Melissa Hatfield: Independence school district doesn't help children who have learning disabilities. They neglected my child's need for years, denying her testing and saying she didn't need the help when clearly she did. With no guidance I finally figured out how to go about getting her help, this year she was diagnosed and now they say, they will forward her evaluation on to the school district but can't start anything over the summer. Such a joke of school district and the amount of bullying that goes on in the schools is disturbing.

Charles Kiper: I clearly do not understand. How does a school district that prides itself on character traits. Hire so many discriminating bullies? My daughter who has O.I. only wants to cheer for Truman. Yet the cheer coach Ms Parrish has shunned her. The Athletic director Mr Bieser has also told lies and hid behind his desk. But, what really takes the cake is Ms. Amy Chapelle. The 504 coordinator. She stated in a 504 meeting today. " I don't care what you say or what her doctor says. she is not cheering for basketball." It was the rudest thing I have ever heard. I was beside myself. Here the 504 coordinator for the school district is discriminating. Saying these things in front of my daughter. I was so upset. All I could do was leave. Is the world so bad that the lady whom suppose to be helping my daughter openly say " I can discriminate any time I want". Well I dont believe what this woman said can be the way it is . She needs to be fired as do the cheer coach and activities director Mr. Bieser. You have all discriminated against Lacy for the last time. I will contact all the necessary gov. Agency's, lawyer, advocacy groups as well as news stations. These children have rights. The legal way will prove your wrong. Your not fit for your position.

Bj Walker: Student bathrooms are not clean and barely any toilet paper in them. They should be sanitized especially since we are in a pandemic and they have order all kids back in school. What’s the use of a mask if bathrooms are unclean?

Jessie Davis: I enrolled my kids over a month ago. I have left numerous messages, and called the school direstly. They sent emails and no one returns my calls. School started a month ago and they still are not enrolled. Just wow i feel like they care about their education enough to ignore us.

It is a constant in this district of pure evil. If you are looking for a school district that is fair, trustworthy, genuine, values education, with no racial bias, organized, and has integrity, you will need to look elsewhere. Sorry, but this district has none of the above. For the sake of your children, choose Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, Kansas (Overland Park, Olathe, etc.) or private school. Good luck!

karen messer: well I gave them 1 star only because it makes you choose at least one star other wise I would of gave -10 because independence school district has went down hill they have police officers in the schools but they do nothing but sit in there office. They don't take care of the bullies they allow them to continue to bullying and threaten the good kids.

Heather Roush: Went to get a new chrome book for my daughter after talking to the help desk yesterday, I went in and was told by Amy at the front desk that they didn't have any and she couldn't do anything for me...Rude very Rude! I called the help desk and informed Jamie the help desk person that I was being told that they didn't have any chrome books, Amy comes yelling down the hall ..."we can't do anything for you and he's gonna tell you the same thing"..Rude! Jamie spoke to someone higher up and got me a chrome book! Avoid if you can! No apologies just rude looks on my way out!

Creole Cletys: Once again, due to the failure of Daryl H., the "man" who introduced himself to me as the "big boss" of the transportation department, my child's safety has been knowingly put at risk by Daryl H. & his refusal to provide a bully free safe bus ride for my child. His rebuttal was " I'm sorry if you think I failed in my job". Really? I think you failed big Daryl H., when his fellow bus mate Jordan beats him, & screams at him, & harasses him daily, destroys his possessions, all the while the inattentive bus driver ignores everything. The basic order & structure of an assigned seating schedule would remedy all these problems. My child is terrified of riding the bus due to Daryl H's disciplinary constipation & negligence. I have had only one recourse, to inconvenience my disabled American Veteran Father, in his failing health, to be the sole safe transportation, that Daryl H. " The Big Boss" refuses to provide. This is not a new issue with Daryl H., these issues have repeatedly happened with my other children & each issue falls on Daryl H's stagnant, deaf, non caring, non doing anything about the chaos on his buses ears. When I asked him if he would do nothing if his bullies killed my son, if he would continue to wait in inaction while my child's lifeless body laid in a chalk outline waiting for justice that would never come, Daryl H. "The Big Boss" simply rebuttaled, "If you are displeased with the job I am doing, you can call my boss Dr. Stout at the school district." I replied "Why would I call another educated stuffed shirt who will do nothing about my son being bullied?" I hung up, is this what the Independence School Transportation Department has become? No longer are children guaranteed, a safe, bully free, harassment free, assault free, criminal activity free ride to school. Will my son be a victim of Daryl H. & his incompetence? How much longer will Daryl H's bosses tolerate his incompetence & negligence. Will Daryl H's excuses serve as my only comfort when his bullies successfully put my son in the grave?My lawyer will be contacting you further on this matter. Daryl H. you should be ashamed of your conduct, it borders on criminality.

Silas Mai: Independence school transportation is stupid at their job. Even the school are stupid it self. Ask at the beginning of the school year to have my kids sit together but the two youngest have to be separate. Also told them I didn't want my kids sitting near certain kids. Nope, they didn't care, they placed the kids everywhere. Kids got into trouble for standing and fighting with each other. My kids was getting bully on the bus, and the bus driver didn't do anything. My kids would tell the bus driver what's happening, and they'll just scream "sit down". 3 months into getting bullied, my son had enough and defend himself, and got suspended for 3 days. My younger son got a bloody nose from getting hit by a bully on the bus, and they didn't take action until my wife went to the school. Independence is dumb and stupid period, can't wait to move out of this area.

warren Ayres: A known bully remained on the bus. He decided to pick a fight with my son. When my son defended himself he got kicked off the bus for 10 days. The bully was transferred to another bus.
