Mark Sandercock Furniture Restoration: what do users think?
Michele BT: I sent a text message (a contact method the owner suggested) and got no response. I sent another, still nothing. I called and got a voice message system, still no reply. I’m wanting to get my grandparents furniture stripped and brought back to life. I only can share before photos because he’s not responding
Catherine Hamelin: He is open for business.
Cole Hillenbrand: Does not return calls. Unbelievable unreliable.
Ken Losey: Mark did a superb job of restoring my parents' spinet desk from about the 1930's. If I didn't have pics of the before and after, I wouldn't believe how stunning the desk looks now compared to what it was. His attention to detail (down to every screw and hinge) was impossible to ignore. As he said to me when I picked it up, "I kindof got carried away." May he always get so carried away when he works on your piece.
Webster: Mark does good work but at his best is unreliable and slow. He made and missed multiple appointments and quit returning calls. The work he did do when he got around to doing it was good and reasonable priced. I always paid his asking price without dickering.

Peter Kohl Restoration: what do users think?
Luke Kohl: Excellent work. Busy man. Best there is. Anyone or any family who has a Peter Kohl original is going to bank one day since most of this man's catalog will be sold at Christies or Sothebys Auction Houses in the future. So when you want to be cheap, remember who is doing you the favor of charging you 50% less than he should ever charge. All you Kansas Citians who reduced his asking price, I hope you feel proud of yourself. You not your family will ever recover such a deal. If you were Los Angelenos you would paying 1,000% mark up and you would still be lucky you met a master global artist. So.important that Butch Rigby bought the building where his shop is located. Thank God for.your blessings and that you actually met a global icon. You are so lucky. Don't take it for granted. Peace.
John Ritz: Positive:QualityPeter's storefront is not much to look at, but the work that he does for you is top-notch. We've had antique dining room chairs repaired and he recently refinished the table-top of our dining room table from the same antique set - looks fabulous. Great work by Peter and his crew!
Jennifer Baskind: Our movers basically destroyed an antique walnut library table and Peter was able to put it back together and refinish it. It looks so beautiful now and you can’t tell where the repairs were made. He also had to do a repair on an antique armoire side panel that cracked. Done perfectly. Woodsons Antiques recommended him as they use him for repairs. I have some other pieces that were banged up during the move and a dining table I want to refinish so plan on using him again soon.
Cole MYERS: Peter does amazing work and he is a joy to be around. I trust him with the pieces I own and sell which are extremely valuable - Here's the photo of an 18th century English desk and bookcase in the manner of Chippendale after Peter's intervention. He replaced very fine strips of astragal moldings on the window panes, stabilized the top tier, and waxed the piece. He also repaired an 1820s mahogany chair that a visitor to my gallery on First Fridays accidentally broke in half. Impossible to tell that ever happened. He helped replace fine pieces of missing molding on a circa 1690 two tiered buffet, and he replaced a very fine rim of semi-circular moulding that went around the top of an 1820s roundtable that I sold.No matter how simple, complicated, or seemingly impossible the repair- Peter has been able to do it and has always treated me very well with the bills.I full heartedly recommend Peter. He has gone out of his way to help me and I look forward to continuing to work with him.
Erin Nelson: Terrible work!

Tudor Woodworks: what do users think?
John Hocevar: We had Tudor woodworks restore one of my grand parents pieces. They did a fantastic job we will definitely be using them again soon.
David Anderson: Stay away from this business. I had a mirror repaired. I was given a highly inflated estimate of what the mirror was worth and I suspect what the repair cost. When I initiated the repair the owner said that he would help me get leads to market it. He failed to provide any information. His numbers were not a bit off but wildly off. He could see that I was not knowledgeable about antiques and furniture but rather than develop me as a happy repeat customer, he decided to cheat me.Take your business elsewhere.
Shannon Gettles: Stuart repaired a sentimental wood sculpture for me. He has a good knowledge of his craft and dedicated to quality. Repaired and cleaned up the sculpture looks better than it ever has. Sentimental memories safe and sound.
justin bilombele: Amazing work on several of our family heirlooms.
