Noelle M.: NIGHTMARE!!! BEWARE!! Took 30 minutes to get my car when I arrived and gave me complete opposite of what I reserved. Then the next day to get back to the airport the car wouldn’t start!! The thing only had 15k miles on it so clearly they don’t maintain their cars. Save yourself the trouble and rent elsewhere.
Emily Jacobs: I made a reservation online and accidently clicked I would be returning the car to a different city. When I arrived in Kansas City I spoke with the woman at the front desk and we discovered my mistake, I said I will definitely be returning the car to the Kansas City Location and to please change any documents to reflect that. She said everything was changed and corrected and I would be charged the regular amount.Once the charge came through on my credit card it was TRIPLE the amount that is was supposed to be because the documents were never corrected!!! I tried to call them on several occasions with no communication. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THEM!!!
Phillip Kiekhaefer: Budget staff not there a half hour before their "close" time. My flight was a half hour late but I had put my flight info on the reservation. I even got Budget's automated email on landing that my car was waiting at Fastbreak desk and did I want Sirius radio? There was no way to call anyone at Budget and the national phone tree led me back to the local desk I was standing at. Luckily Avis and other car agencies were staffed at MCI rental center. Avis rented me a car. Hard to put a negative value on traveling all day with two girls and not having a car promised at 10:30 at night (they closed at 11 pm) -- no notice from Budget -- really stellar management, Budget (sarcasm). No sign at the place, no way to get through on the phone tree nationally. The automated phone tree said if I had put my flight into the reservation the local crew knew it and would hold the car for me (no, that didn't happen as I was standing at their desk well within their window of time and well within their official closing hours).

Syed Abbas Haider: On 3/23, I had a reservation for a Car pick up and when I got to the location because of lack of cars they asked me if I would be willing to pay extra $20 a day to get into a Camry which I had no issue paying so I agreed. I did the walk thru of the car alone and noticed a damage which I marked on the walk report. I left the location at 11:39am and upon 5 min driving on highway I noticed a windshield crack so I returned back at airport so at 11:47 I returned back and advised the agent of the crack.Immediately they brought the damage form, which I initially declined because I was returning to report an already cracked windshield from before that I missed to check because it was raining. The operations manager (agent 1147, white tall guy name Drew), told me people like you damage the car and come exchange the car. I asked him was he okay making that remark and it’s bizarre him not knowing me making racial and blaming remarks. He kept saying your not co-operating to the situation and he told me either I fill out the form or he will fill out for me and write anything on it. After 10 mins of going back and forth, he checked me out of the car charged me $710 for 20 mins and handed me the receipt saying if I don’t leave then he will have me escorted out of the private property.It was really embarrassing and humiliating how he acted and reacted to the situation in front of other customers and made me feel and kept saying “I know people like you do this all the time”. I tried to explain him that if there was a stone hitting then it would just be a simple crack in 4 mins, the crack wouldn’t be a big U-Shape (see picture attached) which he gave me a smirk smileHe kept blaming me plus said 16 times to have me escorted by security out of the building if I don’t fill the form and leave. I eventually filled out the form because I didn’t trusted of what he would write, and upon filling it he told me to leave as budget is not interested in getting my business. When asked to speak with someone else, Ops manager said there is no one except him.The deceit and lies of the agent was awful and even other customers and employees noticed. He handed me the receipt and walk away.Avoid this location at all cost choose enterprise but not Avis Budget

Moesha Baptiste: Please don’t rent a car for them! I rented a car and upon return was charged an extra fee for fuel without my knowledge. A receipt was never emailed to me after I returned it and I was not made aware of the extra charge until I checked my credit card statement. I returned the vehicle with a full tank, but they tried stating otherwise. What they didn’t know is that I recorded a video and took pictures of the rental car when I returned it including a video and picture of the dash board reflecting that I returned the car with a full tank. I emailed that to them and they had no choice but to refund me the extra charge for fuel. My problem with Budget is that they have terrible customer service and the agents are very rude. I had two agents hang up on me and the second one was unprofessional on the phone. The third representative I spoke to was able to assist me, but her customer service wasn’t the best either as her tone was rude at different points of the call. Once again, do not rent from them unless you want unexpected charges on your credit card after the fact!
Tim Porter: Guess I should have checked the google reviews prior to renting, a measly 1.1 rating it horrible. Got a very nice surprise on my credit card 2 days after returning the car. They charged me $150 in cleaning fee. I have heard about dishonest places like this charging after the fact hoping we will not notice. This is basically fraud. We have rented hundreds of time over the last 10 years, never from Budget and now I know why. Beware.I just read the other reviews, these guys should be embarrassed! Fraud and deceiving is not the way to stay in business in the days of the internet.

