Planned Parenthood - Independence Health Center: what do users think?
G B: Black Lives that don't Matter are killed here!
Quan Irving: We called to set up an appointment then when we got here they told us they couldn’t see us
Zach Gart: I had my nexplanon removed and had a new one put in Jessica was my nurse practitioner she was so sweet, and kind ,very professional I am horrible with needles and ended up getting sick and she was so easy going and understanding I am so appreciative of her. I didn't have to wait long at all and the lady at the front desk was very helpful and kind as well. I told her I didn't have the full amount I needed to pay and she helped me and brought the price way down thank you ladies very much.
Alyssa Miller: This location is amazing! Staff members here are amazing, super friendly, and know what they are doing! My experience has always been so great! Thank you, Planned Parenthood!
Wernex Wernex: I had a great experience here. Didn't wait long for my appointment. Had someone knowledgeable work with me and had someone take my blood without much pain. My HRT was done fast and was completely covered by the grant they have right now.
Erin stebbins: I gotten my hormone replacement therapy through this location for about a year and a half(blood work every 3 months) and they are very respectful and knowledgeable about transgender healthcare. The sliding scale is very generous. Appointments usually run a bit behind but it's not a big deal. I recommend this location to people all of the time.
Steph: I appreciate everything they do for lots of people. That said, I arrived at 12:10 for my 12:30 appointment and wasn't seen til after 1 after waiting over an hour. Meanwhile other people came in after me and got in sooner. I'd appreciate it if I could be seen on time as I made it in on time. Otherwise it was a great experience and the NP removed my implant quickly and painlessly.
Kevin Guardado: Didn’t show up for an appointment
Denise Stinson: Everytime I scheduled a appointment I never seem to see anyone at the location!! They have no one there to see me or properly do exam. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. I will 🚫 never recommend anyone to 🤔 this location. And the staff is rude
Sam K: So welcoming and just over all a good, friendly experience. They were very informative and made me not scared for my first visit 10/10
Wol Endov: The protestors outside were really nice to me when I had my baby removed.
Arkini Spenelli: I’m really baffled at the bad reviews for the length of the visit. If I had to sit there for hours for my free birth control I’m not going to complain. These are free or discounted services. We’re lucky planned parenthood exists at all. I’ve never had an issue at this location. They are all nice. I’ve personally never had a long wait here. I think this is the best location. I have had issues with the other locations but not enough to give them less than 3 stars when they’re giving me free birth control...
Eleni: Had a hard time getting someone on the phone. I did get my question answered though.
Elaine: Easily made an appointment online to have my birth control updated, and received text/email reminders in the days leading up to my visit.Staff was friendly from start to finish. Everyone was patient and open, making me feel very comfortable and safe.Procedure itself was quick and painless, and more affordable than some offices for me. Overall this was jusy a really positive experience!
Michelle ishappy: Zero good. Horrid place.
Gretchen Delzer: Had an appointment for a consult. Arrived a few minutes after they suggested was still seen on time. Service was great and staff was friendly. Definitely not what I had expected from past reviews. Will be returning.
Jen Kean: Two weeks and counting waiting for test results when I was told five to seven days - no mail, no response to voicemail...nothing. Will not return.
M: Made an appointment and arrived early for he paperwork. Waited over an hour past the appointment time. The front desk person was very friendly and the other staff was nice. Only complaint is the wait.
Tony Mitchell: Stay away from this place the put us through unecessary problems with billing and the treatment you receive is just not worth anyone’s time your health is way more important than a cheap price
Emily Griffin: I was going to ignore the fact that I waited almost an hour after my scheduled appointment time until I got in but now it’s 4 days later and the pharmacy can’t get a hold of anyone to fix the incorrect prescriptions wrote by Dr. Julie Talley. I spent almost an hour on the phone until I reached someone who has now said let me call you back. Extremely frustrating.
Shanice & Ras Abu: Very pleasant experience. I was nervous from rating but nurse janeatta (sorry if misspelled) made me very comfortable & i would come back if i ever needed to use services.

Independence Women's Clinic: what do users think?
Deana Gobble: This is a highly-qualified Women's Clinic! They provide quality care and are very personable!