Benoit Studios: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueAmazing work they did on a family piece that I thought was not repairable it was so bad.
timothy mcnulty: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Barri: I left my furniture and $1000 (he insisted in half up front) with Stuart for him to refinish some tiki furniture. This was at the beginning of lock down. I have never heard back from Stuart. I did however after several attempts reach his assistant ZACK who said he would call me back with an update. I have never heard back from him. If I don’t hear back soon, I am going to assume he stole my furniture and my money. Terrible business.
Paige Motzkus: Stuart restored my grandparents furniture after a fire. My extended family has said it looks better than before the fire. Absolutely beautiful work. I would recommend him for any furniture restoration work. I could not be more thrilled to have my grandparents furniture back in my house looking absolutely beautiful!
Darlene lee: Stewart Brown restore my buffet. It has been in my family since 1946. It was restore like new. It made tears come to my eyes. If I were you I would call him to restore your furniture.
kcandrod boyce: Stuart has a skill for restoring woodwork that is fantastic. I recently inherited a table from my Grandmother and it was in rough shape. I brought it to Stuart about a year ago and he restored it into amazing condition. He told me it's from late 1600s and Dutch. It had been poorly restored about 100 years ago and a lot of the marquetry on top was popping up. He is extremely attentive to detail and puts the hours into the work. It definitely shows. He had to detective through what type of wood was used on top so he could hand cut replacement pieces. (it's bass wood and holly), had to muddle through glue that was incorrectly used and many broken pieces, including a leg. My family is very grateful that we found him to bring this beauty back to life!
Zachery Weir: Stuart and Erin at Tudor Woodworks has been absolutely a wonderful experience! I had them refinish a table and desk that has been in my family for over 100 years and I couldn’t be happier with the work! Thank you for helping preserve my family heirlooms!
Craig Arnold: Excellent craftsmanship.Stuart knows the techniques of repair and restoration appropriate for the furniture brought in for repair.Simply the best in the Midwest!
Hattie Cunningham: Hands down this is the best furniture repair and furniture restoration shop in the Kansas City area. Their customer service is very friendly and responsive. They will treat your furniture as if it was their own and ensure your pieces look good for generations to come. Work is done correctly, on time and reasonably priced.
Pablo Aguirre: The quality of repair that he has done for us is amazing. He has repaired many pieces for me and we have never been so happy with results.
Sam Davis: I have seen the quality work of Stuart Brown at Tudor Woodworks for years. He has a strong commitment to doing a job right and delivering the highest quality work possible. He uses techniques and processes that would have been used at the time the furniture was created to maintain the value of antique pieces. I recommend him without reservation.
Jeannine Criss: Stuart Brown saved the day for us when we undertook the refinishing of our English pub table. We had never experienced the development of fisheye in our previous undertakings, and we could not get it out of our table top. Stuart responded quickly to our SOS and restored the table to a glossy, smooth beauty with no fisheye. I would take any antique or prized piece of furniture to him w/o hesitation and know it was in experienced expert hands. Jeannine Criss
Dane Brumagin: Top quality and craftsmanship!
Ulli Leifheit: If there's anyone in KC I would trust with the furniture I've inherited and treasure so dearly, it would be Stuart. From consultation to the finished product - nothing short of a satisfying experience!
Gary Wesche: Very knowledgeable. Excellent craftsmanship. Have used tutor woodwork's many times and have been very impressed with the workmanship and would recommend them highly
Erin Nelson: Fantastic work! I took a piece to another restorer in town, who damaged it. I took the damaged piece to Stuart and he not only repaired the damage, but he restored it to its former glory.