She says 'third party booking insurance is no good to me and we will come after you for damages sure I get it.. learn some customer service skills and don't be so hateful about it4. Corrie Mathews: A joke. After waiting hours for flights that kept getting delayed, I was stuck and needed a car. $31 for a Mustang? Yep. 'Would you like us to fuel it, or do you want to?' Was the question posed at the end...'we charge $1.98/gal'. Naturally, I wasn't driving far so I said they could fuel it.Return the car at ~415am the next day, sign a bill for $32 and I'm on my way.Days later, credit card comes in and I was charged $66! I call and get ZERO sympathy from a RUDE RUDE RUDE person; who explains what I was signing was the fuel bill. I used 4 gallons of gas and was charged for a whole tank-which was NOT explained to me by the original person.She said 'you signed it', I thought I was signing the bill!!! (The amounts were basically the same)Zero empathy, zero regard for customer service.What a joke. Zero courtesy from start to finish, zero care for their customer. They do NOT care that I was lied to by an employee.

Kirsten Ediger: When I picked up the car the lady told me it was an SUV and told me to go to the parking lot and do my own evaluation on the car. It was 10 pm and dark. There was no one in the lot to assist me and the only SUV in the lot was not the car she said I was getting. I went back in for help. She came out and pointed to the car, which was not an SUV like she said and told me to do the check over and went back inside. I'm left standing alone in the dark parking lot to do the check over myself with no assistance. Then I tried to start the vehicle and it wouldn't start. Now I'm going in for the second time to get assistance with starting the vehicle. I finally get all of that worked out and leave.When I dropped off the car, no one was in the parking lot (again) to receive the car. I walked in to drop the key and tell them I was there to drop off the car. The girl looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about. I handed her my contract and she printed the receipt and told me I was done.Thirty minutes later I get a phone call telling me there's damage on the car I'm responsible to pay for. The damage was not damage I marked down when I picked up the vehicle and no damage happened to the car while it was in my possession. No one from the company did a walk thru with me before or after. For all I know, the damage could have occurred once it was back in their hands after I dropped it off. This is the most unprofessional business experience I have ever received. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. This is the first and last time I will use any Budget nationwide. On top of all that, I purchased insurance from them to cover damages and they are telling me that won't pay for whatever this is they're accusing me of doing to the car. Why the heck did I purchase the insurance then?! Worst experience I've ever had!
Eric Burch: My girlie and I tried to rent a vehicle to road trip with, as opposed to putting miles on hers and was met with THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!! The reservation was made well in advance only to find out once at the counter that I had to have a current bill from my current address...WTF!!! No where during the reservation ONLINE did it say I needed this...according to the very rude lady behind the counter, "it's our local policy"...again WTF!!!Anyway...we live fairly close so I return to grab a bill only to be rejected, AGAIN, because the address on my license doesn't match my home address....the rude wench went on to say, "if you were from out of town, we could rent to you"....and again I say...WTF!!!!So I'm thinking if this is your only choice....I guess you're stuck. But if you have any alternatives...and I know there are!! PLEASE USE ANY ONE OF THEM!!!! BUDGET CAR RENTAL SUCKS!!!!!!
therese haley: Do not rent from them. The staff was rude when I returned the car. They refused to listen when I explained why the gas tank was not refilled. I told the desk person Raj that I had looked for the manual and could not find it. He said they assume renters know how to open the gas tank door. He told me I should have stopped at the near-by gas station and asked them. I was charged $8.99 per gallon of gas. I complained and it took a month to not get an adjustment. Corporate customer service was rude at the "higher up" levels as was KCI airport staff at those same levels. If you own stock in Budget sell it. Do not rent from this location or based on corporate from any Budget, Avis or Payless.

