Shiona Deliozar: We had our company Christmas party here with a large group of 15 and the setting was perfect for Christmas. The cabins and igloos outside were decorated so festively and the service was great throughout. I really enjoyed their chips and meatballs and their holiday cocktails with all the fun names. The views were really pretty at night with the fire on the deck. Felt cozy and was. The service was great throughout.

Luke Payne: This place used to be great but as of a few moments ago it is one of only two restaurants I've walked out of. We sat for over 30 minutes waiting on appetizers and the only time anyone came to check up was when he thought he was at a different table. We couldn't get a second round of drinks and had to chase him down for the original order. Slwe we're also one of only 3 tables seated in the dining room. So sad to see a place fall apart like this....... Original Review........Really enjoyed this place. Great service. Great food. Fun cocktails. Good view.
Whitney Buchmann: The Flatbread was delicious and the bartender was able to go off of a few ingredients to make us drinks we enjoyed that weren'ton the menu.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Chris Nunn: Spectacular ambience
Tommy G: I really enjoy eating here when I stay at The Fontaine (which is often).
Max Maxwell (Ms Max): 60th Birthday Celebration at The Igloo with close Family and Friends.....Chicken Quesadillas was tender and delicious The Salmon salad was perfection spicy nutmeg tequila drink was interesting.....Our waitress was a Awesome. She was seriously funny......The Birthday Card was very thoughtful and appreciated.....Thanks
Mike Parker: Great steak
Manuel Brockman: This has changed since the pandemic. The menu is now more limited bar small plates and snacks. The cocktails are still sharp but less playful. Most of the space was closed but still offers an intimate atmosphere and nice views of the plaza
Felicia Wallace: It was my Pastor's Pastoral Anniversary. I had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful.
Armita: Amazing place for special occasions. Celebrated my birthday in here wiry a few of my friends. The food was amazing. Each plate was decorated amazingly. The staffs were super friendly.Dine in: Yes …More
Ray Paige: Loved it , cool place, great people and the bartender as well... Will definitely be visiting again
Stephanie Somvong: For $11+ for cocktails I expect them to be served in proper glasses. My husband's dirty martini was served in a PLASTIC rocks glass... even though I saw they had martini glasses....and no we weren't out by the pool.. we were in the upper level on a couch. Also, do not order a spicy margarita. Thank goodness I asked how they are prepared...I guess they ran out of jalapeños so they are using tobacco sauce 🤮... if you don't have the ingredients.... just don't offer it. For an up scale bar you would think they would serve their drinks in actual glasses and not plastic.. even the beer was served in a disposable solo cup.
Lysa White: Beautiful place
Aaron Middle: Excellent food and service. Cozy atmosphere. Waitress Shay was very customer friendly and customer oriented. She was very thoughtful making sure we enjoyed our visit. The Chef brought the food to our table and explained what each dish was that he prepared. The Manager brought the dessert to our table. Manager was distant and somewhat non-communitive compared to most managers we come in contact with. When I asked a question concerning the dessert he wasn't very pleasant as if he was too busy and didn't want to talk at all. There were no other quest. Poor customer service and example for his employees. I will go back due to the waitress great service.
Jennifer Johnson: My boyfriend and I visited this bar on a Saturday night. The whole place was packed and they only had one waitress working. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks and ended up getting frustrated so we’d go get our own drinks from the bar. The service was absolutely unacceptable. Considering how classy this hotel is, I expected a better bar experience. I am very disappointed.
Linda Guthrie: Fontaine is definitely a up scale Hotel. Fromt Desk Receptionist always makes you feel welcomed. Great Location. Great Service.
bryan bornstein: It was a fun night!