Kevin Fullerton: Stuart Brown created a beautiful conference table for our graphic design studio. It's the first thing people see when they walk in -- and it's the first thing they comment on. It makes a strong first impression. We are so happy with the table, we are now ordering custom shelves. And then another table. As designers ourselves, we are very picky about the quality of the work we purchase. It's nice to work with a craftsman who exceeds our expectations.I highly recommend Stuart and the staff at Tudor Woodworks for their creativity, craftsmanship, attention to detail and service.

Forte Design & Upholstery: what do users think?
Karen Pollier: This was a very satisfying experience. Our sofa is beautiful. Expertly upholstered and an overall exceptional result. Would definitely use Forte again and reccomend them highly!
Nathan Banks: Forte went above and beyond when it came to re-upholstering our sofa. They came highly recommended and I was blown away by their attention to detail and working with me to get every detail just right. They were great at communicating and made sure I was 100% satisfied. These guys will take special care of your upholstery needs and I’ll be recommending them to everyone from now on.
Pat Cox: The sre very professional, and polite. And they gave me a date for my job to be finished and they were right on time. Exactly place to do business with.
Cynthia Weaver: The professionals at Forte breathed new life into a chair that has been in my family for over 100 years. Everyone who has seen it has been amazed at the transformation. Not only did they fit the new cushions to my exact specifications, but they matched the fabric on all sides flawlessly. The chair came back clean (unlike when they got it) with a pad protecting both the new seat cushion and underlying support. I could not be happier. I will be recommending Forte to family & friends and now feel confident in having other items restored by them as well! Thank you, Jimmy's Grandma
robin Fischer: I am so glad I chose Forte! The owner took his time showing me all sorts of different vinyls for a corner booth that’s been in my family since the 50’s. Honestly I worried that it was beyond repair. I almost cried when they brought it in...it is absolute perfection! Soooo worth the wait! Do Not trust your project with anyone but Forte❤️
Joseph Phares: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueMy sofa cushions were badly stained by my cats. Forte design guys helped me find the perfect fabric that would resist stains. I picked the new cushions today, the quality of work was outstanding, I would recommend them highly.
Jeff Nunn: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueForte reupholstered our leather sectional and did a phenomenal job! Highly recommended! They got it done quickly too at a very reasonable price.
Emily Skitek: Forte gave my old shabby sofa a new life. The sofa was structurally solid, but its slip cover was damaged beyond repair. Forte helped me pick out the perfect fabric, upholstered the sofa, and delivered exactly the look I asked for. Everyone I dealt with was professional, friendly, and honest. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and recommend them to friends. Thanks, Forte!
Jane Burbank: Needed to reupholster an armless chair and ottoman for our bedroom - after reading the reviews decided to schedule an appointment. These guys are great - once fabric was selected (with their help), they place you on their production schedule. We were so appreciative that they could select delivery date so accurately once they picked up our furniture. We're extremely pleased with the final results - workmanship is spot on - couldn't be happier and would give then more than 5 stars if I could!!
Jen Eggink: They did a fantastic job!! They are very responsive and their quality of work is top notch!!! So beautiful!!!
Tracy Robinson: Really nice guys! They did great work repairing our couch. Price very reasonable.
Mark Robinson: Great work and got here on time. I highly recommend.
Brooke Bowen: Excellent work! I have a very unique sofa that my parent's dog destroyed-- they finished up the reupholstery quickly and the fact that they pick up and drop off was so convenient. Great guys and easy to work with! Thank you! We are so pleased! Couch looks brand new :)
Jay P: Very professional an awesome work
Two Become One: Chris did an amazing job on a chair my Mom passed on to me. It looked so great! I'm still loving it and would highly recommend him!
Rick Harper: The guys at Forte were great to work with. My wife and I had a couch and a love seat that were falling apart. We were on a budget, but wanted them to look and feel great. Chris and James met with us researched some options and got back to us with several ideas and price points. We were able to choose what fit us best and still get the look that we wanted. They came and picked the furniture up and brought it back and put it in place better than they were brand new. Our experience was great and we would definitely use them again.9/30/14 Update: So we had a slight problem with one of the couches, the fabric was not holding up well at the point where the back cushions attached. I talked with Chris and James, they said "no problem we will take care of it". Then we left on vacation. By the time we came back the couch was fixed and everything was perfect. You don't get much better service than that! Thanks Forte.
