Kenneth Haas: Superb! My grandson's guitar skills have significantly improved since he started taking lessons with Mr. Joe from Taylor Robinson Lessons. Joe is a knowledgeable and supportive instructor who always encourages my grandson to try new things.
Mitch Shawn: I booked a voice lesson 2 weeks ahead of time and one week before the lesson the company cancelled my lesson and failed to reschedule. I did recieve a full refund but i would have preferred that the company fullfill the date and time originally booked
Yer Pichardo: He is a wonderful teacher and friend.
Jude Strawser: In her lessons there was a good balance of vocalize to warm up my voice and time for learned new repertoire.

Brookside Guitars: what do users think?
Marlon Anderson: Hours on website show open at 12pm on Fridays, google shows open 1pm. Waited until 130pm nobody showed up or answered phone. Drove from the other side of town on a long lunch break after this place was recommended by a friend.
Troy Cummings: Great lesson studio, nice selection of fine guitars, wonderful owner. My kid takes jazz lessons here. And we’ve bought a wonderful amp here. 5 stars.
Eduardo T: Went there to buy strings but they close 10 minutes earlier I EO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!!!
Beth Kapp: My daughter loves piano lessons with Miss Alyssa and has learned a lot!
Randy Hicks: Not nice to drive to a location that shows to be open on google, only to arrive and find a sign in the window that says appts only.
Jake Dunz: Shopping is by appointment only!Drove up here a couple hours before close, sign on the door informed me that shopping is only by appointment due to covid and no one answered the phone. Posting for visibility.
Jack Rouse: Great place. Worked with the owner Ryan Wurtz for several years before going to college. I learned more than I ever could have imagined. They also have a wealth of instruments and equipment available.
Juliet Hawley: I’ve been taking violin lessons with Adam for over a year- Adam is an expert musically- he has a gift for guiding his students in areas of their strengths; and at the same time challenging them to be strong in the fundamentals. Great teacher, great experience- and speaking from the perspective of an Adult learner, finding the right studio and the right teacher has made all the difference.
Alan Vila: I'm and adult player, been taking guitar lesson for over a year with Ian, and it's been great. Learned and keep learning tons.
MosesTheXiled1: Ben's an awesome guy. Only met him once and I feel like I've always known him. We know some of the same local musicians.
Mike A: Ryan is a master teacher, my son’s progress and enjoyment of playing is a testament to his instruction.
Whitney Dunn: I’ve been taking lessons at Brookside Guitars with Sophia for over a year now and this place is phenomenal. I have learned so much in my lessons and feel like they are really customized to my personal goals with guitar. Sophia is an amazing instructor and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn a new musical instrument or improve their current skill set. While I’ve only taken lessons with Sophia, I’ve also met some of the other instructors and they have all been so nice and welcoming. Ryan has been great in helping me fix and improve my guitar. These lessons are amazing and I highly recommend Brookside Guitars.
Klayton Simmons: I’ve been taking lessons from Ryan for a year now, and I am slowly but surely becoming a master guitar player! 😀I had zero guitar playing experience before coming to BKS Guitars.Ryan’s teaching style is perfect for beginners because of his ability to communicate the fundamentals while offering encouragement to improve, which is critical at the beginning stages. He is a talented musician and teacher. I wish I would have started much much sooner!
james riehl: Been in a few times now and have experienced nothing but a wealth of knowledge from kind people. Will be back often.
Hammond Family: Our daughter takes guitar lessons with Sophia. She’s been great. Knowledgeable and patient and our daughter has learned a lot from her. Very helpful and friendly staff. Much more the environment that appeals to our teen daughter than her previous place.Although I see students of all ages here.
Grace Parkerson: Fantastic guitar shop with great teachers! I've been taking lessons with Ryan for over a year - lessons are super fun and relaxed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new instrument or instructor
Jared White: Great shop with knowledgeable staff. Ryan is an excellent guitar teacher and lessons are laid back and fun. I also bought a guitar from the shop for a great price - better than online dealers plus the added benefit of knowledgeable advice on what to look for. Highly recommended for lessons or purchase of instruments!
jordan roberts: Amazing place! If I could give it more than five stars I would
Stacy Kearney: My daughter has been taking ukulele lessons with Ryan for 2 1/2 years and he is the perfect teacher for her. His laid-back and encouraging style works well for our family. The shop is inviting and the ukulele we purchased is a great instrument. When there were problems with the supplier sending the incorrect bags, Ryan stayed on top of things until we had the correct one.
