Todd Odell: I made a mistake and posted a negative review earlier. My wife corrected me and reminded me this place was amazing. Please go and experience it for yourself. Student of the Word of God: Kept hearing about this great place near the City market, so my wife and I decided to go. #1, we were sat in the corner near some dead plants so maybe that’s what caused the flies and gnats to invade our space. #2, our server wasn’t too pleasant. #3, a gnat flew into my food, when I tried to get my server’s attention, she walked right past me. It was probably a nice experience for someone else but ours was horrible. I keep hearing this from the same class of people too…black people. Idk…
Marvin Goeller: Great atmosphere on a Sunday brunch time. Food was excellent.Just reserve a seat before you go! Otherwise no complaints at all!Recommended dishes Pumpkin Marscarpone French Toast …More
Debra Sherman: Awesome service. Excellent food! A bit of a loud atmosphereFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Bree Berger: Best corned beef!!!
D B: Our group had a fun brunch experience, and I look forward to going back. We started with the cinnamon roll which has bacon pieces on top; it was good but the roll was a bit dry. The biscuits and gravy were great, and the bacon was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the mimosa tower, which was pretty good. Lastly, the service was excellent and our meals came out on a reasonable amount of time.
Jeff Weinrich: The Farmhouse never disappoints. Great food and staff.
Jennie Haskett: Recommended dishes SandwichMore
Diane McKinney: One of our favorite Sunday Brunch spots! We like to sit outside and this summer they have added a shade cover so it's more comfortable out there. All of the food we've had has been amazing. There is a regular Sunday brunch menu as well as a special menu specific to that day. I was dissapointed that they had run out of the ingredients to make the Mimosa special so I was forced to drink a regular one :(
Betty Jones: Came here for lunch/brunch. Super cute place. Street parking. Outside seating is very nice. All shaded! Coffee is a French press ☕️. Fancy!! Got the cinnamon roll to share. It was very large. Beware lol. It’s very sweet but the frosting is amazing. Got Lord kyler for the main meal. It was pretty good. I was imagining normal sausage, not pork sausage lol which would’ve made it better I think haha but flavoring was great. 👍Huge portion. And it came with super cute tiny fries 🍟 Lolol. Also got a taste of the salmon on toast and mmmm that was amazing. I’d probably get that next time! Waiters were super nice!!!
Kelli Hearn: The food is always great at The Farmhouse! I brought a couple of out of town friends here for brunch and high marks all around. The food was fresh, the bacon was crispy, and the vibes were immaculate. We appreciated the quick service! (Highly recommend splitting the cinnamon roll - and add bacon!)Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Corn Beef Hash, French Press Coffee …More
Austin Wasmer: I just had the best chicken fried steak I have ever had. The flavor with the grits and perfect sunny side up eggs make the perfect pairing. I had to keep myself from licking every morsel off the plate. So yeah, I will be coming back when visiting KC again.
Tyler DeFelice: Vegetarian options: The country biscuits and gravy are AMAZING!!! Between the service and the food, you will not be disappointed. I have been going for years and have never once, been let down. How have I not written an outstanding review before? That is my bad. Seriously, you HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT!!!
Kaden Belcher: I enjoyed the Farmhouse! My wife loved the corned beef hash, and the omelet I got was pretty good. I loved how the coffee was a pour over too! It did feel a bit pricey for the quality of everything, but I would still recommend going here!Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Daniel Nagati: You might be wondering why the average reviews of this restaurant are so high after you eat here. It's because this used to be an excellent restaurant before new management took over. Now the food is bland, the menu is stale and overpriced, and the service is terrible. If you were curious why a restaurant would only be open 2 days a week, it's because no one ever comes here. Head over to the next closest restaurant , which is at least open every day, even though their food is mediocre. How many days a week are you open for dinner now? (It's zero)

Kevin Huebner: The quirky/cool atmosphere does a lot of heavy lifting here tbh. The food is average and it's counter style ordering, so you get your own water / coffee refills. It's like, 'if your building is falling apart and you aren't paying wait staff why do the bacon and eggs cost so much?' Honestly, if this place was marginally cheaper than other breakfast places or if the food was amazing I would go to bat for them, I mean I want to like this place, but I can't...

