Clevenger Metal Detector Sales: what do users think?
Wes Promnitz: The pics and reviews found on Google do not do justice for this fine small business! I stopped in today and couldn’t have been more pleased with the neat conversation and knowledge shared by the owner. He primarily carry’s Garrett but he had a few Equinoxes in stock and a fairly decent supply of digging tools and pin pointers. The highlight for me was the vast array of old books in stock covering everything from gold panning and MDing to lost treasure by state and coin/button identification books, etc. Talk about a store lost to time and yet full of new technology at fantastic prices. Totally worth stopping in if your into the hobby!
Bob Lemon: I've done business with Chuck for at least 30 years. He's always been fair and treated me well. Hopefully we both have 30 more years left in us !!!@@
Godshock: Really cool unique little shop that's right ought the past. Unique little places like this are quickly becoming a slice of America that's gone forever. The owner knows His stuff because Hes a detector....You can order online but you'll miss out on the unique items, the cool nostalgic feel and probably a very cool conversation. You cant ask Amazon great places to detect in Kansas or the difference between coils. Do yourself a favor and go check out Clevengers and pick up an awesome hobby at the same time...
BOYD CODDINGTON JR.: Horrible, absolutely terrible customer service. Had narrowed my metal detecting choices down to either a minelab vanquish 340 or the Garrett Ace 300. Went in with the intentions to purchase the Garrett ace 300 metal detector. He was $52 higher in price than High Plains Detectors and others so, I asked him if it that was the best price he could do, his attitude changed fir the worst and he all but kicked me out of his store. told me basically to leave the store and to go buy the Minelab because he wouldn’t sell me the Garrett.I was unaware the metal detecting business was so good you can just throw your customers out of your store for asking to price match or for a better deal.
Christine Rivera: The owner is so nice and knowledgeable! Bought a new Garrett for less than online prices and he gave a demo. He does not try to upsell you. He's honest! I love this store. Going back today or tomorrow for a pin pointer as I lost mine camping. He's also got an an incredible supply of stone jewelry that is beautiful. Bought gorgeous wind chime from there too! Lots of great stuff at excellent prices!!! Highly recommend!
Steve Wilson: I love this shop and I don't even own a metal detector. He's been in business for as long as I can remember. Great selection of rocks & geodes.
Jeremy Dial: Old man's real cool in there. Very sincere about this business willing to help
Tom Servo (78): The owner is an older gentleman that still has old detectors from the 70's when the hobby first started taking off. He has thousands of his finds on display and knows detectors inside and out. If you're new to the hobby he has a small turf area to demonstrate the different tones that different density materials make. Very helpful, answers questions, and has lower end up to high end detectors, mainly Garrett brand. Enthusiast owned, decent prices.
Paul Sommers: Very helpful in explaining the differences between the metal detectors. His prices were far below the online price.
Matthew Wilson: Bought a metal detector from bass pro shop couldn't find anything after a day of use and brought it back. Bought another detector fron there after detecting my property i found a few penny's. Went to Clevenger and the owner helped me pick out the right detector i eanted a $700 one he talked me into a $200 one said it would do what i needed. Surprised he didn't try and sell me the pricier one. Got home and found 40 coins where i had allready detected with both the other bass pro detectors multiple times. I 100% recommend this store. Super helpful.
Tim Horton: Very helpful, bought 2 detectors in 3 weeks, Better prices then the internet.
Sonny Dryer: I've bought many Detectors from Chuck, including my very first one. Always a Pleasant experience. haven't been there in years, but I've talked to him on the phone a few times, and he's still as pleasant and knowledgeable as ever.....
Savvy Spaulding: Woman and I visited yestetday for a Lesche digging tool and a book. The guy was polite, friendly and eager to answer questions we had. Was happy driving away with what we needed and know where to go if we need something else down the road.
Jeremy: Nice little place for all of your metal detecting needs. Prices are great as well.