Josh Rowland: Ryan is building an amazing guitar store and community in Brookside. The new electric guitars he’s stocking from Reverend and D’Angelico are so cool— great to finally have these in KC. We need strong boutique guitar stores in KC, and BKS is stepping up. I have been taking lessons from Ryan for a while and I appreciate his patience, and his encouragement.
Anthony DeWilde: I’ve been with Ryan at Brookside Guitars for 3+ years. I love taking guitar lessons there. He is very knowledgeable about all kinds of playing styles (from country to rock, soul to jazz). Laid back style and fun to learn. A wonderful guitar shop in the heart of Brookside!

Crazy John Brooks: One of Kansas City's LIVE MUSIC LEGACIES for sure!I have personally relied upon them for SO MUCH over the decades.Top-of-the-line instrumentation, stage equipment, live show back-line, hard-to-find components, stage hand and tutor referrals, home audio config. and a host of other oddities! They are very well staffed with kind knowledgeable professionals.Hats off to Big Dude's for Keepin' it Real here in KC for so many years! One of the coolest indoor retail locations around, also. I called Big Dude's and it went clear off the charts silliness after Larry told me about the 50th anniversary DW 5000 carbon fiber DK.Um, yes please!Of course we talked shop, and I hollered at the "usual suspects, he also queued me in on some other great additions to my drums and away I went. Incredible! Thanks, Larry. You melted my face off that day. Also, thank you Big Dude's for having cool lighting rental, etc...(we used for a video recently)Top notch as always!👊-Brandon
Jeff Panaka: Came here after some business in the city. They had a nice selection of bass guitars and bass amps here which was great. They had a PRS Bass which I’ve never seen before. It was great to play. Unfortunately, I didn’t have space in my checkin to fit a bass so I had to settle with a t-shirt. Staff was real friendly too. 5/5

Talked to a couple associates while checking out amps, and was directed to one the was actually perfect for me. Spent more than I planned, but the buy was totally worth it. Amazing products and wonderful customer service.

KC Rock Band & Guitar School of Music: what do users think?
Amber Mainard: My son has been taking drums from Laura Lee Crandall at KC Rock Band & Guitar for a few years and often expresses how grateful he is to have such a positive learning environment and such an encouraging, talented teacher. We've watched him grow as a musician and as a person. He is a part of the Monday night rock band. Laura Lee, Matt and all of the other teachers provide the skills necessary to excel. I would (and do) highly recommend KC Rock Band & Guitar!
Stephanie Kreamer: Our daughter has been taking voice lessons here for over a year now. We have been so thrilled with our choice to attend KC Rock Band and Guitar. They are so professional and understanding. Our daughter has made built great relationships and always enjoys her weekly lessons, but most importantly we are impressed with the development of her voice.
Megan Bannen: We have had an outstanding experience with KC Rockband & Guitar. It's more than just music lessons; I feel like we're part of a community. Can't recommend them highly enough!
Molly Lund: My daughter expressed interest in playing ukulele at age 7 and, not knowing whether it would "stick" or not, I just Googled "Ukulele Kansas City" and came across KC Rock Band and Guitar, which was close to our home. From the first call with Laura Lee to inquire about lessons, I knew this would be a great experience. Laura Lee and her husband, Matt, are the owners and teachers and generally wonderful people. All of the teachers are fantastic - my daughter now takes ukulele and voice lessons - and it is the most fun, least pressure environment you fill find. They encourage children and support them and find common interest in popular music that makes everyone want to practice more! It's not just popular music, though - all of the teachers are very skilled in what they do and are such talented performers themselves. In over 2 years of weekly lessons, my daughter has never once complained about going. She loves it and so do we!
Ryon McKivergan: My son started in Sept. 2015. We enrolled him in one-on-one lessons with Laura Lee, one of the instructors. He had just started playing drums with the school band in August 2015, so had very little experience before starting classes. By December he was not only learning the full drum set, but he was learning to perform songs as well. Over the summer he also joined one of their Rock Bands and enjoys every minute of it! The instructors have been amazing and very patient with the students. They seem to know what each student needs in order for them to succeed in music. I would highly recommend KC Rock band & Guitar for anyone who wants to get started on their musical journey or to advance the musical knowledge they already possess!!