Harvey's at Union Station: what do users think?
Nolan Wilson: Food was great, but $10 for 2 pancakes feels a little much.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Joe Deli: Fantastic food and ambiance.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Andy Dale: Sunday brunch was very good, but because of the small footprint of this restaurant, the seating area seemed makeshift. The table cloths didn’t fit the table and I felt like I was an afterthought. Our table for 2 was suited for a table for 6. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about Fred Harvey history. Unfortunately, when we asked him to validate our parking ticket he took it from us and brought it back letting us believe it was validated. We didn’t know until pulling out of the garage, but he didn’t validate and we were charged for our parking.

Harry W: I brought the family for the Sunday brunch buffet, it's about 30 dollars per person, but we all thought it was very average for that price. My biggest disappointment was the roast beef. It's so tough, so hard to chew, I almost have to spit out every mouthful I take in. It's painful. Many breakfast items like scrambled eggs, bacon sausage, those are just fine. What really stood out as outstanding is 1) the smoked salmon.. they bring out the whole fish, and that was very nice. Loved it. 2) the cocktail shrimp. those were large the juicy and fresh. I ate more than my fair share of those. A nice desert table with a good variety, but nothing to write home about, you could find the same things at a grocery store.. I don't think they made it there in the restaurant. Our service was very average. We noticed the next table's server was noticeably more friendly. She actually smiles and tries to talk to you. Ours just come and refill the water/soda. Not very social at all, maybe that's the way she is.Parking was unfortunately not free. it's 6 dollars per car. Total for 3 of us is around 120 for the whole experience. And honestly that seems hardly worth it. For 120 we could have much better food in KC so many other choices. But union state is magnificent, lots of activities for the family and the view is amazing where we sat.Anyway, overall I would not recommend the Sunday buffet. You may be better off order off of the menu, but I will have to come back another day for that. Only if I don't have to pay the 6 dollars just for the privilege of coming in the building.
Angie B: Great Bloody Mary, but the Sunday brunch is only buffet. You can not order off of the menu and it doesn’t tell you this anywhere online.
Tara B: We went there for breakfast before heading to science city. First off we got there about 15 minutes after "open" and they were not prepared for guests yet. We were seated and had our drink order taken. While waiting for drinks we witnessed a staff member eating while other people were being seated. After our order was taken, it took about 15 minutes for us to get our food. Let me rephrase that it took 15 minutes for my mom and daughter to get their food. I had to wait another 7 minutes for my food. My daughter got biscuits and gravy and her biscuits were hard and crunchy, I got the chicken and waffles and my chicken had no flavor at all, and my mom got the chamber light which was so so. I have to say, this was the worst experience we have had here out of the number of times we have been.
Karen Throckmorton: My husband eats at Harvey’s twice a week for lunch & loves it. He decided to surprise me for Mother’s Day and made reservations. The buffet was amazing! Thanks for making Mother’s Day special.
Larry Throckmorton: Excellent service, awesome food. Favorite lunch spot
Nichole Garrett: Food: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 2/5More
Brandi N: Made a 9:15am reservation for breakfast. Waited for 15 minutes before we explicitly asked to be seated. No one really greeted us at the host stand, just kept telling us "we'll be with you in a minute." After that happened 3 times, we requested to be seated seeing there were empty tables. We understood the staff may not be able to get to us right away but we didn't want to keep standing at the host area as there are no seats/benches. The server who sat us was rude. She flipped our menus on the table, walked away before we sat down, made no eye contact with us when she came back to take our order, someone else delivered our food, no one came to ask if our meals came out to our liking, rude server returned about 15 minutes after we finished our meals and simply asked "anything else for you?" My first experience here left much to be desired. Manager was responsive to our concerns. Listened and offered a discount. I appreciate the manager's attentiveness but I probably won't be back.
