Estate Sales By Bonnie: what do users think?
Tonya Bryan-Long: Love Bonnie she the best sales.
jessie Dinkel: Owner is extremely rude! I came in at 3:20 pm. She told me to leave and come back tomorrow. She was helping another lady but said she was an exception because she made a special trip in promise to buy a large piece of furniture. Don't estates sales close at 4:00? Wasn't me driving all the way there after work a special trip as a customer? I'm unavailable to come the next day I have to work. I feel sorry for the family this woman owes them there time and money back treating people this way. Lack of integrity and professionalism.
Rai Freels: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHave always found them to be most helpful - I'm a senior with a balance problem - need to use a cane . When I go to their sales - they go overboard to make it easy for me - even to the point of carrying my purchases to the car. Thanks guys.
Paula Revare: I'm really surprised by the negative reviews here. Bonnie is awesome! While I've never used Bonnie for an estate sale, I certainly would should the need arise. I've been going to her sales for about five years. I have never had a bad experience. She is reasonably priced and will make you a deal if you buy several items. Bonnie is very polite and friendly. Her staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Can't wait for the next one. Whenever and wherever!
Barbara Wiltermood: She kept no record of what she sold of ours and for how much. I have had friends that came to the sale that said the staff was rude. They also said a lot of stuff was not marked with a price and what was marked was over priced. Now I know why she said she didn't want the family to come to the sale.
Ben Schlicht: Extremely Rude staff and owner! Items are 20 years old and priced at current retail prices... extremely over priced USED items... several other comments about employees hiding stuff for themselves instead of selling them for the estate... I would not recommend them to anyone... "No Anything" is their motto when it comes to problems with anything you buy at their sales...

Absolute Estate Sales: what do users think?
Devan Bleyhl: I am definitely an estate sale seeker... But I will definitely not make Absolute Estate Sales one of my top choices now that I was falsely accused of stealing a puzzle, when it was still right in the box, as I showed the woman with pigtails today that the puzzle was in fact STILL IN THE BOX after I was accused. I was so embarrassed! And I didn't do anything wrong for me to be embarrassed about! And after she had seen she falsely accused me, she still did not apologize until I had pointed out she didn't even apologize or acknowledge her wrongdoing.. then she did say sorry, but it was not sincere what so ever.. I was actually more insulted after she did apologize just because of the tone of her voice when she said it. IF I ever go to an Absolute Estate Sale again, if I walk in and see that same lady there, I will turn right back around and leave and take my business elsewhere. I honestly should have left my things and walked out, but I felt the need to show her that I have money.. and I can PURCHASE my items.. I don't need to steal from anyone.
Nat Hubbard: Clay and Dudley are a couple of the Best Guys to run an Estate sale, very helpful and Fair pricing. I always check to see what they have going when the weekend comes up.
michael ruble: Five stars for Clay and his team. They did a superb job on our estate sale. Friendly, knowledgeable, diligent. They were able to provide excellent service on very short notice. The results were beyond expectations. We highly recommend Absolute Estate Sales.
Brad Phillips: Clay was excellent to work with. He was kind enough to sell me an itemWhile being out of state. Every step of the way he was helpful. If you need help with your estate- he’ll go that extra yard!
Karen Crawley: In the past I’ve gone & currently go to many estate sales, but I particularly enjoy Absolute ES because of the considerate & professional treatment I consistently receive. I always know the prices will be fair, the general atmosphere will be friendly, and the people working there helpful. I recommend them unreservedly.
jim stringer: I love estates sales by Absolute Estate Sales. The crew is always organized, knowledgeable, genuinely considerate. Really good people. They make every sale, of any kind of estate, a great sale. I shop a lot of estate sales by various estate sale companies every year. Absolute is top notch.
Hydi Rob: One of the best Estate Sale Companies in the KCMO area. If you're a DealerCollector you'd be quite satisfied with pricing and the friendly and knowledgeable Staff.
Chad Cunningham: I have attended estate sales by this company for many years. I would say they do a pretty good job. They are a friendly company and worth checking out.