Christina K: I moved from out of state and needed an IUD replacement, so I reached out to this clinic due to proximity and positive reviews.Although all I needed was an IUD that is a year overdue for a removal, I was told I’d have to have an exam first, and then have a follow up for the BC. And that the wait was 2 months to get in. They were very nice on the phone. Annoyed that I can’t just get a new IUD on the day of my first exam, but I it’s been hard to find an appointment anywhere so I agree. She reminds me to fill out the patient form or my appointment will be canceled, so I later make sure to go online and fill them out.Two months later, I call to make sure of my appointment time a week ahead of time. Still polite and friendly. They confirm the time, and I say thanks. After I arrive, the person at the front desk tells me I am “unfortunately 3 minutes late” (I was in line at the desk behind other people). And that my appointment has been cancelled because I failed to complete a “patient history form.”Sure that I had, I learned that the “patient form” I had already filled out online isn’t the same as the one I needed to fill out. And I can’t get a new appointment for another two months. The desk person says she emailed me the forms “five time” just now (not sure why), but it is still not showing up even when I search for the sender address. I find it in my junk folder, which explains why I didn’t see the email earlier.I fill out the forms online at the office so I can make sure I have it done, and many of the questions don’t apply (nothing about needing birth control in the “why are you making this appointment “) or are strangely personal (“do you wear sunblock regularly” or “do you have problems with your children”).I’m upset about the hoops people have to jump through to get access to birth control. It’s confusing and I’m treated like I am at fault for not being more responsible.I can deal with mistakes and miscommunications but the overly complicated process of becoming a new patient in addition to the long wait between appointments is responsible for the two star review.
Fernando Aguilera: Good people
Cierra Specker: Dr Kiersten Moreno of independence women’s clinic is super down to earth and listens to everything you say. She isn’t quick to get you in and out like most as she genuinely takes her time and makes you feel like you and your pregnancy matter. Very personable.
Escolas Fields: He has been my doctor for 15 years. Love him.
Shannon Lambert: Dr. Moreno is the best and most caring doctor around. Highly recommend her for OB and GYN care!
Pheap Pha: Debra K. Sims is so knowledgeable. She has always taken her time to explain everything to me. She is so understandably patient and always make me feel comfortable. Thank you Debra
Debbie Kroll: I have gone here for a long time and highly recommend. Debra Sims is friendly and so helpful. She takes the time to answer my questions and offers clear explanations.
Stacey carrion: Great location and they actually let you make choices and not tell you no…
Susan Parker: I have been seeing Debbie Sims for over a decade and I would recommend her and Independence Women's Clinic to anyone!!
Eva Villegas: Dr.Moreno was an amazing Doctor!! i highly recommend her for anything. Overall the clinic was so clean and the nurses were soo nice!!
Cecilia Jones: As always everyone was excellent and friendly. Deb listened and helped me decide to take action for my health!
Christina Kanak: Dr. Caffrey is great! He has a great bedside manner and is efficient yet thorough. He truly cares and wants to ensure you are comfortable.
Samara afrisio: The staff were very respectful, helpful and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed
Vicki Barnes: Everyone was very thoughtful and caring, and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Dr. Moreno was especially helpful.
Kathy Nance: I have been a patient of Debra Sims for fifteen+ years. I always feel at ease when I go to Independence women’s Clinic. Debra is always a professional. She is very knowledgeable in women’s health.and will take time to answer questions and discuss options to your medical needs. I will recommend Debra to any of my friends.
Madison Rife: The team at independence women’s clinic is fantastic. I got my IUD yesterday and my Dr. And nurse were phenomenal. They were so caring and Informative.
Raelyn Rucker: I have been going to the Independence Women's Clinc since I was in middle school. They have always made me feel very comfortable and everyone is very nice! I had a bad experience at my local hospital when they did a pap so I was nervous when I had to get one this year. My new doctor, Debra Sims did an amazing job making me feel comfortable and she made the pap go fast and easy too. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Erin Archer: Dr. Sundling is absolutely amazing! I have had many issues with OB’s in the past but she has by far exceeded my expectations. Her staff is always friendly and helpful as well.
Sarah: Debra K. Sims is fantastic. I've never felt at ease before at appointments like these, but she brings a calm reassurance alongside a practical outlook and that's really invaluable in woman's health care. Thank you, Debra!!
Jodi Akins: I can’t say enough great things about this office!! Everyone is always so helpful and kind!! I’ve been with them for years and about to deliver my second child here!! Absolutely love and would highly recommend. They have a payment plan offered to individuals with no insurance!

Planned Parenthood - Patty Brous Health Center: what do users think?
Kaylee Wilson: Best and Cheapest medical care I've ever received. It's not like the regular doctors where you get rushed out the door. They make sure all of your questions are answered before you leave. And they ask about your comfortably with everything during your visit. I wish I could go here for all of my healthcare needs.
