Genesis Health Clubs – North Overland Park: what do users think?
Jonathan Ator: Overall mid.The touch points could use some replacement. The weights are strewn around like a bunch of old legos.I don’t think the floors have ever had any sort of wet cleaning.
Mike Pirner: I really enjoyed this gym in the Prairie Life days - back then, the hours went to midnight and they had a full basketball court. Then "The Athletic Club" made a mess of things and went to 10 p.m. and the basketball court was cut in half. I've inquired before and was told the plan was to go back to midnight after covid and they were discussing bringing back the full court - neither have appeared to happen, so not a member for now.
J S: The facility is old and moldy and I canceled my membership a few month ago but they still charge my account and haven’t got money back for extra charges. I don’t think I will be a member.
Mike Elliott (fruitygangles): They must be paying people for good reviews or something. There's just a permanent sign up about one of the front doors being broken, with no apparent plans to fix it. Their dryer is always broken so you have to bring your own towels from home. At least half of the showers are out of order, with no plans to fix them. Do you see the pattern here? You're paying monthly to workout in absolute garbage conditions and the way these managers operate is truly despicable. FIX YOUR GYM AND START RESPECTING YOUR PATRONS.
Cameron Hunter: Joined because they have a basketball court. Was told that they would be doing renovations but until then would keep the court maintained… they haven’t. I have requested the nets to be fixed 5 times. I even had to bring a ladder myself to fix them twice. Now this is what they look like.
Brisendine Fam: Rodney’s Zumba classes have really helped me get back my strength and balance. I have been able to go on crazy hikes and started running again. All because of Rodney’s classes. He has great energy and is alway positive. It doesn’t matter how uncoordinated I am he makes it super fun. Thank you Rodney.
Dee Brown: Great customer service. Top of the line amenities. Great equipment. A++
Shantez Brown: Enrolled during a special , well a day after but I was told I would still get the rate of the special at $76/mo . During enrollment I paid around $80. A week later I was charged $90 & told that I was paying for the month and the week before was a prorated amount . I haven’t been at this gym longer than a month to be being charged for a month . I spoke with Ryan who advised he would speak with his manager about maybe not charging me until April 1st. No one called back I called a few more times . He advised the manager wasn’t available offered free thing. Said he would call back & nothing . Cool gym but the taxes and fees are a bit much . If you are charged incorrectly they may not be able to do anything. Other than that it’s okay .
Davis Frick: They have all the equipment you might need whether starting out or pursuing the ultimate fitness goals. Great service and the helpful people here would happily do their best to make this the best gym out there.
Ryan Larsen: Great gym!
Sharath Reddy: I have been visiting Genesis gym on and off for couple years now. I had a very bad experience with one of the location in Overland Park, KS.I asked them to close my account from June in May because I was traveling out of country for couple months in June. There was no proper person handling the closing the account. I kept mailing them about the closure. Once I am back from my vacation, I saw the account is still active. When I confronted them. The management was completely changed and they were not at all helpful and in fact blaming me that I might have forgotten about cancellation , that was very humiliating. I know I am not going to get my 150$ back but hopefully someone else can read this and avoid this location.Every time I went and asked in person the new manager keeps telling I will call you back and he never does. It is so disrespectful that he keeps on lying to my face.
michiah frayer: Best place ever
Brian Stanton: Jaylen is the best and the gym is clean and very nice equipment. Come by and check it out.
Layne Armstrong: Great service and a great facility. The staff were very helpful
Trenten Wilcox: Great Gym!!! Fantastic Management!!!
David S.: Pleasant workout experience, I've been coming here for years
Laura Pickle: This staff is amazing. Everytime I walk in I feel welcomed.
Adam Wilcox II: If you have a gold membership, it's either an extra $5/visit or an upgrade of extra $10/month to visit this location. Full size lane pool for laps & aquatic fitness classes. Sauna & steam rooms in separate locker rooms. Family changing rooms. Lots of equipment. A lap track upstairs for walkers.
Kimberly Stevenson: Loved the facility! It’s very clean and lots of good equipment!
Megan Knight: Staff is extremely helpful and positive! Incredibly welcoming environment as well
Allie Lampo: Great place to workout!

Life Time: what do users think?
Ludmila Vlasenko: I came here with my sister, they didn’t let me in as a guest because it’s already 9:15. and guests are accepted until 9 pm (strange) and also could not register because there was one she (girl) by the way, not at all friendly and incompetent! We traveled for a very long time and could not be there.