Kristina Murdaugh: Harvey's has a super cool location inside of Union Station, which makes for a beautiful atmosphere. I'd read online that the brunch buffet was apparently incredible and given it was my husband and I's final weekend living in KC we thought we'd give it a go.Before I get into that, let me give you some pros of this place. The hosting staff and our server were very attentive and kind; I was impressed at how fresh and tasty the fruits and vegetables were on the buffet; the buffet had a nice variety. Now, for the downsides. We took the street car here, so we didn't pay for parking. With tip, two buffets with Diet Cokes came out to a little over $80.A Diet Coke at this establishment is $5.50 per person. Those are darn near movie theater prices. And, honestly, I really wanted to like the buffet. I SO wanted to like the buffet. Everyone said it was good but... I did not care for it. The bacon was soggy, many of the dishes on the hot bar were cold, the sausage wasn't snappy, and we generally found that most of the dishes lacked seasoning. The prime rib was fine. The ham was fine. I liked the waffles OK. The desserts pretty much holistically were too dense and too sweet, though I do recommend this blueberry cheesecake they had with a chocolate crust. It was pretty darn good.I've had some fantastic buffets in my time but I do try to set my expectation into buffet mode when I go to one. That being said, we arrived right at 9AM. The food should have still been pretty hot and fresh. And with the Google reviews we'd seen, we expected for this meal to be a lot better than it was.It just felt like a hotel breakfast, prices and all.We left disappointed, for sure.
Rick Williams: I ordered take out so I had to go around the corner to order. The person who waited on me wasn't familiar with menu items and had been sweeping the restaurant floor prior to asking what I needed. Well, I wanted to see my food before packaging...no big deal, I thought... I asked to speak with a manager. The manager finally comes with a "what the hell is this guy wanting" type of attitude with facial expression to match. Well, I asked about the menu items and explained to the manager I'm in a terrible hurry and could I see the item before it was packaged for take out. He rudely says "no, we don't do that". Well, ii didn't want to go into a full explanation about my last food poisoning experience at another restaurant because remember I'm in a hurry. After asking a second time, I got the same answer. I then said no thank you but seeing MY ALREADY PAID FOR TAKE OUT was imperative and would make me feel more comfortable. The Manager then realized that I was not playing once he saw me begin to communicate w him, pushing my glasses toward to the end of my nose viewing him from over my glasses (you know how grandma would do when she was tired of foolishness). The menu items was delicious but the manager (I believe a member of the gay community, as well as I) took me back 40 years when I would attempt to have a cocktail at a famous gay bar downtown and was told "you have to have 5 pieces of state approved, pictured ID to enter this establishment" (true story). Nobody has 5 pieces of pictured state ID. Mind you, those many, many gay bar experiences here in "Klansas City" were some 50 years after Jim Crow laws (these gay bar experiences were in the 1980s...Jim Crow laws were active during the 1950s and 60s)... I was totally taken aback by the restaurant manager's over all demeanor and overall prejudiced aura. This experience bought back hidden trauma for me making me regret coming back "HOME"... food's good, management terrible. For those reading this piece and wondering...yes I'm old, Black and gay!

Blvd Tavern: what do users think?
Sheila Young: What an awesome brunch spot! From the time I called to make the reservation to the time I exited the establishment, everyone was so kind & attentive! Derrick, the manager was very personable, patient, kind and helpful. My best friend & I felt very welcomed & taken care of on our first visit. The mimosas were delicious, and the steak & eggs were to die for! I definitely feel like we've found our new brunch spot. Parking was a breeze, the vibes inside the establishment were good, and all of the staff members were accommodating, even if they weren't assigned to you directly. My friend and I had such a great time and experience. We are looking forward to many more visits in the near future!

