Matthew Tali: AKKA has been great for our son! He’s 3+ years in and still engaged and enjoying it. My appreciation for AKKA has grown even more so especially through the pandemic, and how my son was still able and to learn, practice and train remotely.
Kelli Chappelow: My self confidence and self-esteem have ground tremendously while being in the program, as well as my learning of the arts and learning of myself.

The best part about choosing Akka, is its instructors Mr. Burt, and Mr. Harris, alongside the other three (funny) instructors. They are always fun and loving alongside being straightforward when it's needed. We have become so accustomed to seeing all the kind people there, it feels like home away from home. And at times my husband and I will catch ourselves saying the Akka motto in our sentences, as It's become a part of us.And this is the good seed, the good word that they plant every day to all of us, setting there."To be our best and do our best with enthusiasm!"If you're looking for a boost of structure and smiles for your kiddos? Then come try it out!!!Hope to see you there!#Family vibe at the Dojo!

Oddessy Martial Arts Supply: what do users think?
Bobby Jones: They always have what I need for security. Its sad that they are going out of business.
Roy Webb: Large selection and really the only place like it in KC area. Keep it up guys.
Catherine Williamson: The owner was friendly and very helpful.
Paul Price: Great place good customer service I bought a taser it works really great
Paul Morton: Love this place!!!
Medusa: Neat store but nothing beats the good convo you get from the owner.
Allen Brooks: Affordable prices! Great inventory! Friendly staff!
Trowa: Really cool merch and friendly staff
Elizabeth Lacey (Liz): Worst experience as a customer ever. Rudest staff, they lie about their product and talk it up, and convince you to spend $300 on a switchblade. Then when it's in your pocket LITERALLY a week later the spring breaks, so you bring the knife back WITH YOUR RECEIPT. Before you can even finish your sentence about what happened they finish it for you telling you it happens all the time, and (quality wise) basically that they're bought off of wish.com! THERE IS NO REFUNDS OR WARRANTIES. THEY GOT EXTREMELY RUDE WITH ME BECAUSE I WAS UPSET. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE. THEY ARE RIPPING ALL OF US OFF!!
L H: Owner wouldn’t stop talking at about her cell phone and how she didn’t know how to use it? We came to look at knives and talk to each other - not be monopolized because you’re bored.
Lauren Sartain: Owner Has a bad attitude and treats his customers poorly. Suggest taking your business else where. His prices are also way high for the knock offs he sales in there. Then his actual quality products are way overpriced as well.
Scott Kuchenbecker: Forced to wear a muzzle to shop here. Grow up already.
Nikki Heffner: Fantastic! Great service and very helpful.
Steven James: Odd couple, not very kind at all.
angelica vigliaturo: Got the protection I was looking for me and my daughter are safer
Renee Williams: It has what you need to protect yourself the owners are awesome
Paul Kirkendall: I don't have a rating for this place cuz I don't go there that often it's not one of my stores that's in my location where I live so I have no rating
Nicholas Miller: This place always has been and still is and kick butt place. For those who are looking for things to self defense this is your place
Kenneth Figgins: Martial arts supplies and self defense items with a friendly staff that is very helpful.
Billy Smile: It's about what you would expect. A bunch of overweight guys with mullets wearing Rush T-shirts that want to buy swords..... It's really pretty awesome.
Mike Ohlson: Service was great very informative

