Betsy Mattison: Can’t believe I’ve lived in this city my whole life and just now tried Eddie V’s. You can tell by the abundance of staff that they take their business very seriously. From valet to our waitress, everything was excellent. Lobster tacos, crab cake, patron margarita and king crab legs were all top notch. I hate we don’t remember our waitresses name because she was lovely and deserves recognition for her great service. We will be back soon, thanks for making our anniversary extra special!
Princesses of the 417 Company: Beautiful inviting atmosphere, very upscale but not too stiff. Erica was our phenomenal waiter, but all of the staff was efficient and kind/courteous. The food and dessert was perfect. My 5 year old remarked that the restaurant was so fancy and he wished he was wearing and bowtie. Erica emerged moments later with her own bowtie from her uniform and put it on him. It made him feel so special. The whole experience was over the top and wonderful, our bellies and hearts are full!

Tom Dougherty: Super professional staff all around. The Front of house got us checked in and appeared to move everyone through quite efficiently. Our server Steven went the extra mile to take care of us. My wife got queasy about the time we arrived, and he saved the experience for us. I think 5s all around are appropriate. Tuna was great, scallops were solid. Drinks were on point (with some of Steven's advice/ executive decision making)

We enjoyed ourselves and I’m glad we tried it, but without the gift card I would have disappointed that we spent so much for the quality of our entrees. Even with the gift card it was a little pricey. The apps and dessert were our favorite parts, so I think it might be better for lunch or happy hour. Here is my review of each item-Service and atmosphere- 10/10. Our waiter was great and it was really cool to look out the windows and see the plaza at night. The ceiling was also beautiful.Raspberry mule- 8/10 the flavor was really good but tasted a little watery and there didn’t seem to be much alcoholLavender haze- 5/10 honestly it was ordered because of the Taylor Swift song but it had a very weird aftertaste. I don’t think the lavender flavor and alcohol mixed well. Drinkable but didn’t order a second.Shrimp kisses- 10/10 amazing. Perfect amount of chili kick, sweetness, and saltiness. Hot and delicious. Not only was it fun to break the bag, it was delicious to eat!

Royce Shields: Upon arrival the place was really nice. Once seated we placed our orders. We waited about 45 mins before getting the two appetizers that were ordered. After about another 20 mins or so the waitress approached the table and informed us that she placed the order incorrectly(Unfortunately she didn’t provide us a name so can’t exactly who she was) but when asked about how long it would be before the food would come, she stated “well you ordered 3 steaks, rolled her eyes and walked off”(mind you all the steaks were 6oz) she also brought me a child’s orange juice and when she returned for refills I asked for more juice and she stated “well they said they ran out of juice”, as if that’s my fault. She could have said this and I could have ordered something else! We then we asked for a manager and asked the same about time frame on receiving food, because now we’ve waited over an hour, and with no response. He then stated “you did order steaks and your orders all needed extra accommodations, but not going to go back and forth with you we are working on getting it out to you, it’s only been placed 20 mins ago and walked off”…I am a manager myself and never would treat guest in this manner we then as a party of 9 decided to leave. It was very clear that other tables were a priority over others, but even as nice as the place displayed its self to be, we will not return to this location. There were guest that arrived after us and who spoke to us outside of the restaurant as they waited for the rest of their party, they got in received food and was leaving within the time of us asking about receiving our order. Ruined the birthday girls day for sure, currently looking for another place to eat. Worst visit ever!!!!
Lovey Carvin: My family of (9) went here for brunch and celebrating a birthday, while we arrived @ 1130 for our reservation was promptly seated at 1139(no problem) however once seated the sever(which I don’t recall her name) took almost 20mins to greet us! Took our drink orders took a while returning with drinks, promptly after we placed our food order roughly 12:15, waited patiently server returned to our table @ 12:40 stating it was a mishaps between her putting in the order & the kitchen staff! Never apologized for the mess up! I then approached the manager adv him of the issue.He begin to tell me we ordered steaks and etc, mindful of that however the fact the serve & manager both responded w/attitude’s & unprofessional mannerUNACCEPTABLE, clear to see In the environment was prioritized by color. A family bigger then our party arrived and was seated same time as our party & was leaving and served when we decided to leave the establishment.Sadden first time here and will never return

Hannah Taylor: We met some family here for brunch a few weeks back and it was really disappointing. I had been looking forward to it for a very long time and heard great things. Our service was okay and the place was beautiful but there was long periods in between being checked on and the food was extremely underwhelming. I got the diablo and it was okay but wasn't really spicy nor had a lot of flavor and my boyfriend's french toast looked unappetizing. Definitely not worth the $70+ I spent on the two of us... Maybe we should have come for dinner instead.

