Kindred Hospice: what do users think?
Miles Hartley: Alex and team always responds quickly and will jump thru whatever hoop it takes to help get the patient what they need. They are great group to work with.
Angi Payne: When they first arrived, we thought, "finally, someone is here to help!" Boy, were we wrong! There was no clear communication at all! Their nurse, kathy, would tell my sister and I completely different information about our grandmother's medications than she would discuss with our dad. They also told us they would accept my dad's DNR decision for her as next of kin, when come to find out, that's illegal if the patient is at home, and not in a hospital. We were told we would get a communication chart, and after a month, we finally found one ourselves. Kathy was very condescending every time she spoke to us. My family had the flu, and I couldn't get my 5 year old to take his Tamiflu, and kathy told me I should give it to him rectally! I'm pretty sure a hospice nurse isn't supposed to give medication administration advice to people who aren't their patients! (that's not how suppositories work, anyway!) I sent kathy a picture of a bruise on my grandma I was concerned about, and she then proceeded to tell me she witnessed my uncle hit my grandma TWO DAYS BEFORE and that she is a mandated reporter, and she can't see that happen again. I told her if she is a mandated reporter, she should've reported it. She's not there for my uncle. She is there for my grandma. I asked my sister (who was standing there when it happened) what she saw, and she said he smacked my grandma's hands down when she was hitting my sister (grandma is combative.). When kathy came to the house for a meeting WE ASKED FOR with the social worker, she sat at our table, and spoke AT us, and proceeded to tell us every way that WE were effing up, AND she full force SMACKED my dad in the arm and tried to convince us that was how my uncle hit my grandma! (Mind you, this woman bruises if you even look at her sideways.) Yet, not a single bruise on her arm. It took 4 days to get the results of a UA! When we decided to fire them, they had two different people try to take my grandma's walker, when we bought and paid for that a couple years prior to even hiring them! They refused to send the transfer papers to the new hospice until the following Monday, and then had the audacity to call the division of family services hotline number on us! Your nurse kathy needs to be hotlined! This company should be ashamed of themselves. I had two different nurses cringe when I mentioned my grandma being with this company! Also, and this has nothing to do with medical care capabilities, but if you are in someone's home, and you see MSNBC on their tv, the last thing that family wants to hear are your racist opinions on immigration, that you feel you need to share with a man who is just there to deliver furniture!I would like to say, their nurse, gwen, is lovely!! She should go to a better company, and this place should be shut down!
Catherine Stark: They are very understanding and compassionate for the patient and family.
Helen Lakey: Amazing staff. They listen to our concers & needs. No decsions are made without my concent.
Jordan Wright: Always the nicest staff!
Tina Chamberlain: They kept my father in law drugged up on morphine all the time. We had to get rid of their services. NOT A GOOD COMPANY

Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care: what do users think?
Danielle DiCapua: Crossroads Hospice cared for my Mother in her final weeks. Initially in her home; they quickly realized and convinced her- as we’d previously tried to do, that she was not able to be home without round the clock care and had her moved to a Respite Facility in the interim, before being moved permanently. Every nurse we encountered, each Social worker, each CNA was kind, gentle, compassionate, patient, supportive, knowledgeable- they even allowed and contributed to my family’s sense of humor along the way- which we loved and needed! I could go on and on. My mother passed on Sunday and they were fabulous. They even went to bat for her with the respite facility’s staff who were resistant to the care my mother required. Thank you Crossroads. You have a wonderful team! You made our life-changing experience more tolerable and better overall. THANK YOU!Special commendations to Joyce-social worker, Jenny-RN, Jamie-RN, Tasha, Brittany, brandy, Ericka CNAs
Robin Hess: It’s been almost 5 years since we signed with Crossroads Hospice. My mom died in her home with her 4 daughters at bedside. We called twice for an RN around 8 pm, when her condition indicated she was actively dying, and called again later in the evening when no one had showed. She took her last breath a few minutes after midnight- the nurse arrived a half hour later- no apology or explanation for the lack of response. It made me so angry at the time that I had to be the nurse for my mom, and console and explain what was happening to my sisters, all the while trying to manage my own emotions. I’ve come to accept it, and hoped our abysmal experience was an outlier for Crossroads, but not so sure after reading the other sad stories here.
amy robinson: Nurse and aides were hit and miss when showing up. My mother went a week with out a shower nobody showed up. Complained nothing changed. Always short of help and nurses. Discharged my mom from hospice because she "no longer qualified". Documentation was not done properly. When they discharged her the had it down that she was able to complete tasks by herself. Absolutely not she has late stage dementia. She can not do anything for herself. Now 9 months later the Dr is recommending hospice again she her decline is even more and we are unable to get her qualified again and are having to wait for more documentation because of this company. I would not recommend crossroads for anything.
