Center for Developmentally Disabled: what do users think?
lindsy waddell: Great place to work for...
Samiah Jackson: It’s a nice place to relax and learn new things
Marteisha Whitley: Love my job, love helping other. Being here for 6years can’t wait for 20 years
Jenelle Brown: The proctor for my testing was extremely professional & accommodating I wished I'd of gotten his name for a shout out
Mary Norman: I love ❤️ CDD I have worked here for 4 yrs and have great co-workers and bosses and the best individuals. They love their employees and individuals and always have something special going on for us and treat us like family 👪 💕!!!!
Stacie: Very nice facility and program
Beingtested: Friendly staff, clean facility.
Harriet Rice: I have been an Employee here for 4+ years. This is one of the Largest in Kansas City and the Management Always have an Open Door Policy and Truly not only Care for the People they serve but, Always have honor their staff with bonuses and even a Hug if needed. I Truly Respect these Warrior's at CDD. MUCH LOVE YOU ALL !!!🌹
Jill S: We found this agency’s upper management to lack genuine concern and care for clients. While some “hands on” staff appeared to be well trained, many were not and management was reluctant to the point of taking no action to assist staff with additional training. It appeared to us management was more concerned with keeping staff happy and employed, rather than offend or require further training. Client need was certainly not a priority. We would not recommend this agency.
Bre Redmond: I loved working here! I really miss Brian and Tony!
Robyn Black Highfill: I work at Walmart, I didn't ask her name but I will be calling her supervisor tomorrow. She was very rude. The customers even stated after they overheard all. She talked on the phone whole time. She told whoever it was tge worst Walmart she had ever been to and, told them she was never coming back in the damn place. She had one of the residents with her. I would be concerned if that resident was a relation of mine.
Walt Shannon: Because they help people with development disability. They help them so they can have a chance to be able to live own there own but with other people. I have a chance to make choices.
michelle cox: I actually had an interview with this company and got offered a job it's a wonderful place and they do wonderful things
Mary Ellis: It is an agency that is there to help the community. However, in my opinion some in Frontline need classes in customer service.
Cathye. Johnson: Went for a job interview not hired.
love Teisha: Love my job
Lila Littleton: Great company to work for!
Danisha Johnson: Hopefully this will work for the scavenger hunt! Let's GO EASTSIDE HEARTBREAKERS!!!!! LET'S GO EASTSIDE HEARTBREAKERS!!!! my mom has been working there for a little over 6 months and she loves it. Great company and clients Yolanda Hoeschel!
terri schwierzke: Good company to work for. Love the staff and clients.
Nicole Hunter: So far so good
Shelby Bain: Say they don't descriminate but yet. They discriminate on age. I've worked for a year and this company comes in and says no your to young.

Center for Behavioral Medicine: what do users think?
misty pearon: The inpatient hospital part in the front was horrible and they meaning the staff of the hospital treated everyone like prrisoners and they didn't don't 7checks and I got attacked by another patient and they didn't care they just kept doing what they were doing and didnt carecthat that other c razy lady kitting me until i jumped up to knock her light out. Then they cared. This place was ice cold. It was as bad as being in the county lockup....i agree with someone elses comment about the staff being corrupt. This was all like that when i was there to.
Leslee Trotter: No response.
Deborah Simms: It takes 4 different people and 4 transfers before you get to who you need to talk to and everyone is so rude!
Jana Honeyball: I will just say corruption is in the staff, and an org or agencies vulgar attempt to display "power" and "control" for every single unfortunate being who placed me in the position with falsehoods, theft, and holding back my identity from the authorities, I dont waste my time or tears on those who have no heart, soul, or essence of the universal being. They stole about $300 in clothes phone and my personal belongings. Not that i couldnt replace it... Its just more damage to a mind that is protected in virtue.
j lee: Nice inpatient and outpatient faclity. Staff professional and nice treatment center

The Whole Person: what do users think?
