Ryan Schreckenghaust: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueHaving work done on your boat is never fun. It’s expensive and it often takes FOREVER, keeping your boat off the water. KC BOAT DOCTOR: what do users think?
Ross Johnson: Darrin and the team are great! I’ve used them a few times over the years with good results each time. For simple things like fluid changes they have often times got me in and out the same day or over just a couple of days.
Alphonso Slappy: Details on which they service would be great .
Jake Waters: I was pleased with the quality of workmanship, where they fell drastically short was with the communication! I dropped my boat off to have the carburetors redone and was informed that I would receive a quote once they had a chance to look into the motor to see what all it needed. The next time that I heard from them the work was done, at no point did I receive a call to inform me how much the repairs were going to cost. Then when I went to pay for the services and pick up the boat, I handed him my card to pay and he informed me that there was a 3% charge for using a card and that he had meant to tell me that the day before. I like I said above, the workmanship from the mechanics was good but the communication from the office is horrible. My suggestion is if you use their service just take it upon yourself to stay in contact with them so that you don't get caught of guard!Services:Tune-ups,Engine repair
Jeff Holthaus: Awesome work from start to finish. Diagnosed the issue and explained in detail the parts needed. Went the extra mile to find parts when told they were not available from manufacturer for 7 months. Even helped me diagnose my trailer lights which would not work when I picked up the boat. I’ll send my friends to KC Boat Doctor.Service:Engine repair
Devin Heese: Services:Engine repair,Water pump servicePositive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Value
Jeffery A. Sutton: Darin is a very knowledgeable boat mechanic and I've used them for years
Matt Elliott: Darren and his team are fast and accurate. Best in town. Fast turn around. 5 Stars
Nate McD: Darren and the team at KC Boat Doctor did an incredible job re-powering my Chaparral after an engine failure. They provided up front and reasonable estimates and accomplished the work on time and budget. If you need service or repair in the KC area, look no further!
quinton young: Positive:Professionalism
Scott Berg: Great guy! Just didn't have the right equipment with him... honest mistake. Scott.
Brian Hutchinson: Great Experience.... Service and Repairs were prompt and complete
Albert Villafain: Great people, very informative.
Steve Freidell: I live in Lawrence KS. I use to go to another boat repair in Lawrence for over 36 years. Never again! KC Boat Doctor is professional and their quality of work is superior in every way. Its well worth the drive and their prices are below what my mechanic of 35 years charged me in Lawrence. Darren the owner, runs his business like he really cares about every boat and every customer that comes through his doors. When I picked up the boat he knew everything about my boat as if he had done the work himself. Darren even noticed that the manifold drain plugs had begun to show serious wear and he installed a device to replace the plug and at his expense! Who ever had a boat repair dealer do that???Darren I could not have been more pleased and I applaud you for your superior customer service and please thank all the guys for a job well done.
Ryan Blair: Let me preface this review by saying I do my own work on all my boats, vehicles, etc. I know my way around a motor and can turn a wrench. However my older johnson 2 stroke was giving me fits and I was unable to figure out the issue. Darron quoted me a time frame to look at it and maintained an acceptable level of communication. He identified the issue and sent me on my way a happy customer. A real mechanic's mechanic. Thank youService:General repairs maintenance
Jonathon Roberts: My wife and I turned to KC Boat Doctor after hitting a stump at Smithville lake. The impact broke the propeller and bent the prop shaft, so we knew it wasn't going to be a simple prop swap. We had been getting our boat serviced at the shop where we bought it, which is where we originally had it. After more than a month of no action on the boat (granted there were COVID related delays) we started calling around to other shops to see if there were parts available locally. Darren at KC Boat Doctor was very up front with us on the call noting that the parts were on back order due to COVID shipping delays, but he quickly offered some alternatives. Both were more expensive than the original repair, but he guaranteed to have us back on the water for an upcoming vacation. After dropping the boat off on Thursday, I got a call on Tuesday morning the next week informing me the work was complete and the boat was ready to pick up. The cost was exactly what he originally estimated. Our boat is even running smoother now than when we originally bought it new. We are extremely happy with the quality and level of service Darren and his team provided and will be customers for life. I highly recommend using KC Boat Doctor for any routine service or repairs you need for your boat.Services:General repairs maintenance,Engine repair
David Coker: Work was completed in a very timely matter. When I showed up to pick up the boat the tech walked me through everything thing that they had done including showing me the damaged items that were placed. They will definitely be my go to place for any boat repairs that I need.
Michael Black: I brought them my 87 Champion because it needed work on the trim mechanism. Unfortunately because of the age of my boat, parts to repair the original mechanism were not available so the whole unit had to be replaced. Before recommending I spend that much money on such an old boat, the guys gave my boat a thorough look including compression tests on all the cylinders and checking for spark / fuel. During the tests they found that two of my cylinders were not getting spark. They said the boat was in good condition otherwise. They replaced the control box on the engine which brought those two cylinders back to life and went ahead with the replacement for the trim mechanism. They had my boat for about two weeks for the entire repair. The long wait wasn't the Doctor's fault. Mercury took their sweet time sending parts.I really appreciated that they gave my boat a good look before recommending such a large expense on it. You don't really expect that anymore; people just want your money regardless of if it's a worthwhile venture. Checking over my boat went a long way to earning my future business. I'll be back the next time one of my boats needs work.Update: I've since brought my boat back for replacement steering cables and the guys knocked it out in no time. Very friendly, very good service. I'll definitely be back anytime my boats require work that is out of my league.
Shelly Kelsay: We feel staff are very knowledgeable and respect needs of the customer. Loved working with them and feel they are fair and prices good.
Jeff Sheppard: Darren at KC Boat Doctor does amazing work at a fair price. Best boat repair shop in town!
Jake Osborn: Services:General repairs maintenance,Engine repairPositive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality
sdf sdf: Positive:Professionalism,QualityKC boat doctor does the best job with my boat. I only trust them and they always fix everything timely and it lasts forever. You have to go to them.

We are over the top protective about our camper and we’re worried about impending weather the day of our appointment. They assured us they would keep it inside until it was repaired. We were able to get in for an appointment within two weeks and it was completed within 2 days. Since it was the beginning of summer we couldn’t really test the heater. In the fall it came on fine but there was a rattle. They guaranteed the work and fixed the rattle.