Rhonda Clark: Crossroads is absolutely the best hospice care you can get.
Diana Jester: If I could give negative stars I would my mom can't do anything for herself her own primary dr wants her to stay on hospice but crossroads discharged her to palliative without putting a plan in place so equipment companies are trying to remove her oxygen, wheelchair, bed etc with nothing to replace it. Horrible at keeping appointments, bath aide never shows up etc joke operation
John Robertson: They do take good care of you and the whole family
Heather Jeannell: Toward the end when they should of been there more they were hardly there and always in a hurry to leave. My dads a big man we had trouble getting him rolled over and changed and they said call if we need anything then when my mom called woman was rude and told her look we cant keep coming out just to change him. He died the next day....They told us stop giving certain meds. Stop feeding him. We just had to watch him suffer because it was aninconvenience of then to come out. The morning the death rattle started we called for 3 hrs and no one came moments before he passed. We are traumatized and it was so unfair. I thought when patients progressed they would be there.
Jorden Binkley: I have nothing but good things to say about Crossroads Hospice. Finding caring people to take care of a loved one during their final moments in life is scary and is an important decision. They took such good care of my sweet Nanna. They have the best communication between families and their team. They were so kind and caring during Nanna’s last days & have the best support for families that are going through difficult losses, they knew exactly what they were doing. We are SO grateful to have such caring people to take care of Nanna. They even came to her visitation. 💖
Lightbright19 Turner: Diana Adams is very rude and terrible she raised her voice at me becus she said she sent me the email for the address and she never did so i called her awhile ago and she raised her voice at me and she was so nasty nasty ima pray for that bih thou ... I hope you never get another application in ever again until you retire ...
Andrette Prather: Our family was extremely pleased with the care, kindness, efficiency, and all around care we received from Crossroads for our Dad. Initially we started with palliative care, however as Dads health decreased we transitioned to home hospice. Our nurses provided information and answered all of our questions. I would strongly recommend.
Dia J: Well....had to use kansas city hospice years ago for other family member. They were horrible and swore never again. Now need hospice again for another family member. Was inundated with calls at first from nurses aids, chaplains and social workers. But now am seeing the real side. Promised services not done, cant get meds, nurses don't show up when promised. I need these meds NOW for my loved one I am trying to care for. This company needs to reevaluate their help. This is not fair for sick terminal patients in distress!!
See Moore: Lied about visits, ignored impending death, terrible. Still having nightmares.
Mattie Curp: From the first interview at the hospital, they make it all sounds great. Then nothing, Cancelled visits, no communication, fight to get meds on time. One bath in 3 weeks. I’m in tears, no guidance for medication.Worst experience ever
Christine Casey: One of the best hospice! They believe in patient care and are they for not just the patient but the family!
Beverley Hodge: Disappointed say they're going to come and they don't or it's 24 hours later. During initial admissions said all things they would do and would help with, we've had to do most of the work.
C G: I contacted Crossroads Hospice and scheduled an in person meeting with the Admission’s nurse who arrived about 15 minuets late for our meeting. During the 1 hour meeting the nurse outlined all services available and required by law. After reviewing all the paperwork the Crossroads admissions nurse mentioned that transfer papers are required since I previously contracted with another hospice agency and to not worry they would obtain transfer paperwork from the previous hospice agency. We agreed to meet the following week at the same location to finalize signing the paperwork. I asked if there was anything else I should do, should I handle obtaining transfer paperwork, I asked if I could download them and have the other agency sign. I again was told by the nurse that Crossroads would handle obtaining the transfer papers and ALL other paperwork and we would schedule a second meeting to sign transfer paperwork including a new contract. I was told they (Crossroads) would contact the other agency within 24 hours and a Crossroads care team member would be contacting me soon. After several days I did not hear back from Crossroads only to hear from the previous agency that papers had not been signed to complete the process of transferring the service to Crossroads. I called back to Crossroads and asked for the admissions nurse I met with only to be told “he is not available, he is only the field admissions rep” and I need to obtain and sign transfer paperwork. The intake person (Natalie) at Crossroads said I must have been given the wrong information by their admissions nurse. After much back and forth I begin to second guess using Crossroads explaining my concern for not receiving correct information from the admissions nurse, especially since I asked several times during our in person meeting if I needed to obtain the paperwork. I mentioned to Natalie that this is not a good start and decided to continue to search for another hospice agency for my father. I need an agency that provides compassion and is knowledgeable. I don’t need further frustration.