The deviled eggs were enormous, and the filling was creamy and not overly mustardy as some deviled eggs can be. The wedge salad was fine, though somewhat quotidian and lacked sufficient dressing. There is a reason that at almost every single table in the restaurant someone ordered the fried chicken. If you grew up eating delicious fried chicken made by someone who knew how to make delicious fried chicken, you will not be disappointed. This is among the best friend chicken I've had in Kansas City. Instead of dessert, I opted for the This Is Bananas cocktail, which is sublime. The staff was wonderful: attentive without being overbearing and extremely knowledgeable about the menu.

Alexa Savka: We came here to celebrate Father’s Day and my son’s 4th birthday. There was no wait, our server greeted us right away, and everything was amazing. The atmosphere was perfect, my husband got to watch the US Open and enjoy a cold beer while I had a lavender martini. The Poké Nachos are to die for. I highly recommend their Vampire Tacos and a cup of Tomato Bisque. It’s velvety and delicious and hits the spot every time. The tacos have amazing texture and flavor. My husband said his Korean BBQ Philly was incredibly good. Definitely get truffle fries when you go too. Overall it was an excellent experience and we will be back again and again. I haven’t had any issues ever when going here and it’s never overly busy.

Julianne Rabal: This was my first visit to any Capital Grille location. I was celebrating a college graduation with high hopes of having a great experience with my family. Unfortunately that was not the case. We had to wait 45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The food was decent, however our server was extremely rude and had an awful attitude the entire evening really spoiling our night. Brett would take our plates and drinks without asking if we were not finished - even when there were still a large sip left. He did not really acknowledge our special occasion. We were expecting much better service for spending $$$$.

Just Me: Edit 6-18-2023When we arrived today we were greeted by the unhappiest host I have ever encountered. While there were many tables open, servers standing around, two people behind the bar jacking around, and the dark haired girl with glasses that we presumed was the manager jacking around with them, we were told by Ms Happy that we couldn’t be seated because they had no help!! We waited for at least ten minutes, while the employees were staring at us and joking and talking amongst themselves. Meanwhile the hostess was literally organizing crayons. Yes crayons. This was at 3:30 today, there were only about 10 diners in the entire restaurant. When we were seated we waited another ten minutes for the server to even come to our table only to be advised of all the things that they were out of and for her to question us about if we were sure we wanted the drinks that we ordered as if she had better ideas. Then she asked us if we had ever even been there before. We have been to this restaurant and least 30 times and have spent thousands of dollars eating here. We finally just told Ms Happy Hostess to tell our waitress to cancel our drinks and left. As I have said in previous reviews the happy hour used to be the best, however it has had 65 percent of the original items removed from the happy hour menu and replaced with nothing. I have also said that the quality of the service has been in a steady decline. Today was atrocious.I am convinced that you should actually just shut your doors and save the company moneyBest Happy Hour menu in my opinion. Still love the food though I will say the service has gone down hill considerably since it opened a few years back.
Wendy Lythgoe: Been here several times. The happy hour is great. Brunch was a big let down though. Not sure why they are serving produce that is past it's prime. At Father's Day brunch we started with the fruit is good for you plate and the smoked tuna dip. The grapefruit and blueberries were sad. The blueberries were mushy and the sliced grapefruit looked shriveled and like it sat around way too long. The snowpeas that came with the tuna dip were limp, shriveled, and not crisp at all. The celery was not fresh and the cut ends were dried out and off color. The carrot, red bell pepper, and radish were ok though. It's just so disappointing and not consistent. How can I trust the oysters and other seafood to be fresh when the produce is not? My husband liked his fish sandwich and my vegetable omelette was good. Maybe today was an off day? It's usually very good.

James McGilley: The large oysters weren't large at all. The Steak Tartar had absolutely Zero Flavor, my grilled salmon was like a hockey puck. The only amazing tasting thing I ate was the Fried Calamari with the dipping sauce. My girlfriend paid the bill that was over $120.00, not including Tip. I would give it another try but expect much better attention to detail and not over cooked salmon.
T K: Great experience and service from staff and management, especially for someone who has a shellfish allergy. The manager made sure that the kitchen prepared my sandwich in a separate pan, and offered another option outside of fries due to it being cooked in the same oil as the shrimp. My burger was phenomenal and so was the wedge salad. The brûlée key lime pie is AMAZING along with the Cucumber Lemon Press!!
