John Reed: Great staff with wonderful services.
Lazlo Hollyfeld: Absolutely shoddy, ill-conceived and unprofessional architecture and design principles. I wouldn't trust them to design an outhouse, let alone a professional sports stadium. Just witnessed a game at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ, a Populous designed stadium. In that stadium, there's absolutely no way to get from Section 455 to section 401, despite the fact that they're immediately adjacent and only 200 feet apart. Because of the way the foot traffic flows into the Stadium, if you enter in the "wrong" entrance or go up the "wrong" escalator, instead of merely walking 200 feet to your seats, you must circumnavigate over 340 degrees of the entire Stadium, instead of the 20 degrees that go directly to your seats. Same issue in the 300 level seats. Same issue in the 200 (e.g. Section 201 to 248). The city of Glendale, AZ should sue Populous for design malpractice.

JOhn Monroe: Mixed bag with this general contractor. The owner is honest is easy to work with. They certainly know how to do mid-century rehab. Some of their in-house craftsmen are excellent, including the cabinet maker and metal fabricator. However, some of their subs including painting and plumbing were sub-par. They did a nice job building up the roof insulation, and then proceeded with an terrible roofing job. There are gaps and folds in the material with separation from the flashing. 3 years out I have leaks in both the roofing and plumbing. If you hire them, be careful to inspect everything, clearly they don't.
Jose Bautista: Jerad, Nate and Ryan (and their superb crew, including Aaron and Alex) are some of the most talented, skilled and hardworking architects and building contractors KC has to offer. They turned an old, run down box in midtown KC into a stylish and modern professional building, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the final product. I can’t say I was surprised by the quality of their work as they produced custom office and home furniture for me back in 2009, but I was impressed by their speed, responsiveness and cost accuracy for a relatively large project. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Studio Build.
Kurt Scholla: My wife and I hired StudioBuild for a major remodel of our home. We could not be more pleased with the service, process and final product. Being newbies to the whole design/build process, we were understandably apprehensive undertaking such a large project. The architect/builders at Studio Build allayed our fears and tackled the job like true pros. They were responsive to our needs and transparent about costs and any hiccups they encountered along the way. They are true artists and perfectionists and this shows in their work. Morgan Johnson: I had initially gone through B+A to have a set of residential plans brought up to code and stamped so that I could start on a new home build. I had also requested a few additional changes such as, adding an unfinished basement, swapping out a few of the materials that the original plans called for, etc.Throughout the duration of this process there was a serious lack in communication on their part. I would be given estimated timelines, half way through those given times they would send me invoices for the percentage of work that they claimed had been completed, and although they would never send me any kind of draft or update showing that progress was actually being made (aside from the invoices), I paid them because I wasn't sure that they would continue to work on my project until they received it.When it came time for them to deliver, I would have to call and email for weeks at a time. I could never seem to get a reply until a much, much later date than the date that we had agreed upon. I would have to hound them just to receive some kind of status update or response just to be sure that someone hadn't just run off with my money. When it was all said and done they wanted to charge me over $6,000 for these plans and I didnt even end up using the ones that they created for me. It would have been more of a hassle for me to ask them to correct a few things and wait for them to get back to me than it would for me to find someone else to do it.While shopping around for someone new to help me with these plans, I had the chance to speak with a handful of Architects and Engineers in the area and all of them were appalled at the price I had paid for B+A to update my plans....long story short, learn for me and save your money!!! Go somewhere else. It will take so much less of your time and will cost you a quarter of what I had spent.

Without question we were going to NSPJ. Through it all, they were gracious and enjoyable.We could not be more pleased with the end result: a two-tiered patio of brick and concrete, with a retaining wall and gently-sloping stairs, all set within a cocoon of beautiful plantings.

George Koloroutis: Contacted them in October 2016 and spoke with Rick Jones. He told me at that time they were swamped and that they could not start until after the first of the year. I said that's ok, I will call you in March if that works. He said it did. I called him yesterday, March 13th 2017, and he told me they are still swamped and won't be able to help to me until next year. I was shocked since I had taken him at his word that we could get going in the first quarter of 2017. I expressed my disappointment and frustration. There was no apology. No attempt to fix it. He repeatedly uttered, "I don't know what else to tell you. We just don't have time." This level of treatment from a firm that came highly recommended to me was a let down to say the least. I've heard that NSPJ does good work. And I have seen some of it firsthand. But I remain baffled by the less than professional behavior and communication. There seems to be an intrinsic disregard for the client's well being. Maybe this will work out better in the end as I will find another provider. A provider that values my patronage.

Allera B: We thought the layout and the design of our house was great and we trusted KEM Studio to deliver a great product. We didn’t realize until later that some aspects of the design were not functional or erroneous. We have a guest bedroom right next to HVAC unit and a condenser unit above the room. Imagine the noise they make when they turn on. Didn’t realize that until our guests told us that it was hard to sleep in that room because it was noisy/loud.

D Buck: AIA-KC was the venue of choice for our Holy Union ceremony. The space, the ambiance, the ease of parking made the space a perfect fit. Amy Tonje, staff liaison for all membership matters, couldn't have been more accommodating, making sure our needs were met and everything ran smoothly. She went out of her way to make sure our event and our day went beyond our expectations. We have much gratitude.
Deborah Williams: We had the opportunity to work in this wonderful space while catering a really fun "Mad Men" 60's theme party for a client. The space was fantastic, very contemporary and urban, yet retaining some retro elements as well. Every thought was given to the design of the open kitchen and we loved the fact that there were also great spots for us to prep our Hors D' Oeuvres. The staff was knowledgable, friendly and accommodating throughout the process of planning and evening of the event, both to us and our clients.
