Golden Living Community - Independence Chateau: what do users think?
Mary Ann Hogan: Keep your loved ones as far as possible from this awful 'home.' It should have raised my suspicions when they had 2 empty suites and during my weekend visit with my parents from out of town. By the time I left in a few days, another one was empty because a resident moved out. Now three suites empty, while the other VA approved facility had a long, long waiting list. My mother was admitted as being able to take care of herself and (supposedly) able to get up and walk out in an emergency or fire drill. She had been incontinent for 3 years and couldn't stand up for the past 3 years without considerable help. I guess this facility wanted the $$ so badly they decided to take her. As soon as she was admitted they immediately began to shame her for her incontinence, her inability to get out of a seated position without help, and for how much work their staff had to devote to her. I visited a few weeks after she was admitted and the experience remains a living nightmare in my mind. The staff, and even the women who were seated at her assigned dining table, shunned her. Golden Living Assisted Living drained her pre-paid 3 months and then evicted her. 3 months of shame, and threats. ("If you can't GET up and GET out of your chair and WALK out to the parking lot you will be THROWN out of here!" was yelled repeatedly in her face.) I know that my sibling really wanted her to be in this awful place for reasons of his own, but it's the facilities responsibility to follow procedures to admit only qualified residents. If they had even followed the most basic procedures for her admittance she wouldn't have been put through hell. Basic procedures could have saved my mother from 3 months of verbal abuse and humiliation at 94 years of age. She died in the following months at the neighboring Golden Living Nursing home which was, at least, fit for her needs.
Carla Scott: My Mother has been living in Assisted Living for over 6 years and she considers it her home. She has been well taken care of with dignity. I never knew a gentleman named Mac in the above review and I think I would know since its only a 20 bed facility. Visit this facility for yourself or your loved one.
Mac Thomas: My dear father was placed here by hospice for respite care for my mother. He was 89 years old and had just celebrated 68 years of marriage to my mother. Within 24 hours of arrival, his $2,000. engraved, wedding band was stolen, he received a rough and cold shower from an aide and went into a depression. We filed a police report on the stolen ring, filed a complaint with the facility and hospice and Dad was brought home and cared for by hospice his remaining days. Back to the ring; though we were able to determine who stole the ring (she took it off of him in the cold shower), and have witnesses to state he was wearing the ring when he arrived, receipts from the jeweler, the facility is still denying the claim after Dad's death and two months of reminders for my mother, having to fight the insurance.DO NOT trust these people with your loved one. They do not take responsibility for anything. You might as well put your loved one in a cold basement. If I could have given this place ZERO stars, I would have, but I had to give one, just to put this review in.

Independence Station: what do users think?
Ally Rudolph: Horrible roads, trashy looking houses, lot rent is way to high and goes up every year, parents don’t supervise their rude unruly children, broke down cars everywhere, what’s the purpose of signing a lease agreement if they don’t I force the rules!
Chris Ellington: Haha. What a joke this park is. I've emailed 3 times in the last week with no response. I have a down payment of $20000 ready to buy and they won't contact me back. I want pictures. I want details about some used homes to be ready when I come into the city. I think I'm going to have to go elsewhere. Oh my. I've just scrolled through other reviews. If it is as bad as some of these people say, I think I dodged a bullet here. Especially with the canned, cut and paste responses. Actually, I've heard about them jacking up lot rent every year without any improvements and was willing to overlook that. But, nah. I respectfully decline..
Tissha Turner: Independence station in Missouri would be a great place to live if they didn't allow people with violent warrants to live there like the renter lance wall has a girlfriend living at his residence Amanda Son who has outstanding warrants for domestic violence. I've informed the office about this and the fact that they have a almost 100 pound dog there with no shots at all but the office doesn't seem to care. 21608 east 3rd street drive. Allowing this at your park is putting everyone in the park in danger
Serrina Lyn: Holy over priced batman! If you can afford one of these trailers you're farther ahead to buy a house, your mortgage would be tons cheaper. Granted they're nice places but holy cow!!!! $1100+ on monthly rent and then still have to pay for all utilities. No thanks.
