Kimberly Cooksey: I was given a small tin of topsys. I was very disappointed in the cheese pop corn. We are getting hard kernels like rocks. I see another person has the same complaint. I’ve had topsy every Christmas growing up. The flavor is still the same wonderful taste. But it never had all the hard pieces of kernel the cheese popcorn does. Please resolve this issue. It’s horrible and could’ve broken my teeth. This Tom came from the independent store. My friend lives there and purchased it at your store.

BAB: STALE PRODUCT AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICEI had placed two orders with Topsy's Popcorn & Ice Cream for two tins of caramel corn. The popcorn of these two orders arrived fresh and delicious. However, the third order that I placed, I received very stale and poor tasting popcorn. I attempted to contact Topsy's on three occasions through their website and six occasions to their email address. I never received any type of response. This is a poor manner in which to run a business and a horrible customer service. Do not buy any product from Topsy's Popcorn & Ice Cream due to their extremely poor customer service.

The woman threw her hands up and said something.We were still standing there confused because she abruptly said it with an attitude and turned away to continue what she was doing. I turned to my boyfriend and said "okay. I have no idea what she just said." The guy noticed, and clarified that "we're only serving popcorn and drinks."She could have easily said that without the nastiness, regardless of what day you're having. No reason to take it out on others, especially customers.I only eat the cinnamon popcorn, but the service here is awful. At least she was, which ruined my experience.

This particular Topsy's decided that they wouldn't participate in the free bag of popcorn. Coincidentally, they are the only one in the Kansas City metro area that's doing this. Anne Murray: Not what I expected. It looked dirty and old. It was poorly organized, the surfaces looked unclean/ dirty and the popcorn wasn't labeled with prices. The staff was unwelcoming, a bit reluctant to provide information and somewhat unenthusiastic about the popcorn. It was very hard to believe that this was supposed to be the 'famous' Topsys I heard about and was about to try for myself. The funny part is for the very very poor presentation of the brand, the popcorn is very expensive. I would not recommend this one.

jerry francis: I called this location on Saturday. They said they opened at 9 on Sunday. I confirmed the time since it was going to be on a Sunday. I arrived at 9, but the store didn't open until 12:00. When I finally was able to make my purchase of 4 cans, I asked for a bag to help me carry the cans out. The staff told me the sacks didn't fit and I was left to take care of it myself.

Kelsi DeBruyn: Awful customer service from the guy that works there. Came in for a fountain soda and after I paid he handed me the drink with zero carbonation. I told him it was out and he made it my problem that he would have to go "all the way downstairs" to mess with it. I said okay please do. He then said it would take a while, I said ok. He said it might not fix it. So I asked for a refund and he said no. So I said what can you do for me here because the product is not correct. He offered candy but that's not what I need. I asked him if we come back tomorrow can we just get a new drink then? I literally work on the plaza so I can come back whenever. He said he wouldn't be here. I asked when the next time he will be and he said "a couple days". He was not being helpful what so ever so I trashed the drink and said nevermind. The worst service.

J Martin (Jack): I received an email for a free medium bag. Topsys is the only brand I will buy in a can or bucket. It was towards closing time so not much to choose from but that was ok. I thought we could only choose between the four flavors. Turns out they had mixed bags. My mom got Carmel n cinnamon, son, cheese n Carmel. Myself, cheese, Carmel & cinnamon. I hate to say I was a little disappointed. My favorite is cheese with a cinnamon kernel mixed in to break up all the cheese flavoring. At first, because it was dark, I thought I got plain/ butter. It didn’t taste like cheese either. But in the light, it was cheese. Did they not add as much as normal because it was free? Are they using a cheaper brand of popcorn? Both mom, child & myself thought there was way to many you couldn’t eat. The cheese tasted old. It was like spitting out sunflower seeds. I used to brag how good topsys was. See the “was” word. I don’t know if they are cutting back due to inflation or what. If this was my first time eating their popcorn I wouldn’t buy from them again. Was it because it was free? I don’t know. It makes me not want to refill my tin anymore. I don’t want to be stuck with $60 refill and it not be edible. I might go buy s small bag and see if it’s better than what we got for free.

Did you know how Topsys got its name?? The fantastic woman working told me the whole story of a popcorn spot opening in a "rich & topsy" area of KC...the Plaza! Make sure to get yourself and friends/family Topsys popcorn when you are in town.

larry smith: I had been here one time before and it was great. Today was a let down. I noticed big bags of popcorn in the store. That is what it tasted like, prepackaged and not freshly popped. It was stale and very disappointing when I made the effort to buy it and take the time being from out of town. This definitely was not fresh,popped popcorn because I was there shortly after the store opened. Very disappointed and I threw it away. The microwave popcorn at the hotel was many times better.