Robin Stanley: Our favorite of all the estate sale companies in KC. We have a ranking of all of the estate sale companies and there are a few we won't go to their sales. We always try to hit an Absolute sale. The people working are friendly and actually talk to you which is not always the case. Their prices are fair and they have good sales on day 2 and day 3 (or more). I have not used them myself to conduct a sale, but a friend has and she was very happy with them.
Ronald Brehm: Ive enjoyed coming to these sales for years. Prices are fair and the staff is always fun to banter with as well. Ive found so many of my favorite treasures here. Wish they had more 2 a week sales!
Mary Turner: The Absolute Estate Sales Team took all the stress out of my estate sale! Amazing group of professionals who identified & researched items for perfect pricing. They worked together, enjoyed their work and made it fun and easy for me! Highly recommend this company!
Nicole waters: I had a great experience with Absolute Estate Sales. They were courteous, prompt and went out of their way to help.
Christopher Miller: Hands down, the best and only estate sales I shop. Friendly and fair people. Well organized, and professional. Love Absolute!
Dawn Adams: Mind blown at how my Mother was treated!!My Mother consulted with this company to provide an estate sale several months ago. The dates were locked in, my mother worked feverishly to meet their requests to clear out items not for sale and prep her home. She coordinated the sale of her home, moving truck and assistance all around the dates she booked with this company months ago.Today, 2 weeks from the scheduled sale they inform her that the commission is more than originally discussed AND that they have decided not to provide the sale for my Mom as they no longer believe she has enough items to sale. My Mom literally has a 3 bedroom house and 2 car garage FULL of 25 years of items. Why would they lead my Mother to believe they had it scheduled and managed then dump her 2 weeks before the sale??? My Mom is devastated and her entire out-of-state move hinges on this estate sale that was scheduled with this company. This out-of-state move was the biggest decision of her life and she trusted in this company that completely failed her!!Talk about taking advantage of an elderly single woman!
J p G: The Absolute Estate sale family are awesome. Our parents home was 70 years of accumulated treasures that started in 1952. Just imagine a 4 bedroom 2 story home and 5 car garage full of stuff. Clay and his Dad Dudly and Crew were respectful and professional in setting up and having a 4 day sale on site of our Parents home were my Sister and I grew up. After the sale the Chartiy came in cleaned out what was left and are Non profit that help the Kansas City metro feed and provide affordable clothing for families in need. It's hard to let things go from your life time Absolute Estate sales will make this transition in your life so much easier. The thought of doing this was overwhelmingAnd intimidating but I have to say we made a wise decision to use Absolute Estate sales. Now that is over its a relief to now there's a professional company to get this done.My Sincere Thank You to Absolute Estate Sales and and Family and Crew you were Awesome.JP
Troy Boy: Such a friendly family/company. Prices are fair, and I always feel welcomed and appreciated.
cmthappy: I recently hired Absolute Estate Sales to handle my sale. I could not have been more pleased. They are “master merchandisers” as my husband said in arranging the contents of household items in preparation of a sale. They are efficient, friendly and helpful in every way that you need. You won’t be disappointed.
bfurious13: Critical:ValueVery Professional and Polite but the bottom line in Estate sales is selling product. Worst prices of any company I've been to, and I go to many. I write this after multiple attended estate sales, typically leave with nothing.
Northtowne Detailshop: I am glad I chose Absolute Estate to help with a 36-year accumulation in my residence.100's of customers got the marketing and lots of sales!I will use them again for a second sale at another residence. Great job !
Linda Coffey: It was a God-send to find this wonderful company to run the Estate Sale for my Dad’s house and my childhood home. My Dad had two homes- in KC and Texas but with failing health he was unable to care for both, so he decided to sell the house in KC and move permanently to Texas. He didn’t know how to empty this house in KC of almost 60 years of accumulated stuff! He had someone recommend Absolute Estate and I’m so thankful he did. Their team works so hard setting up and pricing everything and running the sale. A great crew all around!! The sale was a great success! Prices are fair and things moved well. Since my Dad was already in Texas during the sale, Clay and Dudly both were great at communicating with me about everything happening throughout the process. I wouldn’t hesitate one minute if you’re considering Absolute Estate. You won’t regret it.
M. Clark: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat company to deal with. Sales are always well structured and fair priced. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to interact with.

My Personal Estate Sale LLC: what do users think?
