Prospero's Books: what do users think?
L: An absolutely adorable bookstore. I've gone multiple times and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a wide selection of books, I definitely recommend going.
Max Taylor: Awesome book shop with a vintage flair. Owner is super friendly. Wife traded a whole bunch of her already read books and picked up some new ones. Nice to see places like this still exist.
ana rivera: Super cool place to visit. 3 floors full of all kind of books, I love the basement floor, they have solace for you to sit and enjoy a book. Cool decorations that accent the place. Third floor have has a nice view. And also has a psychics that reads your hand if you are into those things. Overall super cool place.
Justin Stawarz: This is the best book store there is. Three stories of floor to ceiling books. You never know what you'll find and it changes every day. They give great rates on trade ins and the owners are very knowledgeable and friendly. They're a KC institution, heavily invested in their community. You're not likely to find book sellers like this anywhere else.
Ana O.: Amazing 3-story boom store! I was overwhelmed with so many books! I loved all the messages written and the creaks made from ppl walking on the main floor. Good priced books.
David Goode: It's a fun book shop experience.
Kelsey DeHart: Wonderful store and very cool to look through but the children’s section left much to be desired.
Daniel Langston (DaOneEyedBear): Really cheap prices, they sell & trade, also have $1 paperbacks outside the place, not bad. Good place to come and chill/read as well. Three floors of used books, comics, CDS, and movies!
REDPILL ALPHA: Great places for books
A. Williams: I love going here! Plenty of little nooks to sit and check out their books. If you can't find something, just ask! The staff is super friendly.
Elizabeth Herrman: Possibly the best and most enjoyable book store I have ever been to. The art is reason enough to go anytime!
c: Was a cool book store definitely would stop and give yourself time to look around
Melody Mccully: Let it take you into a whole world of wonder
Melissa Klaassen: Always an adventure to visit this bookstore.
Mg 0: Go here. They even have books in French (top storey).

Steven Haynes: Great place nice people
Mitch Ayers: 39th street staple.
Corrigan Drews: Amazing spot to wander and find a Book or sit and read. Go and explore.
Halev Idiomas: Lovely little bookstore. Found lots of interesting and out of print books. Ended up spending about 60 bucks and walked out with five books and a 9 dollar VHS. Pricing on the VHS was a bit extreme, but all in all a great visit.Downstairs was fantastic; I'll be back the next time I'm in the area to spend more!
Dovie Penn: My favorite book store.

Willa's Books and Vinyl: what do users think?
Frank Scott: If you live and love history, books and music lp's, this is the place to be. You will love it.
Tommy Verstraete: Small, intimate bookstore with a cool environment and a conscientious owner. 🙂When we walked in they turned on some music for us while we browsed and were ready to answer any questions we had about the books.I was impressed by being surrounded by all the history. There was a roomful of books old and new and an entire room devoted to old records and jazz memorabilia. Will definitely be coming back for more purchases. I picked out three books but had to choose one.
D. Franklin: What a great time we had in the Lord! Willa's book store in KCMO a must visit. You'll find a lot of one- of-a-kind materials. Be prepared to explore history....all history but it was the Black history content that stole the show for me. I can't wait to go back. Thanks again, to Willa's book store for hosting my cousin and featured author Mrs. Deborah Fleming 1st book signing event. It's was an awesome experience and Ms. Willa and her family are a beautiful group of blessed women ❤️This is a five star bookstore 🌟Let support our "Black" owned bookstores.
R L: Great selection of hard to find African American artists on vinyl and 78's. In addition, great conversation with a knowledgeable lady. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will definitely return.
Tucker Porter: Lovely bookstore with a nice selection of used vinyl.
Matthew Moore: Wiila is a kind soul offering books unavailable anywhere else. I'm trying to get there again today!
Aaron Erlendsson: Willa and her store are an absolute gem - her collection spans decades of out of print books, and I didn't even get around to digging through the vast vinyl archive! For book and vinyl lovers you could spends days pouring over the lovingly curated selection of works - my favorite bookshop in KC.
Phillip McCann (Phil): Fantastic little black owned book store. The owner is very very nice.
Evan Smith: Alot of hidden gems an rare finds but it's pricey too though. One of the best african american book selections in the city.
Nathan Williams: What a great hidden gem. I thought I would pop in for a quick peek and 2.5 hours later I was totally consumed. Everything from antique classics to children's books. Willa had her jazz music playing and everything was wonderful.
Marion Williams: Always something eye catching
Nell Hull: The selection at Willa’s is incredibly well hand picked. The records are in perfect shape and the books are very fairly priced. You can find topics from the civil rights movement and current political activism to cookbooks, African history, and religion. There’s always a record playing and new stuff to look at! It’s a store you’ll want to return to time and again.
Russ Cooper: Willa had the book I was after, shipped same day and I had it two days later. Great buying experience...highly recommend! Hope to stop by personally on my next trip to KC.
Ben Schnelle: Willa has an amazing selection of records and books, plus she’s really helpful, kind, and offers great deals too
Melanie Marshall: This bookstore is a rarity! You will find all kinds of books and vinyl records! Lots of rare and collectible items ! A must see!
darth vadar skywalker: Very polite and helpful

