Cherrelle Crawford: We came here for Mothers Day brunch and I was truly disappointed. There wasn’t much of a selection on the buffet. No waffles, pancakes or crepes of any kind. The potato’s were cold and the only thing that I really enjoyed was the omelette station. At first the waitress seemed nice but you could tell he was overwhelmed because we would have to keep reminding her about drinks, she messed up our bills.

Kayla Jones-White: There was a black male bartender with pink hair who falsely accused my family and I of attempting not to pay our tab. I spoke to the Manager and he ultimately allowed us to stay in the establishment but the ordeal was humiliating. Especially considering we were coherent, and tipped will the entire night and paid our bills promptly. This is a night club that I frequent, but the manner in which I was treated by the black male bartender with pink hair was completely unacceptable and unwarranted.
Laneé Stro: I went to Ale House for Memorial Day weekend with my family to commemorate my late grandmother and a Black male bartender with pink hair accused my family and I of not paying for a tab. We eagerly tried to show him the invoice via bank statements on a phone, but he refused to service us and ordered security to remove us from the establishment. I have never been treated so poorly for something I didn’t do - and when we attempted to calmly explain ourselves we were accused of arguing. My cousin did talk to the manager who ultimately did say we could stay in the bar, but we were so humiliated that we just left.

My issue is: A Sports bar should mean no Justin Bieber, sad songs, etc etc etc. If I could find the DJ or whoever that thinks it’s appropriate to blare cheesy music during football Sunday I’d slap them on the hand and say cut it out. Haha. Set the mood for sports REGARDLESS the team. Save your money on the DJ; it isn’t needed for football. Just my priceless two cents. Haha.

Matthew Winningham: Loud. If you are 30 and under, this is probably a great place, but otherwise, if you want to have conversation, this is not the place to go. Service was actually decent and our waitress was nice. But the music, and consequently the voices, were too loud for us to hear each other at our table. Also, not many draft beer choices. Lauri Edwards: Read positive reviews of service, atmosphere, etc before going. The walk up bartender was amazing as well as the view. When ordering drinks was told you have to order food from table service, waited and waited for a server to stop by or simply notice us. Finally, we flagged her down and asked if table service was offered. Her response "Well, I mean, I guess we can if you need it." I asked her "What does that even mean? Are you waiting tables, can you take our order? The bartender told us only table service can take our food order." She then smiled and said 'Oh, okay, yeah, well, sure, I guess I can.' We ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer....the food came and went. NO drinks. I went to the bartender that was prepping for staff only. Saw our drinks sitting there. Offered to take them. Was responded to rudely. Sat back down, waited another 10 minutes, no drinks. Went to the other amazing bartender. Ordered our drinks. 5 minutes later, our drinks were brought by a different server, which I refused at that point. The 2 beers had been sitting for 45 minutes in the heat AND I had gotten our drinks in the meantime. Our server then came to ask why we refused drinks we had ordered. She did apologize for the wait, saying she would take the drinks off our tab, but never did.
Christine Muehe: So after all of the negative reviews I’m so glad I went out and tried this amazing little niche. Our server, Hannah, was really good. She was busy but very attentive and said upfront we might have to let her know what we had to break our bill up. There were 12 in our party, so I understand needing some help! The food was really good. I’mNot a huge fan of chicharrones, but the spices and sauce for dipping were spot on. The hummus was really creamy and pita was soft and chewy. Drinks were excellent. I had an Old Fashioned and a Paloma. We had a reservation on a weeknight and they seated us right away. Parking is tough, but you have to look around and you’ll find a spot. I highly recommend this place. It won’t disappoint.
Jillian O'Connell: Each time I visit Percheron, I have a different experience, and they're all great. Being an outdoor venue with a beautiful view of Kansas City, lends itself to an enjoyable time. Most weekdays, tables are readily available for a cocktail after work. The after sunset vibe is wonderful with the city lights and hung string lights.The food, cocktails, and waiters have also been great. Their Za'atar Paloma is one of my favorites, even though all the cocktails I've had are delicious. The food is wonderful, as well. Most recently, I tried the Papas Bravas, which were quite different from traditional Papas Bravas but equally as good!Note: Percheron is completely outdoors. Keep this in mind as it relates to your weather preferences!
Corinne Roman-white: I was handed this drink for 13 dollars. Was told “it’s not in the correct cup” I saw the other cups. This was not filled up enough. This is exactly as I received the drink, no sips have been taken.

