Lynn Stewart: We had a Bachelorette party here (ate in costume before going to the real party). The service for a large party was great. The musicians serenaded the Bride to be and even took pics with us. The staff handled our craziness very well, the manager came by and offered her blessing too. The other diners were smiling and laughing as we all came in too. Everyone was fantastic. Oh, the food was great. The view of the lake out the window added to the fun and was beautiful to see. Last night they had a $15 cover charge for what was supposed to be an R&B, Soul, funk, blues & motown band. It was not. None of THAT was played. A 70yo laurence welk sounding man is not entertaining. Well maybe to alot of really old folks..lol..but not worth a cover charge. The filet mignon dinner was delicious. Their food is always good 👍. A bit pricey but filet mignon usually is anyway. Their drinks are pretty good too. I love their servers. They are always so bubbly and down to earth ☺️. They always make you feel welcomed.

Their hand breaded mushroom are absolutely delicious! Unfortunately no smoking inside, but the atmosphere is awesome! Everyone I talked to was friendly! Courteous and prompt service! Nice location with plenty of parking. Right off Blue Ridge and 40 hwy! Great place to visit with family and friends, or make some new friends! Daily dinner specials and reasonably priced.

Valla High: Don't go here if you're younger or want a beer on draft, wanted something fruity and was suggested a margarita, they didn't even have sugar for the rim and it tasted like gasoline. They literally had white claws and that was never mentioned or suggested, same with their specialty shots. Everyone here was much older and stared the whole time. Very uncomfortable and supposedly and a bar and grill but never even told us what they had for food and there's no menu anywhere in the place.

The staff have been unusually impatient and gotten the order wrong as a result. We were dining in and I asked for hot water for tea and was given a styrofoam cup of lukewarm water instead. My husband ordered ice tea/ no ice and received a glass of ice water. I ordered a fish taco and received a small piece of lukewarm fish buried in cabbage inside a moist tortilla? Not once did the server offer options, clarify what the order did or did not include. When we attempted to ask about the order and convey our dissatisfaction, we were shown a menu. Not once did anyone make any effort to slow down and provide a measure of real customer service, show concern, or correct the order.The whole experience was disappointing and we will not return.The Casa Mexico in Blue Springs is excellent. Sadly, I cannot say that for the Independence location.
