Nikkie Byrd: I would give it 0 starts. But that wasn't an option the teachers are abusive both physical and emotional. They treat their students like inmates and if your child is ever there watch how those treach treat them. This place is no place for any child
Stephanie Taylor: In 2003, I took GED preparation classes from January to May and the staff were amazing! I received my GED in July, passing on the first try.
Gamer_Sick: Worst school in the district. ISD in general is just horrible. Don't ever send your kids here even if you didnt have the choice.
Christina Harris: This school is an amazing place to learn and get educated and the teachers are very helpful and they take the time to teach you and give you space to learn the teachers also take time to get to know you and teach students on a level that everyone understands. and the education level accommodates everybody's specialized learning level. P.S I'm a student lol
Harris06 02: My child had posted her opinion on this school and was later told to remove it and post something more positive. Seems like bullying to me. They can restrain and harm your children and not be held accountable. Understanding that my child had behavioral problems but I was under the understanding that this is why this school was an option. Because it was suppose to be a safe environment to learn and thrive. What a hoax this turned out to be.Signed... a concerned parent!
Snake Griffin: This place gave me another chance at a brighter future. And it helped me graduate on time. The teachers were more than accommodating and they were more than willing to do one on one. The class sizes were about 10 people sometimes smaller. I'd highly recommend this school. Thank you Independence Academy for giving hope in my life once more.

Sabrina Napier: This school continuously calls me about a girl wanting to speak to her father Xavier. I tell them every that I don't know him and ask that my number be deleted. This buys me a week until they call me to ask if I can pick her up because she has a fever. To tell me that she missed school. To tell me when she was late. I even called the vice principal and explained the issue. That only bought me a month. Now it is back to step one. Now I have texts and calls multiple times a week again. So much for privacy. I know all too much about this girl.

TJ Swiger: Graduate from 1968; those were great times. Faculty was the best.
Travis Perkins: I worked here for about a year and a lot of the teachers are awesome! The students are well mannered and care about their education. The school is only going to look better with all the upgraded and renovations they are doing.

Viva Kroeger, CTNC, Life coach: Love van horn, the kids feel like it is a safe environment, they do very well here, the teachers work with the students. Awesome turn around here. I have had three graduate from here, two there now and two coming up. ... wouldn't have them any other place.