Heather Luna: My aunt just passed away and crossroads came in for just 2 days but Every person that came through our door was amazing. Can not say a bad thing about the people that came out to help in this difficult time. But thank you for your amazing workers and company! I would recommend you to everyone.
Lauren Furgala: Where to begin. I would like to wholeheartedly thank Crossroads and their team, specifically Trisha, Amanda, Corey (and there was another gal I spoke with that I can't remember - she was the one that got the ball rolling for me and my father). My father was very sick in Illinois with the anticipation of transferring him out to KCMO to stay with me. Everyone at Crossroads went out of their way to ensure our transition would be as smooth as humanly possible. Trisha answered my bombardment of emails at all hours of the day and night. RN Amanda promptly called me after hours and reassured me that the care plan I had for my father was ideal and exactly what they would be providing, as I was not very happy with his hospital care or care team in Illinois. Every conversation I had with anyone at Crossroads alleviated a giant amount of stress on our family in this time and for once, I was able to feel some relief and sense that "this is the right and best thing for my dad." Unfortunately, my father passed before we made it to Kansas City - yet still, Crossroads (Trisha and Amanda) reached out to me after his passing, continuing to offer me and my family services during another difficult time. You are all Saints for what you do, and I am grateful our paths crossed when it did. Thank you all.
Serenity Mask: I've worked hand in hand with Crossroads in the past. They are compassionate, understanding and dedicated to helping their clients and their families. I would recommend them any day, out of the dozen or so similar companies I've worked with.
Debra Bishop: My sister has an Angel named Karen, her hospice nurse. This woman is a blessing .My sister's care has been wonderful. I hope all families with a loved one on hospice care, get a nurse like Karen . My sister Shirley loves her nurse Karen W. Thank you for giving my sister the best care she could get . Sincerely,Debbie Bishop
Lesley Steinert: Great place!!!

Good Shepherd Hospice: what do users think?
Jeremy Jaeger: My mother inlaw was a client with good shepherd hospice for almost 2 years. She had a bogus diagnosis of advanced terminal Alzheimer's. Good shepherd hospice always changed nurses and case managers never staying consistent for more than 2weeks time. Their aid was lazy and preferred to stand around gossiping for half an hour before even saying hello to the client. When giving the bath she "accidently" water boarded my mother in law. At this point my wife just took care of the baths and house work and meal preparation and so on. After 9 months or so she had improved exponentially and we began questioning her diagnosis and requesting and inquiring about physical therapy and things of that nature. They reassured us often that Alzheimer's is such a tricky disease and that she was declining and not getting any better ever. My mother inlaw had lost all muscle mass in her legs and had developed drop foot in both feet during her time with the good shepherd hospice. I should also mention that she was never able to receive the most important supplies the company was billing medicare for and their e she didn't need them or they were on back order.. oh and they were also billing medicare to pay the employees for service's my wife provided .in 2 years our family never once spoke with a Dr and the director never called or stopped by simply to ask us how things were going. Then out of no where the social worker and a nurse drop in to tell us that mother in law was no longer a candidate for hospice and gave us a little booklet which we already got at price chopper and told us good luck figuring things out. And never called after the discharge to see how we had adjusted. These people are crooks and thieves and do not care about a person's life but how they could profit from their end of life. These were just a few issues we experienced with the good shepherd hospice.
Morgan Pratt: Love them all! Such a great company. They truly care.
Mindy Vargas: The mother of a good friend of mine needed hospice care, and they used Good Shepherd. They had nothing but wonderful things to say about their dealings with Good Shepherd. The compassion that they received from everyone they dealt with was a blessing, and her mom was able to be in her own home for her final days.
