Laura Pon: Mon Photography is easily the best experience with a photographer to date! Monika is an extremely personable individual with a creative artistic eye. She was energetic, engaging, and overall just made the experience a lot of fun. Let’s be real, for those out there who aren’t professional models and/or not too comfortable in front of a camera, it can be an uncomfortable process. However, Monika has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting, and of course expressions. Her direction and guidance was everything - i.e. poses to avoid that lovely arm flab or where to gaze your eyes so it’s not nonstop RBF in every photo. I couldn’t imagine anyone else to get my husband and I out of our comfort zones. Looking back at our sneak peek wedding photos, this may honestly be the one time I thought wow that’s an attractive looking couple. We can’t give enough appreciation and credit to Monika for capturing the most special moments of our big day and making it something we will treasure forever. We would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone who wants a truly customized photography experience.

Mother Nature definitely through us a curveball with a torrential downpour, but Monika was fantastic and knew just how to handle it. For our wedding party photos, she worked with us on backup plans for photoshoot locations and somehow we were surprisingly able to still get in many outdoor shots (thanks to her creative thinking & umbrellas). At the reception, she really captured the life and love of the party. So great!

Diana Dunn: Independence, MO. Initially I felt good going there. However, during our session she was taking other calls. After we were done and I with a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old were waiting Kim was emailing and doing other business. When we had to continue to wait all the pictures that were taken were not included in the file of all. Kim took A LOT MORE than 18 photos and I (the customer) was not able to pick and choose which photos I liked. Had to make a decision right then and there. I've never heard of such.All professional companies I've worked with in the past allowed for proofs to determine what you want. Not to mention, now days when you are paying that much money what does it hurt to give customer all of what they paid for. I felt like I was in a 90 minute time share presentation. Or listening to a Kirby salesperson.Worst photography company I've ever worked with! And of course no refund...wow - company made $200 for 18 pictures..pretty sad.Cant even comminicate by email either but as long as they are confirming its ok...Very poor customer service.
T R: Our photographer was able to snap over a dozen pictures in ten minutes and each picture was great. She was friendly and efficient and made the process simple. Picture People is located towards the back of buybuy Baby, right off of I-70 in Independence, so it was easy to get there.

Rebecca Elo: We did a cake smash with our son and Amy was wonderful with him. He was unexpectedly shy and she worked hard to get some positive interactions prior to the smash. Not only was she patient with him, but me. We rescheduled twice due to my bad planning skills, and Amy rolled with it. She also was incredibly patient in answering my numerous emails. I highly recommend Amy and her photography skills. She is top notch.

Ryan Lane: It's refreshing to work with someone who still takes great pride in what they do. It is not only the big things, but the little things that matter. Like, attention to detail, not being rushed through our session, creative suggestions and a genuine care for how the photos will turn out. Not only did we enjoy working with Amy, but our one year old extremely rambunctious daughter, she is super comfortable, calm and tons of smiles around her. It's one thing to just blast through a bunch of photos, it is another to have complete control over a one year old for amazing photos, our daughter loves her! The experience we have come out with every time we have had the opportunity to use Amy, is worth at least double the price. Exceptional experience and quality.

We just went for pictures with Santa. It was such a fabulous experience--and while there, I made a note to myself to make sure leave a review because she deserves it. The special event was set up and organized in such a way that the flow was impeccable and each family had individual/special time with Santa. Numerous times, I whispered under my breath--wow, she is the best. She just knocked my socks off with how efficiently she worked with our kids--and no tears. They were so wonderful and I’m amazed at how many great ones she got of our 18 month old interacting with his new sister, as he can be pretty chaotic at times. But you honestly would have never known it- they turned out better than I could have ever imagined and there were so many to choose from. We will be back for more as she definitely got a 10/10 in our book!
Brooke Kensinger: Tyra is simply the best! She has taken newborn, 6 month, and one year photos for our family & I have absolutely loved every single photo. She is creative in her posing & flexible in working around naps & feedings! It can be very challenging taking photos of little ones, but Tyra is so patient & is able to capture beautiful photos through toddler chaos. I will always recommend Tyra!
Adam Wilkerson: Tyra shot our wedding and engagement shoot and did a wonderful job! Words cannot describe how beautiful all the pictures came out to be! The engagement shoot was beautiful and so much fun. We were nervous before it and Tyra helped calm our nerves and make it very natural. The engagement photos (WW1 Memorial in KCMO) were beautiful. She then shot our wedding just recently. The photos are all beautiful and she provided hundreds of shots from the day! She did an exceptional job managing both families (both large/loud families). Her photos really captured the day from getting ready, to first touches and looks, to the ceremony, sunset photos, and throughout the reception. Her photos make it seem like she was everywhere, yet we never noticed her throughout the day, that’s how much she just fits right in and captures the day.