Aimee Jones: Forte is AWESOME! They completely built my headboard from scratch, without a flaw. This team is reliable and has a quick overturn. Would highly recommend! Will use them again! Thanks

Ramos Upholstery LLC: what do users think?
Heather Wimmer: They recovered some very nice quality dining chairs and a bench for me and made them look brand new again. Then they charged me less than the estimate because it used less material than they originally thought it would take. Way to exceed expectations! You guys are amazing! Thank you so much.
Rita Martin: Excellent work recovering a sofa. They put in all new foam and it looks so good. Everyone comments how great it looks AND how comfortable it is. Big thanks to Ramos Upholstery!
Robert Pedroza: Highly recommend. High quality work done quickly and affordably. This week i had them repair/refurbish a vintage style office chair of mine that had broke. Took it in Sunday and it was done and ready to pick-up by Tuesday. Workmanship is flawless. And reasonable price.
francisco ramirez: I took some restaurant booths over, Paid them halve of the money and they did the so fast. I was without booths for 8 hours only . Instead of waiting days. They did an awesome and profesional job. Thanks to the Ramos upholstery team for caring about the time that i needed them. You guys rock.
Kimberly McClain: Extremely nice owners, talented staff and all around great business!
Helen Beteet: Friendly!
Daniel Burns: Very impressed with these guys. First time doing business with them. I had 200+ barstools reupholstered and repaired. The communication was great and quality of work was outstanding. Hope we can do more business in the future.
Marv W: Looks. Closed
J Smootheee: Re upholstered some seats off my tritoon/boat, everyone else in the kc greater area was booked out until October/November, RAMOS did it in two weeks, and they look great!
lauren bonham: I showed up for my appointment with them 10 minutes early. Not a single person was in the whole building. I yelled 'hello' in case someone was downstairs, no response. I waited for over 15 minutes past my appointment time. I never saw anyone. I called the phone number listed in the email confirming my appointment, no one answered. Terrible customer service.
Donyel Evans: Very good job
xZOIEM6x .x: Did excellent repair work on my couch. Thank You.
Natosha Halling: My family has had several antique family pieces reupholstered by Ramos. They turned out beautifully!! We found the prices reasonable for the incredible craftsmanship. Friendly service as well. Highly recommend!
Steve Young: Great work, but a bit costly.
Z C: Very professional and easy to communicate with. my antique dining chairs had to be repaired before being reupholstered .What an amazing job! Not only are they gorgeousThey are cushioned and VERY comfortable.I notice and appreciate details, and amAmazed by the matching design work which gives me much pleasure just looking at my chairs. Thank you Ramos upholstery ! !
Delfenia Hamilton: Great customer service 👍
Juan A.: This is skilled trade work like any other and you’re going to pay highly for it, but if your piece is an antique or too costly to replace like this ancient forklift seat ($1200 for a new one), you’ll be glad you used these guys. They got this done faster than I could go back to pick it up. Just email them your project and they’ll give you a quote pretty quickly. Face it-you’re never going to refurbish your grandma’s old chair. Just pay these guys the money and be done with it. Their location is worth driving to from anywhere in the metro and I’m pleased to see that this little stretch of KCK is looking really clean cut these days. I noticed that they have some vehicles in the back, so if you’d like to save yourself some backache, looks to me like they could just pick it up for you. I’ll definitely go back for the next project.
Michele Stewart: Had recliner reupholstered. Received reasonable estimate for requested work. Could not be more pleased with the quality workmanship.
Esmeralda N Zena: Rude douche bags
Two Men: Poorest customer service experience. Does not return calls or emails. Scheduled a service twice and failed to show up or call both times. Never apologized or followed up. Horrible disservice to a customer that contacted them because of their reputation.
