But I want to give well earned praise to Sydney’s for easing our anxiety. Every encounter we’ve had with the place is top notch. When our peekapoo, Ollie wasn’t eating as much as he should, they contacted us to ask if they could add pumpkin or chicken broth to his food to entice him to eat.No one wants to be parted from their favorite pet. But if you have to, you should feel good about your choice at Sydney’s. They are competent and caring. I don’t write reviews often. This establishment allows vicious dogs to engage in playtime and doesn't monitor carefully. This place is dangerous and completely unacceptable.

Julie Clark: I hate to write this review. Our first experience a few months ago was absolutely fine. We felt like our dog was well cared for. She stayed a second time over New Years for 2 nights and we have had a completely different experience. Our dog is shaking and afraid of us. She is timid and cowers. She is not eating well and we have a difficult time engaging her to play. She was a snuggly dog prior to this second stay and now she won’t even snuggle with us. Something definitely had to have happened while she was there. When we called to inquire and talked with the manager, we were told everything was fine when she was there. I will definitely not be taking her back there, I highly recommend others don’t either. The vet said it may take months for her to act normal again after this traumatic experience. If you go back and read the 1 star reviews, this seems to be a common occurrence. I wish I would have saw those reviews prior to taking our beloved member of the family there. We are beyond crushed.

Joel Roth: Regretfully I am writing this review. The first time I took my dog to Pete and Mac's she seemed to do well and was taken care of. This past weekend was a completely different story. I came to pick up my dog and she couldn't leave fast enough and seemed very timid and afraid, which is odd because she is very playful and loves people. When I got home I noticed she had giant sores on her mouth that seemed a few days old (my dog was boarded for 3 nights). I pay extra for my dog to have solo play time so she wouldn't have received these from playing with other dogs. So either she was muzzled and left muzzled for long periods of time, or she was anxious and nervous in her kennel and Pete and Mac's did nothing about it. They never informed my wife or I that she was in distress or that anything could have happened. I would hope for a courtesy call to inform me if something has happened to my pet. When we called to make this right they told us they could do nothing and that it's not their fault. I am a big animal person and would recommend not taking your pets here because heaven forbid something does happen, you will not be informed, they won't try to make it right, and they won't care what so ever. I am sad to have to write this review because of how good our first experience was, but this has ruined this place for me. I will not allow a member of my family to be mistreated and for a business who claims to care for animals not care. I will be letting all my family, friends, and coworkers know this as well to keep their pets safe. For those of you who haven't experienced this, I am glad and hope you never do.

It makes me feel SO good and safe to leave her there while I am traveling, and she loves the day camp days too! I've been bringing her for several years, and never once had a bad experience. I adopted my dog at age 6 and now at 10, she has never gotten sick while staying there and has always returned to me just the happiest camper! I had to board my sweet pup over Christmas one year and they even made a Christmas ornament for me with a picture of her face 😂 Just ABOVE-and-beyond care and customer service! C L: We love Camp Bow Wow! You can tell the workers really care about the pups and take the time to get to know them and their different personalities. The different enrichment programs are so fun (we recently got St. Pattys day and Easter photos!). I love that they typically keep them out in the yard late in the day because I have heard that other places put them up in the kennel starting early in the afternoon. It is also fun and reassuring to be able to check up on your dog using the cameras in the mobile app. They are very popular/busy so you have to make sure you schedule day care probably a week in advance, so they might not work for people who only need drop ins every once in a while, but Camp Bow Wow is great for dogs who consistently go to day care.

Kim Beckman: This place is just the best. I always feel comfortable leaving my dog with them. He practically jumps out of the car and runs to the door every time. The staff is so friendly, and always greet him by name. They are just as happy to see him as he is to see them.