Kamran H: Great place to work out. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. So far, love going there! One of the better gyms in the area. They recently renovated a bunch of areas including lockers and showers. Showers now have much more water pressure than previously.
Amy Jo: Best hair stylist in the world! Tish Wright Estrada. Friendly spa and hairstylists.
Mohammad Hameed: I've loved going to Lifetime Fitness for a few years now, however, the recent changes have made it burdensome. First, they increased the membership fee and claimed that doing so was necessary in light of inflation. However, the increase was far more than inflation at the time they increased the rate. They also stopped operating for 24 hours, so shouldn't that have addressed inflation, at least to an extent? Then, they REMOVE an entire basketball court, which was used all the time by several people, and replace it with pickleball. They failed to survey any of the gym-goers prior to making this decision, and this was not well received by several people that I know who use this gym, including myself. They also did not have to remove the basketball court altogether for others to play pickleball. They could have simply placed the pickleball equipment on the court and left it there, so the court could still be used for basketball during busy basketball hours.I can't help but think that the basketball court removal had an alternative motive, especially when considering the lack of surveying and the disparate impact it had on several of those who enjoy playing basketball, but I can't confirm my assumption without any evidence. The reduced hours, and increased membership fee should have more than adequately addressed whatever inflationary pressures the gym was allegedly facing. All things considered, these changes have made going to the gym a far less enjoyable experience than a few years ago. They will claim all such changes are necessary to maintain the experience they have/elevate the current experience, yet they fail to specify what exactly those benefits are/will be. In addition, whatever changes they have made (such as including toiletries in the locker room, making small outside building changes, or adding hardwood) should already be addressed by the membership fee.If you've managed to make it to the end of this review, I would suggest going to Lenexa, although they too are making similar changes to their gym, including the addition of a pickleball court. It also has fewer people, so I would certainly suggest it ahead of the Overland Park location.
A Kelley: Rumi is a top notch massage therapist!!Absolutely amazing! She definitely knows how to give the best most relaxing massages! She uses unique techniques only she can do.
Andrew Rhodes: I was very disappointed tonight when I brought a friend who was looking to join a gym to use one of my guest passes. When we were greeted I was told I could not bring a guest after 9pm. What sense does this make if your gym is open until 11pm. They wouldn’t make an exception and we drove 30 minutes just to work out to get turned away.Still probably the best gym in town but with some senseless policies and shortened hours post covid.
Jeancarlos Reyes: Used to be a great Gym but now i just dk. Can some one explain why the gym closes at 11 pm ? COVID is over!
SAI VARDHAN: Pricey
Baller Mair: What’s the point of basketball court if you can’t even play on it not once is open unless it 10mins before closing
Dean Ross: Outstanding gym. Occasionally, really busy.
Brennan Hopper: 1 star because the trainer there with dark skin pigmentation only so you know who I'm talking about that always hangs out at the desk at the top of the stairs used to laugh at me and make fun of me to my trainer Corbin who I was paying to train me right in front of me several times. People's intent to make you feel bad can be very discouraging. Just very poor customer service. I didn't hate on him back because I wanted to do the right thing and be mature about it but years later it was still a horrible experience to remember and makes me never want to workout at this location ever again even though I grew up going there.. I forgive him but for the sake of other people thinking about hiring a personal fitness trainer here I would go to the LifeTime Fitness in Lenexa if you want to be respected and workout in peace.
Justin S.: Best gym around imo. Can be a little pricey depending on how you set up your contract but i feel like you get what you pay for. Amenities are pretty good. I personally use almost everything from cardio equipment and weights, to the recreational stuff like racketball, pickleball and lap-pool. If you think you will use most aspects of the gym, I don't see why it isn't a good option. It's especially nice in the summer when the outdoor pool opens up. Would reccomend!
Steve Stringfellow: I am a 67 year old senior who is one of those people who visit the Gym when I feel up to it, not that it has ever become a habit (yet). When I do visit this Lifetime, I always feel at home with a sense of familiarity. They are always seemingly doing upgrades on the facility or the equipment, so I know my steep monthly payments are going to good use. I wish seniors like me received lower monthly prices (maybe consider a twice a week plan).
Dan Watkins: Great luxury fitness center. Has everything you could want and more.It is not cheap as gym memberships go, but worthwhile if you are visiting regularly and using the amenities.
Garrett lee: Good gym, high quality stuff. But I just wanted to come here to play a little basketball. I usually go to Matt ross where a day pass is $7 and there are two full courts but here the day pass is $40!!! Do I have to name my first born son lifetime to get a membership here, holy cow that is expensive! Definitely will not be playing basketball here anytime soon.