Ashly Hampton: All of the teachers there are great teachers. They are super friendly as well.
Jason St. John: Our son is a student of KC Rock Band and loves it! We love it, too! As parents, we appreciate the professional yet personal approach of Matt, Laura Lee, and their team. They are not just outstanding musicians; they are outstanding instructors! They care about each student and work to teach and inspire each to develop, grow, and stretch to new musical heights. It's fun, challenging, and rewarding!
Deb Fleury: My son has played the saxophone for about a year and just had the opportunity to participate in KC Rock Band & Guitar over the summer for the first time. It was such an awesome and memorable experience for him. He was excited to practice (without being nagged by his mom :)) because he knew if he improved, it would help the sound of the whole band. Matt and LauraLee are great motivators and make the entire experience enjoyable for their students! We will definitely do it again!

Music House School of Music Overland Park: what do users think?
johnnnyy: Matt was awesome!
Angela Gibson: Music House is an amazing place! My daughter takes multiple lessons here with multiple instruments and everyone is so friendly and passionate about music! All of her instructors have been very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend Music House for anyone looking to learn about music.
Kim Dubbert: Music House has great teachers and staff and many opportunities to perform and play music with others. I was having trouble finding a place to take music lessons as an adult student. MH has a great group of adult students and opportunities to perform on a regular basis. I've loved my years at MH!
Katie: Awesome stage for performing. David Cline is the absolute best at everything…from teaching guitar to admining. Music house in OP is so very lucky to have him.
Micaela Widman: My son was a teenager when he started at Music House. He has improved and excelled tremendously with his teacher, Drew. Drew not only taught him piano technique, genre, and theory very well, but he also how to apply it skillfully to the keyboard. I have loved watching and listening to my son turn into an excellent piano player. Thank you to Music House and to Drew!
Jenny Seifert: Positive:Quality
Kevin Suttmoeller: I cannot say enough good about my experience with Music House School of Music. The instructors are excellent. The ability to keep the enthusiasm for learning music for myself and my daughter is a tribute to their professionalism. The opportunity to make music in a group setting has accelerated our musical progress. Thanks for making Tuesday the best night of the week. (Band Practice)
Jenny Cunningham: Positive:ProfessionalismMy son has attended group lessons, private lessons and joined a band since he started his journey at Music House. Over the years, his skills and confidence have grown along with his passion for creating music.
Lisa Coffman: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy son has had outstanding teachers and exceptional instruction at Music House. He has learned so much and he has loved every minute.
Melba Detmer: Our daughter has been attending lessons at Music House since March of 2016. Music House has been a great fit for her. She has received individual private lessons and has worked her way up to joining a MH band. Music House offers an array of services. Not only private or group lessons, but opportunities to attend community classes, workshops, concerts, summer camps, join bands, live performances and more. The administrators, instructors, and staff are second to none. Check it out!
Louisa Vonahnen: My daughter has attended Music House for several years. We love how they help students set and meet goals based on individual needs. All of her teachers have been willing work with her on school pieces and originals during her lessons, and are always open to giving advice on things like instrument purchases, recording, gigs, etc. The performance aspect of Music House has helped my daughter gain confidence and have exposed her to experiences I don't think she would have gotten from many other private lesson teachers.
Kim Rebman: Our daughter, Morgan, has blossomed since beginning drum lessons at Music House. She's has become very confident and has really enjoyed all her teachers. We highly recommend Music House.
Gunawan Yuwono: Highly recommended. It's an amazing place to learn music. They have excellent and very dedicated administrators and teachers. Both my sons started when they were around 7 years old. The older one is now 13 years old and is in the Focus band group as a guitarist, while the younger one is 10 years old and in the Drum Labs and ready to join a band as a drummer. My sons love the Student Showcases and the Grand Showcases where they perform and display their skills in front of families and guests.
Jill Bamber: The Music House instructors have taken our children’s interest and enjoyment for music and have grown it into a passion! It has been so much fun watching their skills grow as they are challenged with harder pieces, more creativity, and new instruments. One of our children has significant special needs and he has been welcomed, challenged, and encouraged through his musical journey as well. The instructors have demonstrated great patience and innovation in finding the best ways for him to participate to the fullest. Thank you, Music House!
