She cared for my aging father for over two years and we were blessed to have her watching after his needs.

Leland Scott: I drove by this place last night to see what it was like since my son just began going there. I was verbally abused and assaulted and threatened by some employees of theirs after 7pm last night for the crime of taking a photo and pulling into their lot to take it. The men also made lewd comments about the female riding with me. It was disgusting to see such a display at a place that's supposed to care about people with special needs. I have sent a complaint email to the place and will be showing up in person this next week. If there isn't an apology from these employees and disciplinary action taken the rating will remain a 1 star and I will be working to pull my son out of this place. No place involved with special needs adults should ever employ an abusive rage-a-holic which these guy obviously are. If amends are made and I decide to leave him there I will change my rating but not until.Update: Apparently they are not going to apologize for their abusive treatment of me and Nicole. And you don't empathize with me or I would have received apologies for the outrageous behavior including sexual abusive statements. And now you insult me saying you hope I get the help I need. The only help I need is from the judge. All I need to do is appear in court Oct. 6th, show the judge the texts and phone calls and the 6 pages of detailed times and dates of what she has done and Melodie's dictatorhsip will be over. She's a compulsive liar and she doesn't stand a chance in court. Try explaining removing your child from his father without any cause or justification. She did it to hurt me and using a child to hurt the other parent is child abuse. She also did it because I was getting Jacob help and she doesn't want him to get help and trying to hide him. Did she disclose to you that Jacob has been having violent meltdowns and was kicked out of Helping Hands because she refused to get him help? He slammed Nicole down to the pavement on July 3rd and set off a string of 20 seizures over the next 5 days. Melodie has yet to even acknowledge the things Jacob has done. And that scar on his left leg happened during a meltdown under her "care". She couldn't explain herself to the Lee's Summit police and the officers told me based on their training and questions that she makes up things and is a compulsive liar. They hoped that I win and that eventually a new guardian who doesn't use Jacob to punish his father and give no reason for any of her crazy actions is appointed. She tried to get him back into Helping Hands on Friday, Sept. 1 and when they questioned her over getting him help she admitted she hadn't. She has played this game throughout her life and I'm finally standing up to it and going to court to get her out of Jacob's life. Jacob gets very angry whenever I have taken him home to his mother. For very good reasons. She shows him no affection, never holds his hand, never talks to him, never hugs and hold him and she has him living in her basement instead of the empty bedroom next to hers. Don't let her con you. She only cares about the money she lives off of that she gets from Jacob's SSDI. She is bad news for Jacob.

Lanora Wesley: I am a caregiver to one of The Carousel clients. The staff is very caring and make everyone feel comfortable. I've seen on hand how the staff interacts with the clients. I was told about this place about 3 years ago and really liked it. I like that they take the clients on field trips. The look on the clients faces when I see them is priceless. Thank you Dr. Allen and staff for taking care of my guy. I have nothing but love for your team that you've selected to work at The Carousel. They seem to genuinely care about the well being of the clients.

Michelle Wilson: The Carousel is fantastic! They provide care and companionship for adults who need assistance or care during the day. They provide relief to family and/or caregivers. Open at 630am to 6pm Monday-Saturday (if I remember right). Thus giving individuals time to take care of other matters while their loved ones are cared for, safe, and having fun.The Carousel encourages socialization through activities like art, music, dance, exercise, crafts and ect. They also provide a healthy breakfast, lunch and snack daily.If your looking for a place where your loved one is cared for and safe, this is the place to be. I've personally watched individuals in this program do things that"others"said was impossible. This place is truly where Miracles have happened and Dreams are coming True!!!!!
