Kenny Heggemeyer: We had a fantastic Saturday night dinner here! Variety of options, great drink menu, tasty rolls & very talented staff. Great hole in the Wal-do vibe 🤩Vegetarian options: Veggie egg rolls were delish!
Steph Abbott: Awesome, awesome, awesome! This is a little gem of a sushi bar in brookside. The friendliest staff and service. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Jeanne Rivers: We had take out for my Birthday and Valentine this year for our first time, and it was SOOOOO GOOD! The tempora was crisp, miso was savory, and the sushi was so deliciously fresh. We ordered 2 chef sushi choic combos and a couple rolls. It was the best sushi I've had in years. The shashimi was generous sized and melted in our mouths.I can't wait to enjoy their sushi again 😋
Argel Moncayo: Y'all, I love this place! I've been to many sushi restaurants around KC and I had a favorite back in my hometown in Lenexa, but this one takes the cake and beats it! I have been loyal for over a year and they recognize me! Cannot beat their Happy Hour from 5-7PM! They are amazing and deserve all the praise! Super friendly and homey! Feels like you're in Japan! 😍🇯🇵
Andrea Garcia: Best sushi in KC. It is a legacy restaurant that used to be in Crown Center when I was a child. It’s a tucked away no frills sushi den. The fish is fresh and artfully prepared. The staff is warm and friendly. It’s a no frills place. They do take out.Kid-friendliness: It’s kid friendly. They have mochi.
CARLETON WILLIAMS: Had a second wonderful experience here with my pal Marie last night, & want to encourage any & all to try this delightful small & intimate restaurant! GREAT sushi & excellent food value.Give them a try & support local independent businesses like this one.
Randy Short: The freshest sushi I've ever had in the Midwest. Delicious food and fantastic, personalized service.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Miso Soup, Sushi, Tempura, Sashimi Combo …More

Joshua Eaton: My father used to frequent Kabuki in Crown Center when I was a kid. I remember the kimonos and the horigotatsu tables that have a recess in the floor. The sushi would come out on wooden boats if you ordered a decent amount. I recently went to the new spot in Brookside for dinner with my wife and son.We started with an order of Edamame and the Green Lip Mussel appetizer they were featuring which was served hot and had a spicy mayo based sauce on top. Miso soup was great, had a salad also. Ordered Tempura Shrimp Roll, Salmon Nigiri, and Sushi Ume, chef's choice. Impressed with the size of cuts on the salmon. Plenty of food for 3 and came on the wooden boat. Great presentation with banana leaves and fresh orchid. I think I'm right that the sushi chef is the original owner's son, so there's some provenance here. I don't review much, but this was worth a review and pictures. Will be back.
Aida Baghdasarian: We are new to the neighborhood of Kansas City, MO and in the hunt of a good sushi restaurant. Unfortunately, Kabuki is not it. Service was great, place clean but sushi was just ok. I know we won't go back unless for miso soup and tuna roll which is not pictured.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Garrett Sauer: This is truly a gem of a restaurant tucked away in Brookside. The space is intimate yet spacious, homey and elegant all at once. 80s classics played as we enjoyed our miso soup, which, by the way, was delicious. The service was prompt, friendly, and professional. You want sushi that will leave your tummy and your wallet satisfied? Visit Kabuki and thank me later.
Nic Johnson: We have visited Kabuki Sushi and hands down it has been my favorite place to get Sushi in KC!! It is cozy, quaint, and quiet. Service is friendly and prompt, and most importantly the sushi is DELICIOUS!! They have many options so there is something for everyone, and it's very fairly priced! Definitely one of our staple date-night spots.
Teresa Coates: Absolutely delicious sushi in a place ups never expect it.
mrc22250: What a great time!! I’m not a sushi fan but my wife is! Sooo sometimes you got to give in. Great steak! And crab Rangoon was on point. Will be eating here again.
Ben Walnick: Hard to find better sushi this far from the water. A family owned business with very friendly and efficient service. If you are really hungry, order off menu for the chef’s choice boat as pictured. 👌
Maribel Lopez: Really good.. food, place cooks service 👌
Elizabeth Wheeler: It was all delicious and great service!
Teacher Lydia: The food was not good but the servers were nice. I wouldn’t go back for their food.