Blake Holt: I will first come out and say that Independence Station is a decently quiet place to live. HOWEVER, the roads are complete and utter garbage. They hike the lot rent YEARLY with little to no show to where the money goes. (It sure as hell doesn't go back into the community!) A volunteer group has started up recently and with community repairs and concerns, are told that any improvements that residents request have to either come out of resident or volunteer group's pockets. (Including cleaning up the trails to the "state of the art" (Yeah right....) tornado shelter. Which I believe is the problem of the park itself!) My husband and I have lived here almost 8 years now and we have seen FOUR (4) community managers come and go. At least 2 of them were fired. And, NUMEROUS associates and office assistants. As for the more recent community employees. They are AWESOME! Debbie, Seirra, Jill, Geoff, and Walker are amazing, friendly, and listen to concerns. They will go above and beyond to help out when they are available and needed! Unfortunately, they are LIMITED on what the regional manager and corporate will allow them to do. Hence, when our home is paid off. We plan on getting the hell out of here! It has progressively gotten worse over time and we are tired of it. The ONLY reason I give them 3 stars is simply because of the current office staff! Otherwise, I would only give 1..
Gregory Jackson: Staff was friendly, they informed of current homes available and walk through a few of the options. I will be looking forward to becoming a resident.
Marcus Meriwether: My super hot pot dealer lives here!
Terrie Ingram: High application fee. They take forever with the background check. You have to call them every day and consider your self lucky if someone answers the phone. For a yes community they sure like to say no. Nice trailer park but definitely not worth what they are asking. Oh who am I kidding.... I really wanted to live there😑
Steven Hitch: Garage sales 😂
Paul Morton: Love the trailer park that my friend and her family moved into a couple of months ago.
Alyssa Sanders: EDIT TO ADD; I have called the resident relations dept several times, you get a recording to leave a message and then get no response, also, it shouldn’t take me calling an out of state number to get my basic lease policies enforced.**Edit complete: I am a homeowner within this “community”, lived here about 3 ish years and things continuously go downhill. Our lot rent is raised annually and the grounds or roads here are not properly maintained. We pay $500 a month in lot rent and cannot see where it’s going. This has been a big issue in the winter time as we have a lot of large steep hills throughout. A lot of the little lease policies that are in place are not enforced unless the manager decides she wants to enforce them. Things such as street parking(we have very narrow roads), off leash animals(only an issue when the particular animal bites, which we have had issues with), to basic things such as the pool being open on time or being shut down multiple times per week for entire days or needing to visit the office during hours of operation and can’t because no one is there. The management here seems to have zero integrity as they do not keep their word( GET EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING IN WRTING if you ignore my review LOL), They seem to like to provide the resident relations number, but you can call and leave 20 messages and get no reply, resident relations doesn’t care either. I regret buying a home in this park 100%, the community owners do not care about your comforts or satisfaction, just their pockets. This has gotten to the point where I have had to consider filing against them in court bcuz they won’t enforce lease policies in THIER OWN LEASE! Literally the manager shrugs her shoulder and says nothing she can do. Take your money and give it to a community that will put back into it and actually cares bcuz independence station doesn’t care about respect, honor, integrity, none of that. When I did rent from them, getting maintenance to fix anything was impossible, I had to hire an electrician that was literally electrocuted in my home. The maintenance staff is nice but the community manager won’t let them do their jobs! They have more interest in maintaining and renovating the office than they do customers who pay $1200 a month to live here. Slumlord capital for sure! Also utility workers bury trash instead of picking it up, this place has turned trashy ghetto
Jamie Wright: I'm waiting to see if I'd be able to move here. My little girls would love it here! They are exceptionally excited about the pool and playground! I think this would be a great and safe community for my girls.
Lisa Price: We've been here for 1 1/2 years. Don't need much done but been waiting on for a year now for a new front storm door because it was bent before we moved in. Nothing seems to be getting done about it. We put it in & maintenance has told manger several times about this
Kevin Ryan “KCLoud816” Treece: Make sure you do a proper inspection of the home before you move yourself and or family. I have seen some pretty horrible mobile homes that have been polished up.