Budo Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo: what do users think?
Elijah: i would like to train at your dojo, im a 2nd black belt in Taekwondo and would like to learn Ninjutsu to enhance my combat skills
Alicia Gragg: I walked in with zero knowledge of Martial Arts and have never had a better experience anywhere else in the U.S training and learning with Sensei and the other students. I learned so much about Martial Arts during my time at the dojo and about life as well; Sensei is someone I will treasure for the rest of my life for how she pushed me, supported me, and challenged me. If you have the chance to drop in for a trial class, DO IT. It is so worth your time and such an invaluable experience! 🙏🏼
E.Dragoon: Positive:QualityThe quality of training here got me through the marine corps beating combat instructors in sparring matches easily. And the quality of the people - couldn't ask for anyone better.
Matthew Waller: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI was involved in various martial arts when I was younger and took some time off. Ninjitsu is by far the best, most practical art I have been in. Sinsei Jacobson is an amazing teacher. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and patient with her students and I am proud to be one. I highly recommend the Budo Ryu Ninjitsu Dojo!
Apex Ninja: Budo Ryu Kai Ninjutsu is the real deal!!! I continue to have a great experience with this organization.Sensei is greatly dedicated to the art of Ninjutsu and to her student's.Excellent Ninjutsu dojo and excellent online Ninjutsu university!!! It is a great honor to be part of this organization!!!!!! REAL NINJA!!! TEAM NINJA!!!BUDO RYU KAI NINJUTSU 4 LIFE!!!
Julian Balvin: Love It!!! Couldn't have picked a Better Master to Learn From 😃😆😆
Tom Jenkins: One of the most Honest and caring individuals I've ever met. If you have ANY questions about traditional ninjutsu training. This is the place to contact!
Rickie Cowens: Look guys, if you are looking to learn from an instructor who knows her stuff this is for you. You not only learn sound self defense, you learn outdoor survival, archery, tracking, firearms, etc. All the things to make you feel at ease with your families safety. Thus is top knotch instruction from one of the firmest, but sweetest people you will ever meat!
Burned Wonderer: The Soke truly cares and treats her students as family. But she is also stern and an amazing trainer. I enjoy every bit of my experience.
Kip Bettis: This is legit training. I've done Shotokan karate and tried out the Bujinkan but I wasn't happy with their training; it just didn't feel right for me. I wanted a place that trained hard in a realistic manner to prepare me for todays world and I found it through the Budo Ryu. The teachers are awesome and completely respectable to my beliefs and I really dig the family atmosphere.
Dane Wysong: It's not like what you would assume. I went in with a friend half-thinking that it wasn't much more than people playing with foam swords and pretending to be ninjas. But the training here is real. All the ninja stuff is just powdered on top of a foundation of training along the lines of something you would see at an MMA gym. It's hardcore. I love it.
Carrie Potter: The most Hardcore martial art training ive ever done. Anshu and renshi are both the best at what they do! Mad respect!

Randy Thompson: Mr Palmer is the best instructor. All staff top notch. Our son loves learning TaeKwonDo there.
Charity Woods: This place has been a godsend for us. My son has been going for 6 months now and I have seen such a wonderful change in him. Not only is he respectful but also into staying fit and healthy. Mr Palmer makes every class fun with his demonstrations of power and flexibility that excites all who visit. I even thoroughly enjoy watching the class. The staff are always polite and helpful and work around as many issues as possible. They remember everyones name and make you feel like you are the only student. Amazing all around!! So thankful for this dojo.
Erick Lopez: Great place to lear self defense ♥️
Davis Peterson: Positive:Professionalism
Caitlin Connors: Love the instructor Mr. Palmer. He's great with the kids, very motivating, tons of positive reinforcement and also stern when discipline is needed.
J McG: My daughter has been here almost three years and she loves every class. They give kids the opportunity to push themselves and move up when they’re ready. My family ran a dojo the whole time I was growing up, and I am happy that my daughter gets to experience being a part of this in such a great environment. Thanks to Mr. Palmer, Miss Deardorf, and the rest of the team.