John Glynn: I've walked by this place a bunch and finally decided to try it. Had the BLVD burger and it was really good. One of the best I've had in KC.Tavern-y ambiance, great service.Small note: they smartly give you LOTS of fries with the burger. This is one of the simplest moves you can do as a restaurant owner ... overwhelm people with what they love and doesn't cost you much in the difference between a large and extra-large portion. People love a value!
Abby Hailand: Could not recommend this place more! The new owners are incredibly nice and the atmosphere is a 10/10. Food and drinks were outstanding. Definitely a must visit!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Dawnel Davidson: The food at Blvd Tavern is just, flat out, delicious. The steak is cooked perfectly, medium rare is soft pink and beefy. Fried cheese curds are light, crispy, and tasty. Cocktails are well made and thoughtfully presented. This tavern should be a local hangout or drop-in for the neighborhood. Staff really takes a personal interest in ensuring a good experience. Please go.
Shea Love: Me and a few girlfriends decided to have brunch here for a birthday. We had the server Javier who we automate knew did not want to serve us. We actually heard him ask “why was he called in today?” One persons food came out at least 15 minutes before the rest of ours. The another bun was over cooked and Javier reached in her plate with his bare hands and took the bun back to the kitchen. One guy there with a very deep voice. Baritone (Ryan Williams) voice was absolutely amazing and made us feel welcomed. Javier should probably only work when he is scheduled.

ashley meyers: New owners are very welcoming as is the staff. My partner and I came in for food and drinks. I loved the summer spritz! Also the blackberry lemonade is a must try. Will definitely be back!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Blvd Tavern …More
Connor Alexander: Got reservations for Mother's Day Brunch here for 6 people. They put us in the back room that had folding chairs & tables, minimal AC, a too loud DJ, and weird lighting that gave me a headache. The weirdest part was we were the first one's there and they sat us in the back. Then I got up to use the restroom and there was a table of 7 in the front room who showed up way after.Food was good---the salmon benedict has just an insane amount of smoked salmon on it.
Victor Mendoza: Good food, but overpriced.
Phil Santillan: My Girlfriend and I decided to try this place out for the 1st time and I'm glad we did. The staff was friendly and the new owner Derek also checked on us a number of times to ensure we were being takin care of. Excellent service and VERY good burger! We'll definitely be back!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Caitlin Mahoney: Just perfect. We went for a Mother’s Day brunch. Food was fantastic. Everyone from parents and to the kids enjoyed everything that was ordered. Laura(?) was great. Kept our drinks filled. Checked on us and was just a great server even though I know how busy she was.Would 10000% recommend.
Joey Enderle: Went there for dinner Saturday for my friends birthday dinner and first thing I saw was the manager yelling at two girls as I cross the street. Right away it set the vibe and when I got in barely any people in there for dinner at 730. Staff is not knowledgeable about drinks. Can't make a mojito or a margarita. Staff also lied about not having veggies for substitutions as our friend got green beans with her cordon blue. My other two friends was forced to have salad instead of green beans when they didn't want fries or totes with there steak. I had the most bland Cajun pasta and even told the man I'll taste it and compare it to mine. Penne noodles would of elevated the dish but they use cheap swirl noodles. The shrimp was over cooked and the no Cajun spices at all. Had to drown it in salt and pepper to get it to taste not so bland. Only thing that was good there was the fries. Also they cannot split checks so make sure if you go with a large group make sure everyone has cash or Venmo. Never will be back.
Ashley Harvey: Saw the food menu and wanted to try this place out for our Saturday night outing. As we parked our cars and was walking to greet each other to walk over together a lady which we found out was named Megan was hollering at us very rude telling us we could not park there assuming we were not coming to her establishment and/or because of our skin color as she did not yell at anyone else. After her yelling at us we decided to find a different place to try. We moved our cars and started walking down the sidewalk to try a different place and she proceeded to speak to us negatively. She was clearly under the influence. Would not recommend coming here. If I could give it a -0- I would.
Leatrice Palmer: Extremely horrible! We hadn't even parked and Megan a staff member was outside screaming about parking and not patronizing the place. We were parking in their lot because we were coming in for dinner but after being screamed at we decided this wasn't a place we should visit. I'm certain Megan assumed because the color of our skin we couldn't read the sign. We won't be dining here and I wouldn't recommend it to any one else.Parking: Horrible
Lori Johnson: Delicious food and great location 😋Kid-friendliness: Our 10 yr old loved the big pretzel
Patrick Mullin: This place has fallen off hard. Used to be a reliable spot with good service and quality food (I miss the original kfc wings), and now it's a bit of a disaster. On our most recent visit the bartender who served us was definitely under the influence of something. Repeatedly had problems remembering our orders, was bumping into and dropping things, and put items on our tab that we never ordered in the first place. If what we received was decent quality then maybe it could be somewhat excusable, but even a basic vodka soda was flat and tasted off. We won't be back.