Chris LaFleur: Rented from this location numerous times. I was sick all morning and had to walk 2 miles here. - i didn't check google because ive been here NUMEROUS TIMES. I WASN'T NOTIFIED AT 12 OR 1230 OR EVEN 1245 THAT THE LOCATION IS CLOSING HURRY IN TO PICK UP YOUR RENTAL. Its always said 3 on the door.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car: what do users think?
Brian Webster: An absolute nightmare. Canceled 15 minutes before we were supposed to pick it up, saying no cars were available, despite having booked online. I’m sure there will be an automated post replying to this trying to make it right, but since their online bookings are useless and this has happened multiple times we will never use Enterprise again.
Devyn Payne: I’ve been using the enterprise on Main Street in Kansas City for many months now. My work requires rentals when traveling. The team Meka, Jahana and Fatima have been wonderful to work with and have made the process smooth and easy. I intend to continue to use enterprise, even for personal travel, based off the service I have been provided by them.
Alpha Landingham: staff was very friendly and professional. The app let me book a truck though they didn’t have any. They got me taken care of with a different car but needed the extra space in the truck. Not the staff's fault, Enterprise needs to address your booking policies via the app. This is the third time this is happened......

I responded frustrated because I was running late to work and upset that there wasn't a car available even though the reservation was made a week ago. Tracy Millbrooks: I’ve been renting from this location for years! It has been an amazing experience I will probably only rent from here! My last experience is what made this special. I was traveling to chicago with my 5 kids and my mother in-law and my aunt. At first we booked a Toyota Corolla. We then went back realizing this would not work. So we went back and Dom ( the manager ) and Johanna quickly upgraded us to a decent size Subaru. We were lapped up still but we were gonna make it work. DOM was not originally helping us. He just so happened to be looking at the cameras watching us load up into this Subaru. He came out and stopped us. DOM was worried about our safety being that it’s the winter time and I was doing all the driving he said look let me put you in a SUV No extra charge simply concerned with our safety. He said I can’t let you guys drive 7 hours away like that. My whole family cried tears of joy. I had been having a terrible week and just that act of kindness and professionalism made my trip so much better. Dom definitely made the process so much easier. I’m forever grateful! And I will only rent with enterprise because of this!!! Shout out to Dom at enterprise on Main st. He’s the GOAT!!!!!!!!
Mark n Lisa: My Insurance company setup a reservation for me on February 7th. On my way to pick up the rental the Enterprise office on Main called me and told me they had no rental for me. Told me they could get me one on Thursday Feb. 9th. They also said they would pick me up at 7:45 am. I very disappointed in the service. No one has come by to pick me up yet. It's impossible to call the office there because you get put on hold to a constant recording over and over. Then you get an automated message to call back later.
Phyllis Hardwick: All of the prior one star reviews are correct. I booked a reservation online the morning that I needed a vehicle for work obligations. Got a call from Nick that morning saying he wouldn’t have any cars until Monday (it was a Thursday). I had the same issue with the downtown Enterprise location. Customers, please have a backup plan for emergency vehicle needs because their reservation system is not reliable. It lets you book even when cars are unavailable. It’s a reasonable expectation for the company to know how many cars are available and not let you book a reservation if it can’t be fulfilled.Also Enterprise “Care Team” do not leave the automated post at the bottom of this review. After I left the review with the downtown location you told me to reach out with additional details. I sent the booking confirmation and a screenshot of when I was called 30 minutes before I was due to pick up the car and told none where available. I never got a response. The appearance of customer service without any customer service inflames the issue further.

I returned the car right as they were closing and was told I would only be charged for a day. Well that was a lie and got charged for an additional day. When I called to ask, I was on hold for 20 minutes just to be told they wouldnt take the extra day off and made it seem like my fault. They just lost a loyal customer.

The reservation was confirmed right away, but, when I arrived this morning, they had my reservation but not the car I reserved and very uninterestedin helping a customer that they just screwed over...I called Enterprise customer service who said they are having the regional manager call me asap...but still waiting on that call... DEFINITELY DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!!!