Christie Crouse: The staff is always beyond friendly and helpful! Clean gym with all the amenities. The cycle classes were all I clusive with different levels and walked new people through the class.
Strax IB: does not value members
Jason B: terrible service
Judi Lynne: It was difficult joining Lifetime after a 30+ year hiatus from working out at a gym. Fortunately, a friend recommended Lisa Golden as a trainer and her sessions with me made ALL the difference in the world. She was patient, kind, very personable, and definitely at the top of her game! I would give my highest recommendation to Lisa Golden and to Lifetime; you won't be disappointed!!
Anthony Wichman: One of the best gyms ive ever been to. It has everything you need.
Levi Hubbell: Gym is amazing! Lots of different activities for the entire family!

SCHEELS: what do users think?
Scott S: We were trying to locate a recently released baseball bat and the size we needed was not available online. Merek at the Overland Park store took our information and called me two days later after he located the bat at a store in Texas. I placed the order and we received it in a few days. Top notch customer service at the Overland Park store! Thank you Merek!
Jason Miller: I bought a pair of running shoes and the sales associate was knowledgeable and helpful. They have a wide selection of apparel, sports equipment, sports memorabilia, clothes, and even a Fuzziwig's Candy Factory.
Roger Cameron: Over priced for normal income families.
Natalya Crisostomo: A fun experience for the whole family. Prices are decent and service was wonderful.
Patrick Hawthorne: Great selection of firearms. Knowledgeable staff.
Devin Walker: Variety and selection was second to none
Tyler Hoffman: Absolutely incredible store with a massive sporting goods selection and a bit of EVERYTHING. They have a ferris wheel, places to eat, and bowling lanes.
mc c: Scheels is bigger than Bass Pro or Cabelas, or at least it appears to be. Fun activities inside. Ferris wheel, kids bowling, kids shooting range, full of all outdoor sports. Fishing, hunting, baseball, grilling, golf, ice skating, clothing, and furniture, they have it all. They even have minnows and worms! (Kinda hidden behind the fishing area/ice skates). A Cafe and candy store also. I could stay all day inside, just looking at stuff.
Nathan Strentz: Massive selection, excellent firearms section. they have a bit of everything outdoors
Joseph Cook: Great sale prices and the customer service is above the standard.
Blake Richardson: Amazing store. Gotta go there for all the golf apparel. Best selection by far
Tiffany Thomas: Excellent store
Cassie S: Bret and the rest of the staff were amazing!! I already have a deep love for this store but this experience was phenomenal! Definitely recommend coming here!
Dexter /Dexter: I'll probably never shop here again. The staff were friendly and helpful, but there is a big issue with their products.I spent like $120 on an Okuma fishing reel for trophy catfish. The first one I hooked was less than 5 lbs and the reel broke and would let the fish pull the gears free.I took it back, they replaced it. Now I just hooked my first fish with the replacement and it also won't reel in a sub-5 lbs fish.I have 7 of these reels. Okuma 303 coldwater trolling. The only ones to ever do this are the ones with "Scheels" stamped on the side.I've been fishing with baitcasters since I could walk. I guarantee it isn't user error.I would've gotten less disappointment by lighting my money on fire.
Pat Hohimer: Very disappointed in the golf dept. Have been there several times in the past and the service was amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff. However today I went in fully prepared to spend $350 on a new 3wood. Had 3 different sales associates walk past me without saying a word and specifically not even making eye contact. Stood at the swing bay for no less than 30 min and nothing. Sad
Kevin Kotara: I have never been to this company, very helpful, professional employees. If you're a sports fanatic, this is definitely the place to go.
Melody McIntosh: Looked all over for wide Hoka shoes as different stores said they had them, but didn't. I called Scheels & they said they carried them in my size. Went there and got them right away. Great customer service!
Allen Jeffery: Great help finding fishing gear
Robb Cohoon: It's the most amazing sports store I've ever experienced. Anything you could possibly want or think you may want can be found here. From hard to find lego sets, to knives, guns, kayaks, camping, basketball, football, baseball, or volleyball gear that you need to participate, play hard, coach, or spectate. If you need clothing for any sport, they have it, want to support your favorite team, they have the gear you need. I was visiting Kansas City recently, and experiencing this store was one of my favorite things I did while there. Highly recommend this store!
Clean Car: Outstanding selection of anything and everything you will ever need. Sports, hunting, fishing, camping. They literally have it all.
juston taylor: Fantastic place to shop with the family. It's clean, spacious, and we'll organized so you don't feel overwhelmed.