Justin Whitlatch: I've had the great pleasure to work with Good Shepherd Hospice for over 4 years now and I'm still amazed at all of the amazing things this team accomplishes day to day. The Leadership and Care Teams here really do put patient care first. Our care plans are not cookie cutter, they are designed to meet the needs of the patient and family. If you're searching for Hospice or Palliative services for yourself, a friend or loved one, I'd highly recommend calling Good Shepherd Hospice!
melissia davis: I’ve been referring Good Shepard Hospice (Warrensburg, Mo.) location for quite some time. They are extremely compassionate, easy to work with, an overall wonderful people to work with. They make sure to go above a beyond. Love visiting with all their staff that come in, such wonderful people!
david crawford: Absolutely wonderful and compassionate. Not sure about the previous negative review, but my dealings with Cassandra, Chaplain Mary Linda, and the nurse that was with my mother at the very end (whose name I unfortunately cannot remember) were absolutey wonderful. Thank all of you.David Crawford
Tina Kay: I have to leave this review because the two 5 star reviews have to be bogus and probably from owners or employees. This company deserves absolutely zero stars. I am a senior helper working for a company in Kansas City. I have been in this line of work over 5 years now. I have witnessed many “end of life care” experiences with different hospice companies. They are so unprofessional. First, there should be a meeting with family members and caregivers. They met with one daughter. They acted annoyed by me working with my client who I loved dearly. They NEVER documented the meds. They should have counted pills and measured liquids when they visited. They would not give my client pain meds for two days, said she was okay. She was not. She was in horrible pain. I asked if she could get a bed cushion to help with her bed sore, no, they said she didn’t need it. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy end their life with this company. I really liked how a company in Platte City treated my other clients.

Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care: what do users think?
Julie Willingham: Margaret from this place is amazing!!
monica rowland: I am not one do reviews but I had to share the wonderful experience I had consulting with the team members I met at MPHC. They went above and beyond to make the process my family and I are going through as easy as possible. I genuinely believe they care about not only their patients but the patient’s family as well.At every level; the nurses, Missouri chaplain, social workers, aids (particularly Raven) - I was comforted with the respect and care they displayed. Your Executive Director (wish I could remember her name) even took a moment of her busy schedule to follow up with me and my family to make sure all our questions were answered. I have full confidence we are in good hands and will be completely taken care of by MPHC.
Ariel Craig: Was Fired From This Place Without Any Concrete reason , went through a loss and instead of any of them calling me in the office to talk about the root of an issue they took the coward way out, had to have time off because of the loss I was dealing with and the basically fired me because of it ! I pray one day they realize what they did was wrong and unfair
Savannah Shelton: I have worked with Ashley and she is a very hard working, caring person who genuinely cares about her job and the people she works with daily.
Susan Woods: Informed, nurturing and very compassionate best explain my experience with everyone who helped when losing my father..... They fully explained what he was going through, took excellent care of him, and gave him respect and compassion even after he passed.... I would never hesitate to recommend the people and the company to anyone in need of these services.... God bless them all!!
S G: I honestly don't know what my family would have done without this company's help. They've gone above and beyond over and over. We had to fight my mom's doctor to get her hospice care (he had his own hospice company he was trying to force on us AFTER my mom had already chosen this one). They helped us find a good funeral home when she passed. They even tried to take a tablet so my uncle in a nursing home could watch the funeral (the nursing going took forever to open the door). They helped us figure out where donating her clothes and shoes would do the most good (they went to a nursing home) and even took them there themselves. They're currently helping us find a more appropriate nursing home for my uncle that fits his needs and where he can have hospice care. They've been so patient, kind and helpful. We appreciate you guys SO MUCH. Thank you for all you do.
Kristine May-Williams: BEWARE!!!!!!!!!Missouri palliative and Hospice is not a good company to work for tbh. They hired me and I was there not even 3 weeks and they decide to let me go. Let me tell u my opinion and tht is because they have young people working for them and they all was petty about giving up patients for my to have a full time schedule but in the time I was there 2 employees called in or didn't work and I cover cases without issues and then one employee could go to a patient house cause the family didn't like her and I went there and had no issues with tht family and they love me and told me they liked me already and couldn't wait to see me again.
Laura Wagoner: They have the most caring staff.
Jamie Gray: Knowledgeable, caring, and comforting! It takes very special people to do this work! Thank you for all you do.
Ben Wagoner: Best thing is that they have people like Linda Gray working there. She is someone who obviously cares about you.
Cinthia Rew: Friendly workers. Top notch!
nancy hans: My mother was under the very good care of Missouri Palliative and Hospice care. The staff was superb in informing our family of mom’s condition, changes, and advice. Very comforting at such a difficult time.
Kalie Hudson: We chose Missouri Palliative and Hospice Care to help with my grandmother's end of life care. The staff is detail-oriented and she was comfortable and well cared for.
Christian J Lynch: Great service and welcoming!
Dennis McCarthy: Phil Hill purchased some equipment from me a couple of years ago. What a great person to share a business transaction. The employees of this company are so blessed to have his leadership and caring attitude. Knowing Phil as I do, your employees and their daily customers are in great hands for years to come.