My pick up location was literally 5 miles and the representative refused to come and pick me up stating it’s either 5 miles or 10 minutes. Normally if you are either within 5 miles or 10 they will accommodate. However, this was not the case for this branch . This is not the first time I have had this problem at this particular location. This is the worst customer service for an Enterprise.

Jaime Spell: Dirty, smokey car, not a full tank of gas, car made noise like something was broken, "maintenance required" alert kept coming up
Michael Atkinson: I arrived at the rental counter at 10:30pm after a long travel day. The young lady said, "You can have an Explorer or a Durango." My rental was for a "Ford Edge or similar". At no point did she tell me that this was an upgrade and I would be charged $25/day extra. I had prepaid for the rental through Capital One Travel. I received an invoice for an additional $60.47 in my email. I called and was told that I had signed the agreement and it was on there. The agreement was verbally explained and I signed on an electronic pad which did not display the agreement. I called and was offered 50% off the charges. I declined and said I would not pay any additional fees. After about twenty minutes on the phone, the representative agreed to waive the charges. I will never use Avis again.
D R: Was notified on arrival that the car we reserved was not available. We were down graded and have still not received the reduction in the rate we were promised.

She asked me if I was okay with a particular vehicle. I said yes. Now I see from final charges that this was an upgrade. At any rental counter I’m asked if I want an upgrade and I decline. She simply asked if I was okay with a particular vehicle so I said yes. She pulled one over on me. I won’t be renting here again.
SHEILA BUSH-CARVER: SUV had something spilled in the back end on the drivers side, that had not been cleaned up. The vehicle was choppy to drive, plus the dash msg indicated it was in need of service.
Elizabeth Allen: Vehicle was not cleaned before it was given to me. There were tags in the back, cereal between the seats and sunglasses sitting in the front passenger seat. Sad part was this is a new vehicle that had less than 1000 miles on it. Then when I got home I was surprised with an additional $50 charge for according to the invoice and "agreed upon upgrade." I did not agree to an upgrade. I was not asked about an upgrade. They stated the vehicle that was available and I said "okay" but it was not made known to me that this was considered an upgrade that I would be charged for. I rent vehicles from Enterprise and Budget and have never been charged if they give me a vehicle that is larger than what I paid for. To say it was agreed upon is a lie. I will not rent from Avis again.

Tim: Scammy Avis rental car location. First, when I checked in at the front desk, the woman helping me apparently tried to sneak in some extra fees, which I questioned and she immediately corrected, as if it were an accident. However, had I not taken the time to read everything closely, I would have been charged extra just because of her supposed mistake. Second, I was erroneously charged an extra fee for missing gas after I returned the car with a full tank of gas (which I had filled up at a station literally 3-4 miles away from the airport). When I called Avis to dispute this charge, I was not helped in the least and instead told that it wasn't their job to fix this. It appears to me that this Avis location is scamming its customers, and I would highly advise against using them for your rental car needs.

Karie Hays: Charged for keys! We called about after hours procedures for drop off. Not only told to leave keys in glove box, there is also a sign in the parking area that says to leave keys in car. Never using Hertz again. Thanks for tarnishing our once a year vacay to see our grandchildren!!

Also, the gate agent let us out the gate without proper paperwork SMH. I do NOT recommend Hertz - MCI. Do yourself a favor and go to Alamo, Enterprise or National.

Werly Hyppolite: I rented a Luxury car from this location for two weeks. I Drove the car for one week and come to my surprise it stopped working the first weekend. The car would not crank, complete blacked out. I reached out to National, so they placed a ticket to have the car towed. Also they were able to book me an Uber to the airport for a car swap. When I arrived to National, Brandon Snyder, the assistant Branch Manager at Kansas City International airport, was very helpful and very understanding to resolve my issue. He took his time to fully engaged in what was happening. I was able to make the Car swap effortlessly!! I Would definitely recommend this location for anyone who’s looking to book.

The one issue I had with a car was noticed before leaving the lot and the National staff provided me a different vehicle. One rental out of several hundred times of renting I had to request the receipt. The majority of the time they are quick to send the receipt for expensing purposes.