Aikijuku Dojo: what do users think?
전정국: Been going to the kenjutsu classes here for a little while now and I love the class, people, and environment. Very good!
Sean Oconnor: Sensei has a great wealth of knowledge and experience in aikido. Besides being a wonderful teacher. He's great with adult classes and kids classes.
Ruth Greene: I'd rather learn Tai chi
David T: Great people, great instruction!
Sean Chartier: Incredible (Aikido) Dojo and even better instruction. Nice big floor, really friendly instructor and students. Great place to learn and grow !
Jason Schulz: What an amazing experience for me. From the first time I stepped into the dojo I felt welcomed and part of something bigger than me. It has done several things for me. One it’s a great escape of the daily grind which we call life. I get to come and relax and my mind is clear and ready for learning. And secondly it’s a great art of both self defense and harmonizing with others you encounter. I would highly recommend this dojo to anyone.
Thomas Carroll: Aikijuku Dojo is a great place to learn Authentic Japanese Martial Arts. Be part of a community that has compassion, harmony, and love. A place to make friends and learn a knowledge that will change the way you love your life. If you want to feel complete about life, don't hesitate and come to Aikikuku Dojo and sign up.
Origamiclub sre: it is an amazing place. you should come to the Dojo
Miriam Rittmaster: This is the best thing that has ever happened to my child. Within three months he went from having significant issues at home and at school, to being a cooperative, happy child with the self-discipline to make good choices. He has also developed an entire group of like-minded friends. His teachers were shocked at the transformation. I *highly* recommend this dojo to adults needing to find their "center", and to kids who are casting about for an identity, self-esteem, and a sense of control in their lives.

Rebecca BRANDON: So very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable staff. Had everything we needed to get.

