Jeremiah Barber: I contacted Mold Test KC because I had a serious mold problem that was recently mitigated and I wanted to test to ensure the mold spore count was no longer elevated and initiate ozone treatments to completely finish the job. My exposure to the mold spores triggered allergic rhinitis and cough variant asthma and sent me to the emergency room and urgent care. I was very ill and didn’t feel comfortable living in my own home without a professional follow-up inspection. Mike Devine was quick to respond and setup an initial consultation. He came out and tested my outdoor and indoor air quality both upstairs and downstairs. We also provided Mike with access to our home so that he could place an ozone generator in various locations while we stayed in a hotel for a week. After the ozone treatments were completed, Mike fogged the entire house with D-Con 30 which is an organic mixture of the herb Thyme. After the fogging, I was concerned about what he suspected to be a rodent smell that was continuing to linger after the treatment. At no additional charge, Mike setup a fan with true botanicals tablets and liquids and ran it upstairs and downstairs for several days. Afterwards, the house smelled very fresh and the foul odor had finally dissipated. Mike provided the test results from the initial mold inspection and there were no elevated mold spore counts remaining in the house. The test results were very detailed and provided information about specific species and strains of mold that were present, but in very tiny amounts. Due to all the past issues and odors, Mike was concerned that we may have been living in a house with sick building syndrome. He recommended that as a final step we run a Hydroxyl generator to completely neutralize the air quality and eliminate, on a molecular level, any residual molds, viruses, bacteria, or odors. Mike allowed us to continuously run the generator in multiple locations of our house for upwards of a week at no additional charge. When Mike came by to pick up the generator and ensure we were completely happy with his services, he even threw in an extra true botanicals tablet to use at our discretion and keep the house smelling fresh. Mike was a godsend for our particular situation. I desperately needed an expert to hear all my concerns and recommend courses of action to remedy the situation. Mike is very friendly, knowledgable, and extremely patient. I felt like I was in capable hands and Mike behaves like a private detective seeking out the root source of your problem. I really appreciated that Mike’s techniques are safe and organic and don’t leverage any toxic or harsh chemicals. Mike also uses state of the art equipment and always ensures they have brand new filters before beginning treatments. Thanks to Mike’s expertise and dedication to customer service, I finally have the peace of mind that I desperately needed to feel comfortable living in my own home and recover my health.