Chi'Voo F12 HKMG4 MAC Tha Boi China Doll AS 187: It's a nice agency but they could pay you more money then only $9.75 an hour that's ridiculous from all the work that entails in the job that we do for a PCA working for elderly people in need of assistance is a need and a must but is ridiculous for such a low pay but if we was to get at the least $15.75 at the least to $17.00 no less than that point blank. That would be better for people to get the care that they need and want would make it much better for the elderly to get the good consistent care they need and want
Duyahn Walker: For about a year or so I’ve been having trouble with this place. I really thought that The whole person would be a wonderful experience and I could get help where necessary. Unfortunately this has not been the case. What I’m basically saying is this. If you really want to find an agency that will help you, the whole person is not the place to get it. Go somewhere else.
Pamela Francis: The Whole PersonPamela FrancisPosting publiclyLearn more about writing reviews on Google
James: They are stealing money from their clients, I worked 48 hours and got a check for $16.00. They are crooks and we are turning them into medcaid for fraud!!
Jacquelyn Gibbs: I thought things were going great until I received a call from my insurance saying they wouldn't cover services post surgery. But TWP didn't look into that, they wasted 3 months of my time getting set up with them, approving my application when they shouldn't have. Not to mention Tyrese didn't pick up my paperwork for a month which set things back further, he admitted that he forgot about me. After 4 visits I'm now suddenly left without home help and must continue crawl on the floor. I feel deceived. They wasted precious time I should have been looking for a provider who would take my insurance.
Abby Amana: I am the PCA for a disabled adult who currently goes through another company. They were going to switch to this company to give me better pay as a favor to me, and allow me to actually get health insurance that works outside of Wichita KS. Before we even did on boarding paperwork, things did not seem right at all. According to state law in Kansas(KSA 22-4701 through 4711), it is illegal to charge a possible employee or independent contractor to run a background check on them before or after hiring. To do so is a class A misdemeanor(the level under the lowest level felony). They require an ~$22 money order to run the legally mandatory background check before they will hire someone. This business hires illegally. Lord knows what else they do illegally.
Kamysha Kates-White: I have left several messages in regard to my brother receiving home care and no one has returned my call. I literally have been calling for three months with no return call. My brothers case manager has also left several messages and no return call, starting to wonder if they’re still open. Hopefully the state of Missouri can look into this and offer something different if it is no longer an option to work with this organization.
Connie Stutts: I will write a complete review once the issues I'm having are resolved....But I will say for now... BEWARE!!!Listen to the many other bad reviews already posted!!! Find another company!!
Linda Drozd: Terrible experience with these people. They have money to spend on TV ads..but can't hire enough aides or office people that have a clue what's going on...grrr
Devious Uno: Very disrespectful. Iam trying to recover from covid pneumonia was hospitalized for 2 months. Was approved threw the state. Almost lost my life. To have them call and say they run things the state has nothing to do with it. When they're a state approved in home care facility. That they do it their own way and I have to wait another week or so until Tyrese calls I just have to wait for help. Also per representative of the state who makes approvals. I have to wait for their supervisor Tyrese to see me and make a determination. When I can't get around. I can't do simple things I was able to do. The lady that called me, was inconsiderate, rude, disrespectful, and thoroughly confused herself not having the info that the state sent to her as well as other things. Very disorganized and don't care about you as a person as I tried to ask question, yet couldn't get a word in edgewise. STAY CLEAR OF THEM. They may have been good in the past. Not anymore. They need audited and be removed from the list of providers for the state. The state should have more and better oversight. Remove them plz.
J K: Never return calls, need more staff, lie about calling you back.
Janet Harris: Family caring for family without the worries.
Serious Baylis: 😳😳😳
Tori Seals: This establishment is EXTREMELY unprofessional. Mr. Bibbs stated that he would complete work on my grandmothers house; as well as, McKenna (social worker). We called and emailed them both several times pertaining to when they will begin working & no one returned our calls. A month later we still hadn’t heard anything from them. We called again for McKenna to say, “we decided against doing this.” No one reached out to us, nor felt an OUNCE of regard for us or our loved one. Please, find another organization to assist with your loved one, they will not care.