Deziree' Halla: I recently visited here(4/15 morning) and WOW every single person that helped me was SO kind. I was very nervous for my appointment, but they all made me feel incredibly comfortable and welcomed. They answered all my questions, gave me recourses, and even asked if they could hug me. I left without feeling like i had been shamed or feeling like i inconvenienced them(which i usually feel that way leaving health centers because i can be a lot). I will only come here from now on. Thank you PLANNED PARENTHOOD :)
Steph: Update: I've had my birth control appointment canceled twice in 1 month already cause nobody is ever in on Saturdays it seems yet they keep allowing you to schedule for that day. Why bother if no one will be in to attend those patients? Just take that day off the booking calendar and don't play with people's fertility and lives. So unprofessional.Great health services, not so great customer service. Got to my appointment after driving 30 minutes and was instantly turned away since I brought my 2 year old with me who I can't leave at home alone cause her dad works full time. Any other medical place always let's you bring your child(ren) with no qualms.
Tehe: This place had Amazing staff and it was super kind n welcoming. ❤️
Stacia Gray: This has been twice now that I have been left outside seeking my birth control. I set an appointment through DocAsap and was never informed by this location that they are not opened on Saturdays. The hours on their center clearly say open on Saturdays. I have had to reschedule for a second time at a different location this time during my work week to get my birth control. I specifically scheduled a weekend appointment so that I wouldn’t have to take time away from work and make up extra hours just for my birth control. I have been very disappointed in Planned Parenthood. I was also forced to walk across the street to this location due to a marathon on the street. Planned Parenthood prides itself on privacy but I had to walk to my health center in front of dozens of people. There is no system to reach the healthcare centers directly so I was on hold the two times I called in only to be told by the answering service this location isn’t open on Saturdays nor the call centers. Highly disappointed and already a young woman who feels her reproductive health is under fire, not being able to have my birth control by setting up an appointment, makes me even more so. Rethink before booking this location or even Planned Parenthood. I have had a bad experience not only at this location but Gladstone as well.
Sierra: They did a great job of inserting my IUD. The nurse midwife was respectful, informative, and took her time to explain all the steps to me before they happened. She also provided great education and I left feeling empowered. The RHA employees were polite, professional, and gendered me correctly every time. I would go back here for further care!
Melonie Courtright: My experience with the team here has been excellent! From the telehealth intake and meeting with the doctor, to coming in and getting my blood drawn and the doctor making sure that I had what I needed to pick up my prescription I could not be happier! I felt respected, cared for and safe! Everyone is awesome and maple does great at drawing blood! Thank you planned parenthood for providing affordable services.
Meghan Thille: This place is fantastic!! Women need access to safe health care and this place is great. The nurses are very nice and informative. I’ve been going here for years.
Natalie James: The nurse practitioner, Jessica, should return to her institution where she got her education, and ask for her money back. Instead of Introducing herself In a more formal way and trying to learn relevant Information regarding my visit, she walked into the patient room, told me to lie back, and bragged about “this is all I do everyday”, but couldn’t answer the a general question like “how long does ovulation take?”; “how long does implantation take?”; nor did she have the decency to go look it up.I was livid because I had to tell the nurse practitioner that I wanted to know my options before agreeing to an IUD. I wanted to know how each one would work and the side effects of each. She seemed to become annoyed with my questions, and after a growing temper and crossing her legs — she stated “I’ll give you pamphlet after you choose so that you can know more about the particular one that you have inserted”.I quickly became doubtful of her expertise. I asked her why she felt or the science supports the copper IUD more, she repeatedly answered questions with “I cannot answer that, I don’t know.” She’s useless. She seemed to push the copper IUD decision on me but couldn’t tell me why it was better than the hormonal. The nurse practitioner that saw me is very prideful in a negative way that could affect the life of a patient. Instead of the insertion take the suggested 10-15 minutes. It took her 22 minutes of attempting to insert it, and she blabbed at the fact that it was because I was too narrow and hadn’t had kids. Almost, as if it was my fault that she hadn’t had proper training on insertion of IUD with standard and different sized canals.I sat in agony and disbelief for 22 minutes before requesting other support. She went to go get another lady named Chante who finished the process in 5 minutes.Clearly, the nurse practitioner should take some pointers from the midwife named Chante. The Nurse Practitioner’s moral concept seems to be way off from what Planned Parenthood preaches. As a medical school student, I question if she’s even worthy of being in field that honors the autonomy of the patient and beneficence of the practitioner to make sound decisions. That nurse practitioner Is failing her patients by not being informed and knowing the basics of reproductive health. Had she been able to answer those simple two questions, It would’ve made a difference in if I chose an IUD that was more sperm focused or an IUD that stopped implantation, as a form of emergency contraceptive. If the nurse practitioner with pale skin, Brown to reddish hair enters your room with loafers… RUN!
