City Theatre of Independence: what do users think?
Michael Moran: Great entertainment value. I've seen professional for profit productions that didn't have as much talent on display.
Lori Ventura: This is a gem of a theater in Independence. Not a bad seat in the house, sound quality is good and the ushers who greet you are so nice and helpful. I've been twice now..Steel Magnolias & Moonlight & Magnolias. Both great!
parker bender: The show was kind of strange, but the space is nice and things were generally pretty good! Will definitely go again! Lots of talent there! Only one old lady in the front who couldn't stop playing candy crush. Ha.
Dianne Ballantyne: Independence, MO Encore Theatre and Children's Performing Theatre did an awesome musical performance of "Matilda." Great costumes and acting.Enjoyable evening at the Sermon Center!
Rhonda Zacharias: Saw Matilda. This was a great musical!
Jasmine Lowe: Really comfortable chairs! Fun show
Warnee Venyard: Enjoyed the Encore play. Actors did a great job.
Randy: Went and saw "The Miracle Worker" and I was moved to tears. Abigail Keith as Helen Keller was subtle and moving which is an amazing feat for a child actor playing a role with no lines. Her performance was all movement and motion, and subtle changes told her story. I was impressed and will DEFINITELY come see another.Tickets are very affordable, this is a good way to trick a date into thinking you're classy!
Beth Mcknight: Good performance of the Miracle Worker
Lisa Auvigne (Lisa,s Scentsy): It was awesome and very wheelchair accessible. They even had interpretation for the deaf. It only for last play of each show.
Mom by Love Robart: Fabulous performance of miracle worker! Loved it!
Rachel: My kid liked performing here
Kimberly Storey: The performances by these children is phenomenal its a must go see!
Wayne Simmons: Community theater at its best. Check out the Children's Preforming Theater, for the young actors in your family, City Theater for continuing actors and Encore for retirees. This program is supported by the city, but mostly self-funded from ticket sales and other fund raising. Volunteer as backstage crew and enjoy the fun and craziness of stage life without being front and center. The people involved with these programs are the best! They love the theater and their dedication can not be surpassed!Or if acting and/or crew aren't your thing, stop by for the performances! Recent plays include Willy Wonka, Annie Jr, A Few Good Men, and many more. Check Sermon Center for dates and times.
Terry: Excellent, greatly enjoyed Anny. Intament seating, not a bad seat in the place!
Maegan Isabell: Went with my grandmother to a play here. Was not even aware that there were plays held here. Fun, energetic, and the ticket prices were fair. Had a wonderful time with my grandma. Thanks so much!
Ken Mathis: What a treat! A very good dinner and the theatre experience was surprisingly good (and genuinely hilarious). This was our first visit here, but definitely not our last.
Ryan Fleming: A lovely theatre with comfortable seats and clean bathrooms. That's all I ever want to know before going to a show
Brandon Stites: My wife and I watched the play (Mid summer nights dream)
Steven Smith: A great, cozy theater with excellent sound and lighting and a stellar local troupe.
Holly Meeker: Beautiful place.

B&B Theatres Twin Drive-In: what do users think?
Lynn Monger: This place is a part of my childhood
Patrick Beyers: Love going here on the Weekends to hang out & watch movies & chill.
Kathy Dominguez: Just isn't the same without the speakers. Unless your in your vehicle or right beside your door so you can hear your radio, can't understand the words. I doubt we will be back.
jes holman: What a great step back in time! This isn’t the exact nostalgic experience of yesteryear when we set that clunky ole speaker up in the window for sound. Now there’s a closed circuit radio station airing the soundtrack to the movie, so you can tune in with your vehicle or bring a radio! Most people use their vehicle sound, it shouldn’t be necessary to run your car to do so as long as your battery is good, but you could start it occasionally and be fine.Pros:-$22/car load for TWO MOVIES!!-They have a very nice snack bar area (compared to other drive ins) but you’re welcome to bring your own snacks as well…just no grilling-plenty of room to park and make a comfy space to watch the movie in or outside your vehicleCons:-the line to get in was VERY long and VERY slow, so make sure you get there really early, but even getting there late we still got a good spot!-not avoidable but worth noting, etiquette of other customers can be iffy, so don’t be ‘that guy’ and run your vehicle the whole movie making it hard for others to hear, and PLEASE turn off your main headlights (use fog lights) if you enter/exit while the movie is showing…that’s like turning on a flood light in a movie theater! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️If you’re expecting a bougie experience, don’t bother! But if you like the idea of a nostalgic mash up of camping and the cinema: DO IT 😁
It's all Good: Had a blast and they charge by car not by person. Best Drive in around
janee denney: We love coming to this theater every year. They have great prices and a fun atmosphere
candace middleton: Great movie and funnel fries!
