Eben Fowler: I invited six different companies to provide proposals for the replacement of our main furnace/air conditioning unit, which had served us well for more than 30 years.Greg Latshaw, one of Midwest's 'Comfort Advisors,' came to our home and carefully measured and inquired about our needs. He spent a fair amount of time working on three separate recommendations for a system, based on various levels of efficiency. He was one of the few whose proposal included details about rebates from Evergy and the equipment manufacturer, Lennox in this case.After carefully comparing the six proposals, Midwest came up to the top. None of the proposals were inexpensive, but Midwest's proved to be the best value, in part because of the extra work Greg did to present rebates that helped mitigate the high cost somewhat.Our installers worked extremely well as a team. Each had his list of responsibilities, one working in the basement to remove the old furnace and coil, the other outside removing the old compressor, and then each working on installation of the new equipment. They then worked together to finish the details and test the system, and every aspect of their handiwork was done with pride...cables and drain hoses neatly installed and wire-tied for a very clean and professional final project.They had to return a few days later to install new thermostats that weren't initally available, as well as new humidiers (including one for the existing smaller system that serves the upper level), and then return a third time when I requested a change, the installation of a wireless thermostat gateway. Each time they came they were right on time, which is something I value greatly and the primary installation was completely finished on the first day. They also made sure the floors and stairs down to the basement were covered when the old equipment was hauled out and the new brought in. And, they slipped on shoe covers every time they came in until those covers were laid down.So when it's time to replace the smaller upstairs unit, I won't be calling six companies, but will call the best, Midwest! L&K Hardwoods: Our old system but the dust and we had to pull the trigger on a new one a couple of days ago. After working with Greg and his install crew I feel as if I overthought this process. They were fantastic to work with and exceeded all of our expectations. The man is a perfectionist and a professional. It's nice to know there are still people who take pride in their work. We did run into a problem with the air conditioner compressor, and Doug was at our house immediately to deal with it. He is a man of old school integrity whose word I trust. DK Riley: I called about a part that if purchased online thru Patricks, would have been $201 plus tax and shipping ($228 at check out) but for the trouble of driving down to Patrick's and enduring their rude customer service I can get that same part for $270 plus tax. When I pointed that out on the phone they offered it to me for $240 plus tax. As a local HVAC contractor we are always looking for the best deal. The last time we came into Patrick's the counter guy was very rude - he kept announcing loudly it's free today it's free today. Nothing is free sir. We used to have Patricks in our top 3 sources for parts and stopped even looking at them as an option due to the rudeness and very skewed pricing. We decided to give Patrick's another try, just nope it's not worth it. I'd rather pay a higher price for fair and transparent business practices and be treated with respect than come back to Patricks.

Bart Wahlgren: Our furnance broke down on a Saturday morning. A Google search found the store as a possiblity of having the part I needed. Talked to Craig over the phone to confirm that they had some in stock. Thankfully they were still open long enough for me to get there to purchase the part. It saved us a pretty large amount of money versus having a repairman come out on a weekend.Also purchased some spares so when they fail in the future we'll be prepared. Keynan Williams: Worst service company I have ever dealt with even after dealing with many from my days in construction. We rented a property in Overland Park. Middle of July 2021 AC just stopped cooling completely. It was 90+ in the house. They come out a WEEK later on instruction from our landlord’s mgmt company because that’s the earliest they could. After many hours the tech and assistant who apparently had 10 years experience couldn’t figure it out. They decided it was a coil finally. Then told me they would schedule me when they had a “new opening“ to put the coil in... 2 Full weeks go by. He comes back out, puts coil in and still doesn’t work. Then says it’s frozen over and needs to thaw it so he turns on HEAT. It was 98 in the house now. Doesn’t work. Said sorry it’s 5pm I’m off for the day they will schedule another appointment. Weeks later They bring out a tech with “30 years” experience. He can’t figure it out and says “you just need more blinds on the windows it’s probably bad insulation” and LEAVES and tells me I don’t have his experience and closes the work order with the mgmt company. Between each of the 4 visits they put us on the BACK of the schedule which makes no sense as if we were a new work order. Never had a contractor run like that. And when I questioned this, the office lady was RUDE as can be and said i wasn’t special and could wait my turn again. Worst experience we have ever had. I’ll note that the other company we called out on our own had it diagnosed and fixed within the week after this. And he came out the next day after getting the part in not on the back end of his schedule. E and R heating and cooling is the good one.Service:A/C system repair