Rye Plaza: what do users think?
Jim Nance: Our experience was very disappointing. We had chicken and dumplings and the "world famous" chicken. Neither meal was anything special and definitely not worth the price. As far as a steak .... 100.00 bucks...nope. Staff was nice but again just ordinary. We actual had better staff and food at KCI airport on the way home. I would not recommend.
Cher Brown: One of my favorite places for breakfast and a bloody. Make reservations ahead of time to secure table seating otherwise there is bar seating on first come, first serve basis. J Barce: My wife and I took advantage of the VerizonUp deal. The VerizonUp menu is very limited, which is fair. We ordered the hanger steak, lemon pie and the banana cream pie.The steak was bland... flavorless. The desserts were just simply not good. We did order the burnt ends off of the regular menu, we did enjoy these very much. I also tried their old fashioned and the "barrel aged old square" cocktails. Both drinks were fine, but you can find better tasting drinks for less all over KC. Customer service was good, our waitress did well and the hostesses were friendly.

B. MIchael McFarland: We started with craft cocktails which were delicious and exactly to order. The whipped goat cheese appetizer was a wonderful blend of the sweetness of honey with the tart earthiness of the cheese. The deviled eggs were enormous, and the filling was creamy and not overly mustardy as some deviled eggs can be. The wedge salad was fine, though somewhat quotidian and lacked sufficient dressing. There is a reason that at almost every single table in the restaurant someone ordered the fried chicken. If you grew up eating delicious fried chicken made by someone who knew how to make delicious fried chicken, you will not be disappointed. This is among the best friend chicken I've had in Kansas City. Instead of dessert, I opted for the This Is Bananas cocktail, which is sublime. The staff was wonderful: attentive without being overbearing and extremely knowledgeable about the menu.