Mistralok: Incredibly helpful for those with disabilities.
Clark Johnson: Clean building, friendly helpful people
Dale Reed: Greatly help when needed
Robin Taylor: It supplies me with my income. The staff are down to earth people, and create a pleasant work place.
Kortni Novich: I would not recommend this place. Really is sad how they advertise on tv to help people with disabilities and they never return phone calls. I have called several times over the last week about my sister in-law that suffers from cerebral palsy and trying to find out some information and they never called me back just kept sending me to voicemail. Someone else from the family tried to call them also for her and they never returned that call either.
Lovemybabies “Woman with dreams!” Nalls84: I'm curious if the company hires felons or not?
Kyrie A: If I could give no stars I would The Kansas City Kansas office and Mr.leon are crooks pay attention to your check subs people, the hrs I work and input into the system are not the hrs that are reported on my checks as well as to the irs I was claiming 3 on my w4 for state and federal there, was no money taken out for federal at all and only 29.00 dollars taken out for state it’s not adding up and corporate has been contacted this place is ripping off people who are working with the disabled I would highly suggest another company for your loved ones

Lilac Center - North Kansas City: what do users think?
Chris Stout: Watch out for this place when it comes to billing!! Random bill shows up year+ after services rendered.. as someone with 3 insurances I have never gotten a bill from them until long after services. They don’t respond to communication about billing either.
Melanie King: Worst mistake I ever made. So much so that I cannot even put it into words properly. In the middle of IOP there was a huge switch up. Changing of counselors/instructors. Mixed information/instructions on who to contact. This caused a great deal of problems. Accusations of harassment. My counselor not being trained enough that they quit as soon as they started. So there was no consistent counseling. Now to the biggest problems. I DO NOT drive far distances or on the highway. I was told my skills class would be in mission. Starting at 6 pm. I told them I would attempt it and see how it goes. Getting done work on time and driving out to mission from nkc during rush hr did not go well. Kept having panic attacks and by the time I would come down it was time to drive home. More accusations instead listening to me. Spoke to two counselors since and both said that it was wrong for them to try and force me to drive out there. Puts my life and others at risk. Another, the billing. I received my first bill on March 24th. Made a payment. The next week made a payment. On the third week I was given a piece of paper, that wasn’t even cut even, letting me know that due to my balance I could no longer attend until it was payment or arrangements were made. Not even 30 days due. They also gave that to me on a weds evening. Oh, and after class. Get that money!! Trying to get in touch with anyone is impossible to discuss anything with. Lastly, watch what you sign when you get discharged. For some reason I was listed for drug and alcohol abuse, which I was there for other abuses. Whelp, now all of a sudden I am untrustworthy!! Been on the same meds for years. Now I am treated like an addict. Thanks for all of the great help and guidance! You really did a bang up job. You best believe I filed a complaint with my insurance company and have been working on how to file with the state.
Shannon McDonald: Lilac N KC has been a true blessing to my daughter, myself, and my family as a whole. We have learned so much in our time with them and continue to do so. On top of the great group therapy sessions, we have also found a wonderful therapist for my teenage daughter. It took a long while to find someone that she trusted and connected with and she has 100% found that here at Lilac. My only regret is I wish we had found the center/home sooner. In my daughters words, "I would recommend Lilac 10 out of 10 times!"
Angela McElfish: Very unprofessional made appointment, did all the work and on day of appointment they failed us no appointment link until 15 min before appointment just to be told my child is to young to be seen there. Do not recommend.
Ian Connelly: My experience at your business was literally the worst therapy I've ever had. It was a bunch of white/affluent women telling each other it's okay to act poorly when you feel bad.
breez: had a most deceptive therapist whom my insurance wisely disqualified from my VA insurance. As a retaliation this therapist used some private information that was no longer valid to create an excuse to harass me as a client . Mis -interpeting an outdated form used to try to implicate me as a serious threat to myself . Which this woman knew better . And after Was trying to find out what the reason was that my insurance , discontinued her. The following morning after most recent appointment there .Police Crisis Intervention Unit . Showed up at my front door at her insistance , just as i was on the phone . Attempting to decypher Theinsurance problem . This was a direct cause and effect in retaliation to my having to stop seeing her . There was no issue , that reflected any concern for my well being .Phoned the of Lilac owner to try to straighten this out , owner was fully supportive of the offending shorter gray haired therapist Debra. Much to my dismay .but the Lilac center is handicap accessible.