Lynelle NH: Came here in August 2022. We were visiting from out of town (DC and SD) and were looking for a rooftop to relax in. We found this gem with the most perfect view of the city. Cannot wait for this place to open up again.

Creative drinks, lots of energy here. 4 stars instead of 5 because we didn’t have a single warm interaction with bartenders or servers. Everyone was very busy and didn’t take time to make a connection. Go there, get a drink, talk to your friends, enjoy the view.
Danielle Davis: If i could give 0 stars I would. First time visit to this establishment. The location is hard to find. I tried to call multiple times but the restaurant itself does not have a phone number you have to contact the hotel. Once we arrived we were directed upstairs to the roof. The hotel guest were friendly. Once we were sat at the rooftop bar that’s when everything went downhill. Our server was very RUDE and his energy was as if we were bothering him by asking questions. We let him know we have never been at the establishment before. The drinks we ordered were not that great and pricey. Someone in our party asked where the restroom was and the server response was “it’s one on each floor.” We asked again and got the same answer. We again reminded him we have not been here before. He asked for our debit/credit cards to hold for our tab. We informed him we were paying cash. He insisted he needed everyone’s card to hold. Our cards were held but nothing was charged or preauthorized like a typical hold. After we paid he sat everyone’s change down on the table and walked off. We had to sort through them ourselves and figure out who had what. His presence, energy and demeanor was not what we expected, especially for such a pricey place like that. Will not be back or recommend.
Katie Gillmore: Great downtown skyline views, but overpriced and service was met. Slim food offerings. Worth a stop, but I wouldn't plan to stay.

Earl Fowler: This place is an excellent add to the Plaza area. An upscale restaurant that has a southern soul about it. Our group ordered 4 completely separate items from the menu, sampled each others food and the overwhelming response was that this food tastes great! The service was a little slow but we were there at prime time so a little leniency was in order. The waiter was quite nice and did time refreshments almost perfectly. The only thing that was a huge distraction was the temperature in the area we were in was like a sauna! Ugh it was sooo hot but the view outside was good from their newly installed great window facing Ward Pkwy. I will definitely revisit this location and hopefully in a more tempered area.

Danh Nguyen: Came for brunch over the weekend, I was advised to reserve in advance. I've heard that this place is popular and it was busy during the time we were there. The brunch menu is quite extensive and we found something that we each wanted, the traditional american brunch menu items that you would expect to find. I had the Plank with a side of sprouts and my friend had the Texas biscuit. The Texas biscuit was a large portion. The planks i got were also fair size (i took the option for all three). I had choseni t specifically as it was advertised as the only farm to market option they had. We were satisfied with how they tasted, but the sprouts were especially delicious. Pricey at 10USD for a side though.We took a mocktail each, the berry mocktail which was very tasty, and the Dimples, which was less so.The only thing I didn't enjoy was that I felt rather rushed. They indicate that the reservation periods are 2 hour slots which is fair, but asking if we'd like to box up our food an hour after eating is a bit much. I eat slow for one, but we were also just enjoying each other's company whilst making dents into our food, we weren't dismissing it completely to indicate that we had finished. Granted the waiter accepted I was still eating when I told him but felt he was hovering a bit too much.

Emily M: Mediocre at best, struggling to see why this place has the good reviews that it does.The menu specifies that their chicken & waffle dish is a fried chicken breast. I specifically ordered it because i prefer white meat, over dark meat. I even asked the waitress about it and she recommended it. It came out with fried chicken that was obviously a thigh. I asked the waitress if the menu said it was supposed to be a breast, because i thought i may have misread the menu. She thought it was a breast, but checked with the chef. She came back to table and insisted that the chef says it’s a breast. I am experienced enough with both preparing dishes, as well as dining out frequently all over the country, to know the difference between a thigh & a breast. But for those(like their chef)who don’t know the difference, i’ll break it down. The 1st thing I noticed was the shape, they are 2 very different shapes. I cut it open to find it was dark meat(thigh) rather than white meat(breast). Thigh meat is also a noticeably different texture when you cut into and look inside. I would have even been ok if they apologized and said they ran out or some excuse like that. But false advertising + plus a chef that can’t tell the difference between a chicken thigh & breast??? Disappointing meal & experience.

