National Frontier Trails Museum: what do users think?
Stephanie Hall: Great little tour, of some important American history! The building has been beautifully restored, and the tour is by donations !
Jim C: A wonderful museum and story worth telling of the pioneer history that started in Independence, MO.By understanding our history we can educate future generations. This museum needs the support of our City, State and Nation - NOW at a critical time in this Cities History to recognize it’s Past.
Jim Hink: This place is an embarrassing slight on Independence Missouri . Clearly, due to low visitors or some other number crunching #s, this place is Clearly low on a up keep priority. This town has such Pioneering, Oregon trail history, and the City Clearly dropped the ball on this place. Relying on mostly paper pamphlets and almost no radio, social media popups, or other routes to advertise in, this place could be so amazing!!! No covered wagons out front to take pictures on or look at , or other outside interactive activities to entice interaction and quriosity from visitor's. I believe the City may not be in touch with how much revenue they have, but sadly, it goes underutilized .
Kirk Coats CCC: cool place very knowledgeable
John Michael Thompson: The National Frontier Trails Museum is an exceptional institution that provides a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of the pioneering era in America. I recently had the opportunity to visit this museum, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The museum's layout is well-designed, guiding visitors through a chronological journey of the frontier trails that played a pivotal role in the westward expansion of the United States. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, offering a wealth of information and captivating artifacts that bring the history to life. One aspect that impressed me greatly was the museum's dedication to inclusivity and diversity. It recognizes and acknowledges the experiences of not only the European settlers but also the Native American tribes, African Americans, and other groups who had significant roles in the development of these trails. This comprehensive approach provides a well-rounded perspective of the era and fosters a deeper understanding of the complexities of the time. The museum offers a range of interactive displays, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the history. From simulated wagon rides to hands-on activities that replicate the challenges faced by the pioneers, there is something for everyone to engage with. The staff members are knowledgeable and passionate, readily available to answer questions and provide additional insights.Additionally, the National Frontier Trails Museum offers educational programs and special events that further enhance the visitor experience. These initiatives cater to a diverse audience, including students, families, and history enthusiasts, making the museum a valuable resource for both learning and entertainment. In conclusion, the National Frontier Trails Museum is a gem that showcases the pioneering spirit of the American West. Its well-curated exhibits, interactive displays, and commitment to inclusivity create an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages. Whether you have a deep interest in history or simply want to explore a fascinating chapter of America's past, this museum is a must-visit destination.
T Dwayne W: Having grown up on the west coast I have always been fascinated with the westward expansion of America during the 1800s. This museum definitely tells that story. The museum exhibits are laid out perfectly and informative. Learned about the other trails (Santa Fe trail) and what it was like for the travelers through their journals/letters on that are on display. I was actually surprised to hear that over 90 percent of the travelers made it.Highly recommend this museum to anyone who loves America history!

Verlee Gilkerson: If you have never visited you absolutely put it on your places to visit! The WW1 Museum encompasses the history leading into the war to the final Signing of the Versailles Peace Agreement. I just can't list all you see. Be prepared to do a lot of walking, stair climbing, and wandering. If you are thinking of doing the tower it has an elevator BUT then there are 45 steps to get to the very top! Plan a half day to make sure you can see the videos, exhibits and read the information. There is a lower level as well.
Kevin Cox: The WWI museum is fantastic! It is definitely a must-see. The view from the tower is pretty awesome as well. Greg Slaten: Visited in May, 2023. Nestled in Kansas City, Missouri, the WW1 Memorial and Museum is a fantastic sightseeing spot to experience. The memorial opened in 1926 and is the United States' official memorial and museum dedicated to World War 1. It rests upon a plateau that overlooks Kansas City. From the top of the memorial you will have amazing views of the surrounding area, including downtown Kansas City. For a small fee, you can go to the top of the tower for more breathtaking views. The tower is over 200 feet tall. If you are able bodied, a short walk away is Union Station and Crown Center. A short distance more is the Power and Light District. Local historic restaurant, Town Topic, is nearby as well. You can easily see all of these places in a few hours or make the area an all-day outing. The WW1 Memorial includes the Liberty Memorial Mall and parks in the surrounding area. When the National Football League held their player draft in 2023 in Kansas City, they included the entire WW1 Memorial and parks as well as Union Station. Over 300,000 people attended that NFL draft and were comfortably accommodated. If you are going to be in KC or are passing through KC, I highly recommend carving out a little bit of time to enjoy this experience.Price for entry: $6.00