Faith Ries: The Camp Bow Wow Westport team is incredible. I cannot sing their praises enough! My dog Chika goes to camp three days a week, and it’s the best thing I ever did for her. Jess, Rhonda, and the rest of the team take fantastic care of her, and they all make an effort to get to know my dog, her needs, and her quirks, on a personal level. It’s so comforting to know that when I’m working and unable to give her the time and attention she deserves, she’s with a team that loves and cares for her in my absence. When she’s at CBW I never worry because I can check in on her at any time of the day on their live feed cameras, and she always comes home a very happy, very tired pup. ❤️

Kelly Hamilton: Initially, we had a great experience.The groomer helped our nervous dog become acclimated to the salon, the grooming, and to the groomer at her own pace. Things were going better than we immagined they could until the groomer left her job and our dog was given over to a groomer she was not familiar with. After 3 or 4 groomings, our dog was fired for snapping at the groomer as she lost the cotents of her bladder and bowels on the grooming table. Our dog began at the collar club with anxiety and was fired from her previous groomer for the same reason. The first groomer at The Color Club was the salon manager. Things were going extremely well until another less experienced groomer took over. We would have preferreed to have minimal groomings over grooming appointments that caused more anxiety.After loosing her bladder and bowels during a groom our dog was told she could not return. We had to have her groomed under anesisia whils she had her teeth cleaned at her vet's office. She is a 10lb Havanese with a history of grooming trauma. Her fine cotton like fur mats easily. We are thankful for the shave down she recieved during dental treatment at KC Vet, but we are unsure how we'll move forward from here.The Collar Club seems like a great option for animals who have a history free from trauma. Use baby steps if your dog is in the same shoes. Best wishes.

Truffle can be anxious while boarding, but I was able to watch her on their webcams and see that she was very relaxed. Javier Medina: This is the second time I I’ve left my dog off here at the Collar Club. He was having some separation anxiety and they kept me updated on his status & took good care of our boy. They said his attitude changed quickly and was back to being his happy self. Definitely will always be our go to for someone to watch over our boy while we are out of town.

Lauryn Schneider: Greta (1 yo female GSD) was at Collar Club from Thursday - Sunday. Saturday night when I checked the cameras, I noticed that her bed (they give), her blanket and her toys were out of her apartment and she was just laying on the concrete. When I texted staff, they said she has an accident and that stuff needed to be taken out to be washed (a new bed would’ve been nice but not really the issue). When I picked her up Sunday afternoon, she came to me soaked in pee (had to be fresh if the accident was last night bc she was very wet) and limping on her right hind leg.Whether she had 2 accidents because she wasn’t getting let out enough or just because she was anxious (I’d hope the latter) - I still find it unacceptable for her to be left alone with it long enough for her to have to lay in it and be soiled on her entire underbelly / chest area.I called staff and they said they weren’t sure what had happened and that it could be from her water bowl. I have canceled my future boarding and won’t be using Collar Club again.

Sandra Price: Loved everything from the minute I walked into the door until I came back to pick up Blossom 🌸. The place is cute and clean, the women at the desk friendly and smiling, and the groomer who came out to get Blossom immediately started talking to my dog in baby talk. How did she know? Blossom is a recent rescue from a puppy mill, afraid of everybody, of abrupt movement and of noises, but she kissed the groomer goodbye! Oh and of course, she looks adorable!

Lydia Ross: Collar Club was recommended to my by my best friend, we both have boarded our dogs at other facilities in the area and have never been pleased with the experience. She boarded her two large female dogs here and was so impressed she referred me.My experience with collar club was exceptional, friendly, and easy. Most boarding facilities will charge you extra for a day care option, but boarding club includes that in your price. Instead of forcing me to bring my dog on a separate day several weeks in advance of my appointment (I'm looking at you Camp Bow Wow) to determine if his temperament would be okay with daycare, they did all of that WHILE he was boarding. I dropped him off and they performed a temperament test at the beginning of his stay and determined he was friendly enough for daycare.Now let me tell you why I LOVED their day care system. They do not separate your dogs based on size or breed, they separate them on personality and temperament which is huge. My dog is a lab mix but he is older and not very active or playful, so it worried me that he might be stuck in a room with all hyper large dogs. If you have a hyper Pomeranian, that doesn't mean your small dog should be with a senior Dachshund.Finally, the customer service was exceptional. When booking my appointment online I didn't even need to attach any vet documents, they contact your vet directly and handle it all for you. So easy! Whenever I had a question, I was able to call and speak with someone friendly right away and get my answer. They truly try to make the boarding process easy for you and comfortable for your dog. I didn't even need to package my dogs food a certain way, I could just bring it in it's giant air tight container and leave it there with him.We paid for 10 nights, but they let me drop him off as early as I would like the first day with no extra charge, and pick him up later as well. We paid extra for an exit bath and nail trim, he was perfectly dry and smelled so so clean! I could tell he was well loved here :)We will only use this kennel for daycare or boarding now.