Joe Banks: Wonderful work!

GKH Furniture Repair And Restoration: what do users think?
Kelli Reidy: Very happy with how my table and chairs turned out! They’re so easy to work with and I will definitely recommend them to others. I had painted a beautiful oak table white and the chairs black and they stripped and stained it so it all looks brand new.
Mel Lan: Wow. Mr. Hadnot did an outstanding job restoring my Great Grandparents' 100-year-old bedroom suite. I wasn't even sure if it was fixable - or worth it, but I was so amazed with the results I could not be happier I made the decision to get them restored. Mr. Hadnot is definitely an artist and cares about the quality of work he produces, so be sure to budget the time he'll need for your projects.
Nancy Ballenger: GKH refinished and repaired a family heirloom oak dining table to its original beauty. The 110 year old table has a lot of sentimental value and Greg restored the piece to look like a new piece of furniture. We could have purchased a new Stickley table but investing in restoration turned out perfect.
Nanci Hirschorn: Took my antique refectory table to Greg to refinish! Thrilled with the excellent results! Will use again. Highly recommend.
Pat S: We had a hutch refinished by Greg and his son Damien. They were prompt getting back to me before and after the job. They communicated with me throughout the entire process. The job that they did was exactly what we wanted and I would recommend Greg, Damien and GKH services for any one of your furniture refinishing needs.
Becky Eichacker: We are extremely pleased with the excellent craftsmanship and skill of Greg’s work. He refinished my parents’ maple dresser from 1959 that I inherited after they passed away. Our movers had wrapped it in cellophane when we moved to Overland Park last fall which damaged the finish very badly. I will definitely be using GHK Furniture Repair and Restoration for my future furniture refinishing needs. I felt the charge was quite reasonable for his quality work plus he and his son carried it up and down our staircase when they picked up and delivered the piece.
Alex Tripp: GKH did an amazing job restoring our two dressers. They were easy to work with and completed the project as promised. My wife and I are very happy with the results!
Dylan Gill: Refinished a pool table. Excellent work and easy to communicate with. Specifically talked me through the complexities of refinishing an oak veneered surface and couldn’t be happier with results. Highly recommend.
Julia: I have a large antique mirror with a very delicate 6" wide gold-leafed filigree frame made of wood and carved plaster paste that got broken in a move. I knew that repairing it properly would require not only lots of time, but also lots of skill and patience.First off let me say that I was surprised Greg would even take the project on! Esp since I told him that I was kind of nervous to have it repaired because I didn't want it to turn out looking like a shiny new mass-produced mirror frame, without the unique character from the patina that years of dust and environmental exposure had caused. But I liked Greg, and he was very complimentary of the mirror, and seemed to understand what I wanted, so I decided to leave it as his shop.He let me know up front that the work would take awhile, like months. But since he'd let me know that in the beginning, I didn't get impatient :-)In the end, it was well worth the wait! When I picked it up, I couldn't even tell it had been broken, and the repair matched exactly with the rest of the frame. It still looks exactly like the antique mirror I remember from my grandmother's bedroom when I was a kid! And not only is the broken part repaired and beautifully restored, they also somehow imperceptibly strengthened the rest of frame so it's not nearly as fragile as it was.Thank you Greg, and the guys in your shop, for such a fabulous job! I highly recommend GKH Furniture Repair!
Vickie Loosbrock: Greg was amazing! He listened to everything I asked for and then delivered. My sofa and loveseat came back as if they were brand new. He made them exactly like they were when I bought them, only with prettier fabric. Bonus!! He even touched up all of the wood trim.
Linda Gray: Greg restored my Mother's antique cedar chest and my end table. He did a beautiful job. Took away scratches and replaced the veneer on the chest. I am very pleased. Beautiful walnut color on both.
Bertha Taylor: GKH restored an antique dresser from the late 1800's. The drawers were coming apart and the finish was in rough shape. The finished project is beautiful. I am extremely pleased with the job GKH did.