I: a great place to take kids, but watch them very closely - the exhibits are so crammed together and it's such a small space that even adults not paying attention could easily back off a step and get seriously hurt. also, several of the exhibits are very worn. for as cheaply as they could be repaired and for as much money as is rolling through the place, I don't understand why they allow the exhibits to look so ratty. but, the Ames room, the leaning room, the vertigo tunnel and the head on a plate are worth the price of admission alone. a good time, but could be a lot better.

Tanya Mosley: If I could give zero I would. I booked my time slot over 2 weeks in advance (March 14th for a reservation on April 2nd). Someone booked after me and booked the entire museum so on 3/27/23, Alex called me to inform me of this and that they were going to have to reschedule my time or refund me because someone booked the entire museum for 10:10 and my reservation was for 10:00. They should have not allowed the party to book since there were reservations already during that time. This is terrible customer service. I asked for a supervisor and Alex stated she will have one call me back. Then during the conversation she stated she was the supervisor. Then stated she was the manager and even went as far as to say she is the General manager. I insisted on speaking to someone in regards to the terrible customer experience I have had because of this. When my family goes on vacation, we book our reservations to fill up the time while we are on vacation. This has caused my family to now find something else to do in the time that we had this planned. Hope they have better customer service for those that actually visit there facility.

Antwan Johnson: The bridge it's self was cool. My family and I walked the path behind it for maybe 10 minutes to see where it went and we got back to the bridge covered in ticks... Thank God we caught them before we got in the car.
bryce null: Great date idea
Kent Seaton: Such an interesting look back in time. I remember driving over this bridge years ago. Nice to see they turned it into a park.
Ryesha Gillespie: Wide open park with beautiful views. Nice play area for kids, fun facts about the historic trails. Love Bridge sweetest and most fun way to express your love with a lock and a key or combination.
Jennifer Jones: This was an amazing beautiful experience. ❤️
Mike Radabaugh: This is the original Red Bridge of Red Bridge Road. The Railroad stopped Fire Trucks from using this rout frequent enough KCMO built a new Bridge. Left this beautiful Bridge to be a fun place to watch the water go by.
Lia Neeley: So neat to look at all the locks and to add our own
Heather Smith: A lot has changed over the years.
Sara Enriquez: It is really nice but needs some maintenance, it has graffiti, paint in some locks, and lots of trash in the lake
Bradley Stites: Look no further, Chad at Mohawks locks can get you taken care of for all you auto locksmith needs.
Scooter Jackson: Love this place. My wife found this place thru Google maps. We have been here 2 times and we have left 2 locks
Brandon Rivera: This place didn’t disappoint. We got here after it down-poured with some fresh snow so it was kind of cool. It’s what you make it. So make it special.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
Victoria Ross: This bridge is such a great little romantic spot! It’s clean and not crowded at all. My fiancé and I put our love lock on the bridge during the pandemic. We returned to the same spot in October 2022 and I proposed to my guy…he said yes! Then November 12th, 2022 he proposed to me at our home. Now we are considering exchanging our vows at the same spot on the Love Locks Bridge in the near future! 💍❤️
E. I. Brown: A truly surreal and liminal space. I could have stayed there all day looking at all the different locks, reading them, thinking about the history behind each one. There are even a few LGBTQ+ locks if you look closely enough. It truly felt like I was in another place.Wait time 30–60 min Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
