Mattie Brown: I showed up for a test, it was a long wait which is expected. After the test I got told that all the instructors didn’t test the same and did different things. Altogether roads in this part of independence aren’t really put together for testing.

Every time a question was asked rudely, I stared at her for a sec like i couldn’t believe she was being that rude then I replied in a firm tone, it’s not hard to give people kindness, they will continue to be rude because they can’t even get fired, sad. Hopefully the ladies see these reviews and reflect on how horrible people they are .

Kevin McKinney: I arrived at 11:15 was given the number 81 when they were serving #21. 3 and a half hours later I got to the front of the line. They told me that I needed a birth certificate to renew a CDL even though i still had a valid CDL with me. That aside, the private company that runs this place (elle dmv?) cuts costs too much. They need twice as many staff. Since covid has forced the line outside, the staff has no idea how many people are ourtside. Out of sight, out of mind.

Alanna Dozier: If I could give zero stars I would. When I was 18, took my driver's test here and the lady with reddish brown hair screamed at me the entire time. I was so nervous from her screaming that I failed. Luckily the second time I got someone else and passed. Years later I took my niece to the same place and the same lady is there and guess what? Screamed at my niece immediately as soon as she walked in because she didn't see the covid stop sign inside. How are these ladies still working here? Total power trip and you can tell this woman is excited and happy to fail you. There is a white haired lady that works there who is the exact same way. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE. These two women have given so many people anxiety and stress when it should be a calm and respectful experience on both sides. They will almost always fail your child their first time. Waste of time.

Kristie Sanders: Cant give a zero?? My daughter went to take her written exam today, suffers from anxiety and the older lady was extremely rude to her. She is the quietest, sweetest girl, and this persons attitude was completely uncalled for. Perhaps a new profession or retirement?? Wow

Hannah Paxton: If I could give no stars I would.First off, the old white haired lady who gave me my test said I did things wrong I know for. a fact I got right, then when I'd ask questions or ask her to repeat where she wanted me to turn she'd rudely reply, well if you listened to the instructions you would know, and not tell me, then when I failed for those reasons she laughed at me and said I'd need to come back cause it was a "hard fail".

Kaleidoscope Kenya: I called an officer 113 answered the phone very well spoken. She answered every single question I had without an attitude and I'm sure she has repeated herself 155 times in the last 2 hours. Good customer service is rare and I tell you 113 has her stuff together.

trinity tigner: workers are VERY rude and old heavy set white lady made a racist remark to me. they do not care to answer any questions answer the phone or acknowledge you while you’re there to get started on a test. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE!!

Lindy Trotter: I took my son here after a fiasco at the Gladstone location. The officers at this location were kind, courteous and very helpful. Even when a customer became irate, the officers were calm and handled the situation without raising their voices or being demeaning. Very impressed with the speed and helpfulness of everyone in the office. KUDOS! Perhaps you could train the officers at the Gladstone location.

Cheyenne Riley: Went in today around lunch to take the written portion of my test to get my CDL Class B (general knowledge, passenger endorsement, school bus endorsement) learner's permit to be a school bus driver. All employees were very friendly, but the room that you take the computerized tests is the same room that customers come in and talk to the employees at the front desk. It is a huge distraction when taking a test that needs and the 80% pass rate on each section.Had to listen to complaints about janitors not cleaning the bathroom well enough, kids coming in to take driving tests, and a grumpy old man trying to skip the line over at the licensing office while talking my exams.

Amanda Robinson: I would avoid this location. There is a female examiner who cannot speak English well, which makes it hard for the kids to understand the directions and difficult for the parents to understand what their child did right/wrong. She tests on very obscure rules, which is fair, but with the language barrier added to that, I would recommend going to a different location. She failed every single person in front of us in the line.

Brooke Waters: Absolutely terrible experience with them regarding paperwork. They offered no assistance or guidance and chose to treat me like a child. Vehicle paperwork can be overwhelming and confusing and this office only made it worse.

