Shekinah S.: I have mixed feelings about this place. I loved the food every time I have came and the music is usually good. But the service and drinks have been hit or miss. It seems to depend on who is there. One thing I will say is being drunk on the job is unacceptable in any in environment and being defensive when a customer vocalizes something wasn't right is never okay and it takes away from all the good. Besides the unprofessionalism on a select few, this place is great.

Angel Lewis: I really wanted to like this spot. I had followed them on Instagram awhile back and the atmosphere and rooftop bar looked great; however, the view was probably the only good part about this place. Firstly, the menus our waitress brought over were ripped and dingy paper menus. My man and I ordered two drinks: a beach martini and a peach smoked margarita... she brought back over 2 lime margaritas. After telling her she got the wrong drinks she said "well we're out of peach"... sis, that's something you say beforehand. You don't just guess what someone wants. My man kept his drink and she grabbed me the beach martini which tasted like straight koolaid. We then ordered the deviled eggs and crab bites. Both were very mid and they brought them out in to go boxes ?? The waitress asked if we wanted to start a tab, my boyfriend handed the card over, and she just charged it immediately and didn't even bring over the ticket for a tip. We had to ask the bartender for the ticket. My boyfriends a sweet man and insisted on tipping, but if I were alone I'd probably not tip at all. When she brought the ticket over she just stood at the table and watched while my man filled out the ticket. Overall, the service was horrendous and that waitress needs to be fired. I wasn't sure if her behavior was because we were a black couple and she's a white woman or if she was really just that incompetent. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

MisterMister Mizzle: This is not Canary KC. The server informed us that the change from Canary to Boho Sway at Canary was made in December (2022). Soon as we walked in I noticed the place lacked aesthetics. My girlfriend told me there were two all gender bathrooms and that they didn't have locks on the doors. I responded asking if there were stalls and she said there WEREN'T. So someone can just walk in on your lady while she's doing her business. Don't be fooled by images of the previous restaurant's menu online. We look at the paper menus and they were completely different and nothing even looked good. We ordered the salmon tacos and the Brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts were ok at best, but in their defense, most brussels are too greasy (as these ones were). These were too salty as well. The salmon tacos were good but you only get three little tacos for like fifteen bucks, and I didn't understand they were served cold. This is my attempt at giving a decent review but I just looked at their website and I can't even find a menu there. What does that tell you. This place blows. I bet all the food pictures are of the last restaurant.

Alex Hunter: First time here for a birthday. Had a party reservation for 8 but only 6 showed up. Got charged 20% for gratuity for a big party. Could have taken off the charge since only 6 showed up. Food was way too expensive for what it tasted. Had an assortment of starters and entrees. It looked really good, but taste was mediocre at best. Service was good but food and drink could have been better. Also was really slow for drink service.
Radmila Helms: Do not recommend anymore. Horrible service, unprofessional and slow. Couldn’t find the person to take us upstairs to the rooftop, key fob wasn’t working. Once we got to the rooftop, the fire pit wasn’t working, music was very quiet almost not there and slow service. Went back downstairs to the bar area since the rooftop area not the vibe and our service even at the bar was slow. Server had to ask us twice within 5 min what drinks we ordered. Drinks themselves were good and food is good but this place is not what it used to be over a year ago.

Alpha Landingham: Staff was on point. The restaurant space is rather small and feels kind of crowded. The decoration is art deco, strong 1920s glitz theme. The food was solid standard fare for a four-star hotel. Nothing bad just nothing all that special. I got the steak and my dad got the fish. Our server was definitely worthy of note as were the cocktails/bar.I would give the overall experience 3.8 stars. Enjoyable, but not exceptional.

Annette Berry: Located in the Ambassador hotel, you see a slew of different people, which adds to the electricity of eatery. I've been many times and the food is always good, service is hit or miss. On this last visit, it was definitely a miss. TRAIN YOUR SERVERS! I like Friday nights for live music and good drinks. If not for the consistently good food, I would not return. There are too many good places to eat in KC to pay for bad service, please fix it!

Awkward.As the host was seating us, we mentioned to her that it was my birthday. After being seated, our patronizing male server came to the table and asked me, “I heard it’s your birthday, hun?” I’m an adult woman turning 37 — not seven — “hun.”The server then proceeded to tell us that the restaurant was out of spinach dip and okra appetizers. He then asked to see my husband’s menu because he said he didn’t remember all the other items they were out of. He further said they were also out of the salmon entree and had no fish for the market fish entree. I’m a pescatarian, and so I was left with absolutely no entree that I could even eat.We left and went to Lidia’s where they were able to serve everything published on their menu and had a respectful server and delicious food. Five stars to Lidia’s!As we were leaving the American Reserve to go to Lidia's, the host and the hotel front desk staff person tried giving us coupons for other restaurants in the area. They oddly didn’t try to give us a coupon for their own business. The host told us that if we would come back next week, the American Reserve would have a new menu. They can’t even get a grip on their existing menu — why should we expect them to properly handle a new menu?