Kim Baack: Rufus came to discuss our dad's house and was rude, misogynistic, condescending, and didn't even go through his entire house. He said that Gen XYZ, veterans, nor baby boomers would be interested in anything we have in the house. We have antiques my mom collected for decades, high-end woodworking equipment, wood, and he didn't even make it to the garage that has hospital equipment. I would NOT recommend this business. In rebuttal to "the Degreed Professional Owner's" response - Rude is rude and has nothing to do with the value of the items in our house. I am also 'degreed' professional and didn't have any emotion to the items for sale. I was insulted by your employee.
Carla Valet: I cannot say enough good things about Rufus and his team.My husband and I were buying the home where he was having an estate sale. We went, hoping to pick up some of the beautiful items in the home.I sent Rufus a text telling him we ended up with some of the paperwork he would need for items that were to be sold in the home. He responded quickly and made sure I had the information regarding the sale so I could see items online before the event. The first thing I noticed in the pictures provided was that plastic was put down to cover the floors. As the new homeowner, I was pleased to see this precaution as I knew many people would be wandering through the home. When I got to the sale, I was BLOWN AWAY at the detail taken to assure every surface possible was covered in heavy butcher paper to prevent any damage, even the stairwell and handrails. The prices were fair, and I was able to buy several items. The crew was great and pulling the items I was buying and putting them back in a closed off room, so I didn't have to move them out of the house only to then move them back in later. The staff was amazing! Although they were being pulled in all different direction and many were trying to get them to help them all at once, they were always polite and friendly. The thing that stood out to me was how each person that entered the sale was greeted, given the staff members name AND asked for their name. Each person was given a friendly, warm welcome.I ended up spending most of the day there and was able to chat with Rufus. He shared his business model with me, and I found him to be very detailed and thorough. When we did our final walk through before closing, just a day later, I found the house left perfectly clean. You would have never known an army of people were romping through the entire home.
William Brenner: Rufus came out and met us same day I called, he explained how estate sales worked and advised us that our mothers townhouse wasn’t exactly a good place to have a sale. We talked and he gave us a lot of advice on what we could do in our situation. He gave us several companies to call and supplied contact information for each one. We appreciated his input and will be using his contacts to move forward.
Debra Spicer: I think this might be the first review I have ever taken the time to do but believe it was warranted. From start to finish, Rufus and his crew were amazing. I was dealing with an unusually difficult situation and Rufus did everything possible to minimize my anxiety. Totally organized items prior to sale, generated an impressive number of sales and cleaned up everything after. House was ready for new buyer and I didn’t have to do any additional clean up after sale. Can’t say enough good things .I have attached a few photos to show how extensive the clean up was!
Alyson Wilbers: Fair pricing!! Always willing to make things right with you. Rufus is by far the best in the business. We will always attend his sales.
Diana L: Rufus Johnson and his team did a remarkable job with helping us reach our goal with my mother's estate. The goal? Sell all the stuff and at age 97, mom had soooo much stuff. I researched My Personal Estate Sale online prior to contacting Rufus. Once I listened to his presentation, I knew this was the company with a plan that would successfully reach my goal. Their philosophy is different from most estate sale companies as they run a one day sale with items priced to sell from the get go, not playing the retail game of one price on day one and lowering the price in subsequent days. The team worked efficiently through set up and sale, remaining items were donated, 'junk' removed, and the house swept out prior to the team leaving. All of this, and the estate reaped twice the dollars than a company who buys everything offered to us. I highly recommend this company for your estate liquidation needs.
Kathleen Cross: I cannot stress how much I was pleased with Rufus Johnson and My personal estate sale this business is an excellent business in all ways All personnel are very professional Rufus and his wife are very professional everything is done in a timely manner and I was always advised every step of the way times that they came to my house were very punctual everything was just perfectly done I highly recommend this business for people either moving or for those who are staying in their house and just wanting to reduce a lot of excess items
Brandon Domann: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI've been doing business for years with Rufus and his company. He has always been very helpful and he took time out of his busy day to help me move a very heavy bedroom set when he didn't have to. Rufus goes above and beyond expectations to help his customers. Always a very pleasent and professional experience.