Joshua Bowen: Music House has a carefully planned and well run program. I appreciate that they have a curriculum with advancement based on a childs individual progress. Our kids have been in individual lessons at other places for years with various instructors. Those are always dependent on the skill, planning and personality of the instructor. A school wide curriculum reduces that uncertainty. We were nervous about going with group lessons at Music House, instead of one on one, but it worked out great. Our daughter feels she has found `her people`. Our son's playing improved incredibly quickly when he was able to play with others.
Holly Crosby: We have loved music house for our two young musicians! Great instructors, wonderful staff and the teaching structure is accessible to all! Beginning to advanced, they do an amazing job of guiding their students seamlessly from lessons to stage! Highly recommend all locations!
PRAKASH KANTHETI: They are simply amazing!!I've started taking guitar classes here when I had absolutely no knowledge of guitar and it's amazing to see the progress I could make over the past 8 months. All credit to music house!! It's the instructors and management that make this place special, everyone here shares a common love for music and encourage new people starting to learn music. The best part of music house is that they allow students here to perform on stage from the earliest stages of their learning, so stage and showcasing talent in front of an audience is essentially part of learning process for every student here.I'd highly recommend music house to everyone passionate of learning music. You would not just be learning music, you'd be involved with community of passionate musicians. Look no further if you are a young lad interested in music. Just get in there and enroll yourself here if you are old (like I am) and feel like you may be late to start learning music now.
Jacob Murrell: Amazing place to play and learn music! Amazing teachers and managers always willing to work with schedule and anything you need, if you are looking to learn or grow as a musician then this IS the place for you! Highly recommend! I’ve been taking lessons here for awhile now and love very second of it!
Suresh Ramakrishnan: Both my sons go to the Overland Park location. The Admin staff are fabulous in making us feel welcome. The Environment to practice is really good. The teachers are really great in teaching the diff nuances of music to the students and more importantly make the entire music session a great fun. I would not hesitate any further to recommend Music House to any one interested to learn irrespective of what age they are.
Christine Oliver: My son started music lessons at Music House a few years ago. He started without any drum set experience and now we are on drum set number 2 because he has outgrown his first one! He started with just a weekly lesson and now he participates in his weekly lesson and is involved in a rock band and the jazz ensemble. I cannot say enough good things about our experience there. He has grown in leaps and bounds in his percussion skills due not only to the excellent instruction he has received there but also due to the large amounts of time and energy he has put in to practicing and getting ready for his classes and rehearsals because he is so inspired by his teachers. The community classes that are offered on weekends are an amazing bonus available to students and we take advantage of those offerings often. The reach of his Music House instruction has gone beyond their walls as well. My son is a much more successful band student at school and knows that he can always bring in a piece from school or for an audition and get the help he needs during his time there. If you are looking for quality music instruction delivered by dedicated and passionate instructors, then Music House is your place.
Bob Clark: I can't recommend Music House strongly enough. The teachers and staff are second to none. The teachers are outstanding musicians who really care about their students and the music they create. My son has been taking lessons from Josh Johnson (guitar) for 5 years and you will find none better than him. My son and his band have grown tremendously under Josh's tutelage over this time.

Kansas City School of Music: what do users think?
Kelsey Nicholes: Shopped around for piano and voice teachers. This was far and away the best school I have found. Really passionate and excited to teach.
Caden Bradshaw: I have taken lessons for 9 years starting at 6 years old and I’ve learned so much from the teachers there! They are all amazing and great musicians. I wouldn’t play music half as good as I do now if it wasn’t for them.
Mary McGrath: Thank you for offering Musikgarten classes!!! Hannah Lamb is an excellent teacher. She is patient, kind, encouraging and great at redirecting. I will admit I was a tad nervous before the first class, because I am not a musical person, I can't clap on beat. However, after a bit of research and finding out the benefits of these classes I wanted to take my daughter. It is a joy to sing, dance and learn with my daughter in this environment It is also a delight to not only see my daughter's enjoyment of the class, but also to see the children interact during the activities.
