Charles Palmer: Got married a couple of weeks ago and rented tuxes from City Nights. If you go, you might think the location is a little hard to find, but don't let that stop you from hiring them! I started researching tux rentals right after the engagement and they easily had the best price in the city for the suit I wanted. As we got closer to the wedding and needed to get fitted, it was clear he took pride in making sure the suits were a perfect fit. All of the suits were perfect and were completely comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to hire City Nights again!

Tiffani Brennan: I recently got married and had City Nights Formal Wear took care of the suits for the wedding. The groomsmen ranged in height from 5' 9" to 6' 7" yet each man's suit was perfectly customized to fit him. The Navy suit was perfect and he gave us swatches so I could match the vests with the bridesmaids dresses. He even worked with us for a groomsmen that was 6+ hours away and couldn't get fitted before the wedding. Everything was perfect and timely. Prices were reasonable and Mr Horn was able to be there when the guys were available to be fitted. My wedding coordinator was happy we went with him because she has noticed that the suits and tuxes are always perfectly altered at City Nights and she couldn't say the same thing about larger more well known companies.

The dresses are European sizes and that is not the shops fault. I said yes to my beautiful dress. They ensured that I will have my dress done and ready. I am so excited to say I Do May 22, 2021!!!!

Hanna Davies: I am not the type to write reviews, but after what I have experienced at this shop I have to!!!As a plus size woman, trying on dresses can be a challenge considering most designers send sample sizes to shops that carry their dresses. I called around to multiple stores and very few carried any bridesmaids dresses about a 12. When I called amore they said that they had a few plus sizes that could be tried on. When we arrived to try on dresses there was not a single dress in that designer above a 16. This of course made deciding which dress to purchase more difficult, especially when you are paying $200+ for a dress.I was measured in my bust, waist and hips to find out what size I would need to order. When we referenced the size chart, it came out that my bust was bigger than the largest size dress available. I never in my life, have ordered a size 28 in anything. Now, with that being said, I understand that dresses tend to run small. No big deal. The woman then tells me that I will need to order an extra yard of fabric which when the dress is altered can be added to make the top bigger to fit my bust. A yard of fabric runs for $50 a yard. The dress itself was $220. She then tells me that they charge extra per size after a size 22. Once everything is all said and done, my total comes out to $341, for a dress that I have no idea what it will look like on, nor how it will fit. Not to mention during all of this, the woman that was helping us was very, very pushy and quite rude.Fast forward 2 1/2 months later. The bride gets a call that our dresses are in. I am thinking great, I will finally be able to see what this will look like on and figure out how much it will need to be altered. I go pick up the dress, the extra fabric and pay the balance that is left. I get home, put the dress on and to my surprise.... IT ZIPS! AND there is a ton of room in the bust, along with everywhere else.Here I am with a dress that is now way to big, a yard of extra fabric that I do not need, and I start questioning the measurements, the size that was ordered, and why I paid the extra money when I obviously did not need to. I thought that I would just call Amore and explain what is going on, surely they would understand. After this I took measurements myself at home, to find out that according to the size chart I did not need a size 28, but a size 18, maybe 20 if we were being generous.I called Amore today, and first spoke to a young lady. She was very concerned and said that unfortunately she could not do anything and that she would get me with someone that could help. Another woman comes on the phone, I explain to her the situation and according to her “these things to happen and that there is an ease in all dresses that is around half an inch which could explain why it fits” I told her that “no mam, it is not just a little loose, it is way too big.” She claimed that all dresses size different and that basically you order a size while you are “backed into a corner hoping that it fits”. If that is the case, why even take measurements? If all of the dresses are sized differently why have a size chart? She then tells me that they cannot take back the extra fabric because the designer does not take it back. She claimed that all dresses are dyed together and that if they took this fabric back it would not match any other dresses of that color. Which, I am sorry, but come on... Seriously?After what turned out to be a pointless conversation about the sizing of the dress, I then mention the extra charged and the money that I am out. So not only am I out the $50, but I am also out the extra money charged for it being over a size 22, and I am going to have to pay the extra money to have it altered to where I need it to be. She did not seem like she cared, nor that she wanted to make the situation right. Her words were “these things happen”.I am very, very upset with how this was handled from start to end. All I can say is check your measurements if you do decide to go here and think twice before ordering.

And keep telling her she shouldnt try it, they told her to come pick up today and that if she tried it on they wouldn't repress it. She took the chance and tried it anyway and it was not complete.. now she is going back Thursday to get itWhy would you tell a bride to not try her dress after you guy have altered it! Shouldnt she try it after it was changed to make sure it's good fit?

A D R: I wouldn’t recommend them, very rude and snobby people. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Went in with my two year old daughter to look at their wedding dresses. I wasn’t going to buy one just yet, I wanted to look around more before I made a decision. Went in, saw a couple of dresses I wanted to try on and take a couple of photos. Go to a couple other places and do the same so I could look at them and decide what dress I wanted. Told the lady and she goes in a very rude tone “this isn’t a modeling store and next time you need to make an appointment, you are taking up other people’s times.” There was no one in the store. No one! She even looked at my daughter in a disgusting way . My daughter was just sitting there quietly. I was on the phone with my husband the whole time. I went back to my car and cried. I ended up going to David’s Bridal’s. Don’t waste your time here!