Upon returning the car, I refueled the car at the closest gas station to the rental car facility and then returned the car. Once I received my receipt for the car, I was charged for a fuel fee for 1 gallon of gas. Not a huge item but how does one refuel the car at a gas station and then be charged for 1 gallon of gas? To me, this feel like a money maker for National. I am an Executive Elite member with National, you would think that they would take care of their lifetime members. Sorry to see National nickle and diming their customers!

Daniel: A lesson was learned, never pre-pay for car rentals. I rented a car over the Internet for four days at Avis. Which I didn’t want to do, but couldn’t get ahold of them over the phone. I thought four days would be the approximate time the car was needed. It only took two days. I returned the car two days early and they would not give me any refund. So sadly I spent over $400 to rent a Toyota Camry for two days. Avis did not tell me that you have to pay for the time reservation irregardless of the usage time. They also said they can only give a refunds when you paid in person and if we would of called, they would of told us that. When I explained that i tried to call, they mentioned that their phone lines have been down. So i had to pay $200 extra because their phones weren’t working, which forced me to get go online if i wanted to use their business. I guess there was a reason they had a car available on short notice.

Jason Christiansen: Pre-paid over $1000 for a 2 week vehicle rental. As I had done numerous times in the past, I used my corporate fleet card to pay for the vehicle. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, Avis employee said they have new policy and would not accept my fleet card. I canceled the reservation, but Avis will not refund immediately, was told 3-10 business days. This is a terrible company that does not take responsibility for their poor reservation system.

luke minton: I have had the worst car rental experience of my life at the North Kansas City office. On day one the gentleman was very friendly and professional. (The reason for 2 stars vs one) After driving away, you the dust on the windshield, there was a chip on the driver side windshield. The bigger problem was revealed when I got the license plate number to register with parking service at work. The plates were expired. I had a long work day so called Avis first thing in the morning. After being transferred around, I was told to return the car to the NKC location and they would inform them so a car was ready for exchange. After waiting 15 minutes in line, the attendant (not friendly like the one on day 1) said no one had informed them of the need to exchange and had I filled the car with gas? I advised I had driven minimally, was not to to do so and was having to drive out of my way to exchange the car based on their error. He said there will be no charge after I asked for a supervisor. (I will double check the final bill) As I drove away, it became apparent that the exchange car is a mid-size and not a full sized car that I had reserved and was still being charged for. (Despite the attendant insisting it was) I called customer service when I arrived at work. After being transferred around I was able to speak with a professional service representative (also part of the 2 star vs 1 star) and was told they couldn’t make adjustments until after I paid the bill but gave me the number to call and a reference # to call after repaying the bill. (Trusting that will proceed as they said it will)When I returned to the car after work, temp now in the 60s from 30s in am and the car in full sunlight) it smelled so strongly of marijuana I felt nauseated and checked under the seats, etc. At this point I have no time or energy to exchange again so will resort to driving with the windows down.Though I might try Avis again, I will avoid the NKC branch for sureDenise Z

Stan Jendresak: I was a loyal customer of Enterprise for over 40 years until I received three problems in 3 consecutive rentals. Avis is now my go to car rental based on price, cleanliness of vehicles and most importantly customer service. Most recently I want to say that Richard of the North Kansas City branch quickly exhausted any list of superlatives. He should be in upper management mentoring others on how to treat the customer.
Justin Long: Look at your receipt(Rental agreement) Before you leave. After examining my receipt after I left I found I was charged a $5 fuel service charge after I literally just filled up around the corner! This is stealing with hidden fees.

Randy K: My friend had a reservation to pick up a car. The appointment was set for 9 am. We arrived, they didn't have any cars. We went to breakfast, came back, then they demanded we use their app to confirm the reservation and finalize the pick up of the car. The app wouldn't work and they refused to do anything to help. Made several calls to customer support and that was fruitless. We finally got a confirmation number, went back, then the staff insisted that we verify the email address. What's funny is that no one ever asked for an email address, so there was no way to confirm anything. We spent 2.5 hours messing around with staff and customer support and still didn't pick up the car that had been reserved. Either the staff is incompetent or just lazy. We finally returned home because we finally had to just give up.