James Berry: Great place to learn music if you are serious about drums, violin and piano. The teachers are excellent and highly educated in their field of expertise. I know fist hand. They teach voice and other instruments as well.
DIY Freaks: I really learned a lot here
B Satt: I took piano lessons here for 10 years. The teacher Scott is very knowledgeable and his teaching methods are very personal of all music genres and hands on. He teaches good fundamentals as well as advanced music theory.
Brad Liggett: Great staff and instructors!

Jacob Carolan: They were great let me be to noodle around until I found the guitar I’ve been needing for a while thanks a lot fellas
Hyper Trayne: Love this little shop, In this little town. Owner and staff are knowledgeable and have nice friendly vibes. They are competivly priced and have great products. I've gotten two Ukes and some hardware. All which are well made and sound amazing. Plan on shopping here in the future. Great fit.
Shiloh Humble: Amazing selection of quality instruments.
Maggie Deigh: This place is awesome! I’ve been here several times, and always pleased with the experience. Staff are knowledgeable and I get the impression that it’s by musicians for musicians. Unlike many other music stores (where “don’t touch” is a common policy) they encourage folks to find an instrument that interests them and try it out! I’ve spent hours playing dozens of different instruments, comparing tones and the feels in the hands. Also, the most incredible assortment of ukuleles that I’ve ever found under one roof!!
Maksim Tsikhanovich: Jace was very helpful. Store has a wide variety of guitar and accessories. Very easy to navigate. Great prices and service
Steve Zipp: Great shop! I was given a tour which I really enjoyed. Lots of guitars to see! Mark and Mike are very friendly and informative.
william Babbitt: Mike and Jace are best guitarists and tech in the city alway use Bentleys
VR2Connect: Excellent service!
Chase Fanning: I purchased a Martin guitar here in 2012. Jace the guitar repair man has been incredibly helpful. He has helped me maintain that guitar many times over the last 11 years. The store owners also very kind. If you had any sort of issue with a guitar or you're looking to purchase one, you should definitely consider this store.
Joseph Howell: Man I love this place! If you wanna place to call your guitar home this is it.I've bought two great guitars here and I get all of my work done by Jace. Best in KC!
Brian Rogers: Friendly and nice people
Joseph Nguyen: Cool store and employees. Mike is super knowledgable!
Jim Barnes: Nice shop. Friendly folks. Nice selection of instruments.
Gunner Gabbert: Cool guitars.
Josh Webber: I recently moved away from Parkville, and one of the things I miss most about Parkville is walking in and chatting with the staff at this shop. Before I left, I purchased a Martin from them and couldn't be happier with it. I highly recommend Bentley Guitar Studios to anyone in KC.
Lindee Hopkins: Great guitar store! You can look & try independently or ask lots of questions. My husband shopped there for me, my three adult sons shopped there & now my grandson!
Jim Ready: Excellent customer service and the shop is really cool with a nice selection!
Walter Beeson: Jace always does great work setting up my bass! Go check them out!
Dawn Robinson: Mr. Doug and miss Audrey were awesome.

Comprehensive Guitar Instruction by Larry Crabtree: what do users think?
Epoch: Larry is the best guitar teacher I’ve ever had in my life. He’s the only one that got me to work beyond the plateaus that I’m at and is helping me to learn theory and technique and helps me to understand my guitar and a more in-depth manor that I can understand. He has great communication skills and I understand music theory a lot better because of this man
Clint McCollam: Larry is an amazing banjo expert. He has a knowledge and depth of understanding that only someone who is passionate and well educated in the art can provide. I wish I played the mandolin and bass ukulele so I could fully gain from his experience.
Logan Coffman: I began taking lessons from Larry when I was 10 yrs. old. After a 6 year break from guitar I picked it up again when I was a sophomore in high school. I am now a sophomore in college and I can safely say that through the instruction Larry has given me over the last 4 years I am now not only capable of jamming on just about any type of blues and classic rock style progression, I can also play a significant amount of Jazz guitar as well as Funk and Acoustic Folk. Larry took me from squeaking out Over the Hills and Far Away to being hard on myself for not having enough variation on Santana style Jazz. He has extensive knowledge in every category you can come up with and can imitate the likes of Hendrix, Santana, Page, Beck and Satriani with ease. I could not give a better recommendation to anyone looking for a great guitar instructor.
