Where the Redfearn Grows Natural Farms: what do users think?
Mark (aka Pappy): I love my trips to the country farm every week to pick up my CSA! The produce is very high quality and the Redfearn Family is very generous in my weekly CSA share! I love supporting this sweet, hardworking family!
Doug Dillon: Best veggies in the area
Todd Price: Wonderful people and wonderful veggies!
Donna Incantalupo: The entire Redfearn family put their hands and hearts in all they do to provide the most nutritious food to our community! They insist on zero chemicals used, sustainable practices and environmentally conscious methods. They offer a summer CSA share and one for the winter as well. For the last two and a half years, I have enjoyed a wide variety of tasty produce from their farm. It's affordable, delicious and they partner with other local farmers to round out your plate and build community.
Mary Anderson: The farm family are great. We love the veggies we get as part of their CSA. They are very organized with orders & the email that goes out each week; we appreciate the choice of substitution in some cases. Being able to add on bread from Farm to Table is a great bonus.
Joe Walter: Great CSA. Super friendly owners. Highly recommended!
Christi Hodill: They keep improving the flavor of the veggies every year and I keep going back! The CSA is totally worth it and everyone should be following these folks on social media.
Tandra Andrae: Very friendly! Beautiful farm
Douglas Quackenbush: Great, hard working family really believing in providing organic vegetables for all. You can sign up on their website and/or get more info. They do travel to O P in KS and Lee's Summit Farmers market. I've been a customer and known them for almost 20 years. Note: Knew them before they got into organic vegetables for other people.
Penti Menti: Just had our first pickup, we got the veggie lovers box and are so excited to dig in. They're pick up method is great, so happy we were able to get a share!
Janet Schaaf: We started going to the farmers market because we wanted to know where our food came from and we wanted it to be fresh. We kept going to the market because we got to know certain farmers, especially Sheri Redfearn, and enjoyed the conversations we had. We found common ground in our son’s and their alma mater, learned what inspired them to feed their family fresh vegetables, and saw their enthusiasm for bringing that same level of motivation to the community around them. In Dave and Sheri, we saw like-minded people with a passion for nature and a deep love for family.
Courtcase1: When joining Redfearn Farm CSA, I had no idea how much of a catalyst for change in our lives it would be. After being members for a few years now, we have really made a transformational change in our family. We had been members of a CSA in another state, and while we enjoyed it, we often did not receive the variety we wanted in our vegetables. The variety at Redfearn keeps us constantly trying new recipes and even introduces us to new vegetables that we've never tried before. The fresh produce is so yummy that you don't crave processed food. Adding the Facebook group page has been great because I get new ideas from other members, and it serves as inspiration when I am struggling with meal planning. Our children love seeing where their food is grown. Whether or not we've ever said it, joining helped us feel more a part of a community and it's been fun to find out new friends are also members. We can't thank Sheri and Dave enough for allowing us to be a part of their farm family.
Rebekah Chappel: I’ve gained so much from joining the Where The Redfearn Grows CSA last year. It’s more than the amazing abundance of fresh organic produce each week. I’ve gained community. Being able to work on the farm a few times a year has been a wonderful retreat. If you don’t know Dave, Sheri, and their amazing kids, you’re missing out. They are truly amazing people who work tirelessly at a labor of love from which my family benefits.
Lindsay Bozek: The Redfearns are some of the best people I have met! They really love what they do and it shows in the quality of foods they produce. I admire the strength and tenacity they have when it comes to the ebb and flow of daily farm life. LOVE the Redfearns!
Jane Martin: Redfearn Grows Natural Farms has it all: A great, caring local family who provides delicious produce that we feel good about feeding our kids (and ourselves). We are really looking forward to participating in their winter CSA this year!
Stephanie Ford: I have been a CSA member for two years and have loved every week of it. Eating organically grown vegetables every day has improved my overall health (I lost 15 pounds the first summer I joined and no longer have digestive issues). The health benefits are just as important to me as knowing that I am supporting local farmers. Getting to see how they impact the community has been really special. It is peace of mind for me knowing I am consuming responsibly grown food by a beautiful family. The Redfearns are so good at what they do, and it is so apparent that they are passionate about their weekly harvest and the families they serve.
Laya Down: Great people and nice farm raised eggs and the vegetables
Cookies Coop (Larry): Very friendly an helpful great vegetable
Amelia Hawkins: We love the great food fresh from the farm!
Steve Redd: Outstanding family, outstanding produce. I couldn't compliment the Redfearn family enough.
Kristen Allen: This is our first experience with a CSA. We joined because we wanted to eat more locally and organically grown food. It has been a great experience! Dave and Sheri are so nice and very flexible, going so far as to make up a bag of veggies for me to pick up later in the week when we weren't in town on our pickup day. We had a chance to try some vegetables that were new to us and found that we liked most of them. Sheri's recipes helped me to find new ways to prepare the vegetables. All of the vegetables have been fresh and delicious! We purchased the smaller package because there are only two of us and we've had plenty of food. I highly recommend the Redfearns as your farmers!