We love the option to view our dog on a video camera while we are away to give us an extra peace of mind. You can even have your dog participate in dog dayplay while boarding at no extra cost. Kristen Bontrager: We do private training with our very spicy cattle dog puppy. He is a LOT of work and Jessica is absolutely amazing. Working with her as his trainer has given us so much confidence AND he has been showing great progress very quickly. I cannot recommend this organization enough, specifically training with Jessica. She is incredible and genuinely knows how to train dogs and people. After working with her for only two sessions we can now pet our puppy while we feed him and many other exciting accomplishments. I cannot wait until our pup is neutered so he can join day play. Speaking of day play, I saw the day play room filled with dogs and attentive staff and just about every dog was just sitting around calmly and having fun. It eased all my anxiety about doggy "day care".

Scott M: My dog passed the temperament test with flying colors and experienced a great first day with no incidents. I felt very comfortable with the friendly staff so I decided to see if this was the right place when traveling for work.While away, I was fortunate enough that my fiancé was monitoring the cameras. She was unable to locate him for over 3 hours so she contacted the front desk. They informed her that he was aggressive and was instigating fights and he was no longer welcome to enter the daycare area. That is far from his character but that wasn't the issue. As an owner, I was not contacted by staff to explain the situation and to fully understand what transpired. On top of that, overcrowding is a major problem in the dog daycare area (over 60+ dogs in a small contained area) and this naturally causes additional friction between dogs.Communication is a must when strangers are watching your animals. Contact the owner directly if there is an issue instead of hoping the owner isn't monitoring the cameras. Be proactive, not reactive.

The facility is very well maintained and clean. Before leaving Emily asked me questions about my dogs to make sure their stay was the best. I was glad to hear that my dogs were going to be able to be in the same room together. I know they were well taken care of because they were not anxious at all when I arrived to pick them up. She provided us with daily pictures of our pups. They had so much fun playing in the fenced in yard with the other dogs. I'm always worried about leaving my pups in boarding because they've always returned scared or stressed out, but this was the first time that they were stress free and didn't want to return home because of how much fun they were having!

Lauren McLean: I have been using Kate’s canine since I moved to KC 6 years ago and have nothing but great things to say about their daycare and boarding services. Tracy is super accommodating and makes sure your dog is well taken care of. It’s so comforting to know my dog has a safe and fun place to stay while I’m on vacation or at work! Would highly recommend to anybody looking for daycare/boarding in the KC area.

She communicates very well leading up to the drop off date and even sent pictures of our two dogs while they were with her for several days. Not to mention we booked the week of Christmas on very short notice, but she was more than accommodating. We got the boys back today and could tell they were so happy to be there. Not anxious like they usually are when picking them up from a boarding kennel. They also smell really good and she sent them home with bags of treats :) Nancie is the best! We had very little background information about Missy going into the adoption other than she suffers from separation anxiety, and is unfamiliar with ‘how to be a dog.’ She is interested in meeting other dogs, but prefers low stimulation. The staff at Dog Pawz have been incredible from day one! They’ve been very helpful by working with Missy and making efforts to introduced to new friends, and they have treated her like their very own.... being careful with her needs and showering her with love and affection. I couldn’t believe this information. It’s not smart and one day they will have a huge liability if anything ever happens because they left a bunch of dogs alone together.I took my fur babe to camp bow wow! They never leave the dogs alone, they said my furbabe was great! I would recommend camp bow wow if you’re looking or find that dog paws is just not right for you ♥️

Nicholas Sloan: My wife and I have used Dog Pawz Westport a number of times now, and every time we’ve used them, our dog returns home happy as can be, and worn out AF.We typically opt for the bath at the end, and our dog comes home smelling great and looking even better (honestly probably smelling better than me).The staff has always been great to us, and has always taken great care of us and our spoiled fur dude.