melvin woods: Rufus:This is a note I received from Beth Sims.Melvin ,Thank You for giving me Rufus’s name & number .Simply stated , we were Most Pleased from Start to Finish !!Beth
Doug Harris: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Betty Simmons REMAX Infinity: Rufus Johnson spoke at out Landlords of Johnson County meeting and everyone enjoyed his presentation and I appreciate the way he handles dealing with Estate Sales. I too belived that the 3 day estate sale process is too long and cutting it to a one day sale makes so much sense! I can't wait to attend one of his as that has always been a fun hobby of going to estate sales...when I have time!I also like how he explained how the process works. I look forward to having him as a referral partner when I have someone that needs to sell their personal property...to downsize, and estate or to move out of state.I look forward to working with Rufus and his him in the future!
Jake Ponzo: Wow! I'm so glad I took the time and listened to Mr. Johnson's presentation. So - you think you know all about estate sales? Think again. Most Estate Sale companies overprice items and then slowly mark them down over the course of THREE DAYS to sell which is an inefficient process as most customers don't return. Do you really want your house trampled through for three days in a row?The My Personal Estate Sale Company, typically, has a one day sale and the items are priced to sell. They research items based upon fair market value for used merchandise and thusly have a huge following. After all, they are in the selling business, right? This makes for a much more convenient buyers experience, allows more time for the seller to tie up any future loose ends and maximizes the return for the client. This was the most professionally run Estate Sale ever witnessed, according to my friends and neighbors who attended my sale.* 99% of my items were sold.* Carpet and floor protection were put in place.* My sale was adequately staffed to prevent theft.* End of sale reporting documents were professionally presented to us.Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the results of my sale. They have a great business model.
John Ponzo: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWe interviewed several estate sale companies before deciding on this one and we're happy we did. Rufus and Jennie were very professional, informative and friendly. The sale far surpassed our expectations in all facets. Check these folks out before making your decision. You will not regret it.
Samantha Jackson: I met with Rufus regarding a small liquidation sale and he spent more then a hour with me explaining the process and how his team works. He was very professional and caring. Though there wasn't enough inventory to support his business requirements he referred me to other resources that would better fit my needs. He was extremely helpful and a great resource. I've already told my church community and family about his business and the services he provides! He was very trust worthy and honest I would highly recommend him to anybody who is in need of estate liquidation services.
Renee Cooper: If I could write the review with NO STAR, I wouldMy sister and myself met with Rufus Johnson today and it was a complete disaster! Rufus is rude and u professional. Rufus sked if we looked at his website and what we knew bout estate sales. I replied with, "it's when a company comes in a sells your items for a percentage." Rufus then said well not exactly... we have to qualify the items and there has to be a need for said items. You have to have at least 25 items that would sell for a minimum of $100 eachI said we have that bad he rudely said, "I have to qualify if you have any of those items. It's based on generational value. Baby boomer Gen XYZ etc... Rufus got upset because I wasn't looking directly at him as he was telling me about another company's website. He sked , "Are you paying attention?" I said excuse me, who are you talking to? I'm 54 years old and not a child. Then he proceeds to tell me that he wasn't trying to be rude. I had to remind him that throughout his entire visit he was being rude and condescending. I told him he was being rude and had been speaking to me in a condescending manner every since he came to our home. Rufus got up and said something that I couldn't really understand. I interrupted him and told him his services will not be needed and then I asked him to leave. As Rufus was leaving he walked out the door and said," And for the record I'm 60 years old." I told him to have a good day and followed him to the front door. Rufus Johnson needs a refresher course In Customer Service 101.
Wilma Hahn: To ANYONE needs personal help at a difficult time for professional Estate consultation go to Rufus, the president , of the company. You will meet an angel who cares about helping people by providing immediate helpful information on what avenues to pursue - Rufus even made an appointment for me on the spot with a company which might be a more suitable match for our limited personal inventory. We also received a tutorial in history of Estate Sale trends and actual records of recent successful sales from small to large. Because time is of the essence for our circumstances to liquidate items for the sale of my sister's house to provide funds for a move to a facility to oversee her decline due to Alzhemer's disease, Rufus pointed me to efficient directions spending a great deal of time with me. this afternoon. While I was prepared to not being a candidate for a large estate sale, I never dreamed that someone would spend that kind of time to advise us on practical options. He has a rich and fascinating background , knows everybody and demonstartes a generous business like practice of seeing to it that this client was not left high and dry with no one to turn to. He did a great Miztvah for our family today. Wilma Hahn
John Komen: Rufus and his team did a great job of organizing for my estate sale! My neighbor was moving and had another estate sale company. This company he used brought their own merchandise in each day. The purpose of this sale is to sell your stuff so you don’t have to move it! So the company was competing with your merchandise. The other thing was stuff was so high it was not selling! Rufus has a one day sale merchandise is priced fairly and is a good bargain! I was very happy how well my sale did!
