No food at this venue, but allowed to bring in food from other places within the Power & Light district. Very good after-party location to continue an evening after a T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center) event. Very close to the free trolley stop as well.

Brianna Raakman: This place is extremely dark. I could not even tell when I entered which tables were free because it was so dark. They only had QR code menus and it was too dark for my phone to scan it. The layout of the space was not great because the band is right at the entrance so only a couple tables can see the band the rest are too far away. Yes the live music is nice but the aesthetic of the room was not my style and it made it difficult for me to stay and enjoy it.

Patrick T: Warm wood and brick throughout. On warm days, they've got a wall to wall floor to ceiling garage door bringing the outside in. Great live music. Covid took a toll, the kitchen is currently closed, and they don't open till 5. Music is often old school blues, bluegrass, plenty of open Mike jams of the same. Occasionally a rock or funk band plays... (usually a fusion that fits in the nice warm space). A whiskey and beer pub. Yes, pub vs any ol bar.

After waiting for 45 minutes (after paying the cover charge) waiting for the advertised guitar player to begin, I found out it would be another hour. The guy that was playing in his place sounded as if he was making up the songs as he went along - at about 120 dB.Not recommended.
Mizzou Marine: This place is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!! Awesome owner, great staff and the atmosphere is AMAZING!!! If you’ve had a negative experience here, you love a brick wall. Super fun!!!!

Got there it was myself ,wife and 5 month old.nikki like us and waitress did also. was good until around 9.another employee I think came over and told us we had to leave since did not allow younger in there after 9. So give us things so we could take are food to go.had to ask waitress for ticket since she was unaware. Would have been nice to know from get go.that way wouldn't have gotten to kozy being there and wouldn't have my meal interrupted. Would have avoid the whole place.hopefully it was the truth and not malarkey because of and individual try to go above and beyond. Which was weird since not much people were there. Was trying to support local yet will not go there for a while.will just have to catch Nikki playing at another location for now on
LS Tours: THIS is the place to go for LIVE MUSIC and GREAT FOOD on a weeknight! We visited on a Tuesday and were blessed with hearing the piano talents of Walt and the singing abilities of Talya, who can really belt it out with the best of them! What a great vibe, a welcoming atmosphere and even unexpected back up singers from the crowd! What an unexpected treat!

The music was fantastic, the energy was pure, cozy welcoming. We had the cajun pasta, it was absolutely delicious, hands down the best i have had in Kansas City. My wife is a big foodie and she rated the pasta 10/10 as i would've rated it 11/10. We fell in love with this bar and will for sure, be back! Thank you for giving us a bar to remember. Erin Sampson: I've always loved shows at the Record Bar. It's a great venue with a variety of beers on tap. My partner and I were real excited to see Tim Capello last night and it lived up to expectations. Unfortunately, the sound guy was not excited to see Tim and decided to act like a dramatic 5 year old at a party they didn't want to be at. We saw him rolling his eyes and displaying other nonverbals that made it clear that he was not happy to be at work. Tim asked him to make a few adjustments and he was snippy in his response back. It seemed that he spent more time at the bar than the sound booth. It was disappointing and distracting to see an employee acting so disrespectful. I understand that he doesn't have to be a fan, but at least be respectful of the performer and the fans that have paid to be here. 5 stars to the venue, bartenders, workers at the door, & everyone behind the scenes. 0 stars to "too cool for school" sound guy.

Going to concerts in your 40's is a much more enjoyable experience than in your teens and 20's. Everyone just rocks out in their own little bubble and you don't have sweaty, dirty, drunk people flailing their shirtless bodies' all about. I've been to Record Bar for many shows and it's high on my list of favorite concert venues. Oh and Geoff Rickly and Sparta were killer!!Parking: You can always find a parking spot somewhere within a 2 city block radius at most.

R J: A friend took us last night, wasn't sure what to expect, but OMG what an awesome experience. Heather (owner and star sjnger) is simply amazing, slinging drinks whilst belting out tunes on her headset mic. Brenda (bar tender extraordinaire, also known as Donna) has the best "you people all need to calm the F down and what can I get you to drink" face I've ever seen. Everyone is so pumped up, loving the atmosphere it is contagious. Possibly the icing in the cake is the angry piano player who throws shade on bad song requests!

JOHN JONES: Was a good place to go
Bob Sandidge: After spending a Sunday afternoon here you'll be back for more. Late night jazz club in the middle of the day. A trio that knows it's way around more tunes that you're likely to hear this lifetime. People who are gracious and friendly and moving to the music while they serve delightful drinks and, in this case, a fine steak and eggs breakfast. I'm in heaven and a heaven I would like to take back to a suburb of Chicago where I live. Were I living in the KC area this would be my regular hang. If you are visiting KC and enjoy great swingy jazz, you'll want to spend at least one dinner or brunch here. Maybe more. Anne Ward and I loved it and eager for the next visit. Oh, be sure to make a request.

I think Broadway Jazz Club is a fantastic music venue -- it feels to me like a much bigger version of the original Milton's on Main. And the food? If all they did was serve food with no live music, I would eat there regularly. Everything I've tried has been fantastic. I'm sad that the other reviewer had such a different experience, but I'll add that I've been several times now and it's always been consistently awesome!

Sherry Jackson: My friend took me here for my birthday the performer's name was Kim, this lady was totally awesome. I absolutely loved her performance, the band was great as well. We did order food and it was delicious. Our waitress was wonderful. She kept up with us and made sure that we had everything we need. The club itself was clean and nice. There is also an outside sitting area. There were two different places where you could take pictures. Really good time I definitely would recommend you going there.

T P: I went here two nights in a row simply because I felt like it was a grown and sexy atmosphere. My second night I did have an issue with the food, but the managers were very accommodating. The food was good the first night, but the second night, not so much. But they did fix it, so I have to give them five stars because the customer service was wonderful. They wanted to make sure that I was happy. So, Thank you!