Cynthia Briscoe: I’m so thankful for the kind and loving care provided by MPC. They truly go above and beyond to accommodate the needs of not only the patient but the family, as well. Thank you to all for what you do. It’s a comfort and a blessing.
Karen Petitt: Our deepest thanks go out to Terry Downing of Missouri Hospice & Palliative Care Association for helping us navigate our situation with mom, who passed away recently from Alzheimer's. What a TRUE angel who understood what we were going through not only with her, but also with getting dad in a better position to care for her. This was a heavy burden made lighter through her, our nurse, Denise and Health Aid, Brittany. Brittany painted mom's nails on mom's last day on earth ... unbeknownst to all of us. Mom loved her nails painted and it was like a parting gift. I will never forget that tender moment seeing her nails done. It was just so sweet. The whole team is an example of community and connectedness. We could not have done this without them. They made it possible for mom to pass away peacefully at age 81 at home with her loving spouse of 62 years by her side. I hope more people become educated about what they do and are able to do, and that more doctors understand how best to use them for a family care situation as well.
Amy Mattingly: I am a volunteer there I wish I can work there I know I can God's plan had me to do other things to help out people that cannot get services a angel that works with your company her name is Miss Nicole I met her less than a year ago through another angel but Miss Nicole was gifted and very pleased with me but also I was very pleased with her to take the opportunity to help mebut this facility helped me grow in so many ways I help out people so many ways that I can help out y'all and I do help out y'all open my heart up and so many ways that I can fly about helping our residents our clients it's our mission it's our duty this place gives us hope this place gives us dreams this place gives our clients and our residents our staff opportunities to grow but also this one angel Ms Nicole gave me a gift to fly and that's what I'm doing to put a smile on my residence my client's faces so I just want to say thank you for opening your doors and your heart to me and I know that y'all will help out other people so come on and join our team thank you
Brian Willbond: Every staff member on their team that we have worked with has been very supportive and detail oriented. They provide great service for the Veterans which means alot!
Miles Hartley: We had a client that needed hospice assistance and this group jumped right in and got them what they need quickly. They have compassion for the patient and the family. I will definitely use them again.
Terry Downing: I would imagine that for any nurse their job is challenging but for a hospice nurse and her support team they have additional challenges. This care team went above and beyond to help our family. Thank you!

We are honest people, making a difference in others lives.
Matthew Steelman: This company has some extremely pushy "nurses" who are literally just salespeople in scrubs...its very clear to me before even having my loved one assessed, that they prioritize profits over patients. Stay clear of this company.

Three Oaks Hospice | Kansas City: what do users think?
Mark M: The nursing staff that came where helpful, gentle with my father. They took good care
Sheila Ryan: The team at Three Oaks Hospice was a true lifeline for my Mother-in-law and us. There were some challenges as this process is in constant flux but their team kept us informed and stood with us during every change and step throughout. We were able to provide proper care, compassion and dignity to my MIL and could not have done it with out this team of rock stars at Three Oaks Hospice! Thank you all & God Bless! ❤️😘
Ann Redic: The communication from this place on my mothers care was non exisistent. Appearntly they felt my Mother didn't qualify for services but didn't relay that message. Just left us hanging for 2 weeks. I placed numerous calls and was getting the run around. When my Mother fell and I called to let them know, no one came out to check on her. She was under their care at the time. So I DO NOT recommend this place at all! By the way, my mother is with another company now and she absolutely qaulified for their hospice service. Bypass this awful company and save your loved one and yourself the grief of not knowing what is going on.
Jeff B: I can not say enough about the care and love they shared with my mom as she spent her last few days with us. Every single employee that spent time with her was a great resource, and some of them went above and beyond to make sure she, and we, were well cared for.
Darlene Pembridge: Three Oaks hospice is the Best !!! They are caring, thorough, and a wonderful addition to the care of my sweet Mom. The personalities of everyone one that I have worked with or spoken to, are always very pleasant , and comforting. I have already recommended them, and will continue to do so. The best decision I have made in a while.
Kim Ade Gibson: Our Three Oaks team were phenomenal. They were with us every step of the way. Thank you Kristy, Alicia and Diana🙏🏾💜🙏🏾
jennifer crabtree: The staff was amazing! I cannot say enough great things about them. Caring and helpful through the whole process with my dad. I was so very thankful to have someone to help us through that difficult time. I would highly recommend them.