Estrella Gonzalez: Scheduling an appointment and having the pro come out was great! However, they are not upfront about pricing. I was told it would be $75 over the phone and then after the service was done I was charged something way different. In addition, when I called to make an appointment I was assured that it would not be charged extra if it was a simple fix, which it was. No tools were even used during the visit. All the pro did was properly close the door to the furnace. The visit did not even last longer than 30 minutes. Manager called me and was rude over the phone. Not sure why he even bothered to give me a call back if he wasn't going to do anything about the discrepancy behind the pricing. I could've gone with Hometown Heroes Heating and cooling who were going to charge me $85, but I decided to go here instead because it was a cheaper when I was led to believe it was only going to be $75. Ehab Sarsour: I used Aaron's services for the last two years, I will mention the good the bad and then the ugly. When I started using their service they were great on time reasonable pricing and professional, they installed vents in my house and fixed leaking pipe and I signed up for their AC/furnace preventive maintenance for the last two year. The first year they did a very good job on the maintenance they took their time and checked everything and were great at explaining things, then the bad started with the second maintenance where the owner himself had to come out and redo it because the technicians that showed up did not do anything and left caps on the compressor out. Then I decide to add ducts for the basement they gave me a reasonable price and came on time to do it, but they did very poor job and I have to get another professional to fix all the leaky ducts they installed. Now to the ugly despite the bad HVAC duct installation I already have the maintenance contract paid for the winter and during the job they burned my blower motor, while they did install a new one, the new one was loud and it seem it dose not have much power as the older one. After the blower become so annoying I decided to call and complain about it, they said we need to come and do the summer maintenance and check the blower, when they came they denied the even change the blower and said it is fine and blame it on my filter which by the way is a high quality filter and not a store regular one, then they said the AC low on gas and they I have to pay for checking leaks I said go ahead and check, and they said there is a leak and suggested to fix, or replace, and charge me $400 just for the diagnosis. They send me prices for the fix fix that were so expensive and another huge price for replacement. I went out and I got second opinion and guess what their is no leak and my AC is actually works and it registered little low on gas because it was just a cold day, and the new company even did performance test and found the AC have great temperature coming out of the vents vs. in (10-15 degrees). Todd Carter: It was determined that the house needed to have the main sewer line replaced due to deterioration. The line was old cast iron and was in bad shape. Had several bids for the work to be done and Aaron's was by far the cheapest option by thousands of dollars. The job involved jackhammering the basement floor, cutting up and removing the cast iron pipe, replacing the pipe, and cementing the floor back into place. From start to finish the technicians were very professional, efficient and friendly . They finished the work in 1 1/2 days just as they projected. They tarped the entire basement to minimize the dust from the work. After the job was complete they cleaned the area. Overall it was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend them. Brian Duncan: An overall excellent experience. I was quoted about $8,000 for a furnace and and 3 ton central air replacement from two other hvac companies. Garrett was able to do the furnace and a 3.5 ton central air replacement for significantly less by using a lesser known brand. Both units are working great and the AC is significantly quieter than our old unit. Garrett explained the differences between the different types of units, and came up with a great affordable solution. He was punctual, tidy and delivered exactly what he quoted upfront. Mason Murphy: I used R Mech last year when my water sourced heat pump was acting up. Though R Mech is a self-described expert in heat pumps, the first technician said my thermostat just needed replaced, so I was disappointed when it proved to be a misdiagnosis after purchasing and installing a new one with same issue. When they came back out to try again, it was obvious the new technician did not have experience with this type of heat pump and was struggling to interpret his own diagnostic codes, so all in all I paid $99 for no accurate diagnosis, and wasted time.
