Music Gear: what do users think?
Michael English: This is a nice place to buy, sell, or trade your music gear. They always have a selection of guitars and amps, along with other, less common it we ms.
Justice Bernal: Excellent selection of quality vintage gear, with a good support for local builders in the music community, you'll find more in store than online, so definitely check 'em out! :-)
Jeff Cordray: As a guitar player, I love this store! Everyone there has been very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. As a customer, I have both bought and sold a guitar there and I am more than satisfied with the business we have conducted. They have an excellent selection of guitars, at virtually every price point you could want, from beginner to pro to serious collector. Plenty of amps to choose from as well, although I'm not as familiar with them. As an alternative to the more generic, big box stores, this place can't be beat, imo.If you're looking for a more personal touch, along with with an outstanding selection of guitars and amps that are not your standard fare, this is the store for you. Not to even mention the style and ambiance of the place! It has a very distinct resonance that any musician will instantly love. I highly recommend checking this place out, I seriously doubt you will be disappointed! 😉
Tom Trudeau: Nice vintage guitars good prices
Kyle Weber: Awesome owners, treat customers with respect, knowledgeable and always willing to go the extra mile. Great store with a good variety of equipment. Fantastic deals on gear. I highly recommend you go here before Guitar Center. Local owned and operated no corporate B.S. very professional and fun to staff.
Danny Brown: They have a great selection of music gear
Joseph Sorensen: I've done a lot of business there and they are doing a great job for me.
David Morgan: Knowledgeable, friendly and laughed at my corny jokes!
Rick Jordan: Music Gear on the Independence Square is a treasure. I live an hour away, but today I made a special trip that turned out to be gratifying and productive. Rob and Burt are remarkable people. They take care of their merchandise. They always have some instruments in stock that take my breath away because they are so original. They relate to customers with warmth, respect, and grace. I enthusiastically recommend Music Gear.
Roger Dispenza: Great place. Great gear. Excellent shopping experience.
Tucker Porter: Great store for used music gear. Fair prices.
Andy Porter: Excellent shop. Rob has good products at reasonable prices.

Dale Vits: Awesome place to buy or trade music gear Rob and Bert are very knowledgeable on vintage guitars and basses as well as sell new music gear. I have done many happy deals with them throughout the years. They are friendly and fair and treat their customers like family. Curt Fish: Great people running this store. A surprisingly large collection of instruments and amplifiers for a little shop. They haven't seen the last of me.
Eloisa Medina: Great selection and knowledgeable staff. We can't wait to go back.
Jake Kinsch: Very cool place, lots of neat stuff and the folks there are very nice and helpful
Johnathan Dutoit: Guy was nice.. but told me thumbwheels On the bridge weren’t created until the 70s. Factual research proves otherwise.
Jeffery Payne: Great little shop, has a good little bit of everything and friendly staff.

Explorers Percussion: what do users think?
Tim Romero: Sad it's closing
Jenn Claar: Going to miss this place!Best instructors in town!
Justin Rollheiser: One of a kind store. Drummer's paradise! It's a shame they're closing, but happy retirement!
thewesty: These folks have been in business in a niche market for 35 years. They're doing it right by taking time to understand their clientele individually. From beginner to Mike Portnoy, they've got your percussion needs covered. Please keep them thriving by stopping in once in a while.RIP in peace Explorer's. As of 3/31/23 they're closed forever
Jessica Snyder: You will be missed!
Simon Joly: Cool place and good service. Wide selection of cymbals ans vintage kit. I wrote an email one week before heading in but never had news.
Justin Clay: I love this place so much; it got everything to buy for us, like Drumset and stuff, and you know
Dead Bug: No better spot in town. They got the folks with info. Leave GC for those whom play with their fingers.
Ben J: I’m a longterm but infrequent customer of explorers. I’m not primarily a drummer but they always make me feel welcome. I recently came in to get a ride cymbal to replace one I’ve never really liked. They let me taste test a bunch if options while staying within my budget. I left happy a month ago with a killer Istanbul 20” and am still happy. Thanks for another great experience
Gage McClanahan: The customer service was amazing and the store was really cool, I will be returning for all my percussion needs.