Linda Drozd: Total waste of time!!! Took my insurance info, spent over an hour in an intake interview...only then to be shuffled off to person #2 who left a msg with # which was always busy...weeks later...I speak to them to only find out there are no openings..omg!! Why? I could have been dead by now!! Why waste my time!!!!! Smh
Soapz Yt: Very unprofessional never called for my phone appointment amongst various other things like never receiving the materials from the last appointment. Called Lee’s summit office to see what the issue was and to possibly speak to a manager. Susan was very unhelpful did not listen to my concerns and just wanted to reschedule and said that the manager is NEVER available for phone calls. These services are entirely to expense to conduct business like this for mental health!- Response to Lilac center I should absolutely not have to make a Google review to get management help that I needed. Also I keep receiving a billing invoice for services I never received just bad business and money hungry
Angela Munoz: My experience with Lilac Center has been life- changing. The skills I have learned in DBT group therapy coupled with the individual therapy that I have received have allowed me to transform from a state of high reactivity and emotional dysregulation with no will to live into a functional member of a family, a workplace and a community who looks forward to living every day.Transformation like this does not happen overnight or without committed individual effort. I have been with the center for 2 years now and have utilized their services for teenage family members, extended family and couples counseling. The staff of therapists have always been responsive and caring and realistic about services available and potential individual outcomes. During lock-down, the staff went above and beyond setting up virtual spaces for clients to continue to receive services uninterrupted.I see the commitment and dedication of the owners to work to expand services and reach as many in need as possible. I have found the staff at the center to be highly empathetic, genuinely compassionate and firmly committed to restoring balance to unbalanced souls in an unbalanced world. The Lilac Center did not save my life...they provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to save my own life.
Jenna Lord: I have been going to the Lilac Center for years and it has really helped me get through a lot of painful times.
Chasity Krueger: Very slow response time and counselors do not send requested information to doctors offices. I have been waiting for them to fax information since March and they still have not sent it over a month later. I was also approved for visits with my EAP but was then told by Lilac they do not accept those as form of payment. Good luck trying to reach a live person in the phones!
Brenda Lebsack: This facility is a disappointment. My daughter has attempted to seek counseling there since April/May. Took 6 weeks for just an intake interview. Facility failed to call so we attempted another phone interview which took another 2 weeks. Finally virtual Counseling appointment scheduled 3 weeks later. On day of virtual session, no phone call/no email/no nothing. I followed up with email to counselor who did intake survey. No response, so emailed again to hear she would call me when she had time. Heard back only to be told “sorry this happened, counselor no longer works for us, doesn’t look like there’s any openings in the near future, blah, blah, blah. I told them we would seek treatment elsewhere. Very unprofessional. Waited 3 months for nothing to happen.
Jacob Shively: Dr. Trueblood does not care about her patients. She stopped seeing me without a reason and dropped me after only seeing me for 3 months. I do not recommend anyone to see this woman. Extremely untrustworthy
Alejandro Y: I booked an appointment to have a consultation with someone about using there services. Front desk was unattended and after waiting a few minutes someone finally showed up to get me checked in. No apology and i had to ask about new patient paperwork. I didn't feel a warm welcome from the start. They were friendly, but I had this feeling like I wasn't welcome. The woman I had the consultation with said she would contact me about setting up an appointment with one of their therapists but I never heard back from them. I even had my girlfriend call and ask, but they never got back to her either. Asking myself if i seem too healthy should not be a question i contemplate. Finding help should not be this difficult or shameful.