Independence Uptown Farmers Market: what do users think?
Brett Nelson: Lot's of vendors with a wide variety.
Jean Schmitt: This place was poorly planned by the city. Parking is practically non-existent, especially if anything else is happening on the square. There is a lack of vendors due to the extremely high prices the vendors have to pay to set up. They, in turn, have to charge an exorbitant price to the customer to make any profit. Should have left the whole place in the courthouse parking lot.
Brenda Gard: It is a great place to gather! My daughter got married there. It was beautiful!
Michael Young: Great selection and very friendly vendors. The layout made it easy to find what we were looking for plus a whole lot more. Everyone was friendly and no one wash pushy or rude.
Laura Estes: Loads of great people!!! All the vendors, and staff!
Sharri Duty: Garage sale. Disappointed there weren't more sellers
Ryan Rogers: What can you say...it's a market open for rent spaces
Dale Forrest: Great market with great varieties of fresh food!
Jody Acord: I love meeting and buying from our local vendors!
Ken Eberhart: It's more like, downtown.

b l: Was there for a special event. Good people.
Heather Roush: I love supporting local businesses, nice people and great prices!
Teresa Calton: I love to shop here. So much home grown fruits and vegetables as well as fresh beef. Homemade breads, jellies, jams, etc. Lots of crafts this time of year. So many things to choose from and not enough money to buy everything I want, whether I need it or not... 😁
carla marrs: I always enjoy taking a trip to the market.
Eileen Deveber: Great local farm produce and crafts
Charlene Jameson: Love this little market on Saturday mornings!
Christy Feeler: It was over crowded and had to park a distance away.
Taylor Mcmahan: Great people!! Good prices on somethings friendly environment!!
Terri Shryock: It was so fun. I wish I had k ow earlier how much it has grow. They have the usual fruits, veggies along with crafts and usable items.

Young Family Farm: what do users think?
Amanda Schroeder: Such friendly farmers with excellent produce!
Chris Johns: The best produce and seriously nice folks doing good for the community.(Pictured: recipes made from Young Farm veggies.)
Daniel Gooden: Great local farm! Got some fun vegetables, some staples, and local honey for a very reasonable price. There were a handful of other local vendors with spices, candles, health/beauty, honey. Everyone there so cheerful and having a good time. It was a nice visit.
Jay-Welch: Positive People & Healthy Food for the community! Absolutely amazing!
Brian Barth: The Young family is doing something special here. We visited to volunteer and learn about organic farming in an urban setting. The entire family is engaged in their mission of the meeting the needs of the community. We also bought a selection of veggies before we left. The Chinese eggplant and patty pan squash were suggestions and spot on. This eggplant is creamier. The squash is easy to prepare. We shopped both along with other veggies to make a sort of roasted ratatouille. Will definitely return.
Patricia Barrodale: Great produce and such nice people!
Rosy Rain: Amazing farm
Growing Growers Kansas City: Young Family Farm hosted us for a farm tour and workshop on irrigation management for the apprentices participating in the Growing Growers Kansas City program. They went above and beyond in sharing their knowledge and story with us! Each apprentice got hands-on experience with drip irrigation equipment thanks to their thoughtful preparation in hosting us for the workshop. We are lucky to have them as a host farm in the Growing Growers Kansas City program!
MARIA Gonzales: Excellent fresh good organic food kind considerate staff.
Erin Olschewski: I work with Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Funders and we reached out to Alan, Alana, and the rest of the Young Family several months ago as we began planning our annual conference in Kansas City. They were so helpful and hosted a group of about 30 funders from around the country for a farm tour during the event. Our funders learned so much about local land access, neighborhood transformation, community partnerships, urban agriculture in KC, and so much more! The entire family spent the afternoon the in summer heat showing us around and connecting with folks 1:1 - truly going above and beyond. I would highly recommend a visit out to the Young Family Farm and would encourage supporting them in whatever way you're able to.
Hilary Noonan: This is a great market for ethically raised fruit and veggies. You can choose the option of having a CSA order each week, mid-week or buying a la carte on the weekend. This farm has been growing each year to offer more diversity of veggies and fruit as well as partnering with bee keepers and others who offer additional value-added products. Add to that the joy one receives from the smiles of the grandkids, 3 generations working here ❤️
Akeyla Weaver: Loved it! Ill be back every weekend for veggies
Tamra Gibson: The Young Family Family farm is wonderful! I work within the KCK school district and wanted to expose my students to careers in agriculture and farming. I reached out and they gladly partnered with us! They created an amazing interactive presentation that gave our students information about starting a farm, maintaining a farm and creating generational wealth. We look forward to working with the Young Family Farm in the future!
Geneva Allen: Veggies were wonderful!
Alison Pfleger: Wonderful fresh and delicious vegetables!! Also grabbed a bottle of delicious honey!
Maxine Mitchem: They have good vegetables! Love this place.
jewel hogan: I was very satisfied with the Young Family Farm. The location is good and really visible to the public. The garden was neat and very organized. The garden products are very nutritious and tasty. I would be remiss if I didn’t lift up the owner and workers for their excellent service.
Lizzie King-Hall: A friendly family selling organic produce in an urban setting at great prices! What more could you want?
Jasmin Moore: The cleanest and best collards I've ever had!
Amanda Lindahl: The Young Family grow amazing produce in the heart of KC, MO. They’ve turned a vacant lot into a wonderful oasis of fresh and healthy veggies. Always teaching and sharing their wisdom too.
leigh taylor: Love having this available in midtown! They’ve got beautiful, fresh produce.