J M: I just call about info on a used boat motor out of state. I read online that they could look up the serial# to see if it was stolen. I was told it was against the law for them to look it up and then they hung up on me. Try to do the right thing and this. They need more help or be more helpful.

Aaron Babbitt: I literally just got pulled over by "Trooper" Mulkey for avoiding standing water off of Z Highway in Platte County. He followed me for a mile and pulled me over, in my driveway, where he power-tripped for 10 minutes to show off for my neighbors. All over crossing a line, with no oncoming traffic, to avoid obvious standing water.

Arturo Borja: Beyond a shadow of a doubt the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered works in this department. I am a first time car owner and needed guidance on registering my car under my name so I did have a few questions for her to make sure I was doing everything correct based off their tedious process. (the car I am trying to register is a rebuild salvage title from Texas) After being cut off at every question, I explained to her I was directed from the Grandview DMV to contact the highway patrol to conduct an inspection at this given department. I tried to explained the situation and was cut off at every opportunity to speak, she contentiously state I needed to contact the DMV and receive a 551 form (which I did have) before I could set an appointment. I kept trying to tell her I am picking up my forms today (08/27/19) and would like to schedule and appoint but she wasn't for a second giving me a chance to speak. Terrible service and system entirely. I'm literally asking the department to give me an opportunity to be a good Samaritan by 1.) Registering a vehicle under the right owner 2.) Getting Missouri Plates 3.) PAY PROPERTY TAXES (I'm literally fighting to pay this department money and this woman on the other line will not let me) unbelievable what a person needs to do in order to get a car registered in Missouri. On top of all that they are only open 8:00AM-4:00PM and I work 7:00AM-5:00PM I've now lost an impressive 3 hours of work because of this flawed service/department.

Defund Pro sports: Stop with the bs excuses about being concerned for citizen safety and simply enforcing the law while handing out speeding tickets. Only 28% of criminal cases are cleared and millions of illegals are walking away from charges involving dwi speeding theft etc.... just admit it's a money grab, write the damn ticket and save us both some time and aggravation.

Egomy Swago: So I came in at 4:25 exactly and asked to take the driving test the women tried to tell me they can’t do anymore for the day they stop at 4:20 I told the women it specially states on the paper that the dmv in grand view game me states the test can’t be taken within 35 minutes of close, she didn’t know what piece of paper I was taking about , please make sure to update things like these .

B B: Excellent! I've lived in LS my whole life and never had a bad encounter. These officer's and every other good officer out there need to be respected. Think about things from there perspective. Don't just read a headline or listen to the news and make an assumption. Get informed!

Allison Underwood: I'm 40 years old and have passed the driving exam 5 times in my lifetime, lowest score being 86%. I failed today for the first time. The sergeant in charge of this troop took some sort of personal dislike to me, despite being polite to her. As a single mom that just missed $50 in pay and 4 hours of work, I would prefer professional treatment to power trips. I've taken 3 of the 6 tests at this location and will never return. The other staff were courteous and kind. I hope she got a thrill out of ruining a strangers day. People can be so petty and mean.

Heidi Nicole: No one likes getting caught speeding but trooper Wright makes it a bearable experience. All my run ins with him have always been pleasant. Kudos!

Amanda Robinson: Terrible. Do not go here for inspections. I was very nice and I dealt with a very terse and rude woman who did not want to provide any helpful information whatsoever.

Tait Torset: Easy to set up an appointment and they really get you in and out, would highly recommend this location for any of your inspections, DL test/permits…It’s like an all on one center, so you don’t have to drive 3 different places!

Doug White: Don't waste your time. They only do salvage inspections at this Hi-PO location, although that detail is not noted or advertised anywhere on the building or signage. They do not do regular state vehicle inspections. ZERO stars.

Alicia Davis: I have been there 2 times recently, both times all the officers were nice & helpful. Laughed & joked around while getting the job done & explaining what is going on in the process & how things worked on something that I have never been thru with a boat.