Brooke Hass: Unorganized. Set up an appointment, went through the (very brief) consultation only to not be followed up with with an appointment with a selected therapist as promised. I called after a couple weeks of never getting that follow up. The receptionist took down the info and assured me there would be a call back. A few days later and I have yet to receive anything. They clearly do not care about mental health. Disappointing.
Shelly Ratzloff: Positive:Communication,QualityExtremely helpful. Ive finally come a long way on the road of true healing, still a ways to go.Amazing.
Angela Bond: The staff are always pleasant. The only down falls are having to reschedule often and the medication refills from the pharmacy. It takes the pharmacy trying to get refills response a long time to get the RX refilled. I have to call the RX line to get the refill taken care of and sometimes that takes a long time to process.
Leah: This place is extremely unorganized. I haven’t even seen an actual therapist yet and I’ve decided not to come here. I asked over the phone and in person (and even checked my own insurance) to make sure I would be covered if I came here. I drove all the way up to their North KC location (also told the receptionist that location is too far) for a 10 minute consultation to actually set up an appointment with a therapist that could’ve been done over the phone. Then I’m told at the end that all of a sudden my insurance will not cover my visits. Then they want me to schedule another appointment. They tried to bill me $115 for a consultation, and when I called, they didn’t even have my insurance on file anywhere even though I gave them my card to copy. Do not come here, they obviously don’t care about your mental health, just your money.
Elizabeth Reiter: Wonderful experience with Amy and looking foward to working with a therapist....so glad I found a place and felt comfortable and safe to Express my thoughts and feelings with Amy...
Jeran Anderson: I have been helped tremendously through group and individual therapy at the Lilac Center. Amy is a very loving and supportive therapist. I have felt constantly supported through my journey with mental illness. I can not recommend the Lilac Center enough.
Jeffrey Jans: For the last 2 years I have Learned and used the skills. Family and friends notice much improvement. Amy is not only an expert she is a patient and excellent facilitator. She is also authentic with her concern for us all. She has a great sense of humor

Ability KC - Main Campus: what do users think?
Nicole Noblet: Horrible customer service, I received a speech generating device from Talk to Me Technologies through the assistive technology department and a wheelchair mount for my manual chair and have been trying to contact them to get a mount for my power chair and to get additional help setting up my AAC for 4 months and they never call me back. This is the only assistive technology provider in Kansas City Missouri and they are not helping me get what I need to communicate.
ryan heinlein: Amazing therapist's here that know the job and care about all patients!! Definitely recommend
Saleh Ali: My son attended their Therapeutic (Pre) School and I'm absolutely grateful to the staff for their patience, tenacity, and wisdom. The staff are incredibly loving, the building is always clean, and they provide a wide range of therapies in-school so I didn't have to separately find them elsewhere and worry about the logistics. My son went there for 8 months and we're moving states, is truly a unique school that met all the needs of my child and will be truly missed!
Chrystal Brown: My son has been waiting on a talking tablet for five years or more. I’ve been calling this place and nobody calls me back. I don’t know how you’re supposed to get a talking pad and don’t know if they even listen to any of the recordings. I don’t know about you, but if you have this much trouble and nobody wants to call you back, your son really needs to Talking Pad’s That’s not professional.
Mary Begulia: friendly helpful staff
Ju Lo: My son has been here for just about 2 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way! He has grew to bond with all his teachers & they really have gone out there way to see him progress! Finally I have a peace of mind while being away from him!
Melissa Childers: In January of 2021 I suffered a sudden spinal stroke paralyzing me from the waist down. I chose Ability KC for my outpatient PT/OT. From start to finish everyone was amazing! The campus may not be new and flashy but the sparkle comes from the inside. The therapies and approach to aid in recovery are thought out and personal to each patient. The therapists and nurses helped change my life for the better. They taught me how to not only live from a wheelchair, but thrive. I would recommend Ability KC to anyone looking for the best care and rehabilitation needs.