Kenukan Academy 拳友館: what do users think?
nahum nathaniel: All i can tell you is it’s worth it. i been training for almost two years and don’t regret a second of it. Kenukan academy is no Mc Dojo so if you wanna learn martial arts learn from great sensei’s and great student try Kenukan it will improve health and quality of life if your consistent.
Norman Simon: A great place to develop Discipline. Very professionals and experience. 100% recommended
Alex Muensch: My wife and I have been going to Kenukan for almost a year and love it! Sensei Boggs is very knowledgeable and effective at teaching a range of martial arts skills, from traditional to modern combat sports and self-defense. He, along with all of the other students, create a very welcoming atmosphere that makes us eager to come back each week to learn more.
Elizabeth Conaway: Joining this dojo has been an opportunity to learn new skills and get great exercise at the same!
Alex Lambrecht: I joined the Kenukan family 25+ years ago then ended up moving out of state. I was excited to resume my training after I moved back to KC and signed my son up as well.Sensei Travis is able to share his impressive martial arts knowledge and skills by providing detailed instruction that improves your proficiency in your selected discipline whether it be grappling/striking/self-defense or all of the above. The training at Kenukan is top notch and I always look forward to attending class!Whether your goal is to learn to defend yourself or become a better martial artist, Kenukan can help you get there if you are willing to put in the work.
Michelle Bersbach: Travis is awesome! Get yourself enrolled👏🏼
Paige N: Our niece loves it!
kevin stueve: I was looking for a place to resume judo journey after a 35 year hiatus. I stumbled upon the ads for Kenukan Academy. I took the introductory lesson and I've been there ever since, going on 3 years now. It is challenging to learn judo/jujitsu, kickbox/karate, and self defense. Sensei Travis is by far the best instructor I have ever been around. He can break complex moves down and make them seem simple. This is not a "black belt factory", but the knowledge and skill and experience I have gained in 3 years is beyond compare.
trancito astumedo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Kevin: I have been part of the Kenukan family for 25+ years. Thank goodness I walked into this dojo after moving to the area. I had trained at a few other places before joining Kenukan. However, this school is on a whole ‘nother level. Kenukan is the real deal. The world class training here is very well rounded, yet students are welcome to focus on their favorite disciplines too, whether Karate, Kickboxing, Ju-Jutsu, Self Defense, etc. I can’t say enough good things about Kenukan. If you are looking for the best of the best in martial arts schools, look no further.
Steven Eichinger: I’ve been a student at Kenukan academy for many years. It’s a second home for me and my family, especially my special needs daughter. I’ve looked at other schools and theirs no place I’d rather be. The training is of the highest quality, where rank is earned not given.
DB: I've been a student at Kenukan for a number of years and I love coming here. Sensei Travis Boggs is a ridiculously skilled martial artist while also being a great teacher. The variety of techniques (with overarchingbroad categories of striking, grappling, and self-defense) results in a practical and well-rounded curriculum.Everyone is respectful and the other students are helpful, friendly, and work well with people of all skill levels. The fact that it takes dedicationand effort to get promoted is a good thing and stands in contrast to some McDojo schools that pump out black belts like they're going out of style.I would recommend anyone who is interested in martial arts or self-defense or even in getting better shape to come out and give it a try.
Heather: We love this place! It's much more than a Dojo, it's a second family. I know that not only is my son getting the best martial arts training around but that both Bob and Travis care about him on a personal level. They simply love what they do. He's made great friends and unexpectedly, so have I. I was first referred to Kenukan by a friend who had two brothers go through the program years ago. I loved knowing someone who knew these instructors on a personal level. We had tried martial arts at other places and to be honest it all came down to what color belt you had and how fast you got it. That's not what Kenukan is about. You won't hemorrhage money on belts. You will learn skills and when you've accomplished the right skills you will move up, whether you are a child or an adult. It's the same for both. I would refer anyone of my friends to Kenukan
Caitlin Tyler: I have been a student at Kenukan for about 4 years. Sensei Travis Boggs is an exceptional martial artist and teacher whose passion and enthusiasm is contagious! Kenukan Ryu integrates techniques from many styles of martial arts resulting in a well-rounded curriculum with an underlying theme of practicality and self-defense. The mental and physical benefits you will develop are priceless. If you want to learn REAL fighting skills and know you've EARNED your rank, this is the place to be!
Mike Guertin: I have studied under many known, top instructors since 1989 and I can tell you that Travis Boggs is the best I've ever studied under. His attention to detail, patience and teaching style is second to none. I have also enrolled my grandson because Travis is awesome with kids and they love him.
Tim Hunter: Resume speaks for itself. Want you or your kid to have a black belt in a year? Go to a strip mall gym. Want to learn from the best and earn your skills? Come here.
Carolyn Goodrick: I have been a student for 20 years. Kenukan is a place for serious martial artists as well as those looking to gain fundamental self defense skills. I have been so impressed by their depth of knowledge and skill that I look forward to learning from them for the rest of my life. My children attend as well and are growing in confidence and athleticism with each class. They enjoy the classes and can't wait to go back and learn more. I know we have a second family at Kenukan.
J. Mike Reed Jr.: My older son has been enrolled in Kenukan Academy of Self-Defense for more than 2 and a half years, my younger son will start there in October. Travis Boggs is a skilled instructor that seamlessly integrates striking and grappling in his system. Some students my be galled at the slow pace of rank advancement at Kenukan, but having previously studied in Jim Harrison's and Steve Mackey's Bushidokan system of Karate, I understood the values and rank structure that I was signing my kids up for at Kenukan.I strongly value the fact that rank there cannot be bought. It does not matter how much money has been spent, or how much time you have invested, only the skillset you have developed. If you have the skills you EARN the rank.I like that there are no kiddie black-belts here. Their youth program allows children the possibility to advance up to green belt. Bob Boggs, Travis' father and the founder of the dojo once explained that "Our black belts are meant to be expert-level fighters. I would never trust a 10 year old to teach a troop of marines hand-to-hand combat skills they need, so a 10-year-old should not be wearing a black belt."Ranking is slow for their adults, too... but because the rank is actually earned and hard-to-earn, there is real achievement and pride associated with it. And even Kenukan's lowest ranking students have developed more skill than what I've witnessed at some other training centers, so I am confident I have my kids enrolled in the right place. Character isn't built by doing the easy things."Anything can be made easily or bought cheaply, but that which must be earned dearly holds the greatest value."
Mike Hicks: This establishment loves to use teens as practice dummies. Teens are held back and not allowed to test even when they are ready. This was not only observed with my son but with other teens. My son had a few years experience in karate. We moved into the area and my son wanted to get back into martial arts. He wanted to learn something new and decided on Kenukan. We made it through the 12 month payment program and my son still was not allowed to test. The establishment states if the customer is not satisfied then they will refund the customer. But when we complained and requested a refund they refused.
Micah Greene: I've gone to this dojo off an on for over 15 years. I started in Junior High. After high school, I went to college, and moved to Seattle for a couple years. I come back to it whenever I'm in town. I've been to other martial arts schools in Kansas City, Seattle, and France, and none can compare to Kenukan. It is the real deal.