Sam K.: I stopped in for Sunday brunch and I’m so happy I did. The hostess welcomed me with a wonderful smile and attitude and sat me at the bar to my liking.I was greeted immediately by the bartender with a fresh water. He was also attentive and polite the entire length of my meal, keeping my water glass filled, eating space clear of used plates and my Bloody Mary requests fulfilled while maintaining other tables in the larger seating area of the bar. They offered three (3) variations of oysters of which I tried all three and was not disappointed. They were fresh and appointed well.I also had the Challah Bread French Toast with sausage and it was delicious! It was served with fresh blueberries, warm maple syrup and sliced thick! The sausages were a welcomed compliment to my meal and in my opinion, ya can’t beat sausage dipped in maple syrup!I would definitely order this again and if this item is any indication of their full menu, I would definitely eat here again if I ever get to visit KC in the future.
Morgan and Taylor Thomas: This place deserves at least 6 stars. Food; great. Wine; perfect. Atmosphere; post Roman Italy meets modern. What earns them the 6th star is the sommelier Lizzie. Her help and personality set our visit apart from any other restaurant we’ve been to. Cannot thank her enough. While this place deserves your business on its own merits…as long as Lizzie is around, we will be regulars
Garrett Kirk: Great experience here with Dalton our server. My wife and I were celebrating our joint birthdays, Dalton was nice and attentive the entire time. The food was great and I was impressed with how fast the kitchen pumped out high quality dishes. That’s hard to do with consistency. My wife enjoyed a Gin and Tonic that was distilled in-house with salmon and red rice. She said it was the best salmon she had ever had. I had a filet with wedge salad, duck fat yukon golds with melted leeks. It was great. The filet was cooked perfectly and the bone marrow butter was a great finisher. We shared the crispy Brussel sprouts and a few oysters. We both enjoyed them and I was honestly impressed with how crispy the sprouts were. The oysters were delicious, fresh and flavorful. The really nice part was since we were both celebrating birthdays, we both got complimentary desserts. $10 a pop, on the house. A restaurant with their stature doesn’t have to do that but it’s really impressive when they do. We’re just two folks having dinner and they treated us like we were Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes. It was really nice and we appreciate it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a upscale dining experience in Kansas City. Plus it’s in Union Station, easily one of the top 5 destinations in Kansas City. It’s an all around new favorite of ours for celebrating life events.Parking: Large paid parking garage located at 1804 Broadway St, Kansas City, MO 64108. Easy walking distance to Union Station. Up one escalator or flight of stairs to large main hall with Pierponts on the opposite side of the hall.

We had a large party and the service was perfect! And, certainly not least important, their bloody marys (all 3 kinds) were amazing! Most restraunt made mixes are less than okay to me but this was amazing.

