Katie Wilsoone: Normally, I have had pretty good experiences with children’s mercy. That changed yesterday. Took my 3 year old there with a nasty cough , runny nose and fever. Literally said all it was is allergies. Seriously ? Allergies does not cause fevers LOL. I was all ready to visit the ER after leaving childrens mercy however instead made an appointment with the pediatrician. As it turns out . It is not allergies :(. It is a lower right lung pneumonia 😡. If I had not followed up and just took what they said my little one could have landed in the hospital on a ventilator. I have called and made a complaint. Be ware. And keep good mind set. If it doesn’t make sense it is usually not correct

Bri McBride: Never take your child here. They took our child to the hospital without letting us ride with because they thought he had an injury in his mouth from child abuse. When our child was examined at the hospital however, they found no injury of any sort and no evidence of any abuse, just a perfectly happy and well taken care of baby. 9 hours were spent with social workers and our child was exposed to radiation in X-ray for absolutely no reason. They never even got a second opinion before accusing of child abuse, spent 30 seconds looking in our babies mouth and instantly accused us of abuse. Doctor at er said they had no idea what injury they thought was seen.

Loc Nguyen: Knowing that my kid needs medical treatment and they still denied to treat my kid because we got here at 7:40 and they’re closed at 8. Most businesses are still serving their clients but this is urgent care and still denied patients when the patient need help. And yet they treat a White family when they even come in after us. I never believe the prejudice anymore until today. This is messed up and someone need to fix this. If we got denied and how come they treat other families that came in after us.

ashley belk: I hate to say bad things but as far as urgent care services go this place is a waste of money and time. Your child will most likely receive no care and it will take forever even with the save my spot. I have had years ago stuff get missed and the child’s ear drum exploded.So the emergency room here is telling me not to be mad at urgent care their equipment just isn’t as good for seeing strep etc. at any urgent care they tell me. But I’m done I won’t be back. Untreated Illnesses that require antibiotics can damage your kids heart etc.I have had good experiences with the actual providers and other services and I appreciate this northland location being available for that only.

Ryan Blanks: Overcharges for poor service. Got a strep test for our daughter, and somehow had to pay over $300. That’s WITH insurance. Because they are a HOSPITAL , expect to be charged out the nose. Doesn’t matter if they only spend 5 minutes with your kid. If you can, you are better off going somewhere else. Could have paid less for better service without even using insurance.

Lydia Bonakies: I am a first time mom so every little thing worried me and my husband to death. Every time we took our son here they were so caring and understanding. All of the staff I had an encounter with was nice and professional. The doctor was amazing and it was fast !

kris Amador: I can only say wonderful things about my experience in here, I made an online appointment for my daughter that has been with a horrible cough and noise bleeding for the past 22 days, I don’t like going to emergency room because most of the time you wait there for many hours and they don’t do nothing for your kids. This time was so different with my online appointment I only waited 5 minutes, they got us in, within minutes the Doctor was at the room examining my daughter, they did x rays, the results were so fast and the Doctor sent antibiotics for my little girl! Today she is doing so much better! Thank you so so much for everything you guys are the best.

Vanessa McLain: We have had nothing but fantastic experiences with this urgent care as well as any other Children's Mercy location we have visited. They are thorough, accurate, and so very patient and caring. As a nervous first time mother the staff have been a true asset.

I salute healthcare workers, but if you lack patience with parents of sick children, and your scheduled appointments have the wait of an inner city emergency room, then you probably should choose another profession.

fastcalicobra: This place is ridiculous, my son possibly had a broken foot with pain and discoloration. Here we are 2.5 hours in and the front desk told me they have his X-ray results back but I have to wait to find out, I asked for an ETA and was told they don’t know. I asked if the X-rays would be forwarded to an ortho and said if I don’t stay the ortho would have to redo their own X-rays. I would strongly recommend any to go anywhere else where they might care about patients a small percentage because this place does not!!!

sam kahn: Worst ER EXPERIENCE EVER. We can hear nurses and workers giggling and having an amazing time at 1 am in the morning. When we arrived only 1 family was ahead of us but it still took us over 2.5 hours to be seen. We should have gone to advent health or KU.

A B: When child waits 3 hours with a cut, gets triaged by nurse #1, and is seen by nurse #2 and nurse #3 over the 3 hours, before MD sees child to determine if stitches are needed to order LET gel to numb the area, how are you working to lower wait times?Seeing these cases everyday, none of the 3 nurses can make the call to the MD to order LET and speed up the process? The MD can't come in before the last 2 nurses to make the call and lessen occlusion time?When we came in, there were 4 kids ahead of us. None were life threatening and included normal walk in ailments.This is not efficiency, this is the opposite.We need to find a competent and caring placement for pediatric emergency because this place is certainly not it.

Finally got a room for my son and nobody came in to check up on him after 3 hours in the room for some lady not a Doctor till us it was a virus rash nothing they can do go home with a home remedy. We came in because nurses line advised us to get him check up because what he was having was not normal and we spent 5 hours for them to not fine what wrong no blood work just got sent home to give him a bath. Not to mention she was in the room for 5 mins!!!! How can you diagnose someone with listening to his heart and ears. Worst place and this is not the first time we go in and nothing is found or given

Lexy Fleenor: I got a voicemail that my child’s ENT appointment was scheduled for 2pm, and another voice phone call telling me her appointment was at 2 o’clock. I am a single mom, and cannot take off work, so my grandmother took her to her appointment. Once they got there the nurses told her that they had her on the schedule for 1pm, and that the provider said they could not be seen. The soonest available appointment they had was the end of next month. My daughter struggles with ear infections, and illness after illness even after getting her tubes. This was her follow up for her tubal appointment. Since I was not there to “prove” (which I work at a doctors office and this was incredibly unprofessional) with my voicemail that it said 2pm they turned my grandmother & 1 year old daughter away. Since it was THEIR automated system who gave me the time of 2pm I found this whole conversation incredibly insensitive & unprofessional on the providers part. Heaven forbid they have to take an extra 20 minutes to look in my child’s ears when they were the one who told me 2pm. I will be finding another ENT.

Crystal S: We went to the hospital 9/25 at 815p. We sat in the waiting room for three hours and hadn’t been seen by a doctor during that time. My kid got vitals an hour after being there and then nothing happen after that. When I got there, only three families were ahead of me. By the time I left there were 17 families waiting for a doctor. What’s worse is that her test results came back positive for strep. And now she can’t get medicine for it because we couldn’t stay longer to see a doctor. I had two other children at home with the sitter. My kid was there crying and could hardly breathe. She has a breathing condition as well. I honestly don’t know what could have been done differently other than just give my kid some medicine. You know what she’s sick with so send the medicine. Why does she need to see a doctor? The results were positive … ridiculous

Brian Saunders: Amazing staff!!! Without a doubt. I was informed that hospital management fired most of the staff at the start of Covid? Long wait times and the staff here are not happy with the short staff situation but they are still doing great things!