Michelle ishappy: What a nasty place.
elizabeth clements: I love Planned Parenthood! This location has definitely improved. I went in yesterday for an IUD. The midwife who placed my IUD was amazing! She had great energy, good vibes, she was so gentle, nice & patient & explained the whole process to me. I’m so happy I chose a great place to get this done.
Heather Johnson: The staff here have only ever been the kindest most caring people to me. I've been treated better when getting blood taken and having my immunizations done than with any professional Doctors office
Elisabeth Rademacher: My appointment was 3:30 an it was the most boring place I have ever been too
Summer Snowden: Painless IUD insertion! In and out within 1 hour. They accept my insurance and I was able to come in within a week of my appointment request! Danielle was amazing and can’t recommend her enough!! She was so nice and prompt! Thankful for PP and all their services to women
Michelle Canada: Made appointment 3 weeks ago was told that my pcp will only see sick patients when I told receptionist my concerns she asked the coordinator which made me appt for today. Got a call less then 1 he from my appt telling me that pcp will not see my hypertension and low potassium.
Mya G: Staff is amazing😄😄 I was very nervous at first but I was greeted with smiles and everyone made me feel so comfortable within minutes, they answered all of my questions and gave me many recommendations, I will definitely be coming back. There are some great women working here, doing a lot to help all of us out. Thank you all for such a welcoming and comforting environment.
Blake Abbott: They say no call is a good call but after 2 weeks I called only to find out they had lost my labs.. So I get stuck with a needle again wait another week and now they say blood was rejected. What should have taken a week has taking a month .Incompetence at it finest !
Amy Roppe: The staff here is amazing!
Lisa Hampton: Planned Parenthood offered me top notch OBGYN care in college when I had no health insurance and now again when I lost my job and health insurance in 2020. They’ve given me better care and customer service at low cost or no cost than many of the private OBGYNS I’ve been to where I’ve been billed thousands. I’m grateful to PP and plan on making a donation to pay it forward for the next woman who needs them.
Aphelia Johnson: This place is absolutely amazing! The staff is WONDERFUL and so welcoming! Lashay and Dr. Danielle were perfect! So nice and sweet I didn’t catch the first lady’s name I talked to when I came in but she had long pretty brown and blonde hair who was also amazing! I wish they did OBGYN because I would DEFINITELY go to them for all my needs
Vivian N.: This place has the worst customer service ever. I had to wait for a month, thinking that I would be abled to get my procedure on the day of my appointment. I came in and waited for almost an hour for the nurses and doctor to ask me the same type of questions and send me home with a pamphlet. I waited one month for a pamphlet. The place couldnt even schedule you and you have to either call or make the appointment online. I'm going to call my insurance. They are not getting paid for just giving me a pamphlet.

Saint Luke's Primary Care-Independence: what do users think?
shannon cantrell: This place has been the worst when it comes to getting anything from doctor lambertson
ashley morgan: I had a great experience today. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Kelby Schroeder was great. I felt heard I felt like I have a say in my care. I felt like she is working with me instead of telling me. Totally different experience from the Blue Springs office. Where the front office is rude along with the uncaring doctor.
Jacob C: Dr Jayne Bumgarner is the best primary care physician I have ever dealt with. Thorough and great bedside manner when I have seen her in person, and allows the option to message her for non urgent issues and responds quickly everytime. Cannot recommend Dr B enough
Blake Swearngin: They never answer the phone. If you stay on the line it will eventually hang up on you while you wait. Just trying to get some health care here but nobody ever answers.
tanya fowlkes: The office staff was rude, unprofessional while trying to be set up as new patient. If that is the care they provide upfront. Don't want to be seen there. Will look for another doctor
Chris Nunn: Elegant dishware that adds a touch of comfort to your meal planning.
Rudder30: Saint Luke's sent me a Text reminder and sent me to the Dr. Office in Liberty, which was incorrect. The people at the Liberty office were really nice and apologetic for the miss information. I call the Independence office and told them what happened, they said they couldn't get me in for two weeks. This was their fault, they didn't apologize or anything. I took off work to do this and they didn't care. Also if you notice the Independence office doesn't update their web site for what doctors they have on staff and also their voice message is incorrect. One doctor has been gone over a year and he is still listed.