The American Reserve: what do users think?
Tom Shoemaker: Atmosphere is great, just short of stuffy formal cigar bar style. Service was pretty good. Just had a martini at the bar.Bartenders were young and came across as inexperienced in that casual conversational way that a good bartender has, but I am sure that will improve.Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lee Turner: Always have the most delicious food. This place never disappoints!
Janice Penn: Fast service food was excellent place was very busy this morning but still very fast and efficient with skimping.
Mr. Weaver: We had about 12 people no one complained about there brunch! Tom (the manager) was awesome! I can't remember our waiters' name but he was also me too! The best hospitality ever! Tom even told me about Lonnie's, I'll be trying that this Friday!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Alpha Landingham: Staff was on point. The restaurant space is rather small and feels kind of crowded. The decoration is art deco, strong 1920s glitz theme. The food was solid standard fare for a four-star hotel. Nothing bad just nothing all that special. I got the steak and my dad got the fish. Our server was definitely worthy of note as were the cocktails/bar.I would give the overall experience 3.8 stars. Enjoyable, but not exceptional.
Rudy Jones: Cool restaurant, nice ambiance. Food was good. Our service was slow, unfortunately. Ordered a drink that was on the menu which they didn't have. Appetizer plates were never removed from the table. Was never offered a dessert menu and our waitress rushed to get us our check and off our table.
Antony SiVelli Jr.: Ate there with my friend because he said selbychef works there… was pumped but apparently he left. The food was atrocious, the service was horrible! I’ve eaten at Gramm and Dunn when he was there… the food was 5 stars! Just shows you how important it is to have a passionate chef. Whoever is there now is absolutely not at the level of the beautiful space they have… can’t believe I wasted my money there. Gotta figure out where this guy went… his food was the best I’ve ever had in KCMO.
Your Friend Dimitry: The food sucks… should bring back that Russian chef. The food was good then.
Annette Berry: Located in the Ambassador hotel, you see a slew of different people, which adds to the electricity of eatery. I've been many times and the food is always good, service is hit or miss. On this last visit, it was definitely a miss. TRAIN YOUR SERVERS! I like Friday nights for live music and good drinks. If not for the consistently good food, I would not return. There are too many good places to eat in KC to pay for bad service, please fix it!
Lynn Williams: A very beautiful, well kept, awesome restaurant with great food at reasonable prices!Kid-friendliness: The children seemed at homeParking: Valet is the way to go!
Karan Sethi: Delicious cocktails and fine ambience 👍Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Steven Martens: Historical hotel restaurant with good food. This is a very nice dining establishment and they had a solo artist who was very good. The only complaint was it was too loud to carry on a conversation.
Charles Wells: One of the best steaks I've ever had in kc. Got the KC strip, they nailed it on the sides and the cook. No complaints will be back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lauren H.: The American Reserve is a poorly managed hotel bar with a cool atmosphere disguised as an upscale restaurant.I made birthday dinner reservations here since I assumed it was an elegant place. My husband and I arrived, dressed to the nines, to find an empty restaurant with people in sweatpants and slippers watching ESPN on the bar TVs. Awkward. As the host was seating us, we mentioned to her that it was my birthday. After being seated, our patronizing male server came to the table and asked me, “I heard it’s your birthday, hun?” I’m an adult woman turning 37 — not seven — “hun.”The server then proceeded to tell us that the restaurant was out of spinach dip and okra appetizers. He then asked to see my husband’s menu because he said he didn’t remember all the other items they were out of. He further said they were also out of the salmon entree and had no fish for the market fish entree. I’m a pescatarian, and so I was left with absolutely no entree that I could even eat.We left and went to Lidia’s where they were able to serve everything published on their menu and had a respectful server and delicious food. Five stars to Lidia’s!As we were leaving the American Reserve to go to Lidia's, the host and the hotel front desk staff person tried giving us coupons for other restaurants in the area. They oddly didn’t try to give us a coupon for their own business. The host told us that if we would come back next week, the American Reserve would have a new menu. They can’t even get a grip on their existing menu — why should we expect them to properly handle a new menu?
Luis Sanchez: Great steak! Lots of options for fine dining.Recommended dishes Steak and Fries …More
Meredith Harmon: Gary was an amazing server, blacked chicken with the mac and cheese was delicious, winter mules were perfection
Wendy Darragh: Michael was awesome. Food not great - the steak was like eating at a wedding. Had been cooked earlier and the sides cold. Great atmosphere & drinks though!
Chelsey B: Went to celebrate two friends getting married. The service was okay, had a few large gaps in getting drinks and ordering food. The atmosphere was nice except the background sounds were really loud. I felt like I had to yell at the people I was sitting with to have a conversation. The food was okay. The wine was fantastic. They have a much wider variety of alcohol than they do food. Limited menu and I have food allergies so I could literally only order a grilled cheese sandwich and it was bland. I will not return. I can go elsewhere with more menu items and for a much cheaper price. I literally spent $100 for 3 glasses of wine, a grilled cheese, and a bowl of soup.
Jesus Roth: Amazing food and even better service. Was so impressed by everything about this place!
Alma Aragon: Can't say enough about the quality of the food. Good atmosphere and pleasant staff. Excellent downtown location.

Gram & Dun: what do users think?
Earl Fowler: This place is an excellent add to the Plaza area. An upscale restaurant that has a southern soul about it. Our group ordered 4 completely separate items from the menu, sampled each others food and the overwhelming response was that this food tastes great! The service was a little slow but we were there at prime time so a little leniency was in order. The waiter was quite nice and did time refreshments almost perfectly. The only thing that was a huge distraction was the temperature in the area we were in was like a sauna! Ugh it was sooo hot but the view outside was good from their newly installed great window facing Ward Pkwy. I will definitely revisit this location and hopefully in a more tempered area.