Wise Blood Booksellers: what do users think?
Marc Gregory: Stopped in for the record selection. It's a great selection that you can spend all day digging through. Plus they have books which is another great hobby of mine.
Sara Mango: We know what cheating looks like.LongoChris Young.Marislucia Battiglania.Thanks.See you next year.Kill my fetus.- Mark/Gino MAUSA.
Loren T. Walker: Best selection in the city.
SevanM83: a lot of stuff but not very organized
Christine Bofenkamp: Fresh vibe to books. I love shopping more at random than by author. Also, great AC on a melt your face off hot day. 🔥
Andi Kahclamat: A neat shop with antisocial service. I found several books to buy. The clerk forbade us from petting the dog wandering around the shop saying she's grossed out by the idea of all the customer germs on the dog. The dog wanted to be petted and was friendly, and we were scolded for allowing the dog to touch a person when the dog leaned against my friend.
Jordan Swartz: A great book store with a wide selection of new & used books. It was hard to leave with only 2 books. Staff was friendly & helpful. They also have great shirts
Alejandra González: You can spend hours here if you like records. Huge amount of them
Spencer Lewis: I ordered on line
Robert Foreman: Great staff, great books.
Shanee “Lady Savage Red” Martin: Friendly service while attempting to locate books.
Amanda Hunt: Very friendly people!
Vincent Giaconia: Cute little bookstore! Wonderful and respectful staff who are willing to have a conversation! Good selection, not enough Stephen King, but there never is...Relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere and a great little spot to spend an afternoon!
Alex Marban: Love place.
Brandy Coleman: This is a unique bookstore. It's like a sanctuary for me!
BurnettDriskill Attorneys: Wiseblood is an excellent resource and a treasure.
Cindy E: Great indie bookstore with nice selection of new and used books. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Muriel Fogarty: Really lovely spot! So friendly, has a really inviting environment, and lots of great books in an organized, easy-to-browse layout.
Peter Mishler: Beautiful store, kind people, welcoming atmosphere--found a title I didn't know I wanted until I saw it, and I was really pleased to see it there. Thank you--
Dan J. Murtaugh: I stumbled upon Wise Blood Booksellers by accident while on my way to the Wesport Post Office. Any bookstore acts as a virtual magnet for me, a place where I can spend hours browsing and discovering new reads. I was really astonished by the selection of books--used and new--offered at Wise Blood, and ably curated by Dylan. As I don't often get to discuss books, I'm afraid I bent Dylan's ear completely out of shape, but he was quite patient, had a lot to offer in the way of recommendations, was extremely well-read, and was very open to suggestions for enhancing an already very fine assortment of books. The store is comfortable and easily navigable. There were a few interesting surprises, such as LPs residing among books, and tiny book-cover match boxes at the checkout counter which added to the uniqueness of my experience. This is one of the best bookstores I've visited in quite awhile, and suggest that any book lover, reader, or even vaguely-interested shopper who enters this store will be amply rewarded.
Micah Sievenpiper: Surprisingly good selection for such a small footprint, and the staff is more than willing to help you find what you're looking for, even if it's not in stock. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a great local bookstore.