Brandy Nicole: Updating my review because Dr. Werth is no longer with the practice anymore. I am now seeing Dr. Hamo who I love already. All of the staff is really friendly and helpful, and they call in refills the same day usually when I leave a message on their machine. Recently, I had to call them because I was not feeling well mentally (crying hysterically on the phone) and they returned my phone call within ten minutes and got me in for an emergency appointment to see Dr. Hamo. I appreciate that they prioritize mental health calls as much as they do medical emergencies. Dr. Hamo took his time with me and listened to my concerns and how I was feeling even while I was crying my heart out and discussed ways of coping with stress. It's nice to know the staff at Saint Luke's cares so much about their patients because that's honestly few and far between in healthcare nowadays!
Mary Hennessy: I like Dr. Guerra very much, would honestly give him 4 or 5 stars but the support staff leaves a lot to be desired. They are short with you over the phone and also in person. If I could see him without going through those individuals it would be much better!
Joe Hillebrand: Dr Werth always takes time to listen to my concern and is always reassuring. I can email him directly with questions. His nurse has always returned my call same day if calling by noon. The appointment side can use a little improving. I don’t think they always try very hard to work in an appointment. However, we have used the walk in clinic at the Saint Luke’s East hospital location
Timberley Hidalgo: I called very sick today, fever and head cold. Receptionist said leave message for nurse to call me in something, I did at 8:45am, I called back 9:30am, never heard from nurse for Dr. Guerra, I asked for another doctor, she said I must wait for nurse, no appointments available. She at least should of told me about St Luke's Walk-in clinic in Blue Springs. I waited to 1:15pm, nurse never called me, and this receptionist told me about Blue Springs clinic. They need train schedules better!! I'm very sick. At 1:45pm Nurse Amy calls leaves message, doctor out today, she has appointments tomorrow, while I just called earlier they said nothing till Friday. This place is a Joke!! Plus she said I should go to Hyvee for St Luke's walk in clinics. Why no one tell me this this morning, after I waited all day! Tired of this doctor office, looking for new doctors office!
mike Dines: Love my doctor and staff but at Luke's has everything so understaffed that a simple thing like seeing your doctor becomes this huge undertaking. Terrible. When I need my doctor I don't need her w month from now. Very frustrating
russell burton: Very rude to begin with. Got chastised for not regularily being there for a pro time. What he failed to remember was that he cancelled my last appointment 3 or 4 days before the appointment. When i brought this fact up he kicked me out of the office. I thought for sure it would be snowing outside from all the snowflakes.
Laura Shafer: I have been a patient for 25 years since Dr Steiner was practicing at Family Health off of East 24 Hwy. I appreciated the friendly and helpful office staff there. When I was sick they could usually get me in the same day. Ever since he moved to St Luke's Primary Care I have been disappointed. The office staff is rude and unprofessional in person and over the phone. (like mentioned in several reviews)Dr Steiner retired in Dec 2018 and I knew I was going to have to see a different doctor. I was sick a week and a half ago so I called for an appointment and they said I couldn't make an appointment because I hadn't seen a new Doctor yet. I ended up having to go to the emergency room with pneumonia. I was told to make a follow-up appointment with my PCP. I called on Monday and they couldn't get me in until Friday. The women that checked me in said my insurance card did not go through. I told her that my husband had just retired and we were going on cobra. I called the cobra office and they said it would take 7 to 10 days to put my payment in the system. The office staff didn't even try to help me. They didn't ask if I could pay out of pocket and when my insurance paid them they could reimburse me or any other type of arrangment so that I could be seen. I have always had insurance and what insurance didn't cover I paid.I only wish I could give them a zero rating.
Alli: Dr. Bumgarner is an amazing doctor. She actually takes the time to listen to your needs and I am always happy with my visits when I come to see her.
Lisa Stutts: So far my only complaint is how difficult it is to get into see someone. There typically is no availability to see someone the sameday if you need to get in right away for a problem.
Kelci Stephenson: I love the doctors here, but the front desk staff is consistently rude and inconsiderate every time I deal with them. They also make no effort to keep your privacy when speaking to you. If it werent for the doctors here, I'd go somewhere else just because they're so off-putting.
glenn Smith: Great and efficient staff, very comprehensive medical group!
Sandra Hedges: Love the doctors, and back office and front office staff. Very concise, helpful, friendly, and efficient.
Mr M: It's pretty calm there. Haven't had any bad experiences
Lance Warman: Unprofessional and rude.