She even came in on her day off to let me come back and make my decision. I went in to get my new suit tailored and after they bossed me around and failed to say anything, they simply handed me a slip of paper with an illegible itemized list. They were trying to charge $100+ for basic hemming of pants and an unnecessary millimeter sleeve take in. I was in shock, and told them thanks but no thanks. They seemed to be glad to not have my business, and alluded to the "nice area of town" as the reason for their prices being this high. Seriously?!I grabbed my things and ran, and would suggest others to do the same.*Update to this: Went to Barash's at 95th and Mission in the Ranchmart Shopping Center, very friendly, fast, and instead of $100+ she quoted me at $37.00 out the door.*

Mike: Where do I begin? Our tuxedos had different colored bow ties for our new years wedding with different colors pins between I (the groom) and my 4 groomsmen. We found this out the morning of the wedding. We had to scramble the morning of the wedding and the guy who I picked up when I called didn’t even have the audacity to apologize for dropping the ball on the big day, nor did he make any attempt to make it right. The only solution offered was “we might have the correct items, I’ll check” with absolutely no follow-up from the store. Thankfully, my dad showed up with his own personal extra bow ties…they also asked for a tip after taking measurements and they still got pant sizes wrong for my best man, by 6 inches mind you. They ended up getting him correctly fitted pants. Unfortunately, tip top tux was the most negligent and unprofessional vendor I interacted with. Maybe go with Jos. A banks, who happens to be in the same shopping center.

Eddy Link: Service at initial measurement for two tuxes seemed good. We were promised pickup availability early in the week to ensure no fit issues / but the tuxes weren’t available till late Thursday / Friday. The tuxes had an Awful fit. Pants, vests and jackets that were so oversized they looked as if they fit for a clown costume. Shirts, jackets and pants were raggedy and over worn. One of the jackets wreaked of body odor. The store adjusted length on one pair of pants - otherwise no one at the store seemed concerned with our complaints about fit and quality. Out of desperation we took the tuxes - but never wore them. Instead we spent the next 24 hours begging and borrowing tux components from friends and family. When we returned the tuxes on Sunday and told the staff we were unable to wear them due to quality issues, the staff just grabbed the tuxes, and said Thank You and moved to the next customer. We would not recommend this place and will never ever ever rent here again.

Kevin Shaw: We went in not expecting much, and left knowing this is the place we will be buying from. Selection 9/10, customer service 10/10, prices 10/10. And to think we were going to go choose men's warehouse. We checked this place out on a whim.I wanted to do an update, because they dramatically messed up our order. We decided to try on the outfits a couple of days before the wedding. Half of it didn't fit. We panicked. We called them up, fairly upset but remaining calm. They fixed everything and had it ready the day before the wedding. Just in time. Even though they had messed up the order, they were calm, professional, methodical and fast. I am leaving it as a 5 star, because even though there was mistakes; they owned the mistakes and fixed them professionally. They didn't get defensive or confrontational even once. We had our special day thanks to their hard work.

Sam Yoakum: They get a star rather than 0 just because Joe was great on wedding day delivering missing pieces to tuxes that shipped in ON WEDDING DAY…and I can’t do 0 stars. Tip Top Tux, more like Tip Top Sux! The amount of unneeded stress during wedding week that they gave me….tuxes didn’t come in until Thursday, and they were 0 for 9 on the first try. So then it was Friday and Saturday that stuff arrived.

Neil Pinnick (Neil): Terrible experience, asked for 2 weeks prior to the destination wedding to have e it expedited and I offered to pay and was told the tux would be ready the day before. It wasn’t ready till well after noon the day before the destination wedding. We trusted it was right and while we should have checked the set up it was horribly wrong. They sent gray pants that were a full size small and short and a dress shirt with sleeves clearly made for a toddler. Horrible experience and even worse communication from the store. If I could give this a negative star I would have.

Mackenzie Carnes: Used them previously and had no complaints. Booked them for my wedding and were responsive until the week of. We had no idea if we were getting the tuxes on Friday the day before the wedding. The staff were no help and said they could do nothing to help us except called when they arrive. Super disappointed

The sales associate who help us was Joe, we picked out colors and tuxes, my fiancé got his measurements, he also informed us there was a promotion taken place and if we were to set the appointment before or on 06/27 my fiancé and he’s groomsmen would receive a discount. We asked Joe what all we would need to make the second appointment which would include ALL his groomsmen, word for word Joe said “you’ll want to call and let us know when you’ll want to set your second appointment for and on that day your groomsmen will need to have $60 as their deposit for the tux” Ok fast forward, yesterday my fiancé called to set the appointment up for him and his groomsmen and OMG was it the worst!!!! For starters he (he being Joe, THE SAME GUY WE HAD OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH) couldn’t find us in them systems which means he never took the time to actually put us in the system like he made it seem like he was doing. We were literally at this place for over an hour on the 5th and we are being told that NOTHING was input. Secondly, Joe was saying.... well did you put a deposit down that day to hold your fitting as well as sign a contract. AGAIN, we asked this man WHAT ALL WE NEEDED and he NEVER mentioned the following. As my fiancé was trying to explain this Joe kept over talking my fiancé and being rude! We ended up calling corporate to explain what happened and thankfully there were of service and helped in a real way HOWEVER the service was trash the second time around and you don’t treat customers as so especially when they are going to end up paying thousands of dollars!
