, along with beautiful fabric choices, as we move into the new year. I was a bit confused trying to pick a fabric for my class. I was helped so well, as she helped me choose a few fabrics that would look nice together. Caring and thoughtful. I have taken Friday studio classes , a big stitch hand sewing class, currently taking in a Little Jo quilt class, an all day beginner sewing class, a paper piecing mini quilt class. All instructors are hugely helpful, encouraging, and know their craft well. I have a 1965 Singer sewing machine that needs a tune up every so often. Harper's keeps my Noni's sewing machine in tip top shape. My sewing machine is cast iron. Weighs a ton. I am able to call ahead, borrow a sewing machine to use for a class. During the summer time, I enjoy seeing all the young people taking summer sewing classes, creating fun projects. It is not always easy to be a small business, local owner, trying to do their best to serve their patrons well. Most appreciated and thank you!
Rose Barrow: Great shop. Wide open and loaded with fabric, notions and machines. The sewing classroom was awesome. Highly recommend.
Lynn Liikala-Seymore: Always motivating. Staff are genuinely helpful.
Gayle Morris: Wife and daughter took class and please with teacher ,Mary. Very knowledgeable and patience with beginners.
Karla DeLoach: I like the layout of the store. But both times that I have been there the reception has been lacking. I would recommend for the actual products they have but the customer service was rude enough that I will go to the other store's. I shop quilt/fabric stores all over the country, so I'll be fine looking for products.
Denise Murphy: If you want to quilt or take quilting lessons, this is the place to go. They have wonderful classes and their inventory of fabric is unbelievably vast. Steak it new patterns, new Fabrics, new books all the time. So there's always something new to look at, or, TO BUY! Very knowledgeable people and very friendly.
Dianne Kester: Very nice shop with lots of beautiful fabric. But l walked no one to welcome me, I wandered around for about 5 min. No one ever came to the front. This was my first time in the store customer service very bad. I finally had to go to the rear of store to find help. Too bad. It is very good selection of fabric.
Jessie Mehl: I like the many projects they put on display. It's not a huge shop, but they have a good assortment of fabric and quilting items.

Missouri Sewing Machine Company: what do users think?
Shirley Barrand: I drove in from Lawrence arrived at 4:30 and the business was not open and I couldn’t even find out by phone because they wouldn’t nobody would answer the phone.Thank you for your response. It wasn't Saturday when I arrived, it was a weekday. A Wednesday or Thursday as I recall. I was shocked, but all is forgiven now, and I WILL return. I know how (ahem!) STUFF can happen in this crazy world!! LOL!!! ;-)
Dilda Curtis: Took my sewing machine in because of a problem with the bobbin area. The technician was able to fix it while I waited. The two young ladies who waited on me were very kind and helpful! I loved this shop and was so happy I went there with my machine.
Dan Assal: They are the best in the industry
Tammy Hall: Beware! I took my sewing machine in to get serviced in January, they said it should be done in 4 wks. After 6 wks I called & they said it would be ready for pick up the following week. I was excited to get started on my new grands quilt! After a couple of weeks I started sewing with the machine & noticed a 1.5" scuff mark on the front, as if it was hit, dropped, something. I called to let the manager know, there wasn't anything they could do. At that time it seemed to be sewing correctly. Sure enough, after I told her it was sewing properly the bottom tension was off (part of the problem in the beginning & they replaced the bobbin part). I did call back to let them know I'd be bringing it in for them to look at it. When I took the machine back in, the manager played with the tension & was able to get the tension correct. After sewing an hour, the tension was off again. I took it back in .... 3rd times a charm right?!? Since it was over 30 days, the manager was going to charge me! I was shocked.... especially since something happened the first time I brought it in. I get the 30 day policy, but when the store damaged the machine to begin with.... you'd think they'd comp the additional fee & make it right.
Ranae Martin: I had to order a new power cord for my machine. I called the number for the Lenexa location. The staff person that answered was extremely helpful and took my order. A few days later, I had my machine running again!
Linda Risley: I had my sewing machine fall apart and the representative from the store that took my call looked up the schematic and guided me thru the process to fix my machine over the phone! I will give all my business to this company in the future!!
Cheroquirose Designs: Bought my Janome there & love it. On-site staff helpful with problems & questions....Definitely recommend.
Cheryl Baker: Have been going here for years. They are so helpful.
Karyn Maytorena: Problem fixed over the phone. I can't express my gratitude enough. I know without a doubt I can count on MSMC to help me out long after my purchase. Thank you Emily, Jamie, and everyone at both locations. Making a note in my manual so this doesn't happen again.
Pamela Poag: Fixed my Janome quickly and reasonably. Helpful 1 on 1 classes was great. People were helpful and friendly
Kathy McCullough: Really regretting my purchase. Purchased a machine and rolling case. Had to order the case as I didn't want the floor model. Was told it would take 3-4 days. After 3 weeks I called. They said they'd check on it, called the next day said it was in. I pick it up and when I get it home it was the floor model they gave me. They did make it right on the case. Was told when I bought the machine the classes would start back up in a couple weeks. I purchased the machine 2 months ago and have heard nothing on the classes. I also purchased the protection plan. So they have my money and I guess that's what matters to them and what they said about providing classes isn't a priority of honoring what they told me. Very disappointed in this company
Diane Mckoon: Very wonderful service, great staff very knowledgeable, WILL NOT take or buy sewing machines from Any other place! Love this place!
Dianne Patterson: Never answered my email about products in their store and sale info. I've upgraded my review. After this was seen they found my email, answered my questions and offered personal assistance when I do get to the store.
Maureen Goddard: I took in a very old machine to see if it could be cleaned/fixed. Cris took time to explain that, unless this was an heirloom that I was trying to restore, my money would be better spent towards a newer machine rather than one that's 80 years old. I appreciated her candor and her willingness to educate me. It cost me nothing. I appreciate that she took the time and saved me the 85.00 cleaning fee. Will go back for future needs.
Jenny Chonko: Very helpful, thanks gals!
monty amick: Awesome friendly helpful people!
Eileen McGee: Marsha was very helpful and demonstrated a machine that I was interested in but was uncertain about operating since it was definitely an upgrade to the machine I have been using. I am pleased with my experience and purchase.
Bianca Hines: They tuned my sewing machine but lost the spool holder. My machine is a 45 years old machine and had the original parts. Make sure to remove attachments you want to keep before submitting your machine for repair.
Kirsten M. Phillips: I can find what I need for my sewing here.
Kathy Anderson: Great products, great service!
Stephanie Fugitt: Very nice & knowledgeable ladies!