Brent Kirkpatrick: Greg saw the potential in our table top that we weren't certain was salvageable. He listened to our wishes to see wood grain and worked with me on the stain color. The end result is more beautiful than the original finish! We couldn't be happier with the results. Greg and his team are experts at their craft and really nice people too. They were able to get the work done within the estimated timeline. The price was certainly fair for all of the materials and labor they put into it. (Photo Notes: The first photo shows the gummy paint prior to his work.)
Linda Fleer: EXCELLENT WORK!! I have fallen back in love with my dining room table and chairs. Gregg refinished the table and recreated an entire new arm for the armchair. I thought the other arm would have to be removed but Gregg carved a new arm for the one that was missing. It is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely go back to Gregg. If you are looking to work with a professional in very sense of the word, you must go to GKH Furniture Repair and Restoration. I might beat you there though because I have two more pieces of furniture that require his expertise.
Jerry Tubbs: Absolute masterful work. Extremely pleased with the job.
Mathew Martin: Greg at GKH Furniture Repair is the best at what he does! Check out this awesome work he did to restore an antique chest from my family 🙂Edit to 3 stars on 9/22. I gave Greg a very challenging project and he seemed to spend a really long time looking for the parts needed to restore my antique chest back to its original state. He was doing a great job fitting it in as needed and researching the parts, but he was constantly informing me of his supply chain issues with laquer and staffing issues. After 2 years of letting the project sit at his shop, I rushed him to finish to job. I'm happy that I have the chest back and it is definitely in a MUCH better condition than it was originally. It's still missing a lot of its necessary parts and I'm probably going to need to have it sanded back down in certain areas and repainted. For the money I spent, it was worth the effort the Greg put into it. If you're looking for a job you should probably give him a call because he seems to need some help right now.
Jessica Ford: Greg did a wonderful job on my marble dining table. Movers broke a chunk of a corner out, and he was able to fill it and match the marbled pattern and color. Finished it and returned it fairly fast too.
Emily Mendoza: I had an excellent experience working with Greg. He gave me a fair and accurate estimate of both the total cost and the timeliness for my dresser to be completed. I'm very satisfied with the final outcome - this dresser has been in my family for three generations and it will be in good shape to keep passing down!
Sara Ebberts: GKH Furniture Repair is amazing! I asked Greg to repair an old 'smoking box' end table that was made by my husband's grandfather. My daughter broke it when she was jumping on the furniture years ago and he could not bear to throw it away. So, It had been in our basement for years. I asked Greg to repair it for my husband's birthday gift this year, stating that I wanted it to look as close to original as possible. He nailed it! Best birthday present ever!!
MK Brandhof: I highly recommend GKH Furniture Repair and Restoration. Greg communicated effectively on pickup, refinishing and delivery of a desk, table and a family heirloom sewing machine for me. His skills are obviously impeccable, and I have no doubt you will be satisfied beyond measure with his skills. He is also such a pleasure to visit with.
Caroline Brost: We found GKH Furniture Repair shortly after moving to the KC area because one of our dining room chairs was broken in the moving van. Gregg and his staff had it fixed in just a few weeks with a new leg that matches so perfectly, you cannot tell which chair was ever broken. Today I just picked up my grandmother's 1935 sewing machine cabinet, which they completely refinished. It looks beautiful, and I know my Memere is smiling somewhere. If you have special furniture that needs some expert TLC, this is the place to get it.

Kimball Smith: We had a wonderful experience with Victor, and we cannot recommend him more highly! He upholstered six dining chairs for us, and he did an excellent job even faster than he said he would. He picked them up at our house and delivered them less than a week later, and they were perfect. The cushioning was restored and the stitching was beautiful. He's a busy man, so we had to schedule our appointment a month ahead of time, but such excellent quality is worth waiting for. When our appointment came, he was prompt and very responsive. I think you can't go wrong with Victor. He's a very skilled craftsman and a very nice man.
Brandon Green: Fast service, very friendly, very helpfull.