R Cantor: One of the top 2 sushi restaurants in the KC area

Sayachi Sushi: what do users think?
Carmen Ching: I would not call it a Japanese restaurant. Extremely overpriced with inauthentic food. Rice in nigiri did not stick together at all. Fish didn’t taste fresh. The $21 grilled fish combo, was made with a piece of bland tilapia with a lime wedge, mentioned in another comment. Didn’t even have the basic Japanese pickles in the meals. Miso soup was terrible with a bitter taste. My boyfriend and I had a stomachache after eating in this restaurant.
Michael Adamson-Kauffman: Delicious food! Our server, Jessica, was OK but somewhat crispy...they have this weird/cute robot delivering food to tables...nice gimmick...sweet reverse HH on Fridays and Saturdays from 800-1000 pm, but be diligent to ensure that your check is correct? We e will definitely return.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Crab Rangoons, Yaki Gyoza 5, Nigiri or Sashimi, Squid Salad, Miso Soup …More
Nathan Richards: Absolutely amazing. Will be coming back for sure.Food, service, the freaking robot, all top notch.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

TW Jensen: Great spot!
Thommy Lukowski: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Chloé White: Sushi here is always fresh and really innovative -- Japanese with a Mexican twist (if you love Jarocho, you'll love this sister restaurant!). Plus, a robot delivers your food!
Olivia Farmer: I cannot say enough good things about Sayachi Sushi! We sat at the sushi bar and had a very personable and enjoyable experience talking with the chef. We will definitely be back!
Brandon Gerhardt: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Crab RangoonsMore
Jill Thompson: Great sushi! A must try!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Audra Spiven: LOVE Sayachi. Eat there weekly. The chirashi bowl at lunch is the BEST. Their traditional and specialty rolls also make a superb dinner, which my husband and I indulge together from time to time, but I like to go by myself for lunch once a week. 🧡Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jeff Grant: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Kala Elkinton: Sushi, appetizers, vibes; all top notch. We love patio season at Sayatchi and HH is a must have as well.
Kent Seaton: Parking: Circled three times on the block but finally found a spot.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Parking space Difficult to find parking Parking options Free parking lot, Free street parking …More
Eric Thomas: Always great service, great sushi.
Luka Galentas: Husband and I had ebisu ramen, a maki roll and miso. Food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Atmosphere is lovely, and service was great. Other ramen shops in KC could take some notes from this place!
MJ Layne: Absolutely adorable little restaurant. I've been here every time I visited KC. Ramen is magnificent, though one could probably appreciate a few more flavor options in the ramen. Sushi is excellent, and I have no idea where they got the brilliant recipe for their crab rangoon filling, but it's unique and flavorful and not at all a cream cheese filling. ALSO, don't forget the amazing robot that brings you your meal.Parking: There's not a lot of parking spots near the restaurant, you do have to find a place and walk if you go at dinner time. Don't park at the Price Chopper, they watch the lot for people parking there to go other places.
Ale Bar: Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5More
kevin2themax (kevin2themax): The crab Rangoons here are incredible. Ended up getting the ramen lunch special. Perfectly subtle. Great wait staff
Jill Lenox: Best sushi in KC. Not trying to be trendy - just high quality sushi and service. Ebi Shiso Age appetizer is wonderful and unique - I also love the spicy crab roll even though if it's a just a spicy California Roll!

Sakura Japanese Restaurant: what do users think?
jim stephens: Very good dinner with cousins. Their son loved the train. Got to go to Fritz's and here, two trains in one day for him.Had beef noodles, wife had chicken. Others had sushi off the train. We're glad they enjoyed it.
Rhonda Ybarra: We love this place. The staff knows us and what we like and always are very tentative to us in asking if we want some of what they've made and also request items be made to appease us. Very nice place, staff and owners. The sushi train is usually where we sit. We would like to try the hibachi grill one of these days.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi Train Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Quynh Nguyen: Excellent hibachi, the workers work very hard to serve the customer. Excellent customer services!
Jesse Clay: Sushi train! Choo Choo muthaclucka!Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Emily Chandler: We made reservations for 7pm. We were led to a dirty table, they forgot to bring out one of my daughters drinks, they no longer offer the buy one get one 1/2 off… and then over an hour later still waiting with no food. my family of 5 plus a party of 4 also seated at our grill left.