Kevin Nelson: TWIN DRIVE -IN: The contact phone number is useless, only an automated outgoing recording and apparently there's no way to actually speak with a live individual.
Marrissa Gazafy: Always been my favorite drive-in theater
Sherry Schaefer: Very disappointed in the quality of the first movie. It was so dark you could barely see it. My 10 year daughter went up and asked if there was something that could be done to make it brighter and they were VERY rude and mean. She came back in tears. Never again. Save your money and frustration and DO NOT GOOD!
Anthony Jarrett: You can watch movies outside
dj chambers: Ticket sales it was a terrible situation
Sherell Jackson: Popcorn was great! No lock on the women's bathroom stall. Absolutely no hot water. LITERALLY. You turn the hot water knob and nothing comes out. Turn on the cold water and only cold comes out. The fact that every sink was like that was crazy to me. Will not be returning.
Apollo Ludeman: Great vibe on Saturday night
Ashley Kallas: They have really gone down hill on customer service and quality. We used to love coming here but after talking it up to friends and coming with a large group the movie started and the sound quality was terrible! We went to ask them what to do and confirm we were on the correct frequency and we were told to deal with it or we could leave and get a refund but there’s nothing else they could do. So save yourself the money, work getting there and setting up and time and just go somewhere else. We even tried to switch sides for the second movie with hopes of the transmitter being more clear and the refused to do anything to accommodate the exception in order to give us the experience we paid for. So sad to see an old classic in our area turn into what it has.
Herbert Howl: Got here early to get in to get a good parking spot and a big truck parked in front of our car and we couldn’t see the movie, had to move and loose our spot. We showed up earlier then early to make sure we got a good spot
Chris Campbell: Best drive in Been going here my whole life lucky to have one Left
Justice Alboro: Is it charged by car or by person ?
Edward Rapstine: My girlfriend and I attempted to come see a movie here, and once we did it was excellent! That said, figuring out when this place is open was nearly impossible. Their website has been down for at least a month, calling to ask for showtimes led to nothing, and even driving up ourselves led to no avail. It took lengthy dissecting of their Facebook page to find out that they’re currently only open Thursday through Saturday, and that the box office opens at 7:30. Overall the experience was lots of fun, but hours, showtimes, etc. need to be much more clearly communicated.
cutie101girl lou: Good drive in experience.
cyndi untch: We enjoyed. But did not enjoy having our grandson with us and all the weed smell. A little respect for those that don't would be nice. Won't go back unless that not using is part of their policy like the no grilling.or movie switching.

AMC Independence Commons 20: what do users think?
Quite Observant: Huge theater chairs that are made of leather I think. Recline to just the right point.
Maggie Stewart: Great theater.
Matthew Schlotzhauer: Not enough employees at the concessions
Joe: Haven't been to this location in a long time. It's now a complete disgrace. Absolutely filthy, the Freestyle machines - at least the few working ones, are in shambles. All of them have the grill the cup sits on removed. Bathrooms look like a truck stop.AMC either needs to clean this location up and get it back on track, or sell it off.
Terry Tucker: Time with son and granddaughter - very enjoying
Hanna Lagud: Our today's visit was my 4year old daughter's first experience in a movie theater specially watching The Little Mermaid's first human character movie. She had a blast. And to note, the confirmation of our ticket does not arrived on time but the Customer care staff helped us quick to print our tickets when we arrive in the theater. So, it was fun!
MurphmishForever.v.3.01 MurphmishForever.v.3.01: Seats are so comfortable. Come on the right day and you have the whole theater to yourself.
Steve “Steve Elliott” Elliott: Man the theatre is nice. Come at the right time of day and it's all yours.
Quite Observant V: Wonderful.
Jacque Myers: My. Family have always enjoyed AMC 20.
Jasper Loren: Was fasting for a medical procedure and asked if I could have a medium cup for water just to have something to drink. Of course I was denied even though I said they could even fill it up. I understood people try to get away with trying to trick the cinema just for some soda but this wasn't the case.
Tell the Truth Everyday: Nice size theater
Marci C: Great theater, good soundtrack, excellent seatting. Very nice and clean.
Rensheil Bickford: Amazing experience with staff and the movie. The seats don’t recline all the way is my only complaint. Overall great. 9.8/10 rating.
Peter Petersen: Staff members are friendly and helpful. Being that it's summertime, going to the movies is a great place to cool off.
Lynn H: Love the changes that have been made. It's very interesting and way more comfy. Update: some chairs don't work properly but was still good overall.