T-Eazy90: We shall see how they handle problemsUpdate 3 weeks later still in the same dump!!! Independence station is run by liars and thiefs! I've been lied to for months now about the black mold issue here and completely taken advantage of, avoid this place the manager is a crook and completely incompetent. Don't fall for any of the lies or false promises. Even going above the management here didn't get anything done.. now I have to pay a lawyer to run this place through the mud, I wish I could give no starsHere we are 5 months into this deal, black mold infestation, unlicensed contractors, false promises, and still not relocated as promised. Now the regional manager dodges calls! What joke AVOID THIS DUMP!!
David Whitworth: Clubhouse is mock up of Southfork ranch
Jessica Drake: I love this place have been here almost a year. The gals upfront are amazing andore than just office ladies. It's peaceful and cozyJessica Carneal
James Carneal: Great management and very friendly people all around! For the year me and my Wife have been here we love it!
Margaret Stroud: Visited friend
Shawn Morris: Place is terrible. Our shed was broke into 3 times and our car once
Khary: Entrance is inviting, landscaping seems to be well maintained but I did see a lot of stray cats roaming around, excessive amount of dog feces around trailers , car parts and whatever else you can imagine behind trailers.

Historic Truman Courthouse: what do users think?
Sarah Mitchell: Plan to wait all day to be served. My daughter and I both arrived at 9 a.m. and waited in line for nearly 2 hours, only to be told once we reached the front that we would be put in a queue. There were 52 people ahead of us, and we received a text telling us what our place in line was. We were told to head back to the courthouse when we had 8 people ahead of us. Well ... at 4:40 p.m. and 13 people ahead of us, we arrived back to the courthouse. However, we were told we'd been taken out of the queue and would have to come back another day and start all over. Absolutely terrible. If this is how things are done, online options need to be made available. We wasted an entire day off work and got none of our very important personal property business accomplished.
Ericka Porter: Very long wait! If you are coming to handle property taxes, they open at 8am but you should arrive by 7:15/7:30am to get in line. You have to wait in the line and get out in queue. I arrived at 8:25am and was in line outside for just over an hour and a half. I ended up being #39 once I made it inside. I then waited for 3 hours for it to be my turn. You can set up to have text notifications when your number is coming up so you can at least sit in your car and wait. Once it was my turn, it took about 20-25 minutes to do what I needed and get done. The bathrooms were also out of order and they had porta potties outside instead.
Norfolk N. Waypal: Ugh. I got there at 7 am to add a vehicle, and I was 6th in line. By the time they opened at 8, there were 50 plus waiting. They are listed on the qless app, but you cant use it. It always says closed. The receptionist likes to interrupt and talk over you to ask exactly what I was trying to say when she interrupted. Once I got through the line it took about 45 minutes. If i had known about the vehicle inspections and complicated taxes, I would never have moved to Missouri.
BrookLynn Bruce: If you plan to see the assessor they tell you to arrive between 8-10am to get your “spot” but I would recommend being out there at 6-7am in the morning maybe 5-530am if you don’t want to be there ALL day long. I went today at 9am, stood in line until 10am before I made it to the lady at the front of the line asking everyone what they were there for. I thought once getting to her I was in & ready to go. I had no idea at that point I would be given a # & had 52 in front of me. I didn’t sit down with the assessor until exactly 415pm. I missed an entire day of work. Towards the end of the day I was able to secure a seat inside to sit. No privacy for anyone coming in to handle their business. It can all be heard out in the open by the man or woman at the desk. I sat & heard many people complain that they are tax payers & can’t even get in to handle their business unless they come early & even then people were turned away after so many people checked in. It’s unbelievable how they are running it. Terrible actually.
Edith Serrano: Muy mala atención una morena no nos quiso dar información de lo que andábamos haciendo y nos saco muy feo del lugar y no permitió que mi esposo le explicará lo que necesitaba.
TREELIE W: Poor management
Thomas Owens: Went to take care of my personal property taxes. Was there at 8:30 A.M.Did not git done until 3:15 P.M.