Audra McDermott: My wife goes for therapy 5 days a week, it has truly helped her physically, emotionally and psychologically. She was paralyzed on the right side from the stroke and did not want to live. Ability KC has brought back the fighter in her. Yes they do play games occasionally(which are to help with visual and speech) but she gets physical and occupational therapy daily. She enjoys the stroke education and other group activities. If I could give it more stars I would. I have never felt like it was a money or insurance grab. From Admitting, social workers, psychologists, therapists, nurses to techs and anyone I missed, we can't thank you enough for all you do.In the 4 weeks she has been there she is walking with a cane and is able to move her right arm!
Bill Romines: I came to Ability KC as a stroke victim. They were recommended to me as an aggressive rehabilitation program. I enrolled on a 5 day a week approach. Initially my first week was suprising. I was scheduled for things like rest, cards, warm up. My first session of warm up was @ 15 minutes of arm stretch in a group of about 10 people, then the therapist suggested we all play a game. After the class I explained I did not come here to play games or rest. Immediately my schedule was changed to speech. Occupational, exercise, and physical therapy. I will say the therapists were all dedicated. My problem s began after just a few weeks a case worker called and informed me they would switch me to 3 days a week. I knew it was not due to my insurance, but did not get a real explanation.i was told the change would take place on a specific date over a week away. The next time I came in i found out I wasnt scheduled at all that day the change had taken place. I called my wife and she had to drive back in to pick me up.. i soon started my three day a week schedule with physical, occupational, and exercise. Within weeks I wasinvolved in a fall at home that prevented my return for two weeks. Upon my return iI was informed I was not to re ieve the hour of excersize. This to me was unexplainable, i was using the machines to work my legs a d i prove my core strength. I was told they had new patients and they had to make room. Now in left with driving in from north of the river 3 days a week for only two hours therapy per day. I was told last week this week was y last, i could return in 3 to 6 months to continuee. So i came in Monday my wife came in to meet with occup4 therapist. She told us that she had been told by the case worker she had o further authorization from insurance company. We knew that was right because we had letters in hand that gave authority for therapy into November. When i left i told my wife I'm done with Ability. The therapists are great, their management is abysmal.
Nicholas McElroy: Ability KC is absolutely fantastic. The staff go above and beyond to be as helpful and knowledgeable about what you or your child may need. I highly recommend them ten times over.
Karen Horton: Outpatient occupational and speech therapy at the preschool for my young grandson have been great in every way. Highly recommend.
Kimberly Fry: We absolutely love the Children's Therapeutic Learning Center. Our 3 year old son started there this fall and it was everything we hoped it would be and more. He has a rare genetic disease that causes him to have seizures, learning disabilities and behavior issues. The student to teacher ratio, his consistent therapy and the level of training the teachers receive in order to best teach him has been a game changer. The progress he has made in 6 short months in remarkable. We are so happy with our decision to send our son to Ability.
Patti Zern: My husband attended for 6 weeks and I stayed the day with him. If I could give a 100 stars for this place I would!!!
Nick Alexander: Our son has made tremendous strides since coming to Ability! Love this place.
Etta Thomas: Excellent and caring staff
Terry Hoppenthaler: Ability KC is hands down the best the best thing that has happened to our family since my husband suffered 3 strokes and a GI bleed in March and April of 2019. These people are compassionate and caring. They push the limits to get patients back to where they want and need to be. I must address a couple of the negative comments here. The first one is about Ability being all about the money. NOT TRUE! My husband goes Mon-Fri. and from the initial evaluation we knew how long he was projected to be there. He has progressed to points where he might feel as if he is ready to do something that his PT. Nate might not think is a good idea yet. We absolutely trust his testing, his education and his experiences to tell us when things should happen. Nothing would be worse than regressing with a fall. I do not have a degree in physical therapy and rehab so I leave that up to the people I entrust with my husbands care. The other issue is regarding visiting a friend at Ability. I have spent full days with my husband there and sometimes I leave him for the day. Usually I arrive about 30 minutes before his last therapy. I exchange pleasantries with Leonard at the front desk, go to my husbands therapy board listing and then look for him. No Leonard does not not know where my husband is. It's not his job. If Joe is listed in PT he could be outside walking, taking laps around the building, working on a mat, on the tread mill, testing, playing ping pong for balance. They are not restricted to one area. If he is listed with OT he could be in the quiet room working on cognitive puzzles, in the gym with the visual board or in the kitchen working with kitchen prep. He also does exercize class, yoga and group. All I know is that he's not there to visit he's there for rehab. And wherever is is at Ability it will be the best care he could get anywhere. The progress and hope that I see every day is heartwarming. This is the best kept secret in KC for rehab and I highly recommend it
Justin Rosenberg: Great therapy for a stroke
Mandy Danforth: Ability KC is the BEST intensive rehabilitation center in KC! My son has been a patient there off and on for almost 10 years. The quality of care he has received, the knowledge of the staff, the amount of resources under one roof is unlike anything Ive ever seen. They work well with my sons doctors at Childrens Mercy-which is super helpful! He has received OT, ST, PT, as well as attended adaptive swim and multiple summer programs. My son was 2 when he became a patient and is now almost 12, I know we will continue to be a patient for life! As he gets older I look forward to him being a part of their driving program and vocational services. I cant say enough good things about this facility & the staff! If you are looking for premium rehabilitation care Ability KC is your go to!!
