Super friendly atmosphere and the variety of machines is great. Pinball related merch shop was cool and there are machines for sale and a parts section if you’ve got the itch to have one of your own or need repairs. Been looking for a place like this after moving here from St. Louis back in 2020 and happy to say I’ve found the perfect one. Highly recommend if you like pinball and want to avoid a crowded bar scene

Loyd Gattis: Solid State is a low-key throwback to the kind of arcade where we hung out as kids--a little rough around the edges, affordable, zero percent corporate, lots to discover. We held our nine-year-old's birthday party there, and Nick went out of his way to welcome us (organizing a Street Fighter tournament, etc.). Kids and adults alike had a great time. Solid State is an under-the-radar Kansas City gem.

subdivide: Many, much and several pinball. If you can find it and be there when they are open then you are going to play some pretty sweet pinball. They have old tables and new tables and all sorts of stuff. I really enjoyed it and there are other businesses in the same building. But the pinball is where it's at. The most tables of any single venue in Kansas City that I'm aware of. So that is something and maybe worth putting on a website along with easier to find hours and pricing.

Kelly Chesley: Discovered Solid State after eating at the Combine (pizza/restaurant in the same building). This is such a wonderful addition to Kansas City! They have TONS and TONS of pinball machines. The staff on-hand when we came in was so friendly to our kids, taught us new games, and just was wonderful all around. We payed $5 to play for an hour (per person) and it was the best thing for my 5 year old son. He loved it! Great little snack bar selection (chips, candy, soda), clean bathroom, really nicely run place. Hoping to have our birthday parties here later in the summer! We'll definitely come back :)

He already knew much about the style and how it worked. John took it for a couple of months and after it being idle over at least 30 years, restored it to the working condition it provided our family so much fun with.When my parents had it at their home it provided so much fun for their grandchildren and visitors. My husband been waiting since September 8th 2022 for him to fix and bring the rest of the pool table back. He has not done it so we’re stuck with a broken pool table.

Steve Freidell: I needed my table recovered. I called Brendon and he sent me color swatches. I found the perfect color I was needing. Within a week he had my fabric and came to my home. He discovered my rubber rails needed to be replaced so he took those back to his store and replaced those there. I was surprised he had so many 5 stars, so I was skeptical that perhaps people were being offered incentives to provide a review. Not Brendon, quite the opposite. I have a lot of interaction with workers in my home. Brendon exemplifies every thing that all these other people have said and more. I could not be happier with his workmanship and products he sells. I now have a new table which plays exceptionally well. His prices are reasonable but you get WAY MORE than you thought because he completely goes through the table and makes sure he fixes everything on that table before he leaves. I've never seen another person who goes overboard to treat his customers so well. The fabric comes from Italy and is exceptional, much better than what was on the table before. The new rubber rails are incredible and he found several other problems with my table and fixed those for free. He releveled the whole table and made sure everything was perfect. I will play on this table much more now, Thanks Brendon, you truly are the best!

John Laing: My experience with Chris was nothing short of fantastic. We had him out to fix an old(ish) Williams EM game (Blue Chip!) - he knows his stuff and his pricing is fair and direct.