joan petrick-giglio: Rufus and his team are very professional and passionate about their work. When you meet with Rufus he explains the process in detail. From laying down cardboard to protect floors, and cloths for granite. His company reduced our stress of moving. His clients always come first. He has a great following of customers. I would recommend his company to all.
Jeremy Applebaum: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessRufus and his team have taken great care of my clients over the last year! They felt that their estate sales were very successful and that the customer service they were provided was very timely and professional. We look forward to connecting more of our Real Estate clients with them in the future!
Carla Brewer: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessMet with Rufus about the possibility of having an estate sale for us. He was very honest and helpful in helping us to determine what we needed to do. Spent over an hour with us discussing our possibilities, gave a lot of good advice and direction. Would recommend this gentleman any time. Thank you, Rufus!

Painted Penny Estate Sales: what do users think?
Karen Ridgwell: We used Painted Penny when our parents moved into independent living and were downsizing. Dan was incredibly helpful and the entire process was made much easier and less stressful for our family. He always responded quickly and had solutions for every problem that arose. The house was left completely empty, except for a few personal items that we had overlooked but they found and left for us. Altogether a great experience during a highly stressful time.
Jody Thompson: Great estate sale company, with reasonable prices and excellent customer service!
Victoria Gray: Could not be happier!! Seamless process, professional, well communicated. Expected much less revenue then we ended. Painted Penny quickly set up the sale on-line, priced them appropriately, communicated throughout the process (especially given I was from out of town) and helped arrange the clean out so the property was empty. I am so happy with every step of the process. Wish every other process of settling an estate could be so well executed!
jasmin trout: This is a great company for an estate sale. They are professional, on time and handle all of the details. Our sale went ver well and the pick ups we
James Dyer: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueGreat communication, phenomenal customer service. I cannot imagine a better company to handle an estate sale: diligent, honest and professional.
john dollar: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWe have been attending estate sales for 20+ years. In that time we have experienced scores of different estate sale companies. The Painted Penny is at the top along with one or two others in terms of professionalism and high ethical standards. AAA+++ JC and Carol Dollar, Blue Springs, MO
Zach Becker: First, let me start off by saying that the people who run this estate sale company are always very nice and friendly. They make the guests feel welcome. The sales are well organized and the presentation is strong. It makes for an appealing shopping experience. However, the prices are just too high for me to give it a higher rating. I resell stuff online and I find a lot of my inventory at estate sales. I'm familiar with almost every estate sale company in the KC area, and Painted Penny's prices are definitely towards the top of the scale. Even on 50% day, I rarely find anything I would consider a deal. I occasionally bring friends or family with me to estate sales, and several have been dismayed at the pricing here as well, so it's not just me. Some of the stuff is high end and I understand needing to make profit, but the prices are usually marked at or above what I could get for that item online. eBay has access to millions of shoppers worldwide, but even then, many vintage items can take months or even years to sell for that price. Also, the majority of items in peoples' homes are not heirlooms and are simply everyday, used items and should be priced accordingly.Again, the people who run this company are very nice and the sales are organized and professional. If you are not a deal hunter and are just looking for a relaxing, pleasant estate sale experience, I think you will enjoy this company's sales.
Sandi Klebenstone: I couldn't have asked for a nicer, more efficient group of people to work with. Even though we didn't need the estate sale process, Dan @ Painted Penny coordinated and organized the clean-out of my parents' home. The clean-out crew came prepared and were completed finished in under an hour. These are a great bunch of people, very community-minded, and helpful beyond belief. I definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future should the need arise
James Brox: We had a great experience with Painted Penny Estate Sales this week. They have very good customer service, and their pricing was very reasonable. They worked with us and gave us a real good price on the items. When it was time to move our purchase, they provided 2 men to help load the items in the truck. We attend many estate sales in the area and Painted Penny is r at the top of the list with their great customer service. Can't go wrong dealing with them.