Laleh Emami: I have had a wonderful experience with dogpawz. Unfortunately, it can be expensive, but their prices are the same as other places i had also looked into. Each day I brought Rufus, he'd come in wagging his tail and the welcoming him and petting him. Often I was jealous of how much he loved them and then I came to the realization that I am so happy and grateful that the people I am trusting my dog with love him and he loves them back. They are also willing to work with you if you ask about training commands and if you ask them how they manage your dog. My dog has fear aggression. He has been going there since he was barely 6m old and he's almost been going there for a year and they have helped me with him so much. Rufus loves going there!

Catherine: I'm going to be honest here. I have contemplated writing a review for this place since July. Here I am in September writing the review because I regret leaving my dogs here.Firstly, this facility is quite literally a concrete box with concrete rooms. No sunlight, no outside space, and hardly anywhere for your dog to actually relax. (There is maybe 1 or 2 of those hard cot style beds for all of the dogs to use). The smell inside is really bad. Obviously I don't expect it to smell like roses because its a business for dogs, but this is by far the worst smelling dog boarding/ daycare I have ever been to.This business claims that they take your dog on frequent walks, but the lady at the front desk told me it entirely depends on how hot it is. She said if its higher than 90 degrees they don't take the dogs out. Well, in July that's every day. So basically all of the dogs used the bathroom inside every time they needed to go. Not just accidents.The staff does not interact with the dogs like they claim. Honestly, I find it hilarious that they offer live video because it just makes them look bad. I checked the live camera very frequently and never saw someone actually interacting with the dogs.Additionally, BOTH of my dogs came home with an upper respiratory infection that took 2 and half weeks to get rid of. Probably from the gross environment. I now know why this was the only boarding facility to have availability on July 4th weekend.I don't know how this business operates during cooler weather, but I can say in July of 2021 I was not pleased. I felt quite guilty for leaving my dogs there.

Cooper Harris: This place is affordable but you get what you pay for. Left 2 of my dogs here for 6 days. They both seemed very normal at pickup, excited to see me, whimpering etc.As soon as I get them home I noticed one of them has a limp in his front left paw, constantly licking it, and a decent sized scab on his nose.The other dog has a horrible cough and is lethargic.I’m fairly understanding I get that things happen but not a word was said to me about them at pickup. I am completely in the dark about what has happened to them only left to guesses. Pretty lackluster caregiving if you don’t even mention problems that arise.Won’t be taking them back here again. Getting a few smiles and savings a few bucks isn’t worth my dogs health. Use at your own risk.

Staff are always friendly, I can tell they truly care. Also, Lea is amazing for training! She knows dogs and how to work with them better than any other trainer I've talked with before.

Crystal Roppa: This is an amazing place! I have a pit bull that we rescued 8 years ago. She does not like other people or dogs. I was so paranoid that something bad would happen when I boarded her. This was the best experience for both of us. She let the staff pet her! She always comes back home happy! She even walks up to the staff when we are leaving and nuzzles against their legs to say goodbye. This is an amazing place! I highly recommend them.

Michael Gordon: We board our cat, and he’s never uttered a bad word about the service. Staff are friendly, take good care of him, and I like that the cat area has some natural daylight, and relatively large enclosures compared to many cat boarders.

david timberlake: They did a good job with my pet and boarding is easy to do online. 2 minor issues cost a star. They didn't return one of the prescriptions and he supposedly had a bath the day before we picked him up but he was very dirty so we gave him a bath ourselves. They are really good with the pets other than those items on the last visit

Jawuan Pugh: I am leaving a 4 star review because I can not seem to ever get a call back or get someone on the phone here. I have a boarding scheduled for the end of the year and I tried to cancel, modify it online but wasn’t able to. So I left a voicemail about two weeks ago and nobody ever followed up. Before the first time we took our dog her for boarding we called 3-4 times before and nobody ever answered or returned our calls. Besides the lack of call backs they treated our dog well.