Cassidy Srock: I hadn't been here since pre-covid. The place looks a lot nicer and being able to order concessions and have them brought to you is pretty cool. We were here to see the new Spiderman Multiverse movie at the IMAX. The movie was great. The people behind us were horrid. They had several small children (ages 4-10, probably) and they would not stay in their seats. They kept bumping and jostling my family's (me, my husband, and our 9 year old) seats and running up & down the stairs. At one point someone propped their feet up on the back of my husband's seat so their shoes were right by his head.We gave the adults several annoyed looks but didn't want to start an argument in the middle of the movie. Nor did we want to miss part of the movie to go get an employee to deal with it which probably wouldn't have done any good anyway & probably still would have caused a confrontation in the middle of the movie. It seems like they are trying to get on the level of The Alamo downtown but that's going to require a few employees to hang out during the show to keep a lid on things like this. I almost got kicked out of The Alamo once for checking my phone during the film; that seemed a bit overblown to me but I prefer it to 'kids gone wild' after having spent that much money to see a movie & get popcorn & a drink.
Mr. J.t plays: The seats didn't fully recline it got like halfway then it wouldn't budge
T Hooks: My theater of choice. Never had a bad experience. Always clean, good food choices, clean restrooms, good movie selections, etc.

Pharaoh Cinema 4: what do users think?
Melody Myers: Old school charm with modern camera equipment to show new movies. Good sound for the movies and seats are comfortable. Will definitely go back.
Marrissa Gazafy: Loved this theater before the remodel and love it more after the remodeling. Great upkeeping since then and love the concession stand, and all the options to choose from.
Larry Wright: Home-town theater with friendly staff!
Nika Stacks: Nice theater, nice location. It can use some upgrades far as foods & beverages. Prices change for tickets you'll save more going day time instead of night if you're on a budget.. location a 10. Pricing on food/beverages a 5. Seats were comfortable..theater was clean.. the downstairs bathroom had a odor but besides that it was a great experience & also if u go 9 times u get the 10th time free 🤝🏾
Katie F.: I love the small town gem that this is! I love catching a movie here. Clean place, and nice employees. Plus... Their popcorn is the best!
Sharri Duty: Love to see a movie here! (Saw Guardians 3). Not crowded. Not freezing cold inside. Friendly staff.
Brian Johnson: Great place to watch a movie!
Joseph Nolan: This theater is great! Staff is awesome and theater has that classic feel.
Natalie Sowards: Amazing service!
John O Tierney: The owners and staff are so kind. Also, no questions asked, they have the best movie theater butter popcorn.
Cassidy Srock: I took my daughter here to see the Super Mario Bros Movie. It was the first time I had been to a movie theater since Dead Pool 2 came out. First, I was freaked out by all the theater shootings after being in a mall shooting, then I had a panic attack during a Star Wars movie, then COVID happened. So, I've just been avoiding movie theaters for YEARS. But we caught a showing in the early afternoon. The theater was super cute and not crowded everything was clean and everyone was friendly (full disclosure: I didn't use the bathroom so I don't know how that was.) Also, you can order tickets online, which I did.
Humberto Garcia: Cool small independent theater
humaniguess: Prices are quite high for food and drinks but they didn't seem to mind when I brought my own
Tee Brae: staff was very rude to me my friend and my girlfriend we brought in free tickets to watch a movie and because my girlfriend takes care of her stuff and the tickets looked nice not crumbled up he was calling us liars because we had explained that she has been saving them up for a while and use to live 4 blocks from there i will make sure everyone i know steers clear of that theatre and i will never be returning due to very rude staff
Marc Walker: Love this local theater.
Sherry Button: This a great theater. My mother-n-law who is 82 has difficulty walking long distances, and since the Pharoah is right off the street, and their parking lot is close to the building its easy for her to go to the show. Our favorite theater! Easily accessible, clean, the people are friendly, reasonable prices, quiet, family friendly and the best popcorn in town!
Brian Ruiz I: a comfortable and familiar place. 🙂🙂🙂
Robin Claibourn: Old theater but good prices and movies
Ashley Anderson: Went there on a Saturday night for the first time recently and there wasn't near as many people as other theaters I've been to which I liked. The staff were all friendly. It's close to where I live so I'll definitely be returning.
Ryan Anderson: Wonderful experience! Great vibes! Impressive staff gave excellent customer service! Clean and welcoming facility. Popcorn tasted amazing! We'll be back!
Jakob Keehler: This dude working there, Christian. Gave me an extra Pepsi when my school went there. So that's pretty cool. he should get a raise😉
