Matt Wiegert: I've stayed at quite a few holiday inn expresses, but this one is one of the better ones. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and want. The location is literally 2 blocks away from the Power and Light district. Parking is secure and safe. It's just off of the interstate. Hotel very clean, breakfast plentiful and fresh, and you feel welcomed being there.

Bowie: I am literally blown away by my experience at the Holiday Inn. Stayed here on a Friday night after driving all day. Location is perfect, a very short walk to the Power and Light district that had a live, free concert going on until late at night. Fresh baked cookies at the front desk as usual... the building itself is very old/neat but you can't tell when you walk inside, especially in the rooms, which are fantastic and huge ! Very modern, great city view, very comfy beds. Then the breakfast... literally the best hotel breakfast I have EVER had. And the best part of the entire stay was the hospitality from the staff. The lady working in the breakfast area welcomed us with "love and kindness" and even sang us a funny song she made about the Holiday Inn. What a great way to start the morning, I really hope Holiday inn provides for this lady because wow, what an amazing employee and person all around. Thank you!!!!

Alejandro Fernandez: I had the opportunity to stay at this location during a road trip, and I was truly impressed by the staff’s attentiveness. I exclusively used Holiday Inn hotels on this trip, and this particular location stood out for its exceptional service. The staff were superlatively great - polite, courteous, and proactive in communicating with me to check on my needs before, during, and after my stay. As usual, the breakfast was outstanding. The team made me feel as though I was staying in a 5-star hotel!

Louis House: Julie and the sandy blonde male manager really helped us out. Both kept our room clean and towels flowing. Also the water pressure at this location is amazing. The rooms are great. Lost power for a night, which is why I gave it four stars. Turns out the outlet power strip tripped and had to be turned back on from too many devices hooked up. All and all will definitely stay here again.PS literally 10 to 15 minutes away from everything in KC

These two are the most classless, unprofessional individuals, and definitely have left a negative impression on your brand. We will never stay at another Holiday Inn because of these two tyrants! Sami Peterson: This hotel is in a great location about 2-3 blocks from a streetcar station, and lots of restaurants that are walkable. when you walk in to the hotel is very well done and they have nice interactive stands with maps for thing to do. On top of having multiple restaurants, there is a nice hotel store for smaller purchases, which is always handy.

Bill Welty: Apparently the Crowne Plaza has zero interest in their guest’s privacy. We were startled by our room being entered at 7:45 am. Only to find out it was housekeeping entering the room unannounced. After complaining to the front desk, our booking website the manager KB has called and my hope was some type of resolution…NOPE! He called to say it didn’t happen.HA! My advice…Avoid this property!!Isolated incident you say? NOPE! We were traveling with 3 other couples. All staying on different floors. All reported the same issue.

Gary Neal: We have stayed at this hotel four times now. As IHG members I have never been more disappointed in a hotel especially at the cost per night. The hotel publishes it has a hot breakfast but that has not been the case on two of our visits (not sure if they served it on the other days as we left too early for a flight). The staff are nice.

Collin Rekowski: The hotel room and facilities were nice enough. However, being falsely accused of breaking a television made this the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Because this was a business trip, the company I work for was charged 600$ for a tv that I didn't break. This could have easily cost me my job and a company sponsored college education. If you choose to stay at this hotel, be sure to take pictures of your room before and after your stay so you can prove your innocence when they try to swindle you.

Josh Kaiser: Room upkeep is awful. Broken tiles in bathroom floor easy to cut your feet on, patch repairs in room are really tacky looking, the cabinet door for the fridge area wouldn’t stay shut had to prop a trash can in front of it to keep it closed. The drain for the tub is rusty and partially clogged, the maids didn’t even attempt to fix it. When we checked in the toilet was plugged up, had to get a plunger to fix it ourselves. If you go here, be careful walking in, there is a giant tile missing in the entry way. Massive tripping hazard.The swimming pool is out of service, no big deal to me but I can’t help but wonder for how long and why now. Especially in Kansas City were it can get hot and really muggy. So heads up there if you have kids or plan on cooling off after a long day. The lady at the check in desk was nice, the proximity to the stadiums was nice too, about the only positives I can really dig up from this place.The room was not serviced the first day there. Went to ask why because we were gone in plenty of time for the maids to make their round, only to be informed it needed to be requested. There was no mention or note of this anywhere. When it was serviced, trash was not emptied, the hotel tray for breakfast was left in the room no idea why this is usually grabbed, toilet paper was not refilled nor was tissue paper.Getting to the hotel is quite the experience as well. It is right off the highway. Your GPS orMaps will just say turn right. There is no true turn lane and no warning the hotel is coming up, it’s just there suddenly. Getting out can also be a tricky too. It’s a one way highway still getting out.This place seems to be quite the hangout too. There was always a cab or some sort of individual there to hangout and BS with the people at the desk. Security seems a little lax.Overall, the desk people are nice, and the proximity to the stadiums is nice, but you can definitely do better when looking for a Holiday Inn Express in the Kansas City area. I will not stay here again.

