Randy Eidson: I ordered through DoorDash and got The Mexican Burrito. It was loaded with Steak chunks! It also had fresh cilantro and onion. The flavor was great, covered in half red sauce half cheese sauce. This meal came with rice and beans, I was really impressed with the beans! My girlfriend got the Chicken Fajita Chimichanga, it was huge! Every bit as big as my burrito. The salsa was the best I have had in this area, fresh and flavorful.

Glenn A: First bite I could taste the salsa was bad. Like rotten, spoiled, contaminated bad. We asked for fresh and it came tasting just as foul. We didn't eat it, but ordered entrees anyway, I wish we hadn't. My wife and I were both sick, full-blown food poisoning, within an hour after eating. Disgusting. They should be shut down.

The service is phenomenal, food is A1 and it’s priced well. If you haven’t tried the food FIX YOUR LIFE. treat yo self, and enjoy some fire food and great company at QTP. Art Wallace: Been dying to try the place. Had the quesabirria with consome. And the charro beans. The tacos were excellent with the console. However the beans were so delicious that I ordered a pint to go. Everything was delivered smoking hot!. Give them a try if you are a fan of authentic Mexican food.
Darrell Bunger: Great little authentic experience. They have some relatively unique items on their menu that are really good. Impressed with their helpfulness and skill. Prices are on par or lower than the average - plus I've never seen a cheaper 5 crunchy taco pack anywhere else that's authentic at least.Will definitely return.

Alyssa Smith: I had previously rated this restaurant 5 stars and had kept it that way due to how amazing it usually is BUT today was horrible. Service was slow. The food was less than mediocre. I ordered nachos, hard to not get right, right? Well the hamburger tasted old, flavorless and dry. The volcan dip that I ordered and that came on my nachos was barely evident. We asked for a small side of volcan dip due to there being hardly any on my nachos, and was charged 6.99 for it. All 3 of our dishes tasted old as if they were leftovers from the lunch rush. We will never return to this restaurant, it's not worth it. Waste of time and money.

The food was hot, fresh, well-presented and delicious. The atmosphere was bright and colorful, the restaurant was clean. The only small negative I have is that the music was too loud, I believe it should have been lower so people could converse, maybe more like background music would have been better. This Mexican restaurant is one of our favorites.Kid-friendliness: My 2 year old grandson went with us, high chairs were available. The curb has a ramp. As someone who uses a cane I was able to easily get from the parking lot to the door without any obstacles.

Lynn Stewart: We had a Bachelorette party here (ate in costume before going to the real party). The service for a large party was great. The musicians serenaded the Bride to be and even took pics with us. The staff handled our craziness very well, the manager came by and offered her blessing too. The other diners were smiling and laughing as we all came in too. Everyone was fantastic. Oh, the food was great. The view of the lake out the window added to the fun and was beautiful to see. Corey McIntyre: We have not been to Salty Iguana in well over a year because we like trying all the different Mexican restaurants in the area. We just happened to be passing by so we stopped in. The food was terrible. I got the P.V.B and it tasted very bland. My lady got the Taco Plate which did not seem to be seasoned at all either. The beef was more or less just balled up and the cheese looked more like clumps of block cheese. We didn’t finish our food and did not want to even take it home.

Amanda May: Came in here Friday 6/2. Just a bad experience all around. The drink I ordered took around 20 minutes to be made and brought to my table and the restaurant was dead so it’s not like they were busy. Ordered some chips and an order of queso as an appetizer, well my mom and I’s entrees came out BEFORE we even received our chips and queso. The tortilla on my fish taco was ice cold. Never had such an awful experience here before and I’ve came to eat at this location more than a handful of times. The cherry on top of the sh*tty experience sundae? They have now charged my card three times for this transaction. :-) Definitely do NOT recommend coming here.

We were seated at a tiny table in the bar area even though they were not busy at all, and there were plenty of bigger tables in the main area. David Latlip: We have always liked this place, but something has changed for sure. First of all, they didn't have two of the beers they had on the menu.Second of all, the enchiladas I ordered weren't good at all. Then to top it off the booth I was in had a sharp object sticking out and poked a hole in my shorts. They only took $5 off my bill which paid for the beer I really didn't want. Get Miller Lite!
Sassi D: I am not sure what happened to this restaurant but unfortunately, the service has been very unsatisfactory the last two times we tried to eat here. The staff have been unusually impatient and gotten the order wrong as a result. We were dining in and I asked for hot water for tea and was given a styrofoam cup of lukewarm water instead. My husband ordered ice tea/ no ice and received a glass of ice water. I ordered a fish taco and received a small piece of lukewarm fish buried in cabbage inside a moist tortilla? Not once did the server offer options, clarify what the order did or did not include. When we attempted to ask about the order and convey our dissatisfaction, we were shown a menu. Not once did anyone make any effort to slow down and provide a measure of real customer service, show concern, or correct the order.The whole experience was disappointing and we will not return.The Casa Mexico in Blue Springs is excellent. Sadly, I cannot say that for the Independence location.
