Mackenzie Keintz: I have done a lot of escapes rooms, and this has been by far my favorite. The theme is on point from the moment you enter the building even before the game started. Excellent actors to guide you into the room from the very beginning. The room is appropriately creepy, if you don’t like scary thing this may not be the room for you. The mechanics of the room are excellent with a nice combination of physical locks and mechanical effects. The room progresses in a logical way without having to make large logical leaps to solve puzzles. Overall, this was an excellent game and would recommend it!

Kayci Harris: My son, grandson and myself had a GREAT time. I was VERY hesitant to participate but it was so much fun. Communication was the key and once we got going, we caught on. Did we make it through, NO. I am afraid we were “killed”. Lol. Would go back for sure!

MarLa S.: This place was easy to find and in a great location. The 2 young ladies that were there during my game time, were super nice, sweet, professional, and helpful. It was my 20 yr old daughter and I who were paired with a very nice family of six. We did the surgery room and it was more difficult than fun. Had way too many tasks to think out and solve. Our group barely escaped. The tasks were made too complicated even for 7 adults and 1 teenager. The staff is really amazing though.

Les Bro: It was definitely a game for some brain power. Be prepared to think. 😄The employees are nice. They explain things well.The room was nicely set up.The area and parking lot are clean and safe.

The Horn’s: We are from out of town and were looking for something to do before we went to dinner. So glad we found The Exit Room! We have been to other ‘escape room’ businesses before and this is far and away the best one we have been to. The staff is friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming back and trying our hand at one of the other rooms in the future!

Sarah Stephenson: We had such a great time doing the Grey Project room!!!Any time we were stuck, they were there with awesome hints that didn't give away the answers directly.I would say if you do The Grey Project, bring 3 people. We had 2 and didn't finish in time.(He let us have an extra 12 minutes since we were close and only had 2 people. We finished in 1 hr 9 min when it's only supposed to be an hour)All in all, great experience! We will be back!

Tanya Allen: My daughter and I took my dad on his first escape room experience yesterday for his 70th birthday. My mom just passed away a few months ago and we have all been dreading the holidays this year and I could tell my dad was not looking forward to this birthday. I took my daughter to an escape room a few years ago when her boyfriend broke up with her. It is such a great distraction and even if only for an hour or two, it releases your body and mind from the entrapment of life and the pain and sadness we, from time to time, have to endure. My dad had so much fun and for the first time we saw a genuine smile, a tiny spark of happiness. We will definitely be back!!!

This experience has a healthy mix of logic, physical and interactive puzzles. We have played many games and this for sure ranks in our Top 10 games. They had it all set up for us, there is a kitchen for any food you bring in, and best of all, karaoke!! Highly recommend Tick Tock for a birthday party or just a fun afternoon at an escape room!

Didn't see many pictures of the room so decided to attach them to this review. The owner gave us a tour of upcoming rooms. Overall the owner is a great host and very fun. Recommend this place for parties and team building events.

Dale MacKinney: Really enjoyed this Egyptian themed escape room. Did it with my ten year old, another about ten year old and his parents. Good amount of puzzles for 5 people. Got out with just 18 seconds to spare. Got some cool effects and ideas. Don't be afraid to ask for a few hints along the way. Worth checking out!

Over the course of the year that we were here my husband and I have tried all 4 rooms including the newest one (Dentist), and they were all fantastic. The Manhattan Project was difficult but also my favourite so far. The staff are always friendly and know just when to help.

Andrea Dunn: We came here over the weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had a group of 6 with 4 first timers. It was an amazing time. Bruno met us at the stairs and was a great host! He explained everything and even took a few minutes just to chat with us. We did their newest room about the dentist, and plan to come back and do the Manhattan Project one next!Seriously, this place is great! The manager that we met at the end was super friendly as well! The atmosphere and puzzles are so unique and make you feel great when solved. The employees are very informative and very kind and helpful. Definitely worth your time :)

Christopher Organ: We had an absolute blast. My sister and I frequently go to escape rooms and this one is really unique. We have done The Manhattan Project and Dr. Boyles Dentistry, so far. The staff has been extremely friendly and accomodating which always makes for a great experience. Definitely would like to complete the other rooms and will be keeping an eye out for if and when new rooms become available.

Shay Rogers: Amazing escape room. So well done!!!! Puzzles are unique and fun. The Merlin room was so much fun we ended up doing the dentistry the same day. People were so nice and enthusiastic about the work they put into their rooms. Such an amazing experience. Leagues better than any other escape room Ive done so far (including breakout). I cant rave enough about this place!!!