Kayla Biggs: Always a great selection of any topic you can think of. Friendly staff. Clean and safe environment. Well trained fur babies welcome.
Ryan Kulke: Great staff and selection.
Rhonda McCray: I thought the bookstore was pretty organized; however, diversity of reading material is encouraged. Other than a very small urban section they have very few Black authors, used or new. The staff was friendly, however, the atmosphere feels like a period of the past.
Stacy Orefice: My favorite place to buy books
Tanner Marston: This place is an adventure. Any book imaginable it seems. Board games, crafts, stuffed animals of the unique variety. Even a hot selection of video games. Honestly this was a great experience. Hey do you remember that amazing book smell. Yea. Go visit and get a book for once. Reading makes you smarter fools. No one reads anything aside from when your scrolling. Get a book!!!

Renée Blanche: I was reminded of a time before computers and the internet. It was a visual adventure of a time too long ago for me which is why my plan is to help keep the shelves stocked with my household overages that make Half Price Books a fun space to peruse. Plus the staff was professional and friendly. It was a great experience.
Sarah Meyer: Always clean and well stocked with friendly staff
Michael Lomax: Great Place To Be,Great Staff, Understanding, Hanging Out On My Internet 😊 Building Positive Relations oF Good Communication.

Garrett Keaton: One of my favorite places to go.
Benno Landfair: Always clean and organized.
JHARRIS: I was shopping online for books and got the idea to check locally for used books. I knew of this place but never checked it out. I'm glad I did. I found the books I was looking for and they were in new condition. If I had ordered online I would have paid 3 times as much as I'd paid at this store. I'm making this my go-to store for books.

Rainy Day Books: what do users think?
Paige Crosswhite: Best SCI FI recs!!
Gale Burrus: Wonderful selections and very helpful staff.
Cole Ehmke: Helpful staff. A nice local bookstore.
Bryce Baker: Cute book store.
kyndra Light: Amazing atmosphere, very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I will definitely be back! I also love that they have a way to buy/read books online and still support their shop, same with audiobooks.. which is a really cool way to support local! I snagged a book and they encouraged me to check out the local coffee shop as well which I just love seeing businesses support other businesses!
Wil Q: The book stoer had super kind staff, that was always looking to know their customers by name. The staff were very insightful on new book releases and upcoming info on new book series. Definetly a great local small business to support.
Brandy Crabill: We stumbled on this while headed to lunch while passing through and I am so happy we stopped. Every staff member was kind and each had great recommendations.
Kathryn Adams: Wonderful, friendly service and a great book selection!
Ethan Dunn: Online ordering is great! I feel good shopping here knowing I’m supporting local.
vicky werner: Cute book shop. Shop local!
Bill Kerns: The store has an outstanding variety of books to select. I can never go in there quickly to decide on what book to purchase. Also, they have a very kind and helpful staff.
Savannah Greenwood: This is the kind of bookstore you want to spend your Saturday afternoons in. There are lots of great books to check out from diverse genres.
Elizabeth Hopkins: Thank you for creating a customer experience that is exceptional. I called today to see if a book was in stock; a friendly voice answered and they had the book (which isn't always on the shelves in.... Midwestern.... bookstores - this is not a Jerry B Jenkins/Tim LaHaye-type place, thank goodness)! Super helpful and kindness to boot. We're so lucky to have this bookstore in our area!
Nancy Kollhoff: Great local bookstore with very helpful staff
Sandy Briggs: Great staff! Great books! Great fun!
Sarah LeGear: Great customer service and wonderful place to shop.
Ruth J. Heflin: A cozy, inviting space with attentive clerks. A great place to buy books.
Marianne Kaminski: I decided to stop in Rainy Day Books one day after driving by on my way home from work almost everyday. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly employee asking if I needed help finding anything to which I declined, as I was just browsing. Five minutes later I was asked by a different employee if I needed help looking for anything. I declined yet again. Another ten minutes goes by when I am approached for a third time. I really doubt customers enjoy being harped on to this extent. If I decline help twice, then I don’t need to be asked a third time.Despite all the unnecessary inquiries, I had gathered a stack of potential reads when I was approached by a woman claiming to be the store manager asked if I was finding everything okay. I later heard this “store manager” speaking harshly to one of the employees. It was uncomfortable and embarrassing to witness. I decided this wasn’t a business worth giving my money to and left without buying anything.I am leaving two stars because the employees who did greet me were very kind and professional unlike their higher-up.
Calista Martin: I need to quit my job so I can read more. Every book looks good.
Chad Mestel: My local indie bookstore and they're great. We've ordered many books from them and never had any problems.
Taryn Parker: I went to Rainy Day Books for the first time, and I can’t recommend it enough. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and recommended so many good books to me, I couldn’t choose which book to pick up first. I’m excited to have found a local independent bookstore to call my own!