Andrew Hemenway: Wonderful organization. Have volunteered with them several times and have observed how much of an impact they have for the people of Kansas City area. While I personally haven't received services with them, I can tell you the opportunities I've had to interact with members of their staff through volunteer events were enough to know that they have a real passion for what they do.
Emily Dunn: I came to visit a friend here two months ago and had one of the worst experiences of my life. The receptionist (an older gentleman with gray hair) was incredibly rude and almost made me cry in the 30 seconds I spoke with him. I very kindly asked if he knew where my friend might be, and he aggressively responded that he had no idea and I should know where the person was that I was visiting. I asked politely who might be able to help me and he pointed to a room and told me to go in there. There was no one in the room for several minutes, and when someone did come in that I could ask, we spent the next several minutes wandering the halls looking for my friend. She was unable to help me find her (which is alarming to me that staff are unable to locate their patients at all times), and passed me off to someone else. This kind woman was able to help me finally find my friend. The inside of the building was extremely dated-looking and honestly reminiscent of a psych ward. Another negative aspect was the parking garage, which appeared to be abandoned on first look. I passed it initially and then circled back after realizing that it had to be the right spot. Overall, it was a disturbing experience and I hope to never go back.
Amanda Robertson: Ability KC staff are all amazing! We have had the best experience.

Missouri Department of Mental Health: Division of Developmental Disabilities: what do users think?
Damita Taylor: Well at first great for the first 3 years, then my son got a new case mngr...things went to hell after that!
Cloe Bear: If I could give this regional government office a zero - - or less--I would do it! Go to EITAS instead of this heavy-handed, big-government, regulation-laden, bureaucracy that cares more about its regulations than the vulnerable people they are supposed to be serving. And I have 25 years of experience trying to work with these people, so I know what I'm talking about!
Theresa Bahner: Great place to work in social services field. Supportive and positive leadership.
Shelley Walsh: We have had so many different case supervisors I cannot even count. When you are assigned to a new one, you aren't even told. I feel they are not knowledgeable about help and programs available to refer you to in the community. I have just been very disappointed over the years.
Tina Willis: Horrible place to work. Case managers do the most work and they are the ones that are heavily criticized and walked out of the front door. It almost feels like prison you never know when you're going to be released
Stevie White: This is the most wonderful place my child went to since she was very young and still help when is needed kalyn White and mom is very grateful thanks thank dentist
Crystal Henry: I asked for help from the Regional Center with my severely autistic daughter over a year ago. I was told to go through this place to get my daughter into a group home. My doctors advised that that would be best for my mental health. The Regional Center said Medicaid has made cutbacks but with notes from our doctors we should be approved for funding. They have now went back on that. They are forcing us to go through their in home care program in an attempt to save money. My family has already tried in home care and it was a huge disappointment. I've been taking care of my daughter for over 21 years. If you need help, this is definitely not the place to go. You will be let down.