The American Reserve: what do users think?
Tom Shoemaker: Atmosphere is great, just short of stuffy formal cigar bar style. Service was pretty good. Just had a martini at the bar.Bartenders were young and came across as inexperienced in that casual conversational way that a good bartender has, but I am sure that will improve.Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lee Turner: Always have the most delicious food. This place never disappoints!
Janice Penn: Fast service food was excellent place was very busy this morning but still very fast and efficient with skimping.
Mr. Weaver: We had about 12 people no one complained about there brunch! Tom (the manager) was awesome! I can't remember our waiters' name but he was also me too! The best hospitality ever! Tom even told me about Lonnie's, I'll be trying that this Friday!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lance Godley: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes More
Alpha Landingham: Staff was on point. The restaurant space is rather small and feels kind of crowded. The decoration is art deco, strong 1920s glitz theme. The food was solid standard fare for a four-star hotel. Nothing bad just nothing all that special. I got the steak and my dad got the fish. Our server was definitely worthy of note as were the cocktails/bar.I would give the overall experience 3.8 stars. Enjoyable, but not exceptional.
Rudy Jones: Cool restaurant, nice ambiance. Food was good. Our service was slow, unfortunately. Ordered a drink that was on the menu which they didn't have. Appetizer plates were never removed from the table. Was never offered a dessert menu and our waitress rushed to get us our check and off our table.
Antony SiVelli Jr.: Ate there with my friend because he said selbychef works there… was pumped but apparently he left. The food was atrocious, the service was horrible! I’ve eaten at Gramm and Dunn when he was there… the food was 5 stars! Just shows you how important it is to have a passionate chef. Whoever is there now is absolutely not at the level of the beautiful space they have… can’t believe I wasted my money there. Gotta figure out where this guy went… his food was the best I’ve ever had in KCMO.
Your Friend Dimitry: The food sucks… should bring back that Russian chef. The food was good then.
Annette Berry: Located in the Ambassador hotel, you see a slew of different people, which adds to the electricity of eatery. I've been many times and the food is always good, service is hit or miss. On this last visit, it was definitely a miss. TRAIN YOUR SERVERS! I like Friday nights for live music and good drinks. If not for the consistently good food, I would not return. There are too many good places to eat in KC to pay for bad service, please fix it!
Lynn Williams: A very beautiful, well kept, awesome restaurant with great food at reasonable prices!Kid-friendliness: The children seemed at homeParking: Valet is the way to go!
Karan Sethi: Delicious cocktails and fine ambience 👍Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Steven Martens: Historical hotel restaurant with good food. This is a very nice dining establishment and they had a solo artist who was very good. The only complaint was it was too loud to carry on a conversation.
Charles Wells: One of the best steaks I've ever had in kc. Got the KC strip, they nailed it on the sides and the cook. No complaints will be back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lauren H.: The American Reserve is a poorly managed hotel bar with a cool atmosphere disguised as an upscale restaurant.I made birthday dinner reservations here since I assumed it was an elegant place. My husband and I arrived, dressed to the nines, to find an empty restaurant with people in sweatpants and slippers watching ESPN on the bar TVs. Awkward. As the host was seating us, we mentioned to her that it was my birthday. After being seated, our patronizing male server came to the table and asked me, “I heard it’s your birthday, hun?” I’m an adult woman turning 37 — not seven — “hun.”The server then proceeded to tell us that the restaurant was out of spinach dip and okra appetizers. He then asked to see my husband’s menu because he said he didn’t remember all the other items they were out of. He further said they were also out of the salmon entree and had no fish for the market fish entree. I’m a pescatarian, and so I was left with absolutely no entree that I could even eat.We left and went to Lidia’s where they were able to serve everything published on their menu and had a respectful server and delicious food. Five stars to Lidia’s!As we were leaving the American Reserve to go to Lidia's, the host and the hotel front desk staff person tried giving us coupons for other restaurants in the area. They oddly didn’t try to give us a coupon for their own business. The host told us that if we would come back next week, the American Reserve would have a new menu. They can’t even get a grip on their existing menu — why should we expect them to properly handle a new menu?
Luis Sanchez: Great steak! Lots of options for fine dining.Recommended dishes Steak and Fries …More
Meredith Harmon: Gary was an amazing server, blacked chicken with the mac and cheese was delicious, winter mules were perfection
Wendy Darragh: Michael was awesome. Food not great - the steak was like eating at a wedding. Had been cooked earlier and the sides cold. Great atmosphere & drinks though!
Chelsey B: Went to celebrate two friends getting married. The service was okay, had a few large gaps in getting drinks and ordering food. The atmosphere was nice except the background sounds were really loud. I felt like I had to yell at the people I was sitting with to have a conversation. The food was okay. The wine was fantastic. They have a much wider variety of alcohol than they do food. Limited menu and I have food allergies so I could literally only order a grilled cheese sandwich and it was bland. I will not return. I can go elsewhere with more menu items and for a much cheaper price. I literally spent $100 for 3 glasses of wine, a grilled cheese, and a bowl of soup.
Jesus Roth: Amazing food and even better service. Was so impressed by everything about this place!
Alma Aragon: Can't say enough about the quality of the food. Good atmosphere and pleasant staff. Excellent downtown location.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery: what do users think?
Sarah Longnecker: We went for brunch on a Sunday. It was packed but we put our names in online to help with the wait time. Food took about an hour and a half to get delivered but we all loved our meals. I tried the Is habenero pork belly eggs benedict and it was SO good. I ate every bite!Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Habanero Pork Belly Benny Avocado Benny Smashed …More
stephanie flanagan: We had a party of 7. It was an hour wait to be seated. That was expected because it was Father's Day. Once seated it went downhill from there. The server didn't introduce herself, and appeared to be annoyed. I myself was the last to arrive for our party, so when she came past the table we had to stop her so the the children could get refills on their drinks, and I could place my order. I ordered coffee, and the shrimp and grits. She finally brought the coffee. But not the kids refills. I asked for sugar. She brought back a few packs basically through them on the table, and told my Son he should request some simple syrup from the bar. She brought the kids refills and dripped lemonade all over the table, didn't grab the empty glasses. After 20 min. They brought out my son's French toast and under cooked sausage which he ordered well done. He only ate the edges. It took 10 minutes for my daughter to get her shrimp and grits. So the rest of us waited another 20 minutes before they brought out the rest of the food. Not once did our server come explain why. Nor did she ever offer more coffee. My coffee cup was filthy on the inside, so I didn't drink it. Then the adults stepped outside to smoke. All three children where still at the table along with our purses. But our server came running up to me about the bill being paid. I was explaining that my son was coming in to pay, but she instantly went to grab her manager. By this time my son was giving them his card. First of all that made us feel very uncomfortable and racially profiled. I left her a tip, only because I myself am a server. But she didn't deserve it, and I told her how she made us feel. Her response to me was. A lot of people run out on their bill. Smh the food was not bad, but the sevice was absolutely terrible.. My was here from out of town and we wanted a new experience. This was not a great experience at all. I would not recommend to anyone. My family and I won't be back. Not one black employee.. A not for people of color establishment.