ScroatBagGarage: The vicarious incompetency actions by the director of the Recorder of Deeds, Diana Smith who knew or should had known that shutting down access to the Recorder of Deeds during the plumbing issue at the Historic Truman Courthouse (week of 03/06 - 03/10 2023) with no reasonable remedy for someone to pick up their marriage license would cause significant financial and stressful consequences. Complete lack of leadership and common sense.,Long story short, I took our daughter and her fiancé who had an appointment to pick up marriage license 03/06 (mon) after completing the online app the week before when we saw the notice on the door: Closed till 03/08 (wed), ok plenty of time, wedding 03/11 (sat). Now closed 03/09 (thr), 03/10 (fri) and no way to reach a human on the phone as they are all enjoying a week off. Wedding had to be postponed, venue had to be changed, food had to be changed, entertainment changed and moved 2 weeks later, tell me that's practical and not expensive! After I called numerous times unsuccessfully able to reach any human or receive any direction, I drove again to the historic courthouse to see if there was any updated notes posted on the door or someone with any updates how to get answers. Nothing, no one, nada, zilch, buzzttt (game show wrong answer buzzer sound). Just another note saying closed the rest of the week.A reasonable person would believe it should had been handled by, a reasonable accommodation; by closing tax side, keeping Recorder of Deeds open, bring in porta-pottys for employees and place outside building. Leave sign saying no restrooms. Allow business to continue at RofD office (they are a low traffic department anyway). Allowing marriage license's to be picked up as scheduled. Have phone numbers that actually go to a human so you can get direction instead of ring/no answer and automated loops.Complete failure by the director of the RofD office, perhaps her position should be re evaluated. Imagine the legal remedies if you could get around the sovereign immunity shield.

The woman who helped me was hateful, practically yelled at me, asked inane questions and then got upset at my responses, and overall proved in word and deed how much she hates being a civil servant.

Midwest Manufactured Home Community: what do users think?
matthew Dwier: Clean nice room
Poisonous Fog: Great community to live
Brandi Lasure: This seemed very rundown and dark. Didn't feel very safe
Shelly Livengood: Wonderful management and staff great place to live.
michelle cox: Looks a little rundown in a little ghetto and raggedy but I don't know I don't live there
PaperHearts: Wish I could give this place a better review. The staff is friendly, however they never answer the phone at the office. Anytime I had something wrong with my place I had to continuously try to contact them for weeks. The neighbors on the side where I lived is what really drove me out of this place. I had to call the police about 10 times within a year and a half of living there. The neighbors are very obnoxious and will keep you awake at night. We told staff about it countless times and they continued to ignore everyone's complaints. At one point they were even stealing from other peoples lawns. The trailers looks nice, but they are made very cheaply and things break at the touch of your finger. If you guys enjoy listening to teens scream and yell outside, rev up motorcycles all night long, staff that doesn't really care, drunk people coming up to your house and barging in to sit in your living room, then this is the place for you.
Aaron Alvarez: Very expensive. No updates and alot of older homes with no parking. Or sidewalks. Just mobile homes in a park. Nothing special.
Mark Griggs: Immediately/Urgently Replace Management (Denise)is 100% Worthless and Not doing anything for the Property or the Residents/ Community at All!!!! Sarah Merritt: Great people
Tabatha Barr: My familys spot
Catherine Raines: This place is getting worse and worse. I use to like it but its gone to hell. Nobody cares office management has to go. She is rude and none helpful. We are leaving and so are a few other people we know. If I was anyone reading this I wouldn't take a second look.
Shelly Campbell-Butcher: Just bought my home was very nice and easy to do!
tyeler wright: Myra and Denise were wonderful! Super easy process and a splendid team. The park is full of decent folk. It's a great place to live!
Juston Harper: Clean, nice and centrally located
Shawn Kinne: Good plies
Brandon Beth: Piss poor management
David DeNoyer, RN: I am glad they have new management, but they still have a long way to go to clean up the neighborhood and improve the quality of its residents.
Dwayne S: Seen a guy almost hit with a truck funny!!
the life of puppets: I live HERE. DON'T DO IT... The yards have been destroyed and not fixed my water has been frozen 4 times and they won't put it under ground where it goes. The Mud omg The mud is awful.i get "o we will fix it "and NOTHING. The last straw really was when they cut my internet line, neither the company that's doing it nor the mgr seem to care ... even when they were told 'hey you cut my line" they LITERALLY JUST KEpT GOING.AND just like that. Boom everyones internet is out.

They had nicely displayed signs so you could read about inmates that were there and get more of a history feel.