Shell Smith: The owner was nice but prices were high.

Steel's Used Books: what do users think?
Deb: This book store is the most wonderful book store that I have ever had the privilege to visit. From the moment you enter there is a bit of nostalgia. If I had a bed in the middle of it and a small kitchenette....I would never ever leave. I will definitely return. For the reviewers that spoke negatively about how the books were positioned, u don't love books enough because if u did u would recognize that it is a wonderful experience and it's obvious that the owner really loves books. This was the perfect end to a very awful day. Thank you for that...13 books later...and he discounted the books that I purchased. It was an incredible experience. I will be back, especially on really rotten days when I need a pick-me-up.
Ryan Hood: Truly top-notch little bookstore, filled with all sorts of books. The selection and organization get better all the time. And there are some amazing hidden gems.
Gary Roberts: An amazing place
Lindsey Summers: I just loved this bookstore! Great Buddhist selection and great service!
Ancestor Explorer: This was a great little bookstore. Books from the ceiling to the floor. There are a lot of genres and much to choose from. The books were not all priced, and there were several out of place and still in boxes on the floor. I found a few books I liked that were reasonably priced. But there were several that were overpriced, and that left me a little sour. Overall, it was a good experience, but the store needs to be organized better, shelves labeled, and proces clearly marked.
William Craig: Great place, awesome selection and reasonable prices. Will definitely be a regular customer
Paige Saultz: Legit.
Paige Odell: Pretty ligit.
Regan Baker: Just what you want in a used book store. Lots of clutter and chaos - and also lots of great books. Perfect used bookstore vibe
Jess Howell: I love this store! Highly recommend. Hidden gem 📚
Jacob Patterson: What a wonder. Stacks of books hiding all kinds of surprises.
Jordan Nisly: Excellent used bookstore, lots of gems here , it is fun hunting through the stock. And the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. If you love books, take a look!
Jennifer Chambers: I love this place. He has a ton of books.
Dennis Myers: A great bookstore and a must visit! The proprietor is a nice guy, knowledgeable and helpful!
Nancy Villines: If they don't have a book, they do all they can to find it. I could easily look for hours. But for the time.
Cindy Graves: The owner really knows his books! He was very helpful.
Jeff Hunter: Such a find! It's a used book store, but. He has quite the collection! Found some excellent train books as well as old scify.
N B: If you're a bibliophile, you will LOVE this place. First time going here, it may take you an extra second or two to find the door; Its kind of hidden. Already fun! When you get inside, you will see books EVERYWHERE... Its so amazing! For the most part, the books are categorized. But there are also tons of books just stacked wherever there is room to spare. This place definitely has a lot of great books. Then you get to the last room before you've come full-circle.This room has REALLY old books in it. 1700s at least. Its just neat even being in there. The whole place is just exactly how you'd imagine a fun, cozy old bookstore would be, cobwebs and dust included. If you're more of a barnes and noble book store shopper, this one may not be for you. The prices here are comparable to what you'd find on Ebay, maybe a little less. If you love treasure hunting and books, this will become your new favorite shop in Kansas City!
Yeshua Kennedy: The owner was friendly and helpful and the prices were very fair. We bought ten or so books today. 👍
Ted Rodriguez: Excellent service! They can find any movie or book you want and order it for you! There prices are excellent 👍👌!
Lost_Umbrella: It's really cool if you've got an hour or two to kill!! They've got so many different kinds of books and it's just super fun to explore :)