The atmosphere was nice except the background sounds were really loud. I felt like I had to yell at the people I was sitting with to have a conversation. The food was okay. The wine was fantastic. They have a much wider variety of alcohol than they do food. Limited menu and I have food allergies so I could literally only order a grilled cheese sandwich and it was bland. I will not return. I can go elsewhere with more menu items and for a much cheaper price. I literally spent $100 for 3 glasses of wine, a grilled cheese, and a bowl of soup.

Student of the Word of God: Kept hearing about this great place near the City market, so my wife and I decided to go. #1, we were sat in the corner near some dead plants so maybe that’s what caused the flies and gnats to invade our space. #2, our server wasn’t too pleasant. #3, a gnat flew into my food, when I tried to get my server’s attention, she walked right past me. Diane McKinney: One of our favorite Sunday Brunch spots! We like to sit outside and this summer they have added a shade cover so it's more comfortable out there. All of the food we've had has been amazing. There is a regular Sunday brunch menu as well as a special menu specific to that day. I was dissapointed that they had run out of the ingredients to make the Mimosa special so I was forced to drink a regular one :(

Kim Gallamore: We stopped here for a quick drink after the Farmer's Market. It was a really cool laid back place. We accidentally left some art there that we just bought at the Farmer's Market. When I called a couple days later they still had it. I was shocked & so happy since it was a bday gift for my daughter. They mailed the art to me & for that I'm super grateful. Linda Rounds: Great BBQ!!! Can't remember the name of the sandwich waiter recommended and not listed on the online menu. It had burnt ends, sausage and their homemade slaw. Brandon Lassiter: The food was delicious! Tender burnt ends, moist ribs, and flavorful brisket along side some yummy bbq beans and potato salad. The side upgrade to french fries is well worth $1 as the fries are amazing (comparable to KC Joes). Our server Joe B was outstanding and enhanced our experience with an uplifting and kind personality! It was a hot day but the umbrella gave us shade and the water kept us cool. We shall return!

In my opinion none of the places in KC (MO or KS) that I have tried can touch Char Bar! By far the best I have had and will definitely be back! Localfocal KC: A decade of memories were built and now that is all we have. Delicious cocktails and a fabulous selection.
Dan Watkins: Julep has great cocktails and an extensive whiskey selection. I have had nothing but good experiences here, and am hopeful that it finds a way to persist in some form.I recommend their Sazerac, Old Fashioned, or Mint Juleps.

I used go here every week before I moved few years ago. I loved this place before and it makes me sad. I really hope they manage this place to improve.
Kaleb Young: Drinks were good but the service definitely left something to be desired. We waited 15 min, in an empty back room, before someone came by to take our order. Then had to wait another 20 min to get the check once our drinks were empty to get the check. We paid a large deposit for a reservation but we’re never told it was going to a charity instead of going to the tab. Which would’ve been fine if we had we been told beforehand but it felt misleading. I’ve had a good time at Julep in the past but recently it seems to have been on a downward trend.
Stephanie Simms: Made a reservation for the Halloween pop up, and it wasn't actually ready. Pretty disappointing that nothing mentioned it wasn't actually ready yet, and we were seated in the regular bar with some decorations on the table. We were seated at 5:45 and it seemed like our server intentionally didn't come by to take drink orders until after happy hour had ended.Drinks were fine. Small, and not particularly exciting. Seemed overpriced for what we received (especially the bar mix). The drink pictured was $26 to serve 2 and it filled those rocks glasses about 1/3. This will teach me not to be sucked in by a gimmick.Otherwise a very nice bar.
Pulkit Kashyap: Very nice cocktail bar in the uptown area of KC, what’s not to like about good cocktails. Super friendly staff. The coolest vibe in this neighborhood. Excellent whiskey menu withinformative descriptions of the whiskey regions. Very reasonable prices. Parking was convenient too.

Holly Welsh: Beware of hidden fees. Our group of fourteen made a reservation for happy hour at 4:30 on a Wednesday. When we arrived, there were three patrons and a single employee sitting at the bar. We were instructed to sit wherever we would like. We pushed tables together at the far end of the restaurant and enjoyed our cocktails. Apparently, our reservation and our own efforts moving together tables warranted a 10% “coordination fee”. Ridiculous.