Lynda Ragan: We had Painted Penny help us when mom moved to assisted living and they were fantastic. They are a pleasure to work with and did a wonderful job setting everything up, conducting the sale and then getting rid of things that didn't sell. I would highly recommend them.
Aljoal A: It was a pleasure doing business with this company. They are focused on your satisfaction. Very friendly and professional.
rosemarie currier: They have beyond helpful, they have done a wonderful job, picking and packing. I will definitely use them again. Thank you Dan, Lynne and crew😁
Sandy Fiocati: I always have a thoroughly enjoyable experience when attending their sales. Reasonably price items. Kind and respectable service. These are super nice people to do business with. Thank you! Sandy
Ed Beckert: If you want a very pleasant experience go to a painted penny estate sale. The people running the sale makes you feel welcome and they are most helpful and they appreciate you shopping with them. Everything is priced reasonable and well displayed.
Deb Crouse: Friendly, helpful and efficient. As a customer..who could ask for more!? They even helped dismantle and load the bed we purchased. Nice bonus. Thank you!

HSH Estate Sales Inc: what do users think?
John F: They don't know how to price items appropriately. Very expensive compared to other estate sale companies in town. I was very disappointed with H-S-H estate sales. They have super high and unfair prices compared to their competitors. They charge full price on the first day and only offer 25% off on the second day. They don't even have a lot of quality items, mostly junk and outdated stuff. They also have poor customer service. They are rude and unprofessional. They don't answer questions or help with loading. They act like they are doing you a favor by letting you shop at their sale. I would not recommend H-S-H estate sales to anyone. They are a waste of time and money.
Lorraine Lackey: Prices were as high as Wal-Mart on items bought from there. All items marked way over value.
marie wyly: Just left the sale on Holy Street. Made you wear the blue booties to go inside the house. 5ft into the I almost fell twice wearing those things. We turned around and left! Take your life into your own hands! BEWARE!!!
Shana Fernandez: The lady at register , decided that price they marked on item had been changed by someone! Implying that my husband did something, to their price tag. So Rude. My husband is Latino! Just to let you know! Left without giving them dime. Sorry not sorry
Shane Sanders: They used to do a great job but they seem to have really changed.
Cocoa Bean: Dishonest people who are rude to customers. Do not purchase anything from them!!
Joelle Hick: I don’t know why they bother to put a sign up of set prices (with additional “unless otherwise marked). Clothing is $4 per item, but EVERY single piece was marked up. Shoes were $5 each, but again, every single pair was marked up to at least $15 - most of them around the $40-50.Save yourself the trip. Every article of clothing, dish, or collectible can be found cheaper on eBay.
Callie V: Wayyyyy over priced
callie vargas: HOLY COW THE PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. You can get collectors glass at antique stores MUCH cheaper than what they were asking. Which was $40 for a set of 4 small sundae cups! $10 for a tiny miniature cup that was literally smaller than my pinky finger! Even at %50 off you're still paying FULL PRICE if not MORE! you're better off antique shopping in stores! You'll pay less and for higher quality! SMH 🤮🤮🤮
trent browne: Rude. Unprofessional
Matthew Jeffrey Howig: Used to be great but not anymore. We got there early and waited. My wife even helped one of them up after they fell carrying things in. After the sale opened, prices were as high or higher than ebay with no returns?! One of the ladies followed us throughout the entire house(both times all three levels) as we were by far the youngest people there. . Very off putting and very rude. Has permanently lost our business.
KC Girl: I give this company 1 star only because the initial response time and meeting with the owner was professional. HOWEVER, all went downhill after that. Stall tactics were used when trying to schedule dates should've been my first clue of what was to come. Complete disrespect of the home - messes and broken items were found while they were setting up for the sale. Items went missing and unaccounted for and large items were omitted from the sold list with money unaccounted for. When we questioned the company, we received a lot of double talk. If you use this company be prepared to deal with headaches and a bully!