Ric Gillmore: Easily the best music store in the area. If you're a drummer or percussionist of any kind, it should be illegal to shop anywhere else. 😎🤘🥁
Z: They have stale listings on reverb and on their site. When you reach out or ask about it, it "just sold." Reverb offer was declined, no counter offer. Three days later, Lorene sends a message stating it sold "elsewhere." Right, just like when I inquired directly about a drum kit two weeks ago they have listed "in stock" on their site...same thing...offered an alternative color that was expected in a week or so...never removed the original listing I inquired about at all...still on their site then and right now. I became a customer when I purchased a set of cymbals costing more than $1000 three months ago. They were decent on the phone, Lorene handled the transaction. Well the set came without the cymbal bag inside I inquired about. I messaged Lorene and she said that it was "strange" as she supposedly set aside a specific set that she verified had the bag. When I called in at first she claimed there were no bags in these sets...which is why I was not moving forward and looking elsewhere as this was a gift for someone special. She calls back a few hours later verifying that "ohh yes it does come with a bag inside I don't even know that thank you for telling me." Well, I placed an order, it got here minus the bag. Apparently they set aside an "already verified" pack yet sent a "sealed" one by accident...I told her direct email it did not contain the bag as she stated...since the sales rep on the phone just pushed the issue to me emailing her....well still to this day she never followed up on the bag yet she claimed she was reaching out to Zildjian directly about this...False advertising (listings of items they don't have in stock to gain your interest) and deceiving customers is not a way to earn business in this industry. She tried to charge me for shipping on the drum set I inquired about two weeks ago that "arrives next week" when everyone else is doing free shipping on the product brand new 45 day warranty included. She did follow up on that with the wrong color sales push, yet failed to get bag to me on the gig bag she assured I would have in the package. Lorene, next time do as you say and stop posting ads in which you don't even have the stock for listed as "in stock." Based off of your replies to previous negative reviews I will not entertain your reply and take ownership of your mistakes and maybe then you can grow as a business and an individual.I will be sure to stay away from Explorer's Percussion and I encourage you to leave the same review if you are experiencing the bait and switch listings too.
Keith Lehman: Explorers is the drummers paradise. First, walking in to a beautiful display of a mixture or achoustic kits set up and a nice hardware display. Second, a great cymbal section where they are well displayed to test and compare. Third... No annoying guitar players trying to impress everyone with their latest solo shred!!But seriously, the people make this place the best. They are so helpful, knowledge and take the time to recommend what they find works well for them. I have to drive an extra 15 mins passed Guitar Center to get here, and I'm happy to do so!!
Joseph Sorensen: I've done a lot of business with them and have had a good relationship with them. They have helped with most of my needs.
Kage Song: I had a bit of difficulty with communication, and felt perhaps an unnecessary sternness that felt a bit... angry with me for attempting to squeeze and save pennies I don't have to begin with. However, they had a selection of items I was not able to easily find in my budget. I guess I could also wish they were a bit more knowledgeable though. I would have expected someone running a full percussion store to have enough general knowledge to warn me that something may not fit correctly. Fortunately, I was able to solve that myself.
Rick and Tricia Townsend: Customer service was excellent, went in for first time, greeted on entry, had everything I needed, and ordered a want not a need for my 28 inch marching bass drum. I will definately be returning.
Sayer Canova: Nice large store with plenty to feast your eyes upon. Awesome staff, kind and helpful and cool to discuss all things drummy. Excited to return!
Michael Vasquez: Wish I had come to you guys first. That was a fast transaction. No problems at all and the price was fair
Amy Rice: Nice selection of a variety of folk, world, and classical percussion. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable also.
Ronnie Mills: Thankful to Loraine and the staff for helping me order my first DW kit! luv luv luv - y’all made the experience fun.
Ruthann Ellis: These folks know what they are doing. Great selection, special orders and knowledgeable staff.