T S: Our king suite room for two nights was okay, but the bathroom was very small and in desperate need of an update. We left our room at 9:30am., returned at 4pm., and there was no daily room service performed as advertised. We chose this Holiday Inn because of its location to Starlight and brand name. This is the second stay of three recent at a Holiday Inn that have been below expectations. When I asked the desk about daily room service as advertised, I was told the website was outdated.Update. The front desk staff this morning provided fresh towels, were very accommodating, and apologized that housekeeping did not refresh the room.Nearly 500 dollars with taxes for two nights was not a good value.
Trae Brown: Pretty disappointed this has holiday inn name…. I travel frequently and this was worst holiday Inn I’ve stayed at. First room I got smelled awful so they changed me to another. The desk chair in the room wouldn’t go up or down, the padding was so worn out I sat in it and could feel the metal on bottom of the cushion.. I have to fold a pillow just to sit on the chair somewhat comfortably. Not only that the chair was dirty and had stains on it I covered it with a towel. The TV is small and the direct TV service was garbage couldn’t even watch tv at night without it popping up with the little status bar searching for signal before it just turns off. Had to watch Netflix on my phone. The breakfast which is main reason I stay at holiday inn was the worse.. not many selections, no pancake machine and just below subpar for a breakfast. To say the least it’s in need of some serious upgrades.
Chrystal Tyler: Wow, not sure where to start. The hotel is in an odd place and not near much. It is a bit dated, but clean enough for the age. Our air conditioner was leaking and had a consistent wet spot on the floor. The main issue is that you have to call for service each day. No one told us, so by the time we called on Day 2 it was too late. We asked on Day 2 for service on Day 3 and still did not get it. For 4 days we did not get room service despite asking. We were away during the day, but when we got back the evening crew was not in yet. On Day 4 we finally got room service, after us escalating the issue again. Very limited toiletries were given. The soap provided is so small it lasts for literally 1 bath. The only decent item was breakfast, but you better get their early for somethings do not get restocked. I would not recommend for others.
Brandi Reaves: PRICELINE gets -0 points, they should give us points! They said this was a casino/hotel deal- you book and they reveal after finding best option. There’s not a casino anywhere close and after reading the reviews - poor hotel, feel bad bc the people were really friendly but almost every review says bad bad bad and the google reviews showed 2 star. It is what it is, wouldn’t plan on coming here but if your a local and need somewhere warm to stay and Priceline screws you over for $130 bucks I guess it’s alright. So far haven’t seen anything anyone’s mentioning but didn’t really wanna start looking. I didn’t have to stay, my friend did.

Elizabeth Lott: The front staff here is amazing. I didn’t realize it until I went to check in that the pool was closed for repairs. My child burst into tears because what’s a hotel to a child without a pool. The front desk was very accommodating to helping me switch to another IHG hotel with an open pool that was nearby. The folks on the IHG phone-line were also very helpful and didn’t make me feel snotty for switching. I highly recommend this hotel and also becoming a member of the IHG rewards program.

As we check in, we find out that you have to schedule a time to visit the pool. Never mentioned this when we booked. Then we find out that the schedule is full and now we don't even get to go swimming. It's the SOLE reason we booked this place.Our kids were devastated and crying. It's also dirty and has a musty smell. It seems like it's an old hotel that holiday inn bought and painted it brown. There might have been blood on the light. Chris Bickley (C-beezy): Had a good stay here. The room had a microwave, fridge and a tub separate from the shower which had water jets! Gave the feel of a small hot tub. Unfortunately it was extremely loud and could bother guests. It's hard to find rooms with a microwave and fridge combo so this was a plus. Pricing was cheaper than other hotels in the area that didn't have those 3. I attended a convention and the location was only 6 mins away from the convention center and there were plenty of BBQ and food places within a few miles of the hotel. I have stayed in about 4 to 5 different hotels in Kansas and this one has been the best for those on a budget.Food & drinks: Great BBQ spot nearby Gates BBQ. Close to wendys and McDonald's.

Elena Plackis: My car got stolen the first night at this hotel.The police station said that this location had a regular history of car thefts and pulled up a different incident even from 4 weeks prior. There are no cameras outside.The staff was apologetic at first but then very rude to me multiple times afterwards—they offered a few nights compensated to try to make amends and then charged me the whole amount after I checked out. I had to follow up 7 times over the span of a week to get the refund and fix the bill back to the initial amount I even agreed to pay. They were extremely rude about it—they put me on hold and the line disconnected, took down my number and said they would call back then didn’t, they were angry on the phone. I wish I had left.Don’t stay here.

Mercy: I don't think I've ever left a 1 star review but there's so many issues. So we check in and she tells us there will be a $100 deposit for the night. Not an issue because I think at least we'll get it all back but as soon as finished charging the card she mentions that they're going to charge parking so we won't get part of it back. There were stains on the couch/chair, sticky spots on the side table, dust on furniture and little spots on the bedding. Only certain buttons on the remote work. Finally got it to work so I could leave it on all night and hopefully drown out the loud dog barking and other noises. I couldn't even wash my hands properly because they had no soap. Ended up leaving feeling gross. Can't say how the breakfast was since they charge for breakfast and I wasn't gonna give them any more money.

Crystal Waller: The hotel itself was nice. We checked in on Monday and checked out on Thursday. Housekeeping never once came to our room during our stay. I had to go down to the lobby and ask for more toilet paper and towels. There was never anyone working the bistro while we were there, and they said they had breakfast available every morning until 9:30. However, we went down to get the breakfast, and there was nothing.
Niki V.: Nice hotel for the price point however, the communication across the board from staff to guests is lacking, BIG TIME! The shower stopped working unexpectedly, due to an unexpected issue on their end. When I called the front desk about the issue, the front desk representative, informed me they had been waiting on the part to correct the issue, ALL DAY! If that's the case, they pretty much had all day to communicate to guest, that the water would be temporarily shut off, at some point. They didn't offer any sort of credit or discount, and I was extremely late for my outing that evening. I understand these issues happen from time to time, but if you know you've been waiting on a part for the entire day, that's plenty of time to communicate something to guest. I have 14 years of hospitality experience and never in my hotel career, would I have failed to communicate something like this to guest.