L B: You cannot trust HSH to stand by the prices that they put on items. HSH also badly over prices things , which is bad for clients and customers (see pictures). If you are looking for a good estate sale company that will organize a professional sale look in to another company.
Chris Mangiaracina: Worst place ever at running estate sales! Not worth even going to them. It's like its there first time doing it every time. They have no idea what they are doing. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.
Samantha Mangiaracina: I attended an estate sale with this company and left very disappointed. Not only were the employees rude when asked questions about how estate sales worked, they also have signs posted about being able to make bids on items greater than $50 but didn't stand by that. They allow people to take tags off items and walk around with them until closing to take advantage of the better discount, when customers are standing at registers willing to pay the posted price. This doesn't seem like they are doing the best things for the person who hired them.
Patrick McWilliams: Always great, organized and clean sales!
Christian Hostetler: I’ve been going to HSH estate sales for probably going on five years. I personally know the owner and most of the sales staff and I’ve never known them to be obnoxious or rude in all the time I’ve been going there. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the competition putting on those bad reviews. I immensely enjoy going to their sales and am disappointed when they don’t have one!
Mark Holloway: We had a great experience with HSH. They handled our sale very professionally and followed through with all promises. A very nice experience especially under the COVID conditions.
Tom Montgomery: I normally would not be doing something like this, but reading some of the reviews is unreal.Approximately 11 years ago, I walked in Henry's Antiques. I was so impressed on the operation of the business. So impressed, I'm still working for the company.I have worked in the estate sales for most of the approximately 11 years and have been blessed to meet 100s of people we have done sales for and loyal customers who visit every sale. Being a business owner for over 40 years no matter what you do or say, sometimes there are problems. The honesty and hard work by the owner and the employees is incredible. The work that goes into setting up and holding a sale is a task one would not understand unless involved. I know 1st hand because I work from day 1 to being the last one to leave the home and remove the lockbox.Sure, as with every company, at times there are problems. But, in the outcome they are taken care of. So please, understand that even though there are a few, " not so good " reviews. Doing 50 to 100 per year keeps lots of us employed and many very happy clients and loyal customers.Tom Montgomery.
Kevin Kitsmiller: To Whom it May Concern:I just wanted to drop a quick note to your company and inform you that your crew working 600 NE Rushbrook Dr in Lee’s Summit Missouri on Saturday 2.29.20. Acted extremely disrespectful to your client and the customers trying to make purchases.I was in the property for 30 min and in this time I personally witnessed one of your HSH Estates Sale Employee’s instructs/yells at my wife to “Stop that man” As a customer was walking out of the house that paid cash for two fishing poles. The woman at the register was not aware there was another employee gathering cash from cash paying customers in the middle of the room. Why she would yell at my wife is beyond me. No apology given to the poor man who’s integrity was being called into question in a home that your company was entrusted to work/respect. Nor any apology given to my wife for being told to ascertain the gentleman that had paid one of your workers in the living room.I was given much dis-respect in this home buy the very employee that was taking the cash in the living room. I was asking where by chance they re-located one of my items that was on the hold table when you kicked everyone one out of the house 15 min prior to going to 75% off. She was rude and first denied moving the rug. Then she claimed it was sold. As we pointed out our third person was stationed inside the front door and no one had left with it. She changed her story yet a third time saying it is not hidden and is still in the house and how they simply moved it. To the garage or downstairs. Well we had already retrieved all of the items that were hidden in the downstairs and garage. So after she lied a third time I reminded her that she is doing her client a huge dis-service and you are lying in a home you were hired to help sell and pay respect to the family/estate.My wife, brother and I placed our items down and walked out. It really upset me and the parties I have since shared this experience with not over a silly rug that I am sure one of your employee’s stashed but over the lack of respect you showed your client and disrespect to the estate. This is the left over pieces of someone’s life. Your employee’s working at this address on Saturday have no business working HSH Estate Sales. Unless this is the image you wish to promote.I see no need to continue to promote your estates sales in our church bulletin or young adult news letters until I understand better your policy and how these actions can be avoided in the future.Regards
Alexandria Binkley: have no clue why people are still using this company for their estate sales. there’s a very good chance you won’t get your promised money back in a timely manner and they will lie to you about your own estate sale.