L M: Service could use some work. I waited for 17mins to get my check to go. Which with a toddler is difficult. Especially when it’s clear that they weren’t busy. I was my servers only table. She was very kind and I still tipped her 25% but I would have appreciated being out the door sooner because I’m disabled and can’t always be out as long as I’d like to be.Great food and an amazing environment.

Brea: Good experience last time 5/5, but this time we’re missing food, long wait time for food, hard to flag down waitress, average tasting food/small portions. 1.5 hour wait even when getting on wait list with app. Probably need to cut back on volume so that service/quality doesn’t suffer.Food: 3/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Isabel Reutzel: Went the day after a big chiefs and bengals game (unknowingly). The restaurant was extremely busy and full of hungover fans. Yet, the hostess got us seated quickly and while it did take our food awhile to come out the server got our order in quick and frequently updated us where it was in line which was greatly appreciated with the chaos that was simultaneously going on. When we got our order it was absolutely delicious! Had tried this chain years before in another state and remembered it and its greatness. Was worried growing so large so fast it wouldn't be as good anymore but was definitely not the case luckily. If you're in the area definitely try it out... but maybe try to not go after a game day :)
Tara Hall: Not only was this place creatively delicious... the people there.... wow! Every person that worked there was super cool, very hard working and friendly and all while being slammed! And i mean non stop slammed! I think being cool, hard working and friendly was a requirement to get hired there! It definitely tipped the scale for me looking for a new home base. I've definitely been wooed the most by Kansas City to move to... blown away, just blown away by the staff! They all deserve a raise! Oh yeah, the food 🤣 amazing! I got the breakfast tacos which were set off by the salsa the on the side! 💥 That with a nice latte, which i added a drop of my dandyblend and pure cacao, and i was ready for the day!
Ndue Sokoli: My favorite
Jessica: The food was very good. But it took about an hour to receive our food from the kitchen after the waitress submitted our order. It was busy and the kitchen is probably understaffed so allow yourself a bit of extra time.Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