Russ Utter: This place is trash. If you want to be treated like a common criminal, then this is your place. A friend and I were walking up the stairs to get a drink at the rooftop bar because the line down below was long. I had been up there earlier that same night for the same reason. Unbeknownst to us the rooftop bar had closed. There was no sign indicating such. Someone yelled at us (turned out to be a bouncer), so we turned around and he shined a very bright LED flashlight right in our eyes blinding us. I raised my left hand trying to block the light from blinding me and flipped him off with my right hand because he continued to shine the light in our eyes. Next thing, 3 bounces rushed at us, grabbed us, yelled at us, and told us they were kicking us out. I asked why and they said cause I flipped them off and that the upstairs was closed. I told them we didn’t know the upstairs was closed, it wasn't marked as such, and I flipped them off cause they kept shinning the light directly in our eyes and it blinded us. Of course they didn’t apologize for blinding us with the light, and proceeded to kick us out, shoving us from behind as we voluntarily left.

AJ Maxey: The food was pretty good and the service was great. I enjoyed the outdoor seating as well.I knocked off one star because I ordered an old fashion and it arrived with the orange and cherry muddled in the drink so it was very citrusy and pulpy. That's not how you make an old fashion.

Royce Shields: Upon arrival the place was really nice. Once seated we placed our orders. We waited about 45 mins before getting the two appetizers that were ordered. After about another 20 mins or so the waitress approached the table and informed us that she placed the order incorrectly(Unfortunately she didn’t provide us a name so can’t exactly who she was) but when asked about how long it would be before the food would come, she stated “well you ordered 3 steaks, rolled her eyes and walked off”(mind you all the steaks were 6oz) she also brought me a child’s orange juice and when she returned for refills I asked for more juice and she stated “well they said they ran out of juice”, as if that’s my fault. She could have said this and I could have ordered something else! We then we asked for a manager and asked the same about time frame on receiving food, because now we’ve waited over an hour, and with no response. He then stated “you did order steaks and your orders all needed extra accommodations, but not going to go back and forth with you we are working on getting it out to you, it’s only been placed 20 mins ago and walked off”…I am a manager myself and never would treat guest in this manner we then as a party of 9 decided to leave. It was very clear that other tables were a priority over others, but even as nice as the place displayed its self to be, we will not return to this location. There were guest that arrived after us and who spoke to us outside of the restaurant as they waited for the rest of their party, they got in received food and was leaving within the time of us asking about receiving our order. Ruined the birthday girls day for sure, currently looking for another place to eat. Worst visit ever!!!!
Lovey Carvin: My family of (9) went here for brunch and celebrating a birthday, while we arrived @ 1130 for our reservation was promptly seated at 1139(no problem) however once seated the sever(which I don’t recall her name) took almost 20mins to greet us! Took our drink orders took a while returning with drinks, promptly after we placed our food order roughly 12:15, waited patiently server returned to our table @ 12:40 stating it was a mishaps between her putting in the order & the kitchen staff! Never apologized for the mess up! I then approached the manager adv him of the issue.He begin to tell me we ordered steaks and etc, mindful of that however the fact the serve & manager both responded w/attitude’s & unprofessional mannerUNACCEPTABLE, clear to see In the environment was prioritized by color. A family bigger then our party arrived and was seated same time as our party & was leaving and served when we decided to leave the establishment.Sadden first time here and will never return

Hannah Taylor: We met some family here for brunch a few weeks back and it was really disappointing. I had been looking forward to it for a very long time and heard great things. Our service was okay and the place was beautiful but there was long periods in between being checked on and the food was extremely underwhelming. I got the diablo and it was okay but wasn't really spicy nor had a lot of flavor and my boyfriend's french toast looked unappetizing. Definitely not worth the $70+ I spent on the two of us... Maybe we should have come for dinner instead.

Anita Todd: Our first time eating at Piropos. Our server Jill was excellent. We had the crab bisque which was amazing. My husband had the ribeye. Perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the medallions and shrimp. The sauces were so delicious. They gave us a free sample of the bread and dipping sauces which we ate during and after dinner. Overall excellent meal and service and we would highly recommend. Btw. The sangria was excellent too!!

The bread basket comes with three different spreads to try out. The appetizers of bacon wrapped shrimp and chicken empanadas were absolutely delicious.I ordered the beef medallions with tiger shrimp. It was phenomenal. Excellent flavor, and the sauce for the medallions was exquisite. I highly recommend ordering the chicken empanadas to start and go from there. They gave me a complimentary cheesecake slice for my birthday. 10/10 for the food, service, and atmosphere.
