Scott Shepherd: I've been to five made in kc locations, and this place has the most bar potential, but it is almost completely unutilized. I get staffing is a huge challenge, but not staffing the bar prevents us from making this the afterwork spot. Ordering a drink here seems like you are putting the staff out and that they hate to do it. Really hurts the experience.

Cici: Lovely cafe'. Glad I stopped by. I had the vegan 'bacon and egg' biscuit sandwich I believe. Perhaps one of the best vegan sandwiches I have ever had. Number one or two. Should have taken a picture. Also had a hot almond milk latte.Attached to the cafe' is a shop with MIKC merch. Hopefully I stop by again and buy some of the food or clothes items.🔥

Chandra Jennings: Was craving ice cream today while visiting KC, and my mom and I decided to swing by Betty Raes. We see why it is one of the most popular local ice cream spots as the line was out the door. The long line went quickly, and we got helped by the nicest guy that allowed us to try a couple of samples of the after dark and mint chocolate chip. Both were amazing! The mint chocolate chip was not super sweet and was super light. My mom loved the after dark that was chocolate on chocolate on more chocolate. I decided to get the mint chocolate in a waffle cone, and my mom decided not to get anything. But, as we were checking out, the guy insisted that she get a child's cup, and she said yes. The guy checked us out but did not charge my mom for the child's cup, which was really sweet. Thus, we left them a nice tip! Great service and amazing local ice cream made with lots of love and not all the junk! Betty Raes is a must when in KC!!

My fault for coming so late in the day but he and the others were so helpful even at the check out. I even bought four of the Jalapeño Limeade juices and anxiously awaiting to try.
Randall Hearne: Store selection was as expected for TJ's and we found what we were looking for.The people in the store, a lot of the customers, seemed to be overwhelmed and confused at what they were seeing on the shelves as they were just kind of standing there in front of sections and not really moving.Just taking up space. ( I stupidly assumed when I called it was new for fall but apparently they started carrying this summer)Anyway looked, couldn't find, one worker said look again by eggs, they could be gone. Went back, still didn't see. I saw two employees sitting behind wine counter and when over and asked if they knew why they were out. A female worker literally ran over and yelled at me for disturbing training, then proceeded to act like I was an idiot for not knowing the pumpkin season was over. I left my cart of groceries and headed back 3 hours with an empty cooler. Cross them off my shopping places and Whole Food, Hy-Vee, etc where they talk to me as a valued customer.

It's one of my favorite places to go for a sweet treat. They have so many delicious flavors to choose from, from classics like chocolate and vanilla to creative ones like lavender honey and brown butter pecan. They also have some unique flavors that are only available in Kansas City, like the KC burnt ends & sauce ice cream, which is made with Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que. The ice cream is creamy and rich, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is cozy and fun. I heard that Betty Rae's is recently under new ownership, and I hope that nothing changes with the quality and variety of their ice cream. Betty Rae's is a gem in Kansas City, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves ice cream.

Na- Na: This is a pretty nice Ice Cream shop. They offer milkshakes as well, which is what I went for. I got a Butter Pecan small sized milkshake which was good, the price is a bit much for the portion, but it’s not terribly unreasonable. It was about $7. It’s a pretty good vibe and nice looking space but if it gets crowded it’s not as enjoyable which I assume happens often based on the busyness that day. A little bus was parked outside of it which I assume is another space to enjoy your ice cream. There’s also other outdoor seating aside from the bus. All in all: 3.5/5.

Scooze Flynx: I'll keep it brief. The server was great. Very courteous and even offered to get me another side when I wasn't satisfied with the ones I received. That being said the food was not good. I got the catfish meal with hash browns casserole and steamed broccoli. The catfish was decent, however the broccoli was severely lacking on butter and the hash brown casserole was not hot and tasted pretty old. Overall them meal wasn't great.

Jeff Newby: I've slowly watched this place go downhill and it's unfortunate. The people at the deli and sandwich area are very rude and not helpful. Cashiers are fantastic.

Henry Williams: Wonderful family-owned store with lots of local history. Can't put my finger on it but there's an old fashioned Italian-American vibe to the place. Was skeptical of their cannoli but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
Tom Shoemaker: We were staying in an apartment downtown and this was our go to grocery stop. Beer, wine, bakery, produce and a great deli. We became addicted to their deli's Mac n cheese.

I can see for a blind person but, just on the regular around open cold sandwiches/hot food and just the food in general is unsanitary.Plus one of the cashiers was petting a dog that came through the line without washing her hands another time. She got mad because I asked her to at least sanitize her hands and told me, "To get out her line!" because she was in the wrongI don't think it's fair that animals are freely roaming through a grocery store...Is this a Health Code Violation?
Michelle c. Trimble: Their deli section is absolutely amazing. The store is clean, employees friendly shelves fronted, faced and shockingly stocked...lol. only gave 4 out of 5 stars due to lack of variety. It's brand name or bust here, so expect to pay for the nice curb appeal.
John Groves: Allows unprofessional employees to cuss out customers. Management was informed and they allowed it. ....... Very disappointed in the unprofessional and uneducated staff they have dealing with customers.

I appreciate not wanting the restroom to be a public one, but for NO STAFF MEMBER to know the code is stupid, ridiculous and unprofession.

The deli area has a great selection of food you can get to go or sit at one of the tables they have on a small dining area. They also have an amazing selection of desserts if like us you are just looking for something to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Benjamin Moore: I just left the Main St. Kansas City, MO location of Cosentino’s Market. The male cashier was quite unhelpful and short. When I walked up to the register, he spoke and rang me up. I selected the $20 cash back option and said, “It would be great if I could get two 10’s.” He said - in a very cold and short tone might I add - “I’ll have to see I have that.” Which, of course, I know that. It wasn’t what he said but how he said it. He opened the register and had no 10’s. So I asked for four 5’s, which he then gave me. The next customer - who was a White male - was greeted warmly by the cashier with, “Hey! How’re ya doin’? Do you need your parking validated?” As you could imagine, I was caught by surprise, because I received none of that courtesy and warmth. Also, see the picture I’ve attached. Quite disturbing. Why do I post it and bring light to it? Because this is a hint into the culture and mindset of this establishment.As a cast member of a major musical tour that is in town, it is immensely disheartening to tour this country and experience people’s bias, racism, and inequities. The same people - who quite possibly came to enjoy my performance on stage - treat me differently when I patronize a local business. What a shame! I hope you examine your policies and employees and ensure that they treat ALL PEOPLE with care and respect. It’s 2023 - time to do better.

Kim R: I’m so weary of poor customer service at places I love the food & coffee. What is the deal with the chip on your shoulder (to basically every counter person I’ve ever interacted with here)? Specifically, I ordered a drink one way and it came in another way, and they charged me to fix it 🙄 I’m sure a place that has such great food doesn’t have to worry about friendliness or fixing something like that - but making customers feel super welcome to be in your place is huge! It’s another layer of business value.
james schaefer: Excellent food, but decline in atmosphere and service. Went there on Father's day with the kids to encounter loud music that made it hard to have a conversation. I love 90's hip-hop, but blasting Baby Got Back in the morning isn't the atmosphere I personally enjoy in a bakery with the family. And no one likes a Cashier with a tude.

It's sometimes a little dicey getting in and out of the parking lot, but I mostly take the bus and there is a convenient stop just steps out the front.
