Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church: what do users think?
George Smith: This was the only Church I've ever walked into in which members of its congregation complain to guests and complete stangers about their own minister. To be fair though, since I've never been much of a church goer then maybe this is more normal than I think it is. None the less it is somewhat off putting, not something a person considering becoming a member should be faced with as it suggests that there is no internal mechanism with which to resolve such grievances in any other than a punitive fashion. Though I sympathized there is no crocodiled filled moat around the church preventing people from leaving.Nobody's perfect. The ministers a good story teller and gets my jokes and she is I intelligent and since UUISM invites the disaffected members of many different faiths and belief systems, all with different biases and prejudices, I imagine tfhat her job is about on the same level of difficulty as herding cats, so I cut her some slack. My most negative experiences here were related to a cliqu and the continual nonsense became intolerable, so I stopped going, something which made them happier and the ministers job a little easier and saved me from wasting any more time and resources. Bumper stickers:OUR HISTORY=OUR POWER"...all the colors of the wind"
Shelby Morgan: This place and the people are awesome!
Michele Russell: Love this pantry. Never feel less thanwhen I have to attend. They are ery welcoming. Make appointments
Charlie Arnold: Love it, has a great sense of community and I've been going there all my life

Jonathan Andrews: Great community, wonderful pastor, and a fun music team
Peter Tormala: I was only there to feed homeless people. I'm not sure what Unitarians believe and don't care.
Nubia Urena: ❤Great church! Accepting of all walks of life.
Jim Arndt: There are some good people here, unfortunately like most 'churches' it is very cliquey. I attended here for a little over 3 years and although I tried to connect and help (volunteer on projects) I was not very welcomed.
Heather Brown: Very inviting and friendly congregation. Reverend Rose has the most amazing sermons.
Tony Gardener: The members were so welcoming. No fake "Welcome" like some other churches.
Mark Hines: Love is the doctrine of this church. Service is it's prayer.
Toby Vonderheyde: Welcoming liberal congregation.
Megan Irwin: A welcoming and caring community no matter what spiritual journey you're on.
Terri Spalsbury: Wonderful place that's welcoming to people of all religions and beliefs. Fab children's program with accredited teachers facilitating the curriculum. Beautifully talented artist including pianist, vocalist, along with other instrumentalist fill the congregation area with song and sound each week. If your looking for a place with ceremony and tradition without feeling pressure or judgment, this is the place for you.The church also sponsors several charity and volunteer programs to become involved in, if you desire, in addition to Wednesday evening game night's (childcare provided), continuing religious education classes, and several other opportunities to connect with the church and the members. Absolutely worth the visit.
Joseph Domko: Beautiful service and amazing people; a very welcoming place.