Danh Nguyen: Came for brunch over the weekend, I was advised to reserve in advance. I've heard that this place is popular and it was busy during the time we were there. The brunch menu is quite extensive and we found something that we each wanted, the traditional american brunch menu items that you would expect to find. I had the Plank with a side of sprouts and my friend had the Texas biscuit. The Texas biscuit was a large portion. The planks i got were also fair size (i took the option for all three). I had choseni t specifically as it was advertised as the only farm to market option they had. We were satisfied with how they tasted, but the sprouts were especially delicious. Pricey at 10USD for a side though. We took a mocktail each, the berry mocktail which was very tasty, and the Dimples, which was less so.The only thing I didn't enjoy was that I felt rather rushed. They indicate that the reservation periods are 2 hour slots which is fair, but asking if we'd like to box up our food an hour after eating is a bit much. I eat slow for one, but we were also just enjoying each other's company whilst making dents into our food, we weren't dismissing it completely to indicate that we had finished. Granted the waiter accepted I was still eating when I told him but felt he was hovering a bit too much.

Emily M: Mediocre at best, struggling to see why this place has the good reviews that it does. The menu specifies that their chicken & waffle dish is a fried chicken breast. I specifically ordered it because i prefer white meat, over dark meat. I even asked the waitress about it and she recommended it. It came out with fried chicken that was obviously a thigh. I asked the waitress if the menu said it was supposed to be a breast, because i thought i may have misread the menu. She thought it was a breast, but checked with the chef. She came back to table and insisted that the chef says it’s a breast. I am experienced enough with both preparing dishes, as well as dining out frequently all over the country, to know the difference between a thigh & a breast. But for those(like their chef)who don’t know the difference, i’ll break it down. The 1st thing I noticed was the shape, they are 2 very different shapes. I cut it open to find it was dark meat(thigh) rather than white meat(breast). Thigh meat is also a noticeably different texture when you cut into and look inside. I would have even been ok if they apologized and said they ran out or some excuse like that. But false advertising + plus a chef that can’t tell the difference between a chicken thigh & breast??? Disappointing meal & experience.

Charles Wells: Cool little spot on southwest boulevard, great food, and cocktails. The Coffey here is quite the show.Have had luck here with and without a reservation for a party of 2.Not the cheapest but worth the experince.Parking: You may have to circle the block and walk a block or two. There is a small public lot bear by but it is easily filled. I have never found a spot there
Bryan Whitehead: I’ve been dining here since before it was called La Bodega, so naturally it’s an enduring favorite for me. I always get a combination of tapas, so I don’t have much experience with entrees or salads. The small plates are outstanding. Almost everything I’ve gotten here has been an excellent combination of good basic cuisine and delicious sauce. I’m a big garlic fan, and they do an especially good job with garlic-intensive flavors.I just about always get the brotxeta and the papas fritas con ajo. From there it depends on what’s on special, what my companions want to try and what happens to catch my eye. As I said, I’ve almost never gone wrong. They also do a good job with cocktails. On my most recent visit I got an allspice daiquiri that was quite good. The service here is excellent. I recommend going during happy hour for the cheaper tapas and reduced noise level. Getting lots of small things can add up to a big bill at the end of the meal, and parking can be a little weird. But really this is one of KC's best dining experiences.
Ben Valley: I love tapas places and they are too few. This place is EXCELLENT! If you've never tried or you love tapas..... GO! They also have crazy cheap happy hour deals that are almost HALF OFF! You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't go. There are few places like this a one. Happy hour is Monday to Friday from 2 to 5. Bring a date, bring a spouse, bring of your friends, or go alone. BUT GO!!!!!

Emily Simpson: This place was okay. It was obviously trendy, but I went there with my dad and his older friends, and they couldn't understand the menu, and then you're outside and you've got the noise from the cars driving above you. The two tapas items that I picked from the menu for the table were a hit, but the other two that the table just went with at the suggestion of the server were kinda meh. The drinks were delicious, though. And though noisy, the patio was super cute. I think I'd have a different experience going back with friends. Not for the older crowd, I'd say. I think it could be a 5 star experience if I went with my girlfriends.

He took the time to understand our tastes and suggested incredible wines to try. It was a masterclass in wine education and a wonderful, personalized experience. Bravo!