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?
Larry Nelson: Couldn’t find any assistance. I bought 2 books and when I requested a sack, I was told that they give sacks for customers who purchase 3 books or more. Overall, very poor customer service.
H Summer: Poor customer service and didn't have what i was looking for..ended up disappointed about the drive too for nothing.. And This IS WHY WE AMAZON!
Daniel Green: I love the kids games area in this store, great to be able to walk through a store and look at things for real instead of scroll through Amazon on a screen
Steve Wilson: I'm glad to still have this option. Book stores seem to be disappearing
Crazy Droid: Very sad customer service, this store apparently does not care for their sales. Rude employees who kick you out as soon as it hits 9 pm and don’t even want you to buy anything from them just cuz they are closed. Item has two different tags with two different prices which is ridicules and employee rude about it. First and LAST time I visited this store.
Steve P: A wonderful location and options to choose from.
Katie Moore: I love a good bookstore! Not enough of them left. I try to stop by whenever I can and pick up books for my family.
Bill H: Couldn't find anyone to ask questions. No one working upstairs in the kids section. Had to find someone to take our money at the main register. Very poor customer service
James Roberts: Great place to buy, browse, read and drink coffee.
Jeff Templeton: Very helpful ay checkout but disappointed in the cafe everything i asked for they were out of.
De W: The store always looks nice and staff are always friendly. Almost everything is pretty expensive, but they usually have some good sales. We found some items at 50% off and or more.
Deborah Peek: Did not purchase the four items. No register opened at rear entrance by handicap parking...no cut out ramp at that entrance either......sad
Samantha Spicer: My favorite place to be!!!
Joey Donut: Barnes and Noble is a well-known bookstore chain that has been around for decades. As someone who is an avid reader, I have visited many Barnes and Noble stores over the years. While I have always found the staff to be incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, I have to say that their romance selection is lacking when it comes to heat. The staff at Barnes and Noble are always willing to offer recommendations and help customers find the perfect book for their needs. They are knowledgeable about the latest releases and can often offer insights and recommendations that you won't find anywhere else. However, when it comes to their romance section, I have found that the selection is lacking in steamy and passionate reads. While Barnes and Noble has a large selection of romance novels, I have found that many of them are more on the sweet and gentle side. While these books can be enjoyable in their own right, sometimes you just want a book that will make your heart race and your palms sweat. Unfortunately, the selection at Barnes and Noble often lacks these more intense and steamy reads. It's not that Barnes and Noble doesn't have any romance novels that are passionate and steamy - they certainly do. However, I have found that the selection is often limited and not as diverse as I would like. There are certainly some great books to be found in the romance section, but if you're looking for something with a little more heat, you may need to look elsewhere. That being said, there are still many reasons to visit Barnes and Noble. In addition to their knowledgeable staff, they have a wide selection of books in a variety of genres. Whether you're looking for the latest bestseller or an obscure indie title, you're sure to find something that interests you at Barnes and Noble.Additionally, Barnes and Noble often hosts author events and book signings, which can be a great way to meet your favorite writers and get a personalized copy of their latest book. These events are often well-attended and can be a great opportunity to connect with other readers in your community. In conclusion, while Barnes and Noble is a great place to shop for books in general, their romance selection does lack the heat that many readers are looking for. While there are certainly some passionate and steamy reads to be found, the selection is often limited and not as diverse as one would hope. However, the knowledgeable staff and wide selection of books in other genres make Barnes and Noble a great destination for book lovers.
Andre: Great selection
Amela Parks: Awesome place.
Birgit Post: So happy to visit Barnes and Noble in Zona Rosa. Great choices, welcoming place, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
CrowsMob: The staff that deals with the books are nice, with a few exceptions. The Starbucks people however are just rude. There was a line that was standing around for 7 minutes, when I saw that I asked a staff member if the Starbucks was closed. She literally sighed out loud and slowly walked over behind the counter. Then while taking orders she was very rude and messed up 2 drinks in a row. After that I decided not to get the Starbucks and just finish my shopping.
Randall Paul: We were looking for young children's books and a sales associate was VERY helpful and courteous. Found a great selection and were very pleased. Thank you so much!
Donald Wall: Wonderful coffees and every kind of book, magazine you could want.