Liz R: If you like nigiri, get it here!!!!!!!!!! Any other sushi restaurant will have you paying $6-6.50 for two pieces but here they're $4.50. The fish has always been good and they dont skimp you on it like some other places do. I think Hibachi is a waste of money and time so cant say anything about that... but again get your nigiri here!! The other sushi is pretty okay too.
Jessica Karl: Loved the experience of the sushi train. The mango sushi was yummy. Only complaint is that I didn’t care for their black sauce (assuming it’s eel sauce). Everything else was tasty. We were able to request rolls be made and placed on the train as well. Would return.
Juli Copple: Great food and friendly staffFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi Train …More
Kendall Reese: Very nice attentive staff. The sushi train is cute and exciting. The price per plate for the sushi train is very reasonable. Soda is almost $4 though. A good place to grab a bite to eat.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Roll, Sushi Train …More
vince lopez: The rolls were really on the expensive side. I have had better sushi for less. Two normal rolls(pieces) for $3.00. which is good price if you are doing sashimi. You pay by the plates so be careful. Not an all you can eat place.
Joshua Pharr: Place could use a face lift so don't let that scare you away cause this is the best place in KC for sushi!
chris cooper: Best sushi in town. Love this place.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jessie Roach: We have been coming here as a family for a very long time at least once a year for my brother's birthday. Not only did the reservation get messed up and we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, which by itself would not have bothered us really, but we waited an additional hour for the chef to come to our table and start cooking. So we didn't eat until two hours after our originalreservation. Staff was not helpful when I approached them about what was going on. We ordered appetizers and plenty of drinks and my family were nice throughout having to wait so long. The one star is only because I have to use at least one in order to leave a review, and at least the food was as good as it always is. They did comp our bill for our drinks which was a nice gesture, but I had to approach the manager and ask for that, it was not offered to us. The servers did keep our waters and drinks full. The restaurant hardly had any people in it so I'm not sure what caused the issue, maybe they were missing a chef, but what would have helped was if staff were more personable throughout the long wait rather than pretend it wasn't happening. Also disappointed the buy one, get one free is no longer offered, but really the terrible service is what left us not happy. Our chef barely spoke to us once he finally came out to the table, very different from how funny and engaging other chefs have been in past years.
Susan Hinds: Pretty mediocre sushi. The chefs were very nice and accommodating, asking if they could make anything special. The quality will always be a little less with a sushi train, but it’s fun to experiment w different things with the train option. The eel sauce was on so many rolls, and it tasted like it had gone bad and was very overpowering. Nice service!!
Podladog 00: The go to train spot, fun and delicious spot to eat. You might not think they do but the chefs watch what you're picking and I love that they do, I've gotten to try some seriously good rolls.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Steve LeBlanc: I have been going to this restaurant for years. On a busy night when fully staffed it’s not bad but on a slow day when the old Chinese man with the funky mustache and goatee wearing a baseball cap is left in charge, it is an utter disaster. He and the young Mexican boy are busy behind the counter with very little output. You can get a California roll or spicy tuna but nigiri? It just doesn’t flow. Last time I was there this old man sliced a couple of pieces of Salmon and never put them on the train, then proceeded to play with some tuna filets and paper towels for at least ten minutes never putting any out. He is totally unaware of the customers needs and never acknowledges them or smiles. I left frustrated after 3 plates. I say RETIRE THE OLD MAN!!!
dustin evans: If I could give this place 100 stars I would.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi Train, Roll …More
Chris Viesselman: Love the food and atmosphere. We drive an hour to go to this one because of the friendly chefs and it used to be but one get one free. Went there tonight and was told they are not doing that anymore. Very disappointed. Also a lady walking around appeared to be pushing us to leave, because she was rushing us to put our to-go boxes in our bags. Then she was scolding our waiter for talking to us, I was complaining to him about her. Our sushi was messed up at first and they were going to correct it then she began to argue with me about why we didn’t say something when we ordered it (what they put on it was not on the menu). Normally around $100 for our family to eat there cost us around $250 tonight. Will probably be looking for other places closer to home now if they are truly not doing the buy one get one anymore.