The Homesteader Cafe: what do users think?
Aaron: Interesting place, they are doing some interior changes so it’s a bit odd atmosphere currently. Nearly empty at 10:30 on a Wednesday. Joel Espinoza: Took a chance on this on a Sunday and what a great spot. Food was great. Started with the cinnamon roll and I love that the icing wasn't super sweet. I had the biscuit Benedict and that was so good. The pork belly and poached eggs where cooked perfect and that gravy was amazing. Son loved the sausage and bacon on his farmers plate. Emma was an amazing server and when we go back we will sit with her again. Take advantage of the free parking across the street just make sure you know your plate number.

Vanessa Michel: We came on our Anniversary for brunch. The amtosphere was super cute and inviting. I am a visual person and wished the menu had pictures. So I came here to see what others ordered. My husband chose the burrito and biscuits and gravy. I chose the French toast as sausage. Over all the food was ok. Nothing I'd rave about. Sausage was very different tasted much like a burger patty.
Tom Shoemaker: The good: service and drinks. I had a bloody Mary, husband had mimosa and both were excellent. The bad: food was pretty mediocre and substitutions are questionably charged. They have a 13 dollar chicken Caesar salad that I asked to have the chicken subbed for shrimp. They charged me an additional $7 add on for the shrimp.
Wendy: Food is really exceptional! Not a bad dish to be had!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Java Moss: The food was to die for and VERY affordable for how good it is! We came from out of town and took a gamble on where to have breakfast and it was beyond incredible. There’s a great selection so no matter what you’re in the mood for, you’ll be happy here. The staff is also wonderful! Our waitress did an amazing job and she was very sweet. Everyone I see is smiling and it makes for a very inviting atmosphere.Parking: Spots open right in front of the cafe.

Ericka Porter: Made a reservation for a bday brunch on a Saturday and the experience was great. Our server was nice and the food was good. I tried the peach chipotle wings were lacking flavor, the sauce could have been so much better! The mimosas were good & I appreciated them bringing the champagne & orange juice separately. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and I loved the sweet potato fries. I did ask for sweet potato fries but they brought out red potatoes, the swap out was easy. Also, parking across the street is free so that was a bonus!

Candace Dealy: The cafe was super cute and parking was not an issue. The Fall pig was a different take on a grilled cheese. The nice crunch from the thin sliced apple complimented the earthy sandwich. The bacon was thick and delicious as well. They even let me substitute some delicious fried greed tomatoes for the salad. So glad we stopped in to fulfill our brunch time hunger!!
Ashley Martins: THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I can absolutely recommend. Try getting yourself on their waitlist online just in case because sometimes it’s a long wait. But the food was amazing and you got a lot of it for what you pay for. Definitely worth a trip. The staff is so kind and go out of their way to accommodate. Was one of my favorite places we ate at!

Roy: Great place, good, open atmosphere and good people, excellent service, and awesome menu. We breakfast here regularly and recently stopped in for dinner. First time, so I can only speak to the Cajun Chicken Pasta, and the carrot cake for dessert--both were excellent. Highly recommend!
Brian Kucks: I ate breakfast with my family and asked the waiter to add the bill for a group of volleyball players to my bill who were also eating breakfast at the same time. They added their bill to ours and we paid and I asked to remain anonymous and we left. My daughter was in that group and we found out later that they had to pay for their meals even though I had already paid for both tables. I tried calling their phone number but only got a voicemail to which I left my name and number and have yet to receive a call back. Hopefully it was an oversight but the waiter even asked me if I knew the people at the table and made a big deal about it. Not good business.Update:I was contacted by Meagan (I am assuming the owner) the next day after leaving the review and she apologized for the oversight and gave me a full refund for both my families breakfast and the table of girls that I paid for. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