However, there was blue cheese in something and it wasn't listed and my daughter got sick due to an allergy. The food wasn't bad, except for the fries and they do have some good happy hour deals. We spent more than we should have sampling different things but we will likely be back with a better idea of what we want.I do wish the food came out closer to being served together. My grandson loved the birds!Good enough to come back to!!Dietary restrictions: Better labeling of ingredients for food allergies.

Tonia Bonavito: Brittney was absolutely amazing! She was handling the bar all by herself during a busy happy hour and still continued to always make sure we needed everything that we needed during a busy time even though her colleague had to leave. Service was amazing
Hugo O: Such a good spot to stop for lunch and to spend the day in this neighborhood! Fried cheese curds are always a must and my favorite. The Cobb salad with grilled shrimp was a perfect meal on such a beautiful sunny day after spending the morning at City Market.

Chris Wilborn: Loved the atmosphere inside and out .Great view of downtown .I have wanted to try Harrys CC for some time as I have a small collection of Country Club and Muehlebach Beer Stuff. We were shopping at Planters Seeds and were choosing between KC Taco and a never eaten at restaraunt . We very much like KC Taco, but Harrys got the win.I was surprised to see Very Little Country Club Beer Stuff visible inside , their logo was pretty much it . We picked a table outside and were immediately greated by a smiling but "short" waitress . ( my described her as disinterested or "put out") . I tried to make light conversation and she would have None of it . I ordered a beer with my sandwich and it never came. I went in to the bar and she was laughing with bartender and (manager?) ( so being " too busy" was not her issue ).One of the two men immediately brought out the beer in a 3.00 extra special NFL Draft cup which we had declined earlier . We asked it be taken off , but she took the itemized bill and I couldnt tell if she did or not.I paid the full bill, but this the first time I have not tipped in many, many years. My wife said that she was not impressed with the food, I was happier than she.

Emily Roswold: We came here for an employee lunch and Harry did not disappoint us. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful, and she was cute as a button! I normally don't like American food very much, but I highly enjoyed my sandwich and the presentation was immaculate. Harry is goated!

Kyle Bechtold: Great new year party.
Carl Schuett: Had a fantastic evening on new years. The entertainment was great and the drinks were good. I wish they would put one in Omaha.
Holden Joynes: The music was POPPING and the drinks were tasty. The best experience in PnL I've had in years
Chris Alvarez: I dont know if you mean to represent this or not but last time I was there the over load of toxic femininity was so thick I almost puked. Not fun only if you want to get white girl wasted and dance on tables
D.W. Odom: Loved the entertainment and enjoyed the fast and friendly service
Anthony Johnston: Fantastic live music - strongly recommend. Diverse adult beverage options are good and reasonably priced. No food at this venue, but allowed to bring in food from other places within the Power & Light district. Very good after-party location to continue an evening after a T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center) event. Very close to the free trolley stop as well.
Carrie Garrison: I went here for my Bachelorette party and had soooo much fun!
Tierra Wade: Music was great but the drinks were so weak spent 80$ neither of us got even a buzz!
Ryan Anders: Leave the karaoke to the professionals. Five stars.
Sàndi Decker: Great atmosphere. Our group had a fantastic time. Musicians were outstanding.
Elizabeth Maguire: Drinks way too expensive. I asked for the cheapest drink they had at the bar, after the first suggested drink ended up being $30. And the bartender said cheapest thing they had were straight alcohol shots starting at $7.50Not karaoke, but live music. It was all right, three out of the five singers were good singers.

Large area outside to gather. The owners are there quite a bit to make sure the experience is personal. We usually get the steaks a salad and drinks. The carrot cake is our favorite for dessert.
Annette Berry: Went for date night and really enjoyed our dining experience. We started at the bar for re meal drinks. JJs has a great variety to choose from, and the bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. Then we moved outside for dinner. The food and service were generally great. My date didn't like his swordfish, and my carrot cake was dry and tasted like a bad grocery store version. Otherwise, the food was delicious. The ambiance must be mentioned cause it was so nice and added to the success of evening. I definitely recommend JJs for date night!
