Van Witt Fine Art Conservation: what do users think?
Timothy Roush: Excellent advice was given and my problem was solved...over the phone. Couldn't be more pleased.
Dana Buxton: Wonderful and very helpful.
Dana Nelson: Restored a water color painting, which was both water damaged and dirty. Work was done in a timely manner and the price was reasonable. Highly recommend.
Lisa Brummett: UNBELIEVABLE! I discouraged my dad from having paintings from my grandparents cleaned. I am so glad he didn’t listen to me. I had no idea the treasures I almost gave up on. Thank you, thank you, thank you Peggy from Bob Lawrie and his grateful daughter. This picture doesn’t do it justice and I thought the photo was black and white to start. The other paintings are beautiful too but this is my favorite. The colors are amazing!
Jacqueline Kodas: I received great customer service! The quality of work was wonderful (they cleaned and repaired a painting damaged in moving). They reframed a painting, and I loved the gallery effect they gave it. I will use them again for future endeavors.
Javi001: I recently needed to repair a marble vase which was broken during a move from California to Kansas City. I was lucky to have found Van Witt Fine Art Conservation in Kansas City to restore my vase. The Van Witt team was able to restore it to almost new, even filling the missing pieces with their own materials. The natural cracks resulting from the restoration are seamless and the vase was restored to its original natural beauty. I highly recommend Van Witt Fine Art Conservation for any restoration job you may need for your valuable art pieces.
subdivide: Very competent and friendly. A bit overpriced, in my opinion, but the market matters more than my opinions. I can say of the times that I stopped in I could not get the opinion of the person that was supposed to give the opinion because they were not there. Apparently they are busy and technicians were in other places or unavailable. This led to me leaving a piece of art and to be evaluated and never even getting a phone call back about it. I drove all the way out there to get it back and they gave it back and they were very nice about it but it was clear that they would be unable to do what I needed done. But they do other things very well so I will take nothing away from them. I just could not get what I needed. Sometimes life is this way that should not affect them. A phone call is nice however.
Mike Brack: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Michelle Dubois: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueOur firm (Winston Art Group) engaged Peggy and her team to restore some iconic American paintings in a collection we are managing. Peggy responded very quickly to all calls and emails, and did an excellent job stabilizing the work. We highly recommend her firm.
Maggie C: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI was devastated to have caused serious damage to a treasured and valuable family heirloom. Van Witt treated me with kindness and respect, and made the damage go away! I'm forever grateful.
Melanie Middien: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueHad some heirloom paintings repaired and restored. They did a lovely job.
tricia martin: I purchased a Wilbur Niewald painting that had a large crease in the canvas/paint. I brought to Peggy who assessed the situation and confidently reassured me she could “fix” the problem. Wow, you can’t tell there was a crease ever there. They also “restretched” the canvas and reframed..it looks amazing and I am thrilled- Thank You!! I highly recommend.
William Deacy: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValuePeggy repaired and restored our painting quickly and professionally. She talked us through the entire process and charged a very reasonable fee. We will certainly contact her again for more any future restoration work!
Carmen Thomas: Van Witt did an incredible job restoring several pieces of art for our client. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a piece restored!!
M.diana Thompson: Highly recommend this phenomenal business! Professional yet compassionate when dealing with works of art that not only have monetary value but most importantly sentimental value. Her knowledge and skill are definitely showcased with the restoration work they did to a damaged in moving sculpture I took to them. So happy I found them and will now be returning for a long overdue oil painting cleaning that up until now would not be trusted to anyone. I know they will get the job done perfectly ! You can not get better done anywhere else.
Mark Wilson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessPeggy and her team restored our church’s Stations of the Cross. They addressed chipped/cracking paint and restored them to their original beauty. Many thanks!
Renee Martin: A unique historical burlap grain sack that had been buried in a barn attic for almost 100 years was brought back to life for a unique presentation in a shadow box. In addition, we are thrilled to have Peggy and her team scheduled to preserve historic hand written notes on plaster walls in the same barn. The farm building has been recently designated as a historic structure on the Kansas registry and national registry.
Valerie Andruss: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessTrue professionals. Invisible repair of a broken soapstone sculpture followed by an invisible repair of a torn antique map (art has a hard life at our house... :-) )
Al Funk: Our church had religious paintings (Stations of the Cross) that are ninety years old. Several had peeling paint. After consultation with Van Witt Fine Art we accepted a bid to have them all restored. The project came back two weeks ahead of the predicted time. We had high expectations but were over whelmed with the final results. The colors came back much more brilliant than anyone ever dreamed of. I would recommend Peggy Van Witt and her crew for those looking for professional restorations of any paintings.
Kristin Chanay: Peggy restored two oil paintings of special significance to our family to their original beauty. We are thrilled with the results and impressed with the quality of the work done, as well as the quick turn around. The price was as bid and Peggy communicated before and after each step. We will not hesitate to bring other artworks to Van Witt for conservation and highly recommend the business to others.
Charlotte Drayer: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValuePeggy Van Witt is a professional art conservator who cleaned a painting created by my Great Grandmother in the early 1890s. Now the white water lilies are white again. She completed the job in less than a week.