You never felt “bored” with the flow, as you are constantly needing to do something. I’m thrilled that a Haunted House company is adding the Escape Rooms and wish they could add more! We truly need a “Horror/Haunted Escape Room” someday!

Melody Davis: Our kids had a great time in the Merlin's Ghost Room. The staff were very kind and welcoming and it was a fun place for our son's birthday! They do not have party rooms and did not respond at all to our messages asking about that. One note: I recommend not prepaying for a large group unless you are okay paying for people who get sick and can't attend. You can only reschedule the entire group on a reservation or no one at all.The Merlin's Ghost room was really fun. Not scary at all, but mysterious - and being in the old historic building gave it a very special atmosphere.The room had some really fun elements and hidden extras that made it exciting.I would definitely recommend this room as one teens/tweens could solve on their own or a great first escape room for families with kids. It isn't too hard, but is still lots of fun.Kids can actually help find and solve many of the clues in the Merlin Room. We had a group of four young teens and a few adults. We thought it would be harder and were out within around 30 minutes. It was a lot of fun, but we would not have rushed so much on this one had we known it was so much easier. There were still challenging parts, just no need to rush.The other rooms sound much harder - we've known some large groups of adults who didn't escape them, so we will be back in the future to try the Tool Room or the Manhattan Project.The Merlin's Ghost room was not scary. There were a few areas with black lights, but nothing scary at all - just fun. Would definitely recommend it for kids.The staff was also very kind after the room was solved. They gave us time to let our kids talk about their experience and hang out for a few minutes to wish my son a happy birthday.One thing we were disappointed in was that part of our party got sick and could not attend. We knew there were no refunds, just reschedules, but it wasn't clear on the website that after prepaying, you would have to reschedule the *entire* group if *part* of the group couldn't come.So, when you are prepaying for reservations, keep that in mind. You cannot reschedule some of who you prepaid for. You have to reschedule everyone or no one.I recommend not prepaying for a large group unless you are okay paying for people who get sick and can't attend.You can add people to your reservation later, but you can't reschedule just one person or even half of your prepaid group.Our choices were to either cancel for everyone and reschedule the whole party (and it was my son's birthday, so that would be pretty disappointing), to find someone last minute to fill the empty spot, or just lose the $30 we prepaid.We called the business office and asked for a credit for the sick person or to reschedule the one person who was sick to another day, but they would not do that.So, we ended up paying for a spot we didn't use, which at $30 per person for 30 minutes was very disappointing. This was already a stretch for our budget. We invited a parent with our group to step in to use the spot, and the experience was fun, but I wouldn't prepay for more than 2-3 people in the future.So, my advice: get a reservation for just a few people (since you have to prepay to reserve a specific room and time slot), and then add on to your reservation on the day of to be sure you don't pay for anyone who can't come. Unless your budget is looser than ours and you don't mind paying $30 extra for something you can't use.The other thing that could improve was that there needs to be reflective tape on the low spots where you bend down to get through - two people hit their heads thinking they had cleared it in the dark.Other than that, we definitely recommend it.

Sara H: We completed the Ghost of Merlin over the weekend. I don't know if my group is pretty smart or if this room was easy but we completed it in less than 30 mins! Actually, it was disappointing that we completed it so quickly. We will definitely be back for the others. The fact that these rooms are part of the haunted house attraction is pretty cool!

Jenna Aldridge: Wow. This was SO much fun!! My college friends and I live in 5 different states, and we converged on the KC area for a reunion. Three of them had never been to an escape room before. The Jungle Room at Inside Out set the bar incredibly high! I’ve been to several, but none come close to the ambiance, the creativity, the awesomeness of this room. We were so pumped when we left. The picture on the website drew me to choose them, but it didn’t do justice to the surprises we encountered when there. I can’t recommend this enough. I generally don’t write reviews, don’t take the time, but this place beyond deserves it! We also got to see a sneak peak of something they’re working on, and it’s definitely on the agenda when I’m back in that area! Thank you for being a highlight of our trip!

Maddison Craye: This was our first escape room, we did the jungle room and it was a lot of fun! Very well designed and kept all three of us engaged and investigating for almost an hour!

Jacob Wheeler: The Jungle Escape Room was unique, challenging, and fun. The staff was fantastic! Based on the complexity of the clues and setup, you can tell the staff put a lot of hard work into the room. Would definitely recommend trying out a room if you're in Excelsior Springs!

At times we needed clues to continue but our host gave us just enough for us to figure things out when we hit a block. Our host was excellent and apparently had as good a time watching us make mistakes as we did trying to solve them.
